These are tough times. Grocery stores closing in certain areas to be replaced with parking lots, expensive housing and over priced tourist shoppes and eateries. If Dollar General wasn’t nestled in these areas, folks like myself, would be lost.
Good piece
Clean&low prices
Good selection of cat food
It’s a typical Dollar General. New location.
Salesperson was hard to find
Nice new store as compared to the one in Tignal however, there is stock in the isles that need to be shelved, and it’s very difficult to locate certain items within the store. Various areas are lacking stock, it’s in serious need of Good store manager. Perhaps things will improve in time.
To junkie and you can’t find anything in there because they never have anything on the shelves like all the other DG stores this is about the worst one I been in
The prices advertised aren’t how they are registered at the cashier. Then cashiers will argue with you when you point out that the advertised aren’t the same. 0 of 10. Would not recommend shopping here.
2. God’s Marketplace
Address: 729 E Robert Toombs Ave, Washington, GA 30673 , Washington , Georgia , United States
Don’t eat the food but sweet tea and wifi was what I needed..free WiFi always a plus!!
Pretty good customer service usually
Went there to meet my brother about 7:00 PM for coffee, the young lady that took our order was very personable and believed in customer service.
They to slow and don’t get orders right. To many young people work there
Was not happy with how they where parking almost every car, and they didn’t get my order write. Was running late so I couldn’t take it back just wasn’t time to call. And besides u will not get anyone to answer phone
First off I don’t think I’ve ever left a bad review for any restaurant. Granted this is McDonald’s and it’s fast food but this location has become so poorly run it’s become more than a last resort for quick meals. First it’s almost never actually fast. Be prepared to wait 15 minutes for your food especially if you chose the drive thru. 2nd always check your order before leaving because with no exaggerating 80 percent of the time it will be wrong. Something is always broken, wether it be the drive thru ordering intercom, ice cream machine, ice machine, ketchup dispenser or they will be out of something that you ordered. The owners that live here do not seem like the type of people who would allow their business to come to such a state….. I don’t understand why it’s gotten this bad nor how they haven’t put their foot down.
To wrap it up this place has disappointed me in some way every visit over the past year. It’s truly terrible now.
8. Music & Arts
Address: 3830 Washington Rd Ste 33, Augusta, GA 30907 , Washington , Georgia , United States
Staff is super friendly and willing to work with you to find exactly what you need at a fair, sometimes even negotiable, price.
Fantastic music store! Great selection and very helpful staff. Bought a Bass, Bass Amp, Strings, Strap, case, cable for about $500!
I was extremely happy with my experience and value on purchase!
Plus they do military discount!
I highly recommend this store for any music gear you may need!
Excellent customer service. They price match. Love shopping locally.
Very helpfu, knowledgeable, professional staff
Local staff is absolutely fabulous!
Kind and helpful each time I’ve visited. They have gone above and beyond to help us with purchases questions and repairs.
BUT, this is a big nationwide company so when it comes to billing questions or issues you have to call thier customer service line and that is always a big hassle in my experience. You can’t update cards and such online, the wait time to speak to anyone has always been 30+ minutes for me and they often give inaccurate information on pricing and/or billing dates.
Honestly, if it wasn’t for the employees in the actual store being so awesome I’d just go through a different company for my child’s band rental, but they really are that good that I’m willing to overlook the corporate problems
9. Portman’s Music Superstore
Address: 3946 Washington Rd, Augusta, GA 30907 , Washington , Georgia , United States
Good prices bought some strings and a single bridge pin for 6 or 7 dollars and also got 12 picks or so for another five. The staff are very enthusiastic and their teachers are excellent.
Very clean, wide variety of instruments and equipment and very knowledgeable staff. Will most definitely be a repeat customer.
I’m an Alto Saxophone player and I have purchased four saxes from Portman’s with no trouble, I have also gotten repairs done quickly and cheaply. By far the best music store out there.
