Staff is very friendly that’s why I gave 3 stars instead of only 1. Shopping there isn’t enjoyable because there is always carts, boxes and ladders blocking merchandise or or the aisle. I get that things will be messy on truck delivery day but it’s like this every day.
Always have what I need. The only problem I have had there is long lines. All in all, the service has been good…
Poor service had to stand in line for 15 Minutes before anyone came to the register to check you out! Store isles were littered with trash, very dirty store!!

I called today to ask about get the action lowered on my guitar. Keep in mind that I am a beginner and don’t know a whole lot about this type of stuff. The person who answered the phone was far from helpful. He was condescending and rude and didn’t answer my questions. Instead he just cackled when I asked clarifying questions and responded with sarcastic answers. I will absolutely NOT be taking my business here and did not appreciate the customer service or lack thereof.

1st time visit, went to see a band that was playing. Our party of 4 enjoyed the whole experience. If we were located closer it would be a nice place to hang out more.
The owner is interested in analog music, and in my opinion is very good at it.
He probably has other talents too! I enjoyed meeting him.

Learn Denny’s is at all that you would need for enjoyment and entertaining evening the drinks are nice the bartenders awesome they have a big band did they open up and have bands and every once in a while it’s an enjoyable evening anytime you go there

We have used the music shoppe in Champaign for all three of our kids and been very happy with the quality and service. But our last experience was truly exceptional. We purchased a nice clarinet for our son. He was very happy, but it played flat. The people at the music shoppe immediately ordered a new one, but my son really liked the first one best. So they ordered a new barrel (slightly shorter) from the company for us! Definitely well above and beyond.
We will definitely continue to buy from them and encourage everyone in the area to support them as well!

It’s a good place for renting and buying instruments. They repair and provide loaner instruments.
The Music Shoppe has always provided quality service. We have purchased one instrument from them, but had other instruments serviced. They have knowledgeable staff and I have never been disappointed with any repair or maintenance work they have completed. They bent over backward once to help us in a pinch.
My only complaint is that they are so busy with schools, it is hard to get personal instruments in. (They told me 3 weeks before they could even look at my daughter’s instrument.)
These people are consistently quality professionals. Over the last 5 years I have trusted their service and have not been disappointed.

I went to get my clarinet fixed and they tried to up sell me on getting all my pads fixed and thought I was a child and were annoyed I came in the store when I came to pick it up. I will not be using these services again because of the horrible service I received from the workers.
I went in to have my saxophone serviced. The saxophone I play is pretty nice. I mentioned that I played it in marching band and the woman belittled me for playing a nice instrument in marching band. Sorry I don’t have an unlimited supply of saxophones.

Fantastic customer service! I placed an order at GC on line for a special order item and when it arrived, the neck was set improperly. I took it to this store so I could talk to a real person and not go through a phone tree. The customer service manager was awesome. She immediately saw the problem, arranged a refund and credited it to the purchase of a new guitar and gave me a discount for the inconvenience. Can’t beat that. Although the selection is a little limited (face it, Champaign-Urbana is not the biggest market so it’s not reasonable for them to have lots of higher-end instruments), other merch you’ll need to maintain your guitar is there and the staff is friendly and helpful. I will definitely go back and recommend it to guitar playing friends.

Service was lacking in a big way. Stood in line way too long while other employees seemingly did nothing and left 1 girl at the counter alone while she helped a customer check out. It was taking a long time and we had 1 or 2 people behind us, and it was still not a priority to get anyone else up to a register. Always dread going here, but when the husband needs new strings, this is where we end up..
Customer service was unprofessional to say the least. Not sure why guitar center would hire people to represent the company in this fashion.

Everyone here is knowledgeable and friendly, and they have the best selection of quality product in town. I’ve bought guitars, gear, and had repair work done here and only had great experiences with Ricky, Andrew, and the rest of the staff. Champaign is lucky to have this place.
I’ve purchased four guitars, two amplifiers, a few pedals, and accessories here. The Upper Bout has an outstanding, personable & knowledgeable staff, and growing inventory of quality instruments and amplifiers—one of the best shops in the Midwest!

It’s kind of expensive, I paid $25 for two sets of strings when I go through them like crazy. This being the only place I buy strings nowadays I am now scared to break one!
They have loads of guitars and amps to try out, as well as mandolins, banjos and other stringed instruments, makes it a great place to learn about instruments.
I will purchase my next guitar here for sure.
Very nice store for guitar players. Not a lot of options for bass players. Store is very clean and the store has a very classy look and vibe. Very nice selection of effects pedals. I will go there again. I would like to have seen more high end 5 string basses. But, I think everyone should stop by.
Brought in a broken guitar hoping to fix it. They were quoting me 4 times the value of a new guitar to fix it and kept pushing me to just buy a new one. I ended up leaving and getting the guitar replaced elsewhere
I put a guitar here on consignment that had a synth pickup and they straight up lost the synth. When I came in to pick up my stuff they just shrugged their shoulders like “so what?”
Be forewarned! If you are anything but an accomplished or professional guitar player they may not have the time of day for you! They WILL talk down to you, and make broad assumptions of you. Without asking me any further questions, because I said I traveled a lot, had a sentimental instrument that I didn’t want to see damaged and didn’t presently have a place to store it: the assumptions changed to me being homeless and I couldn’t be pushed out of the store fast enough. Even when I asked about a simple $15 item. Oh and let’s not forget the whole the salesman is talking down to me, he grabbing expensive guitars off the wall just playing them instead of listening to my questions. Nice job Upper Bout

We went for an evening of fun at Bingo and had fun with that. We ordered pizza and it was good but had a little to much garlic.
Jeff, Barb and the rest of the staff are great. They know us by name and are always friendly.

Awesome place, nice atmosphere, friendly staff and Great food. We had the pizza and it was fantastic. Although I wouldn’t recommend getting sausage. They use what looks to be like sausage links , kinda that was weird. But the pizza still had a great flavor. They also do free extreme bingo every Monday night . So much fun
Apparently, some people are allowed total ownership of any, or all, of the slots machines. If they leave a machine for any reason , no one else is to touch it! I was even accused of stealing the prior player’s accumulated winnings from the machine. Fortunately ,the person setting next to me noted that the other player had cashed out before leaving the machine. Who knows what would have happened to me if the other guy hadn’t spoken up.
I WILL NVER GO TO TRAXSIDE AGAIN!!!! I was told about Traxside by a friend who said the place is always dead so its a nice and quiet place to go…..I see why they do not have much business. Even with 4 employees behind the bar (chatting with each other) and 2 people playing the slots, it took my mom and I at least 5 min to cash in tickets with one of the employees.
Why does it say open till 1online? Drove there to find out that the Doors are locked at 10:30 on a Saturday night. Might want to fix that. My family and I wanted to go play pool and it says your open but clearly you weren’t.
