Sam did a great job of getting me setup with a new guitar. The guitar that we went with really checked all of the boxes for what I was looking for in a new guitar, he was just super helpful!

I took in my dulcimer to get a estimate on having the bridge lowered. They said they couldn’t get ahold of me so proceded to do the work without my approval. They ended up restringing it, which I didn’t ask for, and charged me $90 to lower the bridge. The bridge was not lowered enough so I still have to have someone else fix it! Never again!
Took my deceased father’s guitar here for some repairs never received any notification that it was finished when I showed up to figure out what was going on I was informed that they had sold it for the price of the repair so I lost one of the last things I had of my father’s for about $60.. the only thing they offered was 10% off one of their new guitars which to me was a slap in the face

Gombrelli guitars is definitely a go to for information on 50s, 60, 70s and other Classic style and Vintera pickups. Bruce is definitely the guy to go to about the sensitivity and information on these specs. Check out his website and youtube channel! Also don’t be afraid to reach out. He was very helpful when I needed it
I haven’t purchased anything yet from Bruce, but he has been invaluable. He has answered my emails in a very timely fashion, and I have not purchased from him. He was very helpful and saved me from purchasing a used set of Strat pickups that were not what they were sold as. He has extensive descriptions of Fender pickups, wiring guides and Strat info. An all-around great guy!!! I look forward to purchasing something from him!!!
I want to share about my purchase of a used Stratocaster from Gombrelli Guitars/StratocasterDesigns. WOW, the strat was Exactly as described, if not better! It was mint! But the best part is the SUPERIOR proprietary electronics that Bruce has designed over the years. The sounds that are available from one of his pre-loaded pickguards are unbelievable and unlimited. I chose the dual Stratbuckers, Spank Switch and Bass Tamer. I have all the sounds of ALL the great strats ever made and MORE in this one guitar. Nothing compares! Thank you Bruce!!
I bought a Crown full size accordion from Cash fo Accordions. I bought it several years ago and I have had a good experience. I would like to purchase another full size with palm switch if Cash had one.
My sister has had her kids Enrolled with Elite Music Instruction down in South Florida for over three years and both my nephews are doing great. I go down there to see them perform in the music recital every year and they are having a blast. My daughter just turned six and we decided to put her in piano lessons and it turns out that Elite Music Instruction is up here in Gainesville too. So happy! Terrific service.
The best school in the Gainesville area. I was having a very hard time finding a music teacher to come and give lessons to my children for both piano and guitar. I live way out in Jonesville and no one would come out this way. Elite Music Instruction had one teacher that teachers both guitar and piano, so it made this whole thing even easier. I recommend Elite Music Instruction to all my fiends and to you too.

They had what I needed when I needed it, and -1 stars because they take longer to do repairs and refurbishments as apposed to hoggetown do to the fact that they ship your instrument out
I brought my guitar in for minor pickup wiring. 7 days later they hadn’t touched it. I came back to get it and I wasn’t given a reason or an apology.
I would really love to give this place five stars, but… The thing is, even though they have a fabulous selection of guitars, (and I DO mean FABULOUS! After, all, I bought my Yamaha that’s in the pawnshop right now here, and I’m fabulous af ) they don’t have a fabulous way of treating people that look like me. Every time I walk in this place, the long-haired dude is so weird. You can just tell he’s waiting for me to pocket something so he can rush to the front and lock me in! Like, dude, I paid cash for one of your overpriced, mass- produced workhorse-guitars. I’m not gonna swipe some maracas while your back’s turned. I don’t even want to shop here anymore, which sucks because Guitar Center is hella far, but at least they don’t make me feel like I’m not welcome.
Dont say you buy old musical equipments, if a 63 year ventage trumpet is not worth any thing more than a head shake and disrespectfull knowladge.

Went to get a tuner they needed to price correct from the site, and they did. But also got a Hohner Puck that was repackaged (to be fair, idk if by them) and a draw hole didn’t work at all. That was the last one, so they had to switch with an Old Standby, and if you know harmonicas, that’s just a trade down even though it was more expensive on their shelf. I know it’s harder to do a refund, but I’d have rathered that. These things combined left a bad taste in my mouth.
Peter’s love for handpans is infectious as his laughter. He enjoys helping connect people to the right instrument. His teaching style is open and flexible. He’s able to instruct seasoned musicians to beginners and everyone in between. If you are looking to add a healing instrument in your life or looking for some instructions or tips on playing, Peter is your handpan guy.
I just bought my first hand pan from Peter Levitov and had a wonderful experience! He spent time initially through a Zoom meeting so I could choose my instrument and kept in contact with me all along the way until my hand pan arrived safely. He even sent two CDs of his music with the instrument. Then I had a great first lesson and received a video recording of the lesson. Peter has been great to work with and I look forward to taking more lessons from him in the future!
Working with Peter has been such a blessing and for the few days we have been working together I feel that just by his presence I get a musical
transmission worth of years of teachings. He formulates a magical way to teach in order for me to feel challenged and motivated. His humble patience and attention to the needs for me to grow as a musician are his strongest points in my experience. I feel he is always looking for ways to grow and learn as a teacher and spiritual being that spills in all his work. I got a great like-new guitar here, and I love it! I asked for a certain feel and playability, in a certain (low) price range, and they found me the perfect one! They even fixed it up for me (usually a paid service) for free. The owner and employees are really nice, and the store has a family atmosphere. I do wish they had more selection of items, but they will order pretty much anything you want, so that makes up for it.
Overpriced, poor selection, and very poor service (an employee was ridiculously patronizing to my friend’s teenaged son). Several acquaintances have voiced similar experiences. I will never go back.
I never thought I’ll get such a horrible service and attitude. Would never step into this shop and certainly discourage anyone from visiting it.
Lack of professionalism and client orientation.

