Reasonably priced guitar strings. Selection felt limited.
Would shop there again.
My daughter always asks for this place by name when buying reeds for her bassoon (she buys medium soft). They are slightly cheaper than All County Music. They are very knowledgeable about anything music, however they take their sweet time in helping you with no sense of urgency. There is one employee in particular (who will remain nameless, but he has the title of manager) who will often stop in the middle of ringing your items up to answer his cell phone. I find that not just annoying, but also discourteous. Again, no sense of urgency.
Honestly this place is pretty great. Prices are competitive and you can get anything musical here. Staff is super friendly. They even have a set of retro fishbowl shaped drums upstsirs.
Good for sales, lousy for service. I brought a mixer to be repaired there. It had a couple of bad switches and dirty pots. After weeks of waiting, they gave it back to me with no improvement. They told me that they cleaned the switches and pots. My interpretation is that they tried to spray some contact cleaner into it. Unfortunately, the pots are sealed and the switches needed to be replaced. They charged me a pretty penny too.
They send out the repairs to an outside person (who lost accessories I sent in with it) and had a hard time getting in touch with the guy when I asked for an update.
It’s a shame because I like the people there and shopping there, but I will never bring anything to repair there again.
Poor repair service
I wish they could install a guitar string without having to do a set up.
I’ve been doing business with Craig for over 20 years, both buying and selling, trading, and just having a bunch of fun! If I could give 10 stars, I would! One of the most ethical, knowledgeable, and friendly guys in the Vintage Guitar business. Super easy transactions, super flexible, no nonsense, 100 % Happy! Thanks Craig and Patti! Enjoy the Carl Thompson Battle Bass ! It’s a killer piece of history 🙂 I’m Rick, from “Rick’s Vintage Guitars and Repairs”, and I approve Guitar Broker! lol 🙂
Great owner and beautiful place! His selection is ridiculously unique and he knows and loves each and every one of them. Fun time checking it out!
Had the most amazing selection of fine guitars my son was so impressed and my boy knows his stuff. Very honest straight forward and professional….plus the wife is a sweetheart
I Ordered a $2000 Bass Guitar From This Place.
It Arrived, I Plugged It Up, and NOTHING. No Signal. I Checked The Batteries, They We’re so Old, They We’re Swollen Out of Shape. I Replaced The Batteries, Got a Signal.
I Tried to Adjust The Sound, and Each Control Was Scratchy and Full of Static. I Sent It Back, at My Own Expense, and They Refused to Refund My Initial Shipping Cost.
Very Unprofessional, Rude and Inconsiderate.
I Will Never Spend Another Dime There.
– Go Shop Somewhere Else.

Very rude, I called to ask a question and for whatever reason they don’t want to be helpful whatsoever. Don’t support this business

We are currently having a great experience. We definitely found here the best and talented teachers in the wide area and a skilled workflow system.
I initially went to Guy when I was in a bad place vocally and was losing my love for singing. He opened my eyes (and my vocal cords) to do so much more than I had ever done, yet in a safe way so as to not ever cause any damage. Since then, I’ve been able to get back on the road and to record several more albums in excellent vocal health. Now, in my 50’s, I’m singing better than I did even in my 20’s — more range, stamina, and passion. Guy inspired me so much that I decided to become an instructor myself, also getting certified in the Speech Level Singing method, and I now work hard to try to inspire my own students as much as he did me. Guy is a consummate professional, always striving to be better. He brings a lot of knowledge to his teaching. I recommend Guy highly!
Very capable musical insturment store. Staff is well versed and extremely helpful. What I like about this place is how they don’t try to sell you on anything. John has always remebered me with even knowing my name. They always have good deals, always. They service amp, guitars, and effects. They offer lessons. This place has it all.

