I’ve always brought my guitars to Raul to be worked on. From setups to major work on them. All resulting in excellent playability. I’ve been a long-time customer and always refer my family and friends to him. Thanks, Raul, for the excellent and meticulous work you do!
Fixed up the frets Les Paul Gold Top Tribute, did an AMAZING job and the thing is better than when it came out of the factory!
Brought my Music Man 65 watt head down to get it checked out cause it was distorting at really low levels. He took a look at it for all of 15 minutes, demonstrated the proper way to overdrive my amp, and saved me a buttload of money. Turns out the master out distorts really badly (tone-wise) if the bass is turned up while overdriving. I can see this tech is trustworthy, and he will definitely get my business in the future.
Great service and very fast. My expectations where exceeded. My guitar had nicked frets and a broken piece. He fixed my nicked frets and replaced the piece free. Kf charge. I been so used to my guitar looking raggedy and retired and not it looks clean and new.
3 hours for an Output Transformer replacement. LOL! Either he’s ripping people off or he doesn’t have enough experience to repair in a timely fashion. There are a ton of world class amp builders in SoCal, go to them! This guy is a joke!
We went to Perfect guitar to have a string replaced on my son’s guitar. I brought his guitar to Perfect Guitar in December of 2021 for a string replacement and the service was decent.
I suppose with the restrictions during CV-19 they needed business. Unfortunately, when we went today the owner was rude and flippant. We stated the string broke on my son’s guitar and asked if he could repair the string. His response was “That’s a Guitar store thing.” I told him he fixed it last time which he responded “If I did it was a favor, I’m to busy.” I paid $10 so, it was not a favor.
His response seemed less like he didn’t replace singular strings and more like he didn’t want to do it for us.
I am so disappointed that my sons’ had to witness the ugly side of Whittier. It is a guarantee we won’t return to this establishment and I will tell any one willing to listen about my experience. Businesses like this need to be rooted out. Our community doesn’t have space for closeminded business owners.
Guy answering the phone was so rude to my few guitar questions…blew me off . Won’t be bring My Guitars down to that shop…for sure!

Stopped by for the first time yesterday. Place is overwhelming but in a good way all I could say is I wish I had more time. Will definitely be back.
Great customer service. I would definitely recommend them to my friends.
Small shop, friendly staff
Great selection of used vinyl, lots of Reggae, Latin, 45 singles and some great finds if you’re willing to invest the time of sorting through bins among bins of stuff. A must stop if you find your self in Uptown Whittier.
Stay away!!!
Prices are expensive and owner has a big time ATTITUDE!!!!
Horrible experience brought 300 worth of records owner did not want to give me a reciept so unfriendly owner go somewhere else. Owner complained so much because i wanted a reciept. I just left

Found a bunch of old albums for 99cents each! Also love their selection of vinyl releases – new & old 🙂 Got my Alice Cooper album ♡♡♡♡♡
Favorite shop in uptown
Love this place
Place was great and had many records and record players …. However I feel it could be better organized! Had a hard time finding where each genre was as it’s printed small on the shelves! Very small selection of older R&B/ Soul from the 60’s 70’s 80’s! Other than that very cool themed store!
Okay, not very much selections on Spanish music.
Great variety of vinyl but pricey.
This place is a rip-off!!
Don’t bring your records here, if you smart,.
Dont Even come here if you do keep your Backpack or Purse Safe someone nearly stole my backpack here glad my backpack fell but able to get it back good greif i feel unsafe here plus bad experience here Im going somewhere safe plus ill leave my backpack at home if i come here and carry a reusable bag to carry records home
Not a great selection of used vinyl. A lot of really old records from the 30s and 40s. Not much from 70s or 80s. Decent selection of new vinyl.

Awesome Studio. It has everything you would ever need and more. Professional equipment for all styles, and a great atmosphere.
One thing I hated about rehearsal was time restrictions and not always being able to reserve a spot for my band. After 2 hours, that dreaded knock on the door to tell us our time was up would ruin any creativity or drive we had going on. Here, times are staggered and you show up on the day and time you’re scheduled for without any time restrictions. Very affordable monthly prices for working class musicians. Highly recommend any and all musicians to give this place a try. And the top of the line recording equipment, sound proofing and amenities such as a fridge and shower really gives any nearby rehearsal/recording studios harsh competition. Not only is this a rehearsal studio but a recording studio as well. Very friendly, responsive owner who keeps his tenants up to date on what’s new in the studio and answers any questions. In the month I’ve been here, the inspiration this place brings is unexplainable. Cannot think of anything negative to write about. Again, highly recommend any and all musicians to consider this studio.
Hands down, one of my favorite places to spend my time. The space is comfortable, clean, welcoming and inspires myself, as well as many others, to create music together. As if the space and equipment available wasn’t enough, perhaps the greatest part of Black and Gold studios is the man in charge.
Not only is Michael an amazing and knowledgeable musician but he has an energy to him that draws out the inspiration and creativity within. Myself and band mates are honored to be a part of the black and Good family for over 2 years and look forward to making much more music there and recording in due time.
I Would highly recommend that anyone take the time to invest their time and energy at Black and Gold and experience the joyous venture that we have had the privilege to embark on with Mike and the team. Do yourself a favor and check out the space!

Sebastian is a fantastic artist, drummer, and producer to work with! Not only is his musicianship stellar, but he makes the whole recording experience fun and relaxing. 100% recommend!
Sebastian was very selfless and giving of his time. He is great to talk to you and his place is immaculate he is very encouraging, not that I need that but it’s just nice to see another human being with some real soul. He has a wonderful place it’s a great place to work in peace and quiet. Certainly recommend his place and his rates are very reasonable if you don’t think so then go make your own studio but this guy knows what he’s doing and he’s worth every penny. I’ll certainly go visit again. I had gone there to work on my guitar pedal board because I really need a quiet place to wreck it really here the sounds so I could tweak everything just right and this solitude that his place offers it’s one big giant room, and it’s sense of intimacy in isolation really makes for positive work environment is very clean he’s got everything there support this guy.
Sam was just awesome. Everything that we asked for was no problem for him as he has a big list of songs that he can perform… he played at our ceremony and at our cocktail hour… everybody enjoyed his voice and vibe …
Don’t think twice … Sam is an awesome choice!! His voice and the guitar are the perfect fit!
thank you Sam for making our day special!!!
Sam did an amazing job playing his guitar and lending his voice at our Birthday event! It was our 50th and his presence was felt and will always be remembered. People are still talking about him weeks later and I’m sure will always be. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
Sam Marsey is EXCEPTIONAL!! We had a wedding in October and I was unable to keep track of the number of guests who asked me about Sam and is amazing talent. Sam performed for our cocktail hour and he did an amazing rendition of a John Mayer cover for our first dance. There is no limit to the different covers, artists, or songs to what he is able to do. He is incredibly talented and worth it!
Additionally, Sam was very easy to contact and was always available to answer any questions I might have had. He is very reasonably priced and is very polite and kind. I HIGHLY recommend Sam for any event! You will definitely not be disappointed!!