Overprice and not professional work. That’s what I experienced, and I learned my lesson to trust my guts when, in the beginning of the discussion about the work that should be done, I heard the comment. I asked to defret my bass and asked how much it would cost. The answer was 150$ ( another place I asked $80-90, but I could not do it immediately. Also, the location was less convenient for me), Leon asked $150 for defreting , because he will have to remove the string !!!! Of course, you have to remove strings. It’s part of the job. When I checked the bass, which I just got while checking it at Leon’s shop, I realized that I also have to change the electronics and pickups. I asked Leon if he could do all the jobs before November 1 because this is when I’m flying and need the bass way way before that. He agreed.
I gave him a bass on Sept 5th. I got electronics a month later on Oct 3rd. Nothing was done by that time. The bass was just lying there.
When we were discussing defretting, he said he would refill the empty frets groves with wood and asked me what I want dark or light wood. I asked for dark. In the end, he felt it with an epoxy and did a sloppy job. Part of the frets aren’t filled with epoxy.
Electronic weren’t salder properly and when I explained what the problem was and asked him to resolved it he replied that he spend already so much time on my bass and can’t fix it immediately and I have to wait until the middle of next week, knowing that I’m flying in the begging of the week and can’t pick it up because of my work. On top of that, the setup of the bass was horrible. The action was at maxim height it can be. When I mentioned that, he replied that he didn’t want the string to touch the fretboard !!! What kind of noncensence? On top of that, he accused me of being dishonest with him about the date I need my bass. I still don’t understand how.
I paid him in full what he asked me when we had a deal, fulfilling my part of the deal. I paid $380, and he reminded me that it was $390( which I forgot) .
I was so frastreted and didn’t want to deal with this greedy man.
Until the end, I was keeping hope in my heart that he at least would ask to pardon him and reduce the price, but there was no sorry, let’s fix it or something. He doesn’t care.

I had planned to get my 18 yr old nephew the same drum kit for a Christmas gift at Guitar Center.
As well as an acoustic guitar.
But, I had an entire change of heart as I had planned to get the same drum kit that another customer attempted to purchase, after reading his review he described his awful experience. And now I’m ordering everything online!
Reviews that Express a similar experience very much influence my decision to purchase, or not from that particular business.

Poor customer service
Service is awful and They never have anything in stock. There drum products selection is very poor but even then you wouldn’t know because nothing is ever in stock!!
You would think if you’re gonna sell full drum kits (which they do) they would have drum heads to go with them right? Not this location. Absolutely the worst location I have ever been to.
I usually end up ordering my stuff online but when I need something last minute or pretty quick I usually go to the store but after the 5th time of them not having what I need I’m just gonna give up. Keep in mind these are common items EVERY music store should have. The worst part is when I ask the employees to see if they have something in stock and they tell me they don’t know if their inventory is correct. Obviously that’s a problem but they acted like thats completely normal.
I’m done with guitar center’s Gainesville location. Needless to say this location is Absolute trash!
This is review is specifically in reference to a repair experience, so please keep that in mind (it has nothing to do with lessons, sales, or anything else). I bought a brand new guitar about 1.5 years ago and I play pretty heavy handed and notice that my frets were getting pretty deep dents and causing buzz. Doing a little research, I learned that this can be fixed with a crown and level, but if the frets are nickel, then the problem will just eventually come back. Thinking long term, I decided for a whole re-fret, but with stainless steel. I called on the phone to first verify that this repair could be done (in hindsight, I probably also should have asked if this was something that they had and previous experience actually doing) and this was confirmed; it was also confirmed that the repair would include crown, level, and full setup. I asked how long it would take, and the answer was about two weeks. It took over 7 weeks to complete the repair (and yes, I did call many times over that period to get updates), but that was by far the least of the problems. When I got the guitar back, the re-fret job done was absolutely terrible. The new frets were installed, but the dressing on them was atrocious. There were bad, deep tooling marks everywhere on the frets, suggesting very little, if any, polishing was done; several of the fret ends had not been properly filed down and smoothed out, and there were several bad dead spots indicating a lack of proper leveling. I didn’t put up a fight, I just wanted my guitar back, so I paid and left and now I’m taking on fixing up the frets myself (which will undoubtedly be many hours of work). A re-fret is definitely a very extensive repair (especially with stainless steel), which is why I wanted a professional to do it, but after this experience, I could have saved myself a lot of time and money by just doing it myself. To be fair, it may just be the case that something like this is just a little over their heads, but if that is the case, they shouldn’t have indicated they could do this work. If you are looking to get some fretwork done, please beware, and do a little a research because you may find it’s better just to do it yourself. Remember, no one cares about your guitar as much as you do.
