Great service, fixed more than I paid for just because it needed to be done.
This is the place! Pros.
This is an amazing place. For the beginner-me…to my cousin- skilled player. The amount of respect, knowledge, and professionalism is above and beyond all else. Meeting Chris, and Wes gave me the feeling of true Ohana. Tuned my Uke, and also showed me a few things that I need to keep my skill set progressing. Fair pricing, great people. I’m living in Hawaii ‘Kai and would drive from anywhere on the island to use their services.
Great local place with good service and very reasonable prices.
These guys fixed my instrument when it was damaged on my flight. Then they said I overpaid and here is your $50 back. Amazing !
I deal exclusively with Music Center when purchasing musical instruments , supplies,. and repairs. Staff is friendly, knowledgable, skilled, and trustworthy….much needed factors in carrying out every-day activities.
Best place to go very helpful and knowlegeable
Always has what I’m looking for
A great shop. Much to look at , temptation everywhere for a musician
They don’t buy used instrument
I didnt know you can’t be laughed at cause you didn’t have enough cash on you … How low class can you be ….

Good selection of new and used instruments and very helpful staff
Terrific service in hea da guys all maika’i
Apropos name…Good Guys Music. They truly are Good Guys.
Helpful staff but mostly cheaper instruments.
Not the biggest but was equipped with good guitars
Parking can be a challenge. Decent selection of used gear.
Won’t shop in a place requiring a mask. even though I have bought stuff in there back during the time that covid was new and there were no mask mandates. Sad truth is I try to shop small local stores especially for music equipment but I will not be available to shop here anymor.
Bought a pedal there while holidaying in Hawaii, it occurred to me the next day I should buy a good ol’ American pedal, instead of a Chinese pedal, ecspecially while in the states. The staff didnt feel the same, and seemed that it was a big deal to make an exchange. I wouldn’t go back.
Great overall experience. Staff was patient and helpful.
Really great personable staff who are true experts on the instruments from first hand experience, the kind of classic music shop that seems like a dying breed these days. Possibly the widest selection of ukulele models in any store anywhere in the world (though they are all Kalas).
Best music store on Oahu. Everyone is so helpful and they have the best inventory and cheapest prices.
(Special shout out to Ted!)
I can only speak to the selection of music books which was sparse, but the help I received was top notch. I was greeted immediately and directed right away to what I was looking for.
Small shop but great staff.
These guys are great always professional I like easy music !!!
Disappointed in guitar diagnostic and repair. First time I brought my guitar in, the guy didn’t know what was causing the buzzing, so I paid the diagnostic fee knowing he tried.
Later at home, I found a loose brace and took it back for a repair, I’m wondering if he even looked inside the guitar.. Again I paid the repair fee for the loose brace, but again he said he couldn’t fix the buzzing and sent me home still disappointed.
Again, through trial and error at home, I noticed a small crack on the surface that I could easily feel on the inside.. And with a little pressure on that spot, the buzzing goes away! Surely he missed this problem too..so I will be going elsewhere for diagnostic and repairs from now on.
Sold me a broken piece of equipment and did nothing to remedy the situation
Save your time and money. Faka’s couldn’t wait a minute for me to get to the store for a store pickup. Go to Sweetwater instead!

I play guitar for a living so naturally, hiring the guitarist for our wedding ceremony fell to me. In my experience, there are “professional”musicians and then there are PROFESSIONAL musicians; Ravi may be the most professional guitarist I’ve ever encountered. In addition to being a skilled, sensitive, and intuitive musician, Ravi was exceptionally responsive, communicative, prompt, punctual, and proactive. Of all our vendors for our wedding, Ravi was easily the easiest to work with. Ravi set the tone for our ceremony, literally, and I couldn’t be happier to have found him. My only complaint is that I was too busy doing the whole wedding thing to hang out with him, because he’s just so pleasant to be around
We had Ravi perform ukulele at our wedding ceremony and he was incredible! He was extremely responsive leading up to our event, and went above and beyond to learn our specific music requests – and to play them well! He is very talented and made our ceremony very special and memorable. We highly recommend hiring Ravi!
My wife and I recently had the pleasure of having Ravi play the ukulele at our 10-year vow renewal on the stunning beaches of Hawaii. Ravi’s talent and professionalism shone throughout the entire ceremony. His music added an extra layer of beauty and magic to our special day.
One thing that stood out was Ravi’s versatility as a musician. His willingness to learn new songs for our ceremony was a testament to his dedication and commitment to his craft.
In addition to his musical talents, Ravi was a hit with our children, keeping them entertained and engaged, allowing my wife and I to focus on each other as we recited our vows. He asked my children what their favorite song was and ended up playing them the Paw Patrol theme song!!! His warm, friendly nature made him an instant hit with our family.
Communication with Ravi was seamless. Despite the distance, planning our music with him was a breeze. He was always responsive, understanding, and accommodating to our needs.
On a personal level, Ravi is kind, humble, and genuinely passionate about his work. It’s rare to find someone who combines such exceptional talent with such a great personality.
We wholeheartedly recommend Ravi for any event. His performance will not only meet, but exceed your expectations. Thank you, Ravi, for making our day even more special with your music and presence.

