Great selection of string instruments and great employees
Love MW. The people are interested in helping me get exactly what I need, at a decent price.
Besides, I’d rather support local, than big corporate.
The best part of Musicians Warehouse is the staff! They go above and beyond to accommodate the customer and, if they dont have something you need, they will order it for you. Their prices are very reasonable and sometimes even negotiable! The selection of musical instruments and gear is even more impressive considering theor location in the heart of downtown athens. I have spent many hours in this store and will likely spend many more. A solid 5/5
Pretty good shop if you are in Athens. Much better selection of gear than their competitors in the area.
Could be a little more organized. Drum area needs more open space. And more displayed of items. Seems pretty congested.
Professional assistance provided.
Really wanted to like this company. I was cheated and conned, and after a week with zero communication I contacted them. They fumbled around for another day or two then stated they couldn’t find the item. I was left empty handed and confused. No attempt at finding the item or ordering another. Nothing. Zip. C’mon guys!
Dude I’m not sure what happened. The first floor is desolate (empty for everybody that’s currently reading this while dunk). I understand social distancing, but I’m I am attending Warehouse, I do not care about the current situation, I’m here to rave. Open the first floor for a mosh pit.
Poor selection. If you like grandpa guitars this is the place. Wouldnt recomend to any modern guitar players.
6. Jackson’s Music Store Inc
Address: 1651 Horizon Pkwy #500, Buford, GA 30518 , Warren County , Georgia , United States
Very friendly, extremely courteous and most polite customer service I’ve experience in a while. Kudos Jackson’s Music. (Special shout out to Gabby Blakeslee and Ms Joey for making our experience a wonderful one)
Best experience I like how they are
Good service
These guys are awesome! They always go above and beyond to find what we need.
I come here for instrument repairs. I’m a professional musician that need his instrument asap. Mark at this location always fixes my sax perfectly. I’m going for a repad in the next two weeks
They have fair prices and a mini guitar-center-like selection of guitars. My only complaint is I felt pushed to make a sale when I looked at guitars.
Chad was very helpful.
We just went to this place to rent a student flute for my daughter’s first year in band. My first red flag should have been that they told me they, “weren’t sure” if they would rent an instrument for fifth grade. It kinda rubbed me the wrong way. Mind you- the only reason we went to the store in the first place is because the school gave us a flyer advertising their rental options. We sat and waited for them to “process and pull” the rental and print my rental agreement. A different person than I initially spoke with came out and told me that they could not approve me for the rental. I’d say that their standards are pretty stringent. I have a great salary job on my application. I can get approval for a credit card, a car note, but not a student flute? They collect your card and account info. How high risk can it be considering that they can withdraw my 30 bucks every month? I told the man “You know what? That’s ok, I can have my mom come up here and do it, she has great credit.” He then proceeded to tell me that he will not allow grandparents the rent instruments, only parents. Uh…What?? What difference does it make? What about the kids whose guardian is not their parent? It’s just a bit much for a 30 dollar a month commitment and a 400 dollar instrument. He told me of their rent to purchase option. You end up paying 850 bucks for an instrument that retails half of that and pay more than the instrument is actually worth in a down payment. No thanks. He also offered to sell us one for 250. For a first year music student who may end up not liking band? I think not. We took our business to New School of Music 5 minutes down the road and it was quick, easy, and actually more affordable. My husband is always in the market for another guitar (purchase not rent) and we will be getting guitar lessons for my middle child. We definitely not be purchasing any of our instruments or lessons from Jackson’s.
If I could give zero or lower stars I would. My son’s saxophone gave him problems from the start. I was told on 4 occasions to bring it in. Today Brandon told me he would finally be in, he wasn’t. When I didn’t understand the question to do you have others I could look at, he responded “I have two eyes”. Rude beyond belief! Never again Jackson Music and I’ll make sure to share this with the band families at all the schools I work with as an administrator. Horrible customer service! UPDATE: The nice woman owner called and apologized. I forgive her and believe she doesn’t condone that type behavior.
this store is downright awful. the service is terrible and they try to pull every penny out of your pockets. small fixes can be charge to up to $200 and is downright despicable.
