Great customer service. I purchased a used guitar for my son today and I will definitely be returning to purchase his amp and accessories. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful!
I’ve been shopping at Evolution Music since I discovered their stores some years ago. I have never gotten a bad deal or something that didn’t work. I’ve purchased some of my favorite gear there. Everyone is helpful. The inventory is always changing so I check their website often. I’ll keep buying from them until my wife makes me stop.
Great store! Old school feel
Bought a nice used snare for a reasonable price. I will be shopping here for great deal on used parts
Asked to see a guitar and the manager couldn’t be bothered. I emailed the company to ask for help and got no response.
Terrible experience, treated so poorly. Bought online and never again, aren’t to be trusted.
Very shady business! Takes payment for item and does not ship it. They have a reputation of doing this to others. I had to open a dispute in order to force him to give me my money back. Would not recommend sending them any money as myself and others have been scammed by this person.
2. Midlothian Music
Address: 15645 S 94th Ave, Orland Park, IL 60462 , Tinley Park , Illinois , United States
Most music stores make you feel like you’re bothering them, but the guys at Midlothian Music treat you very well.
Went there to buy a guitar and the guy there was the nicest ever. You can really tell they have a passion for what they do. Very informative, friendly, and have a wide selection. Definitely my go-to music shop.
Brought in a finicky Martin guitar that had dried and was frustrating to play. John and Dan restored the guitar in a way I did not think possible. We could not be more pleased. Excellent and very professional job. Thx cp
I love all the products but at times the service was bad, other visits there were good service. Thanks!
I ordered online, 2 short scale chip board bass cases- purchased and paid separately including separate shipping charges. They shipped both together in the same Guitar box that was a few inches too short. With a little bubble wrap. Needless to say they were squished. When I called they told me to return them at my own expense. So I drove 40 minutes and returned them in person and received a full refund. I buy a lot of gear and never experienced such sloppy packing and unfriendly service.
UPDATE TO REPLY: THEY EDITED THEIR REPLY AFTER MY INITIAL UPDATE, so let’s go for round 2. I called and asked what bass these cases fit- they could not tell me. This is the first time I have ever heard of a music store selling something that they don’t even know what it’s for. The dimensions WERE not posted when I bought the cases. That is FALSE.
They did ship it in a guitar box that was too small and there is wrinkling and dents on the cases, one moreso than the other. The fact that they are saying otherwise says a lot, just like their replies here on Google to ALL of their negative customer reviews (let alone essentially calling me a liar).
They shipped these poorly, copped attitude on the phone, and in person- then blame the customer in reviews. So here’s the proof and pics.
I would give no stars. I bought a clarinet for my grandson, and a banjo another time for my husband. The son of the owner took care of my husband and me. I went in at Christmas time to buy reeds and the store did not carry what my grandson needed. A 3 1/2 plus Van Doren reed. The man said they don’t make those. So, I bought a 3 1/2. I had to return the box of reeds, as there IS a 3 1/2 plus reed made. I had my 16 year old grandson with me. This man proceeded to berate us as the group Chicago doesn’t use those and if what they use are good enough for them, we should tell the teacher this is not needed. We were verbally lashed IN FRONT OF OTHER CUSTOMERS. I didn’t have the receipt, but remember the discount. This sarcastic man was so intimidating, we felt lousy. I should have been rude, but, as a 16 years old, accomplished clarinetist was with me, I did not, nor am I confrontational. We left, and went to QUINLAN AND FABISH in Burr Ridge, which I strongly recommend to anyone, it is worth the ride. They had, ON A RACK, the EXACT reeds my grandson needed. So, stay away from Midlothian Music.
I asked for an estimate to repair a leak on my daughter’s flute. With no parts needed, they wanted $40. I declined their service and the man on the phone hung up on me. When I picked up the flute, somehow additional keys were bent and leaking. Ridiculous!
An excellent place to get your gear repaired and to purchase new gear.
Friendly service & awesome instructors
The people are very nice.. most especially the musical department.. my two kids are there learning.. one is doing guitar lessons and the other one is doing piano.. their instructor is one of the greatest guy..
I will recommend this place as one of the best.. They are great people..
My husband loves this place. He plays guitar, can stay in this store for hours.
Geared towards the advanced to professional musician. Very good parking, listening rooms knowledgeable Sales personnel.
Employees are very knowledgeable and always willing to help
I went into guitar center to buy a bass guitar, amp and guitar stand. Yesterday i walked into guitar center to return my items and it took them almost 45 minutes to return the items. This morning i looked at my bank account and called the bank and there is no record of Guitar center returning ANY funds. A 900 dollar purchase by the way. Ill be back in there today.
They sold me a used guitar pedal without the right equipment. I was very displeased and it ended up costing me my show at a venue.
Went in during my workday to buy a guitar I played around with yesterday. Just wanted to pay and get out, stood in line as a single associate was helping some guy buying half the store and kept going back to shop as he was checking out, waited ten minutes, finally some other employee comes to help, checks out one guy, tells me the other employee will help me when he’s done, several employees standing around doing nothing. They also helped another guy that walked in after me before me, I finally put the guitar back and left. There’s a reason I always shop at Sam Ash instead of Guitar Center.
5. Closet Collectibles
Address: 17236 Oak Park Ave, Tinley Park, IL 60477 , Tinley Park , Illinois , United States
This place is a treasure!! He helped my grandson pick out the exact Pokémon card that I had no idea he was talking about and I’ll be FOREVER grateful
I always find a good find when I stop.
Super cool little shop! Tons of collectibles from toys to tcg and sports cards …and the owner was very nice …highly recommend
It’s always great to find a hobby/collectibles store close by. Very friendly staff, I can now say I’ve been to both locations and they both have so much cool stuff to look at and purchase. I’m a hotwheel junkie and the selection is mind blowing, you will not be disappointed so stop and check them out!
Call little shop
Person working was very kind and informative. My son was able to get two games for game system. They had a nice selection. I am a collector of Barbies and they have a very nice selection in boxes.
I get that they don’t want buy beanie babies, but the guy at the counter made me feel unwelcome in general as they were just sitting. I brought in a pretty rare old one. Wouldn’t even look at it, offered $0.50 for it. The store itself looked great, but the service left something to be desired. No apology for my time wasted walking in. No suggestion of where else I could take it. Bad feels.