Amazing group of people!! It’s really good to come to a guitar shop and be able to geek out with people that share the same passion for the instrument like you do. I can’t say the same for the other major music stores on island such as Guitar Center. You can’t beat Dan’s guitars customer service and genuine guitar loving people. I will definitely be coming more often to visit them. Especially with all the unique and exclusive products they carried such as PRS guitars, Synergy amps, Surh custom guitars and many more.
Dan’s guitars is probably one of the better stores to shop for a guitar and a ukulele
Brilliant shop with a kind atmosphere where every worker is helpful!!
Went there to sell 15″Yamaha Speakers no can
Nice people, small place, good selection.
Dan’s guitar it’s really Joe’s guitar if you want to get down to details which actually guitar Emily’s friend the one with the platinum hair is the one really a flute player Dan just happened to see you in the right place right time it’s now stands as guitar Dan’s they got it backwards
Had two patch cables made for 40 bucks while I was here/on the road playing. I’m not sure what was wrong with them but when used on my board my volume was cut in half and none of drive pedals worked properly. I’ve been playing professionally full time for two years and part time for 12. This was discovered that night at the gig in front of 500 people. I called and no answer. Left a message no call back. Messaged on facebook no message back. Emailed no email back. Avoid.
I walked in and asked for a bass tuner. I’m not the most experienced musician. He told me that it doesn’t matter if it’s a bass tuner or a general tuner. Turns out, it very much does matter, and I am now out $20. They will get you in and out quick, but make sure you know your stuff before you walk in or they will take advantage.
Went in here to get a new guitar so I could start leaning how to play. I decided on a preowned guitar. It was labeled and sold to me as a Fender Stratocaster. After my friend checked it out when they were visiting they discovered that it was actually a squire and worth a fraction of what I paid at the store. I brought it in to talk to a worker about it. I came in asking for it to be verified and if it is found to be a squire scam then I was going to ask for a refund. I explained my dilemma to the worker and was met with what seemed to be a smug attitude. He insisted that it was a genuine strat but said that he would have Dan, the store owner, give it a look. He also explained to me that this was part of a consignment sale which I was not notified at all in store. I came back after Dan had time to give it a look and he agreed with me that it was in fact a squire and whichever employee received it had failed to verify its quality. That employee was the one that sold it to me and the one I had spoken to prior. Dan had then offered to sell it as consignment for me, but that I wouldn’t be able to get near what I paid since it’s not worth that much, or he could give me store credit towards a replacement. I asked for a refund since this was a case of misadvertisement and nearly fraud. He denied this as it was a consignment sale, which I’ll reiterate that I wasn’t notified of that at time of sale. Contrary to his employee, Dan was understanding and I would say he is the only reason to go to the store. He’s obviously passionate about music and spreading that joy to others. I was looking for a fender Stratocaster since I was new and I knew little to nothing about guitars. He showed me a guitar that was at the value of the store credit. He said it was a Japan made Fender Stratocaster. I was grateful and given new breath to learn the instrument. After further inspection it turns out to be an ESP Grassroots. Once again, worth far less than what it was at the store. Now I am out a lot of money and no longer have an interest in learning music. I would prefer to have my money back bur considering how I was treated it seems like scams go over better than legitimacy in the overall of this shop. I hope it gets better.

The community at Gather Cowork & Events, where Sounds Better is housed, brings an uplifting experience and reinvents a refreshed energy to what has traditionally been a spotlit, timed, and pressured studio interaction. At SBS, it is a lot more relaxed and has a talk story around the table kind of feel. Audio, 3-point videography, and advanced editing are all services offered. I’m lucky to be a part of this studio and connect with the incredible entrepreneurs, audiobook recorders and writers, content creators, health advocates, and start up businesses that make up this space.

Address: By Appointment Only, 3555 Harding Ave, Honolulu, HI 96816 , Waimānalo Beach , Hawaii , United States
Saw my dream Cornerstone ukulele on their website and couldn’t wait to see it in person. The owner (Shawn) went out of his way to meet me over the weekend and gave me all the time necessary to evaluate the instrument. I felt very welcome and flew back home with my dream ukulele the next day. While I had my mind set on this particular ukulele this place has many custom and one of a kind instruments from the best luthiers in the world. An amazing experience to see and enjoy these instruments first hand.
Saw this place in the Hawaiian Airlines in-flight magazine, Hana Hou Magazine and had to check it out. The showroom is amazing! Very classy feel with some of the best full custom ukuleles in the world and from builders that I never even knew existed. Professional and friendly service and if you’re in to vintage ukes, this place is better than most museums…

Most amazing family owned business. The Ferrari of ukuleles
Best ukuleles in the universe
I brought my ukulele for repairs and it will possibly be months to get it back due to a repair backlog so I can’t comment on that. While there, we were offered a tour. Mr. Fred Kamaka, at 93, presented a lively history of ukulele and the Kamaka brand (in it’s 102nd year!). His son followed with a tour of the factory while explaining techniques and showing us samples of each part of the instrument. Not only was the 1 1/2 hour tour well done, but it was free! I highly recommend a visit!
995달러부터 주문제작만 받더라구요. 투어는 월~금 오전만, 주말은 쉬구요..
Polite and friendly family business. Wouldn’t buy a ukulele anywhere else.