Friendly service, knowledgeable reps – what more do you want?
Great place for music lovers. I love the new location, and great place to practice and learn. Must check it out.
Tl;dr Great friendly and professional staff. But be cautious of pricing. Could have paid over $200 normal price!
Pro: Friendly Staff, professional, local, price matching, 10% military discount (when not price matching)
Cons: Very high price $200+ mark up (at least for my product)
My daughter just started band this year in middle school and Portman’s Music was highly recommended by the school. We decided to rent an instrument vs. buying one since percussion was not available early on the year and that’s what she wanted to play. During the band rental meeting at the school we were informed that a portion of the rental fee can be like a savings account towards a purchase later on down the road (up to 13 months). One thing that was not disclosed was that the instrument had to be at least $700 or more. The lady that was assisting us was new and we were the first customers that she helped with the rental contract and did not mention this part. She was very friendly and we were very patient throughout the process.
Fast forward 3 months: We stopped by to switch out instruments, we explored the option of buy an instrument (bell kit). I had asked if the credits would transfer to this purchase but it did not since the bell kit was listed as $439 and was under the aforementioned minimal amount. I was a little upset but could not totally fault the store since I should have done the due diligence and read the agreement thoroughly. I happen to pull out my phone and did a quick Amazon search of the bell kit (Pearl PK910C) and it was listed as $229 ($194.50 with Amazon coupon)! I showed the rep that was assisting us and it was the same model as the one they tried to sell for $439. He also looked on Guitar Centers website and it was listed as $239 as well. Thankfully, he said they were able to price match which is a huge plus! If I hadn’t looked at price prior to purchasing, I would have over paid around $210. Not sure why the difference was so high.
Despite all that, I still decided to go with this local store vs. big box store and online retailers.
customer service is horrendous. No wonder why music stores are on the way out.
Extreme/ignorant behavior the manager owner avoided showing instruments by running as if he had diarrhea. The associate behind the counter came out and offered to help but couldn’t give a real answer to what or why the other sales person couldn’t stand still, by this time he was outside looking in the mailbox, and i’m wondering why he ever asked me to follow him only to be ran from as if I were the ghost of Frederick Douglass.
Wednesday night I went into the store wanted to purchase a new acoustic for myself. it was about 7 I went into the store and was playing a few guitars and found a Taylor I really fell in love with. Now this is a $3,000 guitar so I really wanted to think this out and play it. So about 745 they started locking the door for people going out so I knew I better hurry up so about 7:50 I asked the guy at the counter now to remind you this is the same guy that sold me $1,000 keyboard just a few months ago. I asked him I have one quick question and he says we’re about to close sorry can’t help you so I left the store went home and order the $3,000 Taylor from Sweetwater Music. if you can’t take 10 seconds to answer one simple question especially from somebody that has spent money in this store really don’t deserve my money. So someone else got the $3,000 sale
10. Musician’s Warehouse
Address: 245 N Lumpkin St, Athens, GA 30601 , Washington , Georgia , United States
Awesome store employees are very knowledgable and helpful
Great place. Friendly atmosphere. Just purchased a 12-string and the buying experience couldn’t have been better.
Great service and incredibly nice staff. Went in for a minor fix and they didn’t charge me a thing!
Pretty good shop if you are in Athens. Much better selection of gear than their competitors in the area.
Could be a little more organized. Drum area needs more open space. And more displayed of items. Seems pretty congested.
Very nice store but not a great variety of guitars
Dude I’m not sure what happened. The first floor is desolate (empty for everybody that’s currently reading this while dunk). I understand social distancing, but I’m I am attending Warehouse, I do not care about the current situation, I’m here to rave. Open the first floor for a mosh pit.
Poor selection. If you like grandpa guitars this is the place. Wouldnt recomend to any modern guitar players.
Really wanted to like this company. I was cheated and conned, and after a week with zero communication I contacted them. They fumbled around for another day or two then stated they couldn’t find the item. I was left empty handed and confused. No attempt at finding the item or ordering another. Nothing. Zip. C’mon guys!