7. Music Masters
Address: 1806 Russell Pkwy Ste 700, Warner Robins, GA 31088 , Warren County , Georgia , United States
Local-owned, family-run business. Support it. The owner is a great teacher and a blazing guitarist in his own right. I took guitar lessons from him. My daughter took piano lessons there. Everyone there is quality. They have some great deals on equipment and are willing to work with their customers. They’ve also done repairs/upgrades/set ups for me before. They know their stuff and prices are good, everything you need, from a kazoo to a Marshall.
You can’t find a better place to buy instruments or take lessons. Six-String-Mike is a great instructor, the owner is knowledgeable, an outstanding musician and his deals/sales are the best… not enough stars listed to rate these guys!!!!!
This is the best place to get a new instrument to play. Very comfortable friendly people.
Great deals, great service. It’s always nice to have a local, hometown music store for that personal touch. Lessons are also available. Wish there was a bigger selection there, though–go buy some stuff there so they can afford more space! 🙂
Nice music shop. We are pleased with a kid friendly guitar lessons taught by Mr. Mike.
Update:Feb 2022. Still attending lessons and my child has taken a liking to guitar. His finger placement has gotten better and knowing the proper strings for several chords.
Went in to get some supplies for taking care of a trumpet. They didnt have a huge variety but they did gave neat grab and go packs. They did, however, have a huge selection of guitars, ukuleles and other strings as well as a few brass and woodwinds.
I had a violin restrung there a few months back. Violins are better maintained by a shop that specializes in violins but I went ahead and took the chance when the folks at Music Masters assured me they could get the job done.
Although the job was done faster than I expected, the quality was very sloppy. First, the strings were not even in tune and the bridge was filed down unevenly. There were also some kind of oil or lotion spots/fingerprints all over the body which indicated poor attention to detail.
After I took it back, they insisted on redoing the work with a new bridge that i had to provide. Second time around, it didn’t look very different from the first job. In the end, I was down $40-something bucks and didn’t even consider taking it back a third time.
Music Masters might be good with other things, but I wouldn’t reccomend sending your violin there for work.
Rude employees, wouldn’t be surprised if i asked them about squier guitars and they’d start laughing
Nathan is great. Honest, enthusiastic and treated our 1927 Steinway with great care.
Excellent service. Timely. Very knowledgeable. Highly recommend!
I love Nathan. He does a wonderful job. I have been a client for almost 10 years and would recommend his services to anyone looking for piano service and tuning. As an extra treat, you get to listen to his beautiful piano playing!!
10. All Star Music Center
Address: 3981 Athens Hwy, Loganville, GA 30052 , Warren County , Georgia , United States
Great locally-owned and -operated music store, which we should cherish simply for that reason. John is a great, jovial guy, very friendly and helpful. Never seen any inkling of bad customer service as mentioned in another review here.
John is very knowledgeable and goes that extra step to satisfy the customer. Very reasonable prices and services. Highly recommend…
Really cool place. Very knowledgeable!
Great plce.Friendly staff.
Tienda pequena pero buen servicio
John is always really helpful but the other guy gives the cold shoulder alot of the time. Overall though, great store.
I’ve been here 3 times during store hours. nobody at the store go to another shop.
Literally 4:08pm on a Saturday I show up. They were not open. Sign on the door says 10am-6pm. Very disappointed.
Place needs to just close! doubt me, go see what I’m talking about.
11. Us 1 Ent
Address: 706 E Walker St, Wrens, GA 30833 , Warren County , Georgia , United States
I had a return issue and whitney helped me solve the matter!! Will be back if ever needed
We have beem customers here for instruments and lessons for almost 5 years: One son on violin and another with the trumpet. Whitney and staff have always been fantastic, and given us excellent customer service.
