First attempt at cashing out in self-service registers it claimed system busy. All lights were flashing. After finally finding an employee they told me to just use another one. Then I got the no cash accepted. Then I was told none of would accept cash. Only the regular registers would take cash? There were no signs or warnings of the situation. Regular lines were very backed up with a long wait. Already a serious waste of time!! I left the store and headed to another store with much better customer service and attitude!

It would be nice if they maintained their card readers so that the self-checkout was economical for the patron. As it stands, 1/10 card readers work without issue. Best to go to a manned register.

I was pleasantly surprised to find an experienced luthier in my local area. Mike did a great job on my recent telecaster setup. He explained the whole process and was able to cure my string buzzing issues. Very knowledgeable and quick to remedy my problem. I found out he also builds guitars. Will be keeping him in mind for my guitar needs.

Mike is the best. His knowledge, craftsmenship attention to details are extraordinary. You can feel confident bringing your instrument to him. And on top of all that the prices are reasonable

I am really pleased with all the work Mike has done for me, from simple set-ups on my bass to advising and assisting me on building my own guitars. He is a skilled and knowledgeable craftsman, an expert luthier, and a true gentleman that goes out of his way to make sure you are happy. I recommend him highly!

Small place. Gentleman works out of his shed. Very knowledgeable about guitars. I brought my old Ibanez guitar in hoping to get it repaired. I fully expected to have him say it wasn’t worth the effort to fix. Instead, he said that other than the neck needing adjustment, it was in decent condition. He also understood the sentimental attachment I had with the guitar. The price for the projected repair was reasonable, and has been promised for 4 weeks. Now it’s just a matter of getting the guitar back and inspecting the work.

This workshop is full of the love of art in all things guitar and music. The guitar instructor is very loving, patient, and knowledgeable not only as an instructor but also in repairs.

They have so many options and carry things like German wine that I can’t find anywhere else the owner is helpful and will stop and help you find whatever brand you are looking for

I go here often for certain craft beers. Service is always great. Only complaint is slightly higher prices on some beers vs. Seeing them cheaper elsewhere nearby and it would be nice if their mix a six section had more variety or they could just charge individually for any single beers in the store without complicating it.

The girls are always on their phones and seem lazy and a little rude when you ask them for help finding something. Very unprofessional. Good selection but better employees would be better.

I found myself going here less and less in search of wine only because their entire wine selection is placed in front of giant windows with sunlight beaming down on all their bottles. Something that can easily deteriorate a good bottle. You won’t get much in terms of recommendations, but the girls here do their best to help you find what you need. I’ll stop in if I need something on the run while I’m in the area, but I save the specialty items for other shops.

Derek Waldron is an extremely excellent musician and teaching artist. He creates individualized curriculum for every private student, and teaches innovated and engaging group classes that enhance a life long live of music. Not many musicians are able to teach both piano and voice with his level of expertise for such a broad range of styles from classical to rock. The exciting exponential rate that Waldron’s Studio 88 has grown since it opened just a few years ago is a testament to Derek’s dedication to high quality musical and educational experiences.

Also, the space itself is GORGEOUS. Lesson rooms are spacious, yet welcoming and cozy. The performance area is the perfect size for intimate performances where students can share their work in a supportive environment, and all members of the community can enjoy regularly scheduled concerts performed by professional musicians. The waiting room area for parents and siblings is super comfortable and thoughtfully decorated with colorful and interesting music themed artwork.

Oh yeah, and there is a recording studio, and photography studio! Waldron’s Studio has it all!

My daughter has received voice lessons at Waldron’s Studio 88 for a few years. She’s been challenged by the coaching which has remained constructive and positive throughout. Their attention has drawn out my daughter’s innate talent which was somewhat masked by some shyness and insecurity, and I am now pleasantly surprised to be watching her talents blossom. The Studio provides the safe and nurturing environment that budding artists thirst for, and I whole heartedly recommend it to everyone. Share your talent with the world- believe me, it waits for you with open arms!

Awesome place and amazing people. Private lessons available on just about any instrument, and the open mic the last Wednesday of every month is always entertaining!