11. Maddy’s Public House
Address: 14 W Square, Washington, GA 30673 , Washington , Georgia , United States
Maddy’s is definitely the best spot in town to have a drink and eat some delicious food. They’ve always got a good variety of different beers and the service and ambiance is always top notch.
Great place to eat and spend time with family.
The food? So so
The service however was excellent. Elizabeth, our server, was quite patient with our group of 10. She deserves a raise!
It’s a great place, my friends band played last night. They like it as well. My waiter was awesome.
First time visitors. Live music, solid food. Nice stop when you’re in Washington, GA.
The food and absolutely horrible and took an hour to prepare. Would not recommend to anyone.
Service was slow. Ribeye was thin and full of fat and gristle; more like a breakfast steak. Food was very mediocre except for the green beans. Definitely overpriced. Would not return unfortunately.
12. Turner’s Keyboards
Address: 2358 Washington Rd, Augusta, GA 30904 , Washington , Georgia , United States
Had issues with sustaining sound from keys of Wurlizer baby grand piano and the piano was in need of tuning. Technician came by appointment, questioned reason for being called to be sure he addressed the needed issues and was very punctual.
After the technician completed the job, the piano was in like new playing condition. The piano has a piano microphone inside and the technician got a message to me that the placement of the mic was interferring with the action of the sound board and needed to be changed.
I was very impressed with the service.
Excellent crew. We’re there on time and knew what they were doing.
Thank You so much for a wonderful and dare I say one of the best sales experiences I have ever had. Lisa and her friend were truly wonderful and I am deeply satisfied with my purchase. I can’t wait for my Kawai to get here and to get started with my journey.
If you have questions or have ever wanted to purchase a Piano or Keyboard of any kind, this is the place to go.
Best Regards,
Robert
Good family business. Been in Augusta along time.
Friendly.
My visit was very insightful and productive
You want pushy sales go here
13. Jackson’s Music Store Inc
Address: 1651 Horizon Pkwy #500, Buford, GA 30518 , Washington , Georgia , United States
We went to get my 10 year old son a guitar. He is starting lessons and really excited. The guy that helped us was great. He was very knowledgeable and let my son try out a few to see which he was comfortable with. Neither myself nor my husband have any idea about guitars or music equipment so I was happy to have someone that knew what they were talking about. We drove an hour to this store and will definitely be back when it’s time to upgrade my sons guitar.
Had an amazing experience here with Doug the repair guy. Very honest and up front. I drove all the way from Griffin and I definitely will be coming back. Thank you Doug for being an outstanding guy!!!!
Very friendly, extremely courteous and most polite customer service I’ve experience in a while. Kudos Jackson’s Music. (Special shout out to Gabby Blakeslee and Ms Joey for making our experience a wonderful one)
English
I like this stores. You can saw variety of instruments. And if you want take music classes of any instrument, this is the place. You can found different types of instruments. (Wind, Percussion, string, etc.)
Employees know there job but convenience is a -1
They have fair prices and a mini guitar-center-like selection of guitars. My only complaint is I felt pushed to make a sale when I looked at guitars.
Overpriced
Probably the rudest treatment I’ve ever gotten from the owners of a store.
If you need to get repairs or looking for new instruments. Go online or guitar center. Please don’t waste your time here. They have no clue how to treat customers.
Also: They don’t have any good equipment for musicians actually wanting to play. If you want some cheap guitars or any other instruments. You wont finde any there worth buying. And they also don’t have any high value gear. Things are over-priced, damaged, and/or not what they tell you it is. The return policy also has many flaws. Don’t come here to try out things. Come here if you want to waste some money and buy cheap quality gear.
I can say with confidence that the Band and Orchestra repair shop and some really great Teachers are the ONLY REASON to give this company any of your money. You can trust your brass repairs to be flawless. Those are the only positive comments have.
