Great place! It has a wonderful, old-school music feel to it yet they had all the new stuff too, along with well kept used instruments and they were quick to get anything they didn’t carry. Fantastic atmosphere and awesome owner/employees
They didn’t have what we needed but called another shop to find it! Thanks
Great customer service
Staff is super helpful
I checked the website for the address, the website said currently open closes at 5:00 or whatever. I needed guitar strings so I decided to make the drive which is an hour each way. Get there, park and walked to the store. “Closed” !!! Sign said they are moving. Guess I learned to call in advance.
Good place to check out some instruments. Bought a Fender Zabrano a few yrs back, great guitar.
There’s one guy there (Chet ? Chester?) who is really nice. The older gentleman comes across like he’d rather be in his office or something rather than dealing with the public. Seems he can’t keep young and talented help either, which may also be a result of his extremely unapproachable personality. I agree with the other reviewer … Decatur needs another music store.
It’s music for crying out loud … the atmosphere does not lend itself to the encouragement of instrument try out. It always seems so cold and uninviting. Not to mention that the selection is poor. No used instruments either.
Rude did not want to wait on customer like it was bothering them
Exelente

A very large selection of collectibles! Nice employees too!
I love Total Nostalgia. They are always super nice and fun when I go there and I find new (old but new to me) treasures every time I go. I live 45 minutes away and its always worth the trip.
Great place and Great service.
First time there. Lots and lots of comic books, cards, collectibles and things you remember growing up .No matter who was or into what you can find it there.
Little high but got nice place.
Nice place. Friendly.
They are a great store they just take forever to respond back take this morning I’m sure they get lots of service but when I think Renee is her name great lady said we will let you know at 6 when they closed i was almost there when messaged they need to reply to people just a little faster is all
It saddens me that I’m not getting that great customer service that other folks are getting seems to me that I’ve been getting brushed away for the past 3 days, since I’m not from around the area it’s very difficult to speak to someone to have an item shipped off to me.. hopefully that changes soon
Never open during listed business hours and I’ve tried going twice (30 min drive for me) will not be trying a 3rd time. They will lose my business for good .better off ebaying what you want and I hate saying that cause I support local
6. Eddie Jones Piano Tuning & Rebuild
Address: 2311 Kirby Bridge Rd #3803, Decatur, AL 35603 , Trinity , Alabama , United States
Very friendly and knowledgeable. Pedal, amps, and high end guitars…very much needed in this area!!
The new owners are passionate about guitar and music, and they strive to offer a unique experience in their store!
Great to see the iconic Emiron Music continue for the new generation of music people! If you want to talk to gentle people about music, guitars and all that implies, walk in to the Yellow Guitar. Very knowledgeable and their shop looks bigger inside than outside. Lots of gear.

I really enjoyed recording an album here. If you want top notch recordings just talk to Jeremy Stephens!
Awesome place!! If you want the best experience while recording then definitely look into booking with the Clearwave recording Studio!
Jeremy Stephens was the understudy to the world-famous producer, Johnny Sandlin, who produced the Allman Brothers. Not sure if he wants for me to share all this on his Google page but the truth is the truth.
Jeremy is one of the Best Music Producers in the world!
He is affordable and really likes what he does, which shows in the final produce.
Clearwave Recording Studio is easy to load in/out and the sound quality is phenomenal.
If you are looking for a place to record, I would highly suggest Jeremy and Clearwave!
DO NOT SHOW UP UNANNOUNCED!!!!!!
11. DG Market
Address: 22671 AL-24, Trinity, AL 35673 , Trinity , Alabama , United States
There is a young lady named Alyssa and every time I go in there and she is working I always get treated so sweetly and I really feel she means it when she says have a great day. The prices are a little higher than Walmart but the convenient location is a jewel for the area.
Its nice an convenient when I’m on my way home
The Dollar General Store, in East Lawrence. It’s an okay shopping spots. Kind of like a convenience store. They need to offer more selection like other Dollar General stores in the area does. And they’re always out of Kraft Mayo… LOL
One of the best DGs around
Rude people.
I came in for a gallon of tea there was none. Went to get some Hi-C instead there was none. I can keep going but the moral of the story is your shelves are empty, and you have no employees to fill them.. Seems like you put in self check out to eliminate employees, but when I was there no one was using the self check out and there was a long line at the one employee in the store.
Workers act like the shoppers are trash! They are trash ! Very Rude

My favorite little retro shop in town! So many cute items and a great selection of records!
LOVE this funky little shop! I found out about it last month, and am addicted. They have the best selection of vinyl, tees, jewelry, crystals, and other fun items! Cant wait to get back there soon!!!
Always love stopping in here when I am in Decatur! The teas are made with a french press which is so incredibly cool and unlike other coffee shops near Huntsville! Plus the selection is so cool!! Would recommend coming by. Only knocking a star because since post-COVID i havent seen anyone wear a mask.
Great record store. Nice tiny little shop found some great punk and metal here and a lot of stuff I have never seen on vinyl before. Wish I had brought more money because I would have a bunch of records to bring home. Service is also extremely nice.
Cute store but I’ll never shop here again. I was given a gift card for Christmas, which was purchased mid-December, and didn’t realize it had an expiration date. This wouldn’t have been a problem, except the expiration date was April 1st, a mere four months after it was purchased. The problem isn’t the expiration date itself, it’s the fact that it’s not even six months out + we’re in the middle of a global pandemic. It’s not the easiest to get out and use gift cards at the moment. According to the store owner, the money “can’t be held that long” as it’s “unfair to others who sell in the store,” despite the fact that the gift card was paid for, in cash, and should be treated as if it’s cash. This is bad business practice and has turned me off as a customer.
13. Hallman’s Music