Owner, Armando Zuppa, is one of the best most competent people I have ever met in any business. He knows his instruments, he’s an awesome, infinitely patient teacher and he’s always glad to see you. He’s also a top notch guitar and banjo player (mandolin too). The entire staff at Penny Lane (Hi Stacey!) couldn’t be better. This is the place for guitars, Ukes, music lessons and more! Love it. You won’t be disappointed!
I had the opportunity to visit Penny Lane Music Emporium Labor Day weekend while visiting Fort Lauderdale. Armand and his friendly knowledgeable staff were very gracious and what a beautiful music store whose emphasis is oriented towards acoustic instruments of exceptional quality especially for folks who have an interest in Americana, bluegrass, folk and other styles of string music where the traditional sounds of wood sets the tone and atmosphere of this shimmering little musical jewel tucked away in South Florida near the Atlantic Ocean and famous US Hwy 1. A good selection of Martin Guitars caught my attention as well as Collings Guitars and mandolins,Bourgeois,Taylor and others. Also a good selection of guitars and mandolins for beginners to professional models as well as resonator 5 string banjos and open backs for clawhammer style players, plus a wide selection of Ukes and other accessories to choose from. The staff are also skilled musicians who provide lessons for all levels…a surprising addition to these attributes is the concert schedule of top notch touring musicians and workshops put on by some of the very best instrumentalists in America today…who would know what a fine venue and down to earth roots music destination is situated right here along the Florida Coast,.right?.America’s Heartland way down south. Thankyou Armand and staff. I’m looking forward to a future visit. Thankyou for putting up with me !
A few weeks ago I found what I had been looking for at Penny Lane, online. A Collings oval hole mandolin, MT O. They post nice photos, and I fell in love at first sight with the cherry-burst finish. I don’t like to buy instruments without playing them first, but I live three states away. So I just dove in and called. Armando was very helpful, and I ordered it. It arrived a few days later on the day he said it would. It was expertly packaged to prevent damage. When I opened the case, that new-wood smell was simply wonderful. The mando is more beautiful than its photos. And its chiming sound surpasses its looks. I keep it out of the case on a stand to play it any time of the day. I keep the case closed in the closet — I know the mando will lose that new-wood smell, but I hope to preserve it in the case, and take a whiff now and then when I hit a plateau! ;0) My thanks go to both Armando and to Collings for the best mandolin I’ve ever owned.
I love to visit the Penny Lane Emporium! The ambience of the store when I walk in gives me just that warm fuzzy feeling of a cozy down home “pickin’ parlor”! The wide selection of quality musical instruments and accessories, combined with a dedicated and knowledgeable teaching staff makes it a great “one stop music shop” for pro and beginner alike. I especially enjoy the monthly (first Thursday) bluegrass jam sessions where fellow musicians can gather to play and exchange musical ideas in a fun and relaxed setting. Regardless of your musical skill level, you can have a wonderful time pickin’ and singin’ at The Penny Lane Emporium!
TERRIBLE ! I WOULD NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS PLACE!
I went to Penny Lane about a week or so ago and spoke to Trey about
music lessons for my children . This Tuesday Armando called me to tell
me it was 6:30 and he was wondering where the children were for their
music lessons. I told him there was nothing ever schelduled. He says
he talked to me the last Monday and called me to confirm their appts
for this past Tuesday I told him I most certainly did not speak to him nor
did I scheldule any appts for my children I was however awaiting a call
back from Trey. He asked me what I was going to do about this ? I said well
let’s scheldule for next Tuesday he said yes if I would like to pay for the cancelled
appt I never made I told him no why would I pay for something I never scheduled
nor did I ever sign a contract. So are we going to make it for next Tuesday and
Armando said no I don’t think so and hung up. What is that? How can he expect
pmt for lessons I never schelduled?! I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone!
I went to this store last month to buy a new bow for my violin. Because the one that was in the case was very damaged. So when I get to the store they tell me that their bows are out of stock and to come back within a month while they order so more bows. So I came back in a months time, and bought a carbon fiber bow which was very expensive compared to the traditional violin bows. So when I made the purchase the store clerk takes the bow out of the plastic bag it came in and he put it in the case. I got home and opened the case to get the bow out and it had broken. I was so angry and very dissatisfied with the very Cheap quality of the pretty expensive item. I would just be very cautious when dealing with this company!
This store appeared to have a nice variety & I was greeted w/a smile. I’m a 68 old professional, drove from Lake Okeechobee to visit this HARD-TO-FIND STORE. My FICO is quite high, Platinum AMEX & 3K cash in my pocket for an above average tenor though they can cost 10K+. I went to examine a Uke & the owner freaked out! “NO, NEVER TOUCH, I’ll tune it & give it to you”; nice sales approach! Never again, will I ever walk into Penny Lane. I found his attitude & demeanor insulting, offensive & condescending; however, this is just 1 man’s opinion.

Customer service is their priority, Inwould strongly recommend their service for any instrument repair in the Broward county and Miami area .
Had my ukelele pickup put in , new strap. Knowledgeable & friendly help
Great store.
Unique place worth visiting. Lots of guitar from second hand
I am dumbfounded anyone can be giving this place more than one star. Complete hack. Brought a guitar in for a routine procedure, was most sloppy, amaturish job I could ever imagine. If you value your instrument at all, avoid this place at all costs. This is not a place for serious musicians or collectors. Is a tourist hole at very best. Beware.
Horrible service. This guy will promise you the world and deliver nothing. His work is extremely poor. His turnaround time is even worse. This is one irresponsible business owner/operator. Take your business elsewhere. Don’t trust your hard earned money with this guy.
Do not go here. The owner doesn’t know how to fix guitars.

Solid Experience. Honest brokers at Nick’s Showroom.
I have 40+ year experience as a piano technician in Brevard and Orange County. One of my clients purchased their piano form Nick many years ago. Nick just hired me to make sure his customer was taken care of properly. To me, that says a lot about a company.
There are few people that know more about pianos than Nick. If you are in the market for a piano in live in Fort Lauderdale or the surrounding area, do yourself a favor and check his showroom out. He has a tremendous selection and amazing prices!
I bought a 6’2” Brodmann piano with player. Nick really treated me right!

Mitchell tuned my antique piano. He was communicative, professional, and prompt.
Mitchell is great with my 6 year old son who was set on learning the guitar rather than anything else. He has taught him to love classic songs like the Beatles. Lessons with A+ Music Instruction are convenient and fun!
Mitch is great to work with! He is knowledgeable and patient and provides explanations that are understandable. I am an older learner and really enjoy my lessons with Mitch!