Awesome staff and very helpful. I needed to get my daughter’s violin fixed and they helped through the whole process and only cost me 6 bucks.
Staff has always been friendly and knowledgeable over the years my kids have been in band and orchestra. This is my go to place out of area music stores.
Friendly and helpful. Was an easy experience renting a flute for my daughter.
It was nice and had a relaxing vibe .
They rarely have good reeds here except for sizes no one uses. Or any other useful supply
Son unos mentirosos, no les recomiendo a nadie , vayan y compren en otra parte , se los aconsejo
I go to music and arts every sunday
13. Hickory Wind Music
Address: 671-799 S City Blvd, Waycross, GA 31501 , Warren County , Georgia , United States
Great place! Good people own it, they care about the town and the people. Always willing to help and work with customers. Good prices and good products. Variety and quality.
The owner offered to tune and check my just purchased used 5 string banjo. I couldn’t get it to stay in tune. Lo, it was the tuners at fault. All the screws were loose. He fixed them.
Sounds beautiful
Thank you
Such an amazing owner. I learned a lot about Gram Parsons… His store offers quality service.
Very small shop has a large selection of guitars and amps not much in other musical instruments not a whole lot in books to learn how to play nothing in the line of piano lesson books or keyboard looked like nice selection of guitar strings and picks staff was friendly Just not a big store.
Had to return vapes 3xs
14. Town Center Music
Address: 4072 Suwanee Dam Rd NW, Suwanee, GA 30024 , Warren County , Georgia , United States
TCM is the jam! Anytime I go in there… Problem solved. It’s like the Ace Hardware of music stores!
Bought a used Takamine guitar here. The owner’s top priority was me being satisfied with the purchase from the beginning and he followed through with it: even after I’d bought the guitar, I had a concern with it and he had me bring it back in & they sorted it out. The guitar was pretty much street price – plays great. Much also appreciated was the 10% store credit on purchases – I walked out with a Kyser capo on top. Happy camper.
This is an excellent music store with even more excellent people working there who make musicians feel at home.
Good
Taught my kids to play guitar
Much better store I not been here in a while the past manager was not a music guy or a manger known as a air head I will be back
Not where u want to shop you find poorly trained staff and not music people I shopped here off and on for years . just not good pepole
Took down my review. Owner ultimately seemed to care about his customers. Too bad everything is so politically incorrect. Anyone still remember Archie Bunker?
But to clarify what idiot would try to exchange something opened, like a reed.
Amazon prime still winnnning.
Store is dirty poor selection not real big
15. The Musical Express
Address: 231 Furys Ferry Rd #216, Augusta, GA 30907 , Warren County , Georgia , United States
My children have taken piano, chorus, and summer camp at the musical express. I am amazed at how well my children play piano. They are apart of Georgia Piano Guild, take piano testing and perform in recitals. Ms. Tameka is an excellent piano and chorus instructor. They can not only play but also read music. The skills from music lessons have helped them with reading, math, eye hand coordination, sports, and patience. Highly recommend. This is a must.
Ms. Temeka Davis is the BEST!! Wouldn’t have my child learn anywhere else! Especially great with young learners!
The Musical Express is a wonderful place for students to learn to play piano. The instructors are incredibly energetic, kind, and truly enjoy teaching their students the love of music. If you are looking for a piano studio for your child, then look no further. The Musical Express is the best!!!
16. Ponce De Leon Music Center
Address: 1060 Dahlonega Hwy, Cumming, GA 30040 , Warren County , Georgia , United States
They have everything and are always ready to help you.
Great selection of musical equipment and a very friendly and helpful staff. Recommend music supply store.
Very friendly staff!
Very surprised! Went looking for some some used records left with a bundle. I’m definitely going back. The guy who was working the shop at the time was helpful and knowledgeable.
Maestros profesionales
Had to make a quick stop to grab a few things. I know it was closing time. I was trying to make it quick. When they started harassing my husband reminding him when they close he left and we took our business somewhere else. Customers want to feel welcomed, not reminded how unfortunate you are to have to lock the door right at 5:00.
