This was our third stay here and it is always a pleasure. The rustic ranch decor is beautiful the chicken fried steak is to die for (have always had a wonderful meal here) and the staff are so pleasant and friendly and just down home people. Love this place!!
French dip was absolutely amazing!! Awesome atmosphere with very friendly staff. I highly recommend stopping here for lunch or dinner!
Brought my son to the River Rock for lunch yesterday during a full day of fishing.
Our waiter, Neal, is AMAZING. Best waiter I’ve had in, maybe, my life. (I’m 49, so I’ve had a few different waiters over the years.)
Food was very good, prices reasonable. Staff and service OUTSTANDING.
My son was still talking about Neal when we got home 9 hours later. He told me, at one point during our meal, “We need to come here more often, Dad.”
We only live a couple hours away, so we probably will come more often.
Keep up the good work River Rock and Neal.
Good food, friendly service! We stop and eat here every summer while in Colorado, and have never been disappointed!!
Good food
Quick stop for a meal and the staff were hustling to accommodate lots of travelers. Food was average, hospitality plentiful, and atmosphere spot on for this part of Colorado. Would recommend for folks making a pit stop or in the area.
Extremely disappointing…. Had cold food when brought to the table. When it came time to pay the bill, they asked if I was local. When I replied that I was not, they did absolutely nothing to fix the problem with the cold food. Will not go back again and will not recommend this place to anyone.
After checking out ratings of all restaurants in Walden and since we were staying at the Antler Inn my wife and I decided to check out the River Rock. We’ve been there before and it wasn’t a disappointment…btw, we were in a suit… (C)… more of that on a different review.
We showed up at ~ 5:30pm and were seated right away. Very nice! The server was the bomb, he was very friendly and was very pleasant.
Now to the food…
My wife ordered the 16oz prime Rib medium rare.
I ordered the 12oz prime rib MR as well.
When we were served I immediately notice they looked different… oh well, I thought… I’m hungry, so I chowed down. The prime rib was cold, room temperature at best. The vegetable “medley” was cold and obviously poured out of a frozen bag. (Cold)
So back to the prime rib… I had a lot of trouble cutting it! it had tendons or gristle throughout the slab of meat.
When I did finally get a price that looked good I dipped it in the provided AuJus which was cold.
Not getting any better so far.
I moved on to the Baked Potato which was the most heated food on my plate!!! Still. I dig into it expecting some “stream” to rise up… nothing, at least it was semi warm!!! (Score)!!!!!!!
Now to my wife’s dinner… after seeing what I was going thorough she was asking if I would like a piece of her prime rib…. I was delicious… but why? What was the difference???! We don’t know.
I totally expected better, especially for the money… I couldn’t even finish my meal…
Lunch great! Everything other meal service disappointing.
3. Stockman Bar & Grill
Address: 441 Main St, Walden, CO 80480 , Walden , Colorado , United States
Great friends awesome atmosphere couldn’t find a better Watering Hole
Just a home town tavern
Entering this everybody knows everybody bar as strangers, we were immediatly greeted with warm welcome from the regulars gathered at the bar. the bartender hollared the specials out while offering us a spot at the bar smackdab in the middle of the other patrons. The big ol’ boy at the end intoduced most everyone and brought us up to speed on the on going debate between them all and invited us to join in.
The beer was teeth cracking cold and the bloody mary was made to perfection. we ended up playing in a in house pool torny and by the time our DD dragged us out of there, we felt as we had been patrons for years.
Like stepping back into the ’70s. Awesome
Hamburgers are great scummy place
First time I’ve been cut off for not being loud and drunk. Next time I’ll put more camo on and yell about my snow machine….atleast the 12 year old kid had a good time coming in and out to talk with mommy.
We attempted to eat here on June 7 while on a bicycle trip but were unsuccessful. This is clearly a stockman’s go-to place and we really didn’t fit in and were ignored while we were there. To be fair, it was busy and there probably wasn’t enough staff but we certainly didn’t feel welcome while there.
The atmosphere is the only part of stockman bar and grill that was the one and only good thing it has going for it
4. Mansker Station Pub & Pizza
Address: 35151 CO-14, Walden, CO 80480 , Walden , Colorado , United States
food was good, service was good and had no complaints
Good brick oven pizza, little gem on the outskirts of Walden
An hour long wait for a pizza, you be the judge.
A phone number that works would be nice.