Sweetest people. I actually went to a place in Decatur and they did not have what I needed called them and they said they had it but I was not going to make it before close. They told me to come on they would wait and still provided great customer service. Thank you so much!!! Will be back and recommend them to everyone!!!
They were excellent!! So nice, kind and absoultly perfect service!! They are definitely much more than 5 stars, and I really recommend to come to their store!!!
I rented an alto saxophone from this place. It plays well and is very high quality. They are so kind and are very welcoming.
I appreciate that the owner works with a college student’s budget when tuning instruments.
Owner is very crass……that’s fine, we all have are personalities……BUT maintenance insurance is supposedly included in the (higher than anyone else’s) monthly rental fees and when I took the sax in for maintenance they wanted to charge my just over $200 for things that were supposedly covered. Not cool.
Lady was very rude, mean, and laughed at my mother tripping over a step.
By far the worst experience of my life. My daughter joined Beginners Band at her school to play the flute. Hallman’s was suggested by the band instructor so we went there for her flute. Upon arrival they quoted me a $1200 flute and when I said we would not be purchasing a new flute because she was not 100% sure if this was her passion I was told about the lease to own program. What a mistake? I paid first and last month payments and returned the instrument within 2 weeks and was advised that my request for my last month payment would be considered a refund. This company is a scam and wants you to pay for a service that is not rendered. I was even told that the instrument had to be sent off for cleaning and inspection and that costs them money however this is something that they do in-house. When the report comes back is when Mr. Hallman will determine if I am entitled to a refund!
14. Perfect Sound Studio
Address: 401 14th St SW, Decatur, AL 35601 , Trinity , Alabama , United States
Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Not pushy. They have everything. Nice selection of brands. Experienced technicians. Lessons upstairs. Everything you need for guitar.
Great place, with a friendly, knowledgeable staff, and a good selection of instruments.
This place had the most knowledgeable staff and trade-in you like family they went to no ends to help the customer or me and my son and knew everything there was to know about what he wanted I recommend anybody that is interested in guitars to go there instead of one of the big conglomerates there are because their personable service is better than just somebody that doesn’t know what they’re talking about.
Wide variety of stringed instruments. Helpful but not pushy staff. Only saw one acoustic\electric bass. Good deals to be found from a local business but do your research.
Would’ve been 5. Almost everyone was great, especially the guy that rang me up, and my experience was mostly enjoyable, but grey goatee was rude when I asked for his opinion on some Marshall amps.
This place don’t let you rock the hell out like I do so I feel unwelcome and very bored! Just let people rock out
Guy that kinda looks like Santa clause is so rude
$10 for a used box. I could understand that but saying you can’t spare 50 cents of bubble wrap because you ship too much? Sad. Next time I’ll go to the big box who said they’ll give me a box for free.
This used to be a good guitar shop. Now, it’s mediocre at best. If you’re not in the market for either a Taylor acoustic guitar or something cheap that’s a bit overpriced, you’re wasting your time going in this store. The strings are double the price I pay online. I would pay a little more for local service, but I’m not going to pay double. They don’t have most of the stuff that they show on their website, and they have a lot of small items in the store that are not on their website. The service is not friendly at all. The man behind the counter should try a smile once in a while.
They better get it together or they’ll be going the way some of the other local shops went, and sooner rather than later. The franchise and online stores will swallow them whole.
17. Matata Effect
Address: 69 Harold Dr, Decatur, AL 35603 , Trinity , Alabama , United States
Great place to shop your musical needs, I highly recommend visiting! Connie is very helpful and a pleasure to do business with!
Friendly and very helpful
Very good selection for a small shop, The lady was Very friendly and helpful! They carry a lot of unusual items that you probably won’t find in other stores.
Excellent locally owned and operated business!
Has variety of instruments and types of music. Carrie is a bubbly personality there
Over priced. Only good if you need to grab a pack of strings or something small last minute.
The people are not friendly, the merchandise is overpriced, some equipment is not even new (and it is damaged) although they don’t disclose that information, and getting around in a wheelchair is next to impossible. The lady at the register didn’t know anything about the equipment. It is definitely worth the drive to go somewhere else.
this place is burnt!
I felt watched and rushed. Two women were working there that day, one was very friendly. I did not feel comfortable asking questions and also it was so hot in there.
20. Roden Surplus Imports Inc
Address: 24550 County Rd 460, Trinity, AL 35673 , Trinity , Alabama , United States
This was my first visit to Rodens. I was impressed with the variety of merchandise, especially the Christmas section. I’ll go again
Great variety and fair prices
Worth the drive
Selection is great! Always find what I’m looking for and customer service is excellent. I’ve been coming here for the last 5 or 6 years for Christmas tree decorations and wreath supplies.
Wide variety of items you wouldn’t normally be able to find.
Very large selection of wreath building supplies, but overpriced.
Can get flowers an floral arrangements
Great selection of different flowers and party items… Service not so good the lady at the counter took a customer in front of me when I was standing next in line.. Instead of handing me my bag..Another employee bagged it and layed it on the counter.. I will not be going back..
Plenty of other stores to shop at without risking contracting COVID-19. Not a single member of their staff was wearing a mask, and interacted with customers 1 foot from their faces. Not surprised the surrounding area is a COVID-19 hot spot.