Always greeted by a smile as soon as I walk into the store. Very neat & illuminated. The employees are friendly & readily available to answer questions or assist in locating merchandise.
Excellent computer sales associates very knowledgeable , friendly willing to answer any questions to help you select the best computer based on your needs , also Nichols from the Geek Squad is extremely knowledgeable and very helpful in explaining our new computer
Great service by Omar at this location!
store is clean and the staff here are always very helpful when you need help with a product.
No issues, needed some assistance finding an item and employees were extremely helpful and friendly.
The store closes early but there are good deals to be had
Stood in the appliance dept. 20 minutes. No salesman showed up. Walking out, the greeter had his back to us, on his phone. I said “we’re leaving because no one helped us”. His remark? “okay”
You lost my 3k worth of business.
Their approach to COVID and poor customer service, it’s like they want to drive themselves out of business.
This place is the epitome of fabulous. So many fantastic finds. Come see for yourself.
I really enjoyed Journey through time vintage Emporium. It’s in a great location in Tinley Park easy access good parking cute store front, A huge variety of items to look at and select from. Good prices, I really like the use of the old china cabinets as display cases. That is very innovative. I will be back many times.
Good selection and variety, lots of fun finds, hope it continues to fill in with more vendors, happy to have them in town
Chott Piano Service tuned and pitch raised the Hobart-Cable console in my studio. Amazingly knowledgeable with expert attention to detail. This will be my go to company.
Very happy with the piano tuning. Was recommended to us and I have to say she was incredibly thorough. Spent a lot of time making sure our piano sounded its best. Very professional, kind, and courteous! Would recommend for anyone looking for piano service.