The staff are so nice here. I take guitar lessons weekly with Anthony. Great place to learn to play an instrument and buy one as well.

Connor and the guitar teacher I spoke to were extremely helpful and friendly. Great customer service with my brand new Mandolin which I am looking forward to playing for many years to come!

They don’t seem to have the music inventory that they once had but the guy who helped me was super affable and helpful.

This store is a good place to get music books for several instruments especially classical instruments that you can’t find many stores for. I have a violin and go here occasionally to buy books for cool songs. 🙂

The in-store representatives are great and nice. But I am very much disappointed with the customer service representative and the supervisors. All of them showed rude behavior. I signed up for 10 months contract and during Covid situation there was delay in returning the instrument to the store at the end of contract period. But Music and Arts still charged me for 2 months on higher cost. Way above my 10 months contract. When I called the customer service, they were very rude and not showing any flexibility and care for customers. I wanted to do business with them for the next school year. But with these behaviors I will NEVER do business with them. I could not find anything lower than 1 star rating…

All they need is customers’ money… No care for customers… even in this COVID situations…

Saturday, December 7th – The store it self was ok but the cashier was racist and extremely rude! She was talking about how she can’t stand white people in Spanish not knowing I understood her. She was having a full on conversation (yelling over us, basically in our faces to a woman standing by the aisles) and we were clearly interupting her rants. The other woman was just hanging out, talking to the cashier like it was girls night… I didn’t know family dollar supported such horrible work ethic but then again it doesn’t take an educated person to run a register… She obviously doesn’t understand that the customers are why she even has a job. And family dollar doesn’t get that they just lost another couple of customers. If I could have left NO stars, I would have. ✌ #shopAmazon

Finally got to visit after doing some business over the phone 18 years ago with Pete. Great inventory, selection and people. One of the very best examples of why we need to support local businesses and how great a family can run them!

I’m not sure how long this review will be, but I will say upfront that buying a guitar from DuBaldo Music was a great experience, from day one until I took delivery of my instrument, and beyond!

I ordered an Alvarez-Yairi Honduran series (FYM66HD) guitar from Pete at DuBaldo music in April 2021.

For those reading this review in the somewhat distant future, allow me to set the scene a bit:

There was a LOT going on in the world during this time. The COVID Pandemic was still raging, and supply chains were snarled at every turn.

Ports were closed, dock workers and truckers were striking or working limited hours under delayed timelines. Parts availability was questionable at best, etc.

VERY long story short: The guitar had to be hand built in Japan, then shipped to the west coast, then shipped to St.Louis, MO, then shipped to DuBaldo Music in CT before I could take delivery. All the while, considering the conditions of the world as described above.

Pete, Lisa and everyone else at DuBaldo music helped me along at every stage, kept me updated, empathized with and tolerated my frequent calls for updates, contacted the distributor in St. Louis on my behalf, and were generally very pleasant to work with over a period of just over one full year.

I will not pretend that I wasn’t itching to receive my guitar, or that the extended delay didn’t bother me. It was a maddening wait!

But I want to make it crystal clear:

DuBaldo music did their absolute best to get it to me as quickly as possible, considering the extremely challenging circumstances. I can’t say enough about their customer service. It was exceptional at every stage!

When I made my order over the phone, Pete answered all my questions and made sure I was comfortable with what I was ordering as far as the specs were concerned. We made a deal on a VERY good price, and the wait began.

I won’t bore with the details, but between Japan and Connecticut there were numerous significant delays. Mostly unavoidable and one or two caused by decisions that St.Louis Music made, and/or failed to communicate ahead of time.

Pete and Lisa worked through all of this for me deftly, and professionally.

I am not local to the store. I live in DC, about 6 hours away. When the guitar finally arrived, there were 3 in the order, and Pete and Lisa let me know that I could have my pick of the three. Instead of having Pete play them for me over the phone and choosing from pictures, I decided to drive up and try them out in person, and drive it home myself.

Lisa and Nick were more than accommodating, and I was made to feel very comfortable while taking my time to decide. All 3 guitars were incredible instruments and it was a tough decision. Nick provided periodic feedback and assistance as I tried them over a period of about 3 hours. I never felt rushed, bothered, or unimportant. They made sure I was attended to but was not hovered over.