Call ahead of time and talk with a human. The web site hours are wrong, the message on the answering machine is wrong, even the sign on the door is wrong. NEVER try this place before 5:00 PM.
5. HB Woodsongs
Address: 3101 28th St, Boulder, CO 80301 , Walden , Colorado , United States
There is an instrument repair shop in back. Had a trumpet and trombone repaired. Great work
A great shop in every respect. As nice as they are knowledgeable. The highly skilled work that Matt has done on my Collings guitars is absolutely impeccable. It is really nice to be able to trust that your prized instruments are in such good hands. My unreserved highest recommendation.
Helpful staff and a great selection.
Small but nice musical instruments stores. They don’t have a lot of stuff (my only complaint), but you be able to find some accessories and also some high-end acoustic guitars. Salespersons are friendly and they also have a music school in this place.
Go to place in Boulder for all of my acoustic instrument needs. Good people, excellent service, nice atmosphere.
Attentive staff. Good selection. Prices are average to high.
Very friendly staff, unfortunately way over-priced. You can find some of the exact same items on ebay or Amazon for less than half the price at this store.
6. Wild Acoustic Music Co.
Address: 28225 CO-74, Evergreen, CO 80439 , Walden , Colorado , United States
Haven’t been in a while because I live so far away, but I have never found another music store on par with this one. Hopefully once I graduate and start making that career moneh I can come back and visit and maybe get another awesome acoustic guitar.
Love this place. The owners are incredible!
7. Monkton Guitars
Address: 1505 W 1st Ave A, Broomfield, CO 80020 , Walden , Colorado , United States
David and Dave were great! They are friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to share what they know. I felt no pressure to buy any specific guitar. They were only interested in finding the right instrument for me.
Monkton has a great selection of guitars with a wide number of brands. More so than other shops that I visited in the area. 10/10 I highly recommend!
Totally awesome shop. Great stuff, cool vibe. No need for a big box store
Small shop with an excellent selection of new and vintage guitars. No pressure from the knowledgable and friendly staff. I have bought two guitars there within a week, and I clearly need to ration my visits.
great place to try and buy, they know their stuff and are super nice and willing to help you find what you’re looking for. they have great recommendations and will let you play whatever for however long. very cheap for repairs and guitar work, much cheaper than other places. got my frets leveled/crowned and it sounds fantastic, however they did kind of gauge/scratch the neck on several frets. sucks, but not a huge deal as it’s not a high end guitar and the price was right ($60). again, sounds great but i would be weary of bringing a higher end model in as they weren’t very careful about taping off the neck to avoid cosmetic damage.
Best shop around!
do not take your guitars here for repair! simple jobs will end up being 2 hours in labor charges. they will take your working guitar and send you home with a non-working guitar. they will mix up the wiring on the pots. they will give you pots too large so your knobs have a huge gap underneath. unbelievably unprofessional and incapable.
EDIT: The business response is not a fair respresentation. First guitar, volume pots wired backwards. Second guitar, repair only lasted the car ride home. Second fix only lasted the next car ride home. Third fix, incorrect tone mapping and too large of pots. Every single trip a problem. Why would I go back?
8. Main Street Music
Address: 609 Main St, Windsor, CO 80550 , Walden , Colorado , United States
Music Instructions on almost any instrument. Happy place to learn.
Main Street music is an amazing and wonderful place to learn music the teachers are amazing there starting with Adina the owner and an Amazing musician with a heart of gold next to rebbecca a piano and violin and a gutair teacher who is an amazing teacher to have next in Anna an amazing person who will in prove your musical inpact and has a great time then there is Mr.kim I really don’t know how to spell his name but every one I have heard says mr.kim who will blow your socks of he has fire hands on the piano then there is casie I don’t know how to spell his name but he is an amazing at gutair and you will love being his student then there is kristy I have never had her as a teacher but has a heart of gold. All of these teachers are an amazing in each of there own special way so if you want to learn music come on down because you will have an amazing time.
Cannot recommend Main Street Music enough. Great instructors, amazing flexibility with our schedules and an extrememly welcoming environment.
Very helpful with new violin and restringing. Tried lessons and decided not to continue there. No progress in lessons over 5 weeks at $90. You might have a better experience but we would not choose them again.
I went in today to check the place out. The woman working looked at me like I was crazy. I had no help with anything. Awful place to send children or anyone for music lessons.