Bill is a great instructor with a well of knowledge. Patience but expects you to hold up your end as a student. Many years of experience and eager to share it
My son received piano and drum instruction from Mr. Bill. He was very patient with my then, 8 year old son and my son grew to love music because of it. My son is a talker and often would shift focus to things other than the instruction. Like a seasoned father and grandfather, Mr. Bill would engage in the conversation allowing my son to feel heard, then, gently nudge him back to the lesson.
Mr. Bill never made us feel like he didn’t have time or like we were on the clock. I know that he is running a business and has appointments at certain times, which he was always punctual to, but somehow he always made us feel like we were people and not just customers. I truly believe he cares about what he does and ensuring that clients have the best experience when they interact with him. My son (now 17 y/o) still plays the piano. We changed instructors because Lettuce Play was just too far from our house. But, I highly recommend Lettuce Play. And I wish Mr. Bill the best!

First time here. Friendly place, and a big selection of beer to go.
Great beer selection and helpful staff¡!
Very Good selection. You can try anything in the store. Good place to stop if you’re coming out for a concert in Tinley Park
Good selection of expensive tap beer. Carry out for 100’s of craft beer too.
Great place to try something new
I placed an order that I planned to pick-up when we were driving cross country for the holidays (CO to MI). The Open Bottle has some really cool products available that are hard to find, so I was excited. Due to the massive winter storm, we weren’t able to make the trip, so I called to cancel my order and explain what happened. They told me to email to cancel. I emailed them about cancelling and the response stated my order must have been an “error” and I’d therefore pay a fee for cancelling. I explained it wasn’t an error at all, that there was a massive winter storm that shut down roads everywhere. They stopped responding to me. I’ve since followed up three times, and they’ve fully ghosted me. Very disappointed since this seemed like a cool place. At this point, I just want my money back and I’ve been trying to chase them down for the last week to issue a refund.
The only positive I can give is that they have a good selection of beer… however, RARE or Variant releases stay in the back for “regular” customers. I was in one day, asked about a VLAD Maple that they posted. I asked the staff and they said they were sold out. Then a gentleman walks in and calls the bartender by name and asks for a “Maple Vlad” and the guy goes to the back and brings it to him and rings him up. I ask after why he didn’t sell it to me, and I received “sorry man.”
Beyond this, dogs coming in without leashes and arrogant staff is a bit normal. Been there 5 times now and I’m done. I’m a consumer willing to pay the same as anyone else and we all should have the same treatment as others.
Minimal selection. Too expensive.
14. House of Music
Address: 14426 John Humphrey Dr, Orland Park, IL 60462 , Tinley Park , Illinois , United States
Alyssa is great at handling all of these situations despite having to take on 3 other people’s jobs. She handles herself well and is great with customer service. She’s explained to me the covid situation and the one employee who was positive had not been to work for over a month and had not worked there while positive. This employee was not allowed back to work until after the quarantining was over. They clean and disinfect the areas and equipment on a regular basis. Highly recommend House of Music.
We moved to Orland Park in 2017 and I was looking for a music school for my two daughters and after looking at a few schools, I finally decided on House of Music and I am very happy I found this music school. Both my daughters like their instructors.
Staff’s kind n’ “mentorly” (that’s a word, right?). They mostly sell guitars, but I have seen a drum set, an accordion, and a few keyboards there too. Not very traditional in their approach to teaching instruments, they don’t really go over music theory. If you’re looking for a laid back approach to learning guitar, drums, etc, you’ve got a good chance here.
I stopped by this shop recently to inquire about music lessons for my 7 year old son. I was greeted by the owner who had his face mask dangling half off of his face. You would think that during a global pandemic the owner would take more care in making sure the students in his care are safe, this guy can’t even wear a mask correctly. Also, all the instruments they had for sale looked cheap.
Waste of time.
My son has been learning piano with them for almost a year. Their teachers are also unstable. The working teacher also has a bad attitude. It’s a very bad experience!