The customer service is awful I definitely won’t be back there every again
17. Music Go Round – Atlanta/Duluth, GA
Address: 3675 Satellite Blvd # 100, Duluth, GA 30096 , Warren County , Georgia , United States
Paulie went over and beyond helping me today. He was super knowledgeable and patient in store, and also when I called later from home with a question!
Very nice and helpful staff. Really know what they’re talking about. Very friendly environment to test out new gear. Very big selection too
The staff is always very friendly. I enjoy looking at the stock of used and vantage guitars. I’m always hoping to find the hidden gem.
If you have any old musical equipment that you’re trying to get rid of or even any new equipment you have in mind that you may need this is the spot to go too! Maaaaan when I walked in all you can say is “wow” check it out!
Good selection of new and used equipment.
Won’t ship items unless it has been in the store for 150 days!!! What a joke.
I’d give less than one star if it were an option. Upon looking online I found a wireless guitar system I wanted to purchase but also check out prior to such. I called the store & was told YES they had the item in stock. It’s a bit of a long drive for me to their location. I drove all the way out there & when I walked through the door I’m greeted by an employee who appeared a bit disoriented acting. Nevertheless, I informed him I was there to check out the wireless guitar system I called about. The employee looked the item up & confirmed it being there … then he began walking around the store looking for it. (Kinda odd u wouldn’t assign items such as this a general location) perhaps near the guitar pedals. So after about 5 mins of him wandering around the store I’m told he can’t find the item. I explain I called & drove a bit of distance specifically for this item (I was also looking at a high priced guitar) The employee begins wandering around the store joking around with other employees but ultimately no real effort to locate the item I came for was made as well as no apologies given for not having the item after I was told they must’ve lost it.
This also tells me if I were to purchase this item online they’d not be able to accommodate my purchase. As I searched the store myself a couple of friendly customers engaged with me in chat.
I also noticed anytime a customer wanted to try out a guitar the employees would play the instrument more so than the customer asking to try it out. Meaning the employees would take an instrument off the rack someone wants to play & rather than hand it to them right away they play their entire musical catalogs it appears. So as a dissatisfied customer there was absolutely no apologies for the mistake they made of not having the item in stock nor was there even a remote attempt to satisfy a displeased customer. For example – we are sorry u drove all this way for an item we assured u was in stock but unfortunately there was miscommunication on our part so to accommodate we will take a percentage off any purchase u like to make up for our error. That would be providing customer service. Something the employees need to learn apparently as opposed to trying to show off on the instruments they’re attempting to sell.
U lost a couple thousand dollars sell today because of this. I had planned to purchase a Gibson with the wireless guitar system. I won’t ever return because of this experience & inform others to do business elsewhere because ultimately u are clueless to ur inventory.
I brought a Martin GPC15ME a few years ago and it was mainly kept in storage. This is an $1800 guitar brand new. I went to this newish Duluth location hoping to get $1000 minimum which is less than 60% of new cost. They offered me $750. Don’t go here if you have a gem. Find another place.
18. Turner’s Keyboards
Address: 2358 Washington Rd, Augusta, GA 30904 , Warren County , Georgia , United States
Turner team pickup up our grand piano for temporary storage. Professional in every way!
Outstanding folks.
As usual, Turner Keyboards employee, Joel, is so professional and the quality of his service as a piano tuner is superior. He had two pianos to tune. He was both methodical and excellent in his service. We could not have been better pleased. Even our little dog, Howie, loved him and that in itself says something as he usually barks consistently. However yesterday when Joel was here, he never barked; he just wanted to love him. Thank you Turner’s for once more giving us great service by the most professional persons, Joel- the Piano Tuner and Wendy- your Service Professional- for setting us up with the appointment.
Friendly.
Good family business. Been in Augusta along time.
My visit was very insightful and productive
You want pushy sales go here