9. Music Go Round
Address: 8055 W Bowles Ave #2C, Littleton, CO 80123 , Walden , Colorado , United States
Ok, So I called and Asked if they had any .10 gauge banjo strings said they did. I went to the store and they didn’t. I was about to leave(I really came to play this instrument I had my eye on) and one of the employees grabbed some .10 gauge guitar strings, cut them, and wrapped them for me. Alot of effort for a small sale! But really grateful because the only other place is Guitar Center and there all the way across town, and there strings cost and arm n a leg. Really happy with the service. And there’s a female employee their that’s really cute and good at the guitar, so that’s always an added bonus.
Great experience! August took care of me on my 1st time in. EXCELLENT!!!!
Former employee here letting you know this is a really good spot to check out especially if you like guitars and used effects. The employees here are great and they make the store what it is! They are all super passionate about music and you can always bet on there being some good gear here.
Musical Go Round is a great place to find certain used gear at a decent price if you know what you are looking for. It is a fun place to look around. I have bought guitars, sound and drum gear over there. I like the fact that they have a variety of instruments / other gear there too. They also do guitar set ups here too. I have to give Doug props for making my old Squire Affinity play nice again.
Love the store !!Been going there for 15 years. New owner seems to be a straight forward Stand-up guy, they said to smash this guitar my guitar tech made it play beautifully
Great shop! You can expect to pay a little more than average for used fear here, but they are VERY thorough with inspections before they buy. You can trust you will get good gear. Use as a last resort for selling though. They will give you next to nothing for your used gear. They have to make money right. Overall, staff is very friendly and helpful and new gear rolls in pretty consistently which is good and bad news for those of us with incorrigible G.A.S.
Do not buy anything used. The warranty is only good for sore credit. They sell you something broken or on the edge of broken and then you can only get store credit. The staff is very friendly and helpful but the used products are poor quality and worthless. I lost $200 to this store. The USB midi port did not work at all, wouldn’t even turn on. The akai mpk-25 controller stopped working properly after one month. I took very good care of these items. I would not waste your time on this scamming “must-be struggling” establishment. Especially if you are serious about music.
Was just in the store upgrading my daughters amp not realizing you close at 4pm. Innocently thought you were open till 5 atleast like most places. Besides the miss understanding with hours. You don’t turn off the lights on your customers while they’re about to make a purchase. I come here alot and have always been treated with respect. But turning the lights out on us was a pretty low and rude move. Basically felt like you were all saying FU to us!
If you can play or sing in front of an audience you should atleast have the confidence to make an announcement that you’re about to close ahholes!
I contacted the store online before buying the product online to make sure the store could deliver it within my timeframe. They assured me they would.
Now it’s the eve of their 2nd missed shipping opportunity and I won’t receive the gear in time. I had to purchase the item new and pay for overnight shipping to make sure I got it in time.
Between the purchase and now, the store had gone radio silent, despite my sending an additional email requesting information.
The upshot is that I purchased the gear through a reputable online dealer and will have my gear by Wednesday (today is Monday), rather than whenever the staff of this store decided to get around to it.
Btw… “Sorry dude” doesn’t cut it. Hope the store manager processes my refund with a greater sense of urgency and professionalism.
10. Music Go Round
Address: 2925 S College Ave, Fort Collins, CO 80525 , Walden , Colorado , United States
Brought my bass in for a quick electronics repair. Reasonable price, helpful & friendly staff, and some beautiful instruments on sale!
I absolutely love Music go Round. The staff is always super helpful and so friendly! I have found so many amazing cymbals there for crazy cheap! I just bought an amazing Zildjian cymbal from them and they gave me a killer deal on it. Thank you Music go Round!
5-star first time experience . They were extremely helpful and responsive at all times, with a primary goal being customer satisfaction and satisfaction with the product . Pricing for the NS electric cello was OUTSTANDING. Will definitely keep Music Go Round in mind for future purchases .
Nice service, but if it wasn’t clear enough yet it’s mostly just used gear and selling used gear, nothing else really.
I went in tonight around 6pm to pick up some bass strings. When I walked in, I asked for recommendations on bass strings, as I’ve only bought guitar strings before. The man working there didn’t even come fully out from behind the counter to assist me and made a rude comment when I jokingly asked “What strings does Geddy Lee use?” (The bass player from Rush.)
Honestly, it’s not about the bass strings, the inability to walk fully from behind the counter, or the rude comment and attitude. It’s the fact that I’m trying to support local businesses, and EVERY TIME I go to this store, I’m treated as if I’m an inconvenience.