Murela Luarasi is a wonderful teacher. Our daughter Lily has progressed so remarkably in the past 12 months. It is amazing to watch her grow as a young pianist. We attribute her amazing progress to how well she teaches and works with, challenges, and encourages our daughter.
Thank you Kindly for all you do!
The Music Connection is a wonderful studio. I have all three of my kids with Mr. David and Ms. Natalie. They are both excellent teachers!
16. Disc Replay

They’re always really helpful, went in to get a gift card I was in and out in a few minutes. They have vinyl records new video games and old ones. Anything you’re looking for I’m sure they would help you find it.
Pretty decent used CDs and DVDs plus a lot of cool extras!
Awesome place. They have everything from new to old classic movies and games and the staff are super nice
It could honestly be a better place. The customer service was not that great and they did not have the game I was looking for. And honestly they didnt have that great of selection of ps4 games at all. Could be better.
Store is a little messy and there aren’t any real “deals”. A lot of 3rd party stuff hanging around in the used video games section. Could use a bit more merchandise with what I’m looking for rather than the same ole sports games. Staff is helpful and knowledgeable and at least it isn’t Game Stop. I’ve never traded anything in here so I’m not too sure how that is.
My boys and I like the store a lot … Pretty cool toys in there I must say. My only wish would be that the workers were a bit more welcoming … Working in retail myself, I have an high expectation when it comes to making customers feel welcomed … Other than that, pretty decent place…
These guys don’t know how to buy stuff. They had only 6 snes games on the shelf worth anything, and I literally seen them try to low ball a guy that brought in 50 games. If this store ever wants to have a decent classic games selection they would start paying a fair prices for what people bring in. Now I can understand someone saying hey they offered a price you don’t have to take it. I agree, but when you are known for selling video games and the best Nintendo 64 game you have in the locked cabinet is Star Fox 64 then you should re-think your strategy. What is wrong with paying a guy half of what something is worth?
Terrible experience this is the first time I traded some games in. I got a store credit and I asked the girl if there is no tax on trade in credit she agreed there wasnt . Just like when you trade in a car . When she rang me up she charged me sales tax didn’t see it till I walked outside. If this is the way they do business for trade ins they lost a customer.
Don’t waste your time!
17. Music Evolution – Evolution Installs – Home Theater
Profesional, great customer service, fair pricing. Highly recommend evolution installs.
Highly recommend the customer service as well as the installation of a tv over the fireplace. Tony answered all of my questions via text and email and scheduled my installation within a few days. They arrived on time and did a beautiful job!
Love my new tv/ sound bar!
Thanks again.
Great service and install. Definitely will have Tony do all my work needed in the future. Was even nice enough to work on Sunday. Thanks Tony!

The best place to have a nice cigar , and great service ! Prices , friendly environment and Customer service Shout out to my Homies Harbi! and Omar!
Great place with excellent customer service!! They make sure your hookah works and are great company overall
Definitely a nice chill spot. I like the furniture & the setup. One side they have TVs & the other side music w/more TVs
How old yu have to be
Love this place
Great place for hooka, employees very friendly.
Guy sold me a rusted and busted humidor which you couldn’t see inside, wasn’t until I got home that I saw it. Came back in and asked for a refund or an exchange since I know it will allow them to keep the profit. Guy refused it, and argued with me about the humidor. Just poor service, expected nothing less from a ratty smoke shop.
Tried to get information on the and the guy was just pushing a $400 bill for 3 hookah and that not right he wasn’t even listening to my question
Ok

Great store and great location. Came in and found EXACTLY what I wanted. Good selection and lots too look at.
You might think this is a store for kids or teenagers or college but I found some great workout equipment and home decor for Christmas. I’ll definitely visit again. Good customer service helping me find what I was looking for.
Lots of neat stuff
It’s cool for my daughter
it was ok nice tshirts wish they had more inventory on sizes. visited acouple 5-belows. and not enough bigger sizes
Great place if you’re looking for odds and ends
Nice place. Has LOTS to shop. Great for last minute gifts or stocking stuffers. Staff is great, say hello and welcome when you walk in. Store is pretty stocked but a little bit dirty and some stuff on floor. Kinda cramped in some aisles. Other than that I’ll be coming back.
I came here last week, I brought some plastic storage containers that were priced at $4. I also brought several other items priced at $5. I didn’t realize I was overcharged on the items that were $4. The cashier rung it up as $5. I don’t know if she didn’t know it was priced at $4. I didn’t realize this until I got home.
Lesson learn: to always check receipt before leaving store. Make sure the cashier hands you the receipt instead of putting it in the bag.
Otherwise, this store has good parking. Not too small but decent size location with great stock. The staff overall are nice.
It’s OK for cheap kids gifts.
