Great addition for the people of North Kohala. Many new Ross items that were donated and can find a new home for very good prices.
The service agent is nice and always willing to provide a discount if you are on a slim budget.
I always give more than my purchase price because the agency trains those who need a hand up, not a hand out and want to learn job skills.
The Goodwill store in Waikoloa Village is very clean, organized and majority of the things are very lightly used or brand new with tags on them. The staff is very friendly with Aloha. I think they are comparable to a Ross store I got some new clothes that was lightly used and one still had the tag on it, for which I got it for a good price.
I will be back!
This is a fantastic thrift store. Clean, well stocked, and a very friendly staff.
Manager locked the door at 5:25pm ♀️
Very bad customer service, one of the cashiers put stuff that I didn’t buy into my cart, and I payed for it all without noticing, I got a refund for the stuff that I didn’t buy but only got half of my money back, very rude employees too. The manager was also rude towards me when I made a complaint. DO NOT GO HERE!
Closed Tuesdays but didn’t bother to update their hours.
5. Uila Records
Address: 65-1227 Opelo Rd, Waimea, HI 96743 , Waikoloa , Hawaii , United States
Really fun find in Waimea. We happened in on a Wednesday, and they had live music and beer/wine to enjoy. Great used inventory that didn’t feel picked over. Ended up taking home a bunch of albums, and they were super nice and gave us a box to pack them in.
shop owner was very helpful! i love the decor and design of the shop. will definitely be stopping by again!
Very aesthetic place with a huge variety of records.
Great selection of vinyl. However very unfriendly person behind the counter. Did not acknowledge me. Just sat back behind the counter. No smile, no aloha.
6. Hawaiian Ukulele & Guitar
Address: Beach Drive # J-4, Waikoloa Village, HI 96738 , Waikoloa , Hawaii , United States
The absolute best place to get a handmade Hawaiian Ukulele.
Great place, great people! Learned how to play ukulele in minutes with great entertainment by unkle uke 🙂
Had a great time today finding the right Uke for me! Super helpful and knowledgeable staff..amazing selection..
The shop two doors down has some of his Ukeleles for sale, it’s called “Da Big Bags.” We picked one up for our daughter with a case. The Ukulele shop is out of business but he has a Hilo location apparently.
Aloha! This store looks to be permanently closed. Doors were locked, closed sign up, and no fixtures left, only a few boxes. If this changes, let me know and I’ll remove this post. Mahalo!
I spent several hours looking for a ukulele, at least 1.5 in this store. The sales person was approachable, helpful, and provided good space to let me tinker. Where he fell short was his knowledge and the store fell way short on pricing. I purchased a Kala tri back tenor guitar for 567.00 after the price was lowered from original asking price of about 100 more. This price included a uke crazy hard bag.
He made it sound like a good deal. It was not. The same guitar list online for 400 and the bag is about 50. I understand storefronts have increased cost. But $100 more?? To top it off I was told the guitar was spruce top, with a mango inlay and acacia every where else. This is not true. It is rosewood not acacia. These are very different woods and while I could not afford a Koa instrument I was at least hoping to be in the same family of wood.
So here I am at the airport unable to save myself $100 for a misrepresented uke. The final kick in the pants was that the listed msrp or the uke on the Kala website was 567.
Make sure you price check here thoroughly and research the instrument yourself. While I will be coming back, I will not be buying another instrument from this company.
Had a pretty bad experience in the Waikaloa store. Really shocked how I was treated by the staff running the store.