At Guitar Center, I’m always treated with respect and courtesy. It’s making it really hard for me to want to keep supporting this business when I know that I’ll be treated better somewhere else. A small dose of customer service goes a long way.
If they pretended they were happy to see me just once, it would make a difference. I wear the store’s t-shirt, for crying out loud.
Asked about where to repair my amp, told him I had it looked at by a local sound guy that has been repairing amps for decades(including four of mine, which I was very happy with) but wasn’t sure if I wanted to return it to the factory to be refurbished. The guy behind the counter(the manager) took that opportunity to bash the guy I went to(pretty excessively), and try to convince me his amp guy would be better than having it factory refurbished. It was rude, unprofessional and I’m doubt I’ll ever be back in the store.
Came in with my wife yesterday. Picked your sign off the ground on my way in the store… someone thanked me. that was the only employee interaction I had in 10 minutes of browsing. Not a single person offered me help or asked me if I wanted to play anything. I was here to spend money. you have 500$ shecktor that would have been sold. and the 170 bass would have been also. and a wireless pickup system. but i felt like i wasn’t valued, i grabbed a couple strings and left. oh well i guess?
Mr. Brandon Barrios:
I went to Music Go Around today on purpose to give a local business my money rather than Amazon. I left right away, however, as your shopkeeper responded in an unfriendly manner that I was not wearing a mask. I explained that we are an asthmatic family and his ungenerous response was, “I’m an asthmatic, too, and I’m wearing a mask.” It is your prerogative to wear a mask and force your customers to do so, but it is also my prerogative to take my business where I’m not forced to wear a mask that hinders my breathing and does little to nothing to stop the bad flu called covid-19. You just lost the $500-$1000 I was prepared to spend.
Do not sale or buy equipment from these crooks. I came down from Wyoming to sell my speakers which they said on the phone they would make an offer. They offered $5 for my speakers which sell for $400 new a piece. When I said that $5 wasn’t a real offer I was cussed out so I left and ended up buying a guitar at Guitar Center instead of one of theirs. I have since sold my used gear online for way more than $5. These people insult your intelligence so they can rip you off for their benefit and cuss you out if you disagree with them.
11. Flesher Hinton Music
Address: 5890 W 44th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80212 , Walden , Colorado , United States
I went there to have my daughter’s violin repaired even though I bought it off of Amazon. The staff here was very friendly and helpful and didn’t want to charge, though I paid for their time since I’m in the service industry as well. I wanted a more cost effective piece considering my daughter is young still and will outgrow it. They never once said anything bad about the piece or where I bought it from. Truly a very humble staff with great knowledge and awesome customer service! I would recommend anybody with any beginners piece from anywhere and come here to have them show you how to fix it or use it.
Wow!
Awesome and really fair on prices undented my slide in 35 min. Can’t recommend enough
There’s parking at the new location. Really reasonably priced supplies. Not the best selection for buying instruments though. Since their relocation, seems they’re putting more emphasis on instrument repair. Still probably the best music supply shop in the area
The people employees are professional, knowledgeable, and ready to help!
As with any store like this, you can expect them to be salesmen, though they don’t push too hard and don’t avoid helping you find the lowest priced items.
The technicians are great, but I wish they had a bit more enthusiasm.
If you are testing out brass instruments or such, the practice room they put me in had too much reverb to get accurate samples, even with a recording device. I have yet to ask if they had a more acoustically dry room.
They can order sheet music and products, and have all the basics and many accessories for band musicians.
Like always the services people were just great.
Went in to check out acoustic guitars earlier today. Got an important call as I was about to tune a guitar I was checking out and the guy behind the counter just starts blowing into some sort of wind instrument seemingly deliberately because taking a quick phone call. So I hung up the guitar and just walked out.
But the guy who welcomed me when I walked in seemed nice.
Just terrible experience! Purchased a new wood clarinet 5 months ago. Found out it was cracking, unfortunately happens if not taken care of, but not in the first 5 months.
Took 2+ months to fix, when we finally picked it up, some old guy in the store started telling my 16 year old daughter about keeping it greased every six months- lecturing her because it was so dried out! Finally stepped in and told him…we bought it here less than 5 months ago…in other words, you sold an old dried out clarinet for $2000.00. Will never ever step foot in this store again d/t the service dept.