They knew exactly how to help a musician pick an instrument, and it is clear that they wanted to make sure I was equipped to make the right choice, and leave satisfied.

On the way out, as they knew I was a visitor, they even provided local restaurant recommendations, since I had mentioned that I was making my best effort to eat at great places while I was on the road.

I was, and am still, very happy with the decision I made, and with the entire experience of buying from DuBaldo music.

I cannot recommend them highly enough!

My only disappointment was that after a year of talking to him several times a month on the phone, I didn’t get to meet Pete in person, since he was out sick the day I visited.

Hopefully he’s feeling better now, and if I’m ever back in CT, I’ll be sure to stop in and thank him personally!

New antiques, vintage wares shop in the area.

They have a little bit of everything. It’s the kind of place that you could spend hours and still not see everything.

The displays were nicely set up and very eye catching!

Prices seemed a bit high on some items, good on others. We spoke with one of the partners and it sounds like they are still trying to find their footing with pricing and what will sell in this area.

If you’ve been around for awhile, you’ll enjoy yourself going down through memory lane seeing items that you grew up with.

Overall, a fun place to see with such a great variety of items. Happy hunting!

They actually have alot of used and gently used items like souvenirs, plates, collectibles and rare items!! Staff are always willing to assist you with questions etc.

Lovely little secret treasures all over the place! It felt a little bit like a museum but the lady allowed me to bring in my ESA dog and we had a very nice time browsing. will be going back with more money in my pocket!

Pretty high unrealistic prices unfortunately. I think they have some amazing stuff though. We got a few things. The $32 License plates were kind of high. ‍♂️

Disappointing not one of the better thrift, consignment, antique shops in Connecticut and I frequent many. May give this location another shot sometime.

This store was not respectful of my time or my commitment, and I cannot recommend this business to others. As busy professional with children making the commitment to return to regular practice was a significant dedication of my time. After discussions with the staff at the store we found a time and an instructor who would work for me, and with my schedule. At my first lesson the instructor was surprised to see me (although my name was on his list) and I said “I didn’t know a new student was starting today.” and “I don’t really play Bass that much…”. After a lackluster lesson which I was willing to write off as a miscommunication, I returned a week later only to find that the instructor had scheduled over my time with a different student. The staff confirmed I was on the schedule for the day. I promptly asked for my money back, including the new student fee. The manager kindly returned it, but that was the ONLY redeeming thing about my experience. All in all, this wasted about 2 hours of my life.

I recently went to the Music & Art store and asked about my child’s school instrument payment plan. We leased the instrument two years ago; but due to COVID-caused remote schooling and summer breaks, there was little use of the instrument despite monthly charges including insurance and fees.

The store manager told me that I can pay up from lease to own, but refused to give me the payment breakdown, saying everything “in their computer”. When I asked for my contract copy, he didn’t have it. I remember the contract sent from the school was very complicated with different group plans and unfamiliar billing terms, and the store ended up filling up the paperwork over the phone for us. The contract has carbon copies and the store told us they would send us our copy but never did. Now they were telling me that they didn’t have the original copy of the contract for me either.

I decided to pay up the rest to own the clarinet. Just be aware that the receipt won’t have details of what portion is for the instrument and what is for insurance and fees, and no information about the original price and the final total payment. I ended up paying more than $200 just in insurance and fees up to now. I also found out that I had overpaid >$500 for a beginner instrument that the store billed for an intermediate model, as I compared the market price for my exact model. Since I don’t have the pricing info. nor the contract, I cannot really do anything at this point.

I have since found other online complaints against Music & Art regarding the rent-to-own school instrument plan. The lack of transparency and their practice of overcharge and under-report seem to be common experience of their customers. I feel that there is an element of complacency on the school and parents ends since the service is “for our children”, but where is the accountability?

I went to the store 7:45 pm because I need to rent an instrument. I’ve been waiting because the employee was helping another customer. Then, when it was my turn he said : I can’t help you because we close at 8 come back tomorrow. While I was waiting I saw another employee he just looking at us and he didn’t of help us.The worst customer service I ever experienced.
