I am a beginner and needed the bridge of my violin adjusted and needed a shoulder rest…teacher suggested Muni strings and glad he did. The store is filled with beautiful violins, and they carry a variety of shoulder rests and other accessories. They string your violin for free, if you purchase strings from their store. The bridge adjustment was performed while I waited. He helped my find the right shoulder rest, and the price was only $15 (I had paid for x2 for a rest that did not work for me). So, it is a beautiful store, great customer service/advice, on premises luthier, great selection of violins…certainly will return when it is time to upgrade my violin.
Wonders
Really amazing store. Owners are extremely knowledgeable. And Daniel fixed my sound bar at no charge! Saying it only took a few seconds. Such service!
Will not just sell me a violin bridge they insist on installing it and
compare it to buying tires. Recently moved to this area and I have changed my bridge every few years that I have played violin!
So unless you want to spend more money then you need to feel free to get your work done here! I just need a $7 part!!!
Nice place to find perfect string instruments but won’t come back again. The guy in the front doesn’t really like to talk much. I guess maybe musicians never know how to do service lol?
Poor customer service. Perhaps robots do better job. Sky high repair estimate with no explanation of how it is going to be fixed.

Today is the SECOND medical appointment that they did NOT show up, despite the transportation company being advised of the appointment well in advance. I have a condition that requires these doctor appointments. This is so wrong. And when I call the company, the phone goes straight to voicemail every time and the mailbox is full. I will specifically require a different company from now on. Do not trust them when being transported to any appointment. Today my appointment was at 12:15 p.m. No one showed up and they have no point of contacy.
Nice seller, Scored a used amp from him off craigslist, was very fast and good communication, picked it up within a day. A+
I purchased a Tele there. What a great experience. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The price was very fair. I would go back again.
Great place! Great people!
The staff is really nice, but the store is the size of a walk in closet. They had some pretty cool used guitars, and a few amps, but this place is nothing in comparison to Jimmy’s Vintage Music. I couldn’t get over how small the place was. The “vintage” part seems a little lofty as well.. I’d say “used” more than “vintage”. Really cool guys who work there though.
Usually I don’t talk bad about business partners but this time I feel like I have to, sorry about that!
I spend over 1,000$ at this store and still don’t even know the name of the person I communicated with!
It honestly was the worst buying experience I’ve ever been through.
First of all, I tried to negotiate on the price (cause this is what you usually do) but there was noooo way to lower the price, not even the tiniest bit…
Well, that’s not the reason for the bad review but it’s definitely part of the whole bad buying experience. I agreed to buy the guitar anyways for the listed price, everything okay so far.
Then the troubles started to take over. The seller told me that if I want to pay by Credit Card they would only ship to my credit card’s address, although this means they would have to ship the guitar to Germany. Never heard something like this before…So I had the trouble of finding a different way to pay. The seller didn’t even seem to be interested in finding a different solution for me, I had to figure things out on my own.
Well, I found a way and the shipping worked well BUT I asked for a receipt, cause I will need that for import documentation to Germany. And guess what, the receipt never got to me.
After asking for a digital receipt via mail, this store seriously asked me what a receipt looks like and offered me a screenshot of the PayPal transaction…..
Guys, I don’t know what kind of sketchy business is going on here, but the customer is definitely not king in this place!
Sorry, but this is not how you treat customers who spend more than 1,000$ at your store….
I’m just glad the guitar arrived….
Walked in this place on 3/27 with the money I got from my tax return. The guy working the sales floor did not greet me. I ask him a question about a Breedlove guitar and he said he did not know if it included the pickup or not. He could not give me an answer as to the price of the guitar. I had $3400 bucks cash just burning a hole in my pocket and I was out to buy a nice guitar. Then I saw a nice Martin D-35 on the wall. He handed it to me and within 5 minutes I fell in love with the instrument. I ask him a simple question about the Martin and he completely ignored me. He was working on his laptop and had no time for customers. I purchase several high end guitars a year and I will NEVER go in this shiyhole again. Nor will I recommend them to anyone. I I were you I’d avoid this place.
Here is the owners unbelievable response:
Hi James. I’m finding it hard to believe a word of your review. There is no possible way you asked if our Breedlove had a pickup in it. None. Nor would my employee fail to answer two questions about a Martin that he just handed you. Feel free to call me, if for no other reason than to verify that you were even at the right store. Eric
Here is my response:
So you think your best response is to call me a liar. All this does is piss me off more. I can promise you every word of that review is true except for the fact that it was a Martin D-28 and not a D-35. You would have been much wiser to try and contact me in a professional way as apposed to being accusatory. Seeing that you find it except able to call me a liar I would like to point out that your sir are a complete and utter moron.
Below is another response by the owner of this business. First of all I need to say that every word I wrote in my review is absolutely TRUE. I made up nothing. I would have no motivation to do so. I am not a competitor of his and prior to walking to Blackbird I knew nothing about them. Just look at this guys response to a legitimate customer complaint. You need to ask yourself after reading this guys response “Is this a person I want to do business with”? “Is this a music store that I would want to deal with if I had a problem with an item I bought from them”. This owner is totally unprofessional and IMHO does not deserve to be in business.
5. Sam Ash Music Stores
Address: 912 Lee Rd, Orlando, FL 32810 , Winter Park , Florida , United States
Another great transaction with Charlie. They are the best and they always help me with any of my needs.
If I could give them a 6 star I would.
Sales person in guitars was very helpful in locating a new pre-slotted nut for my acoustic guitar.
I needed a case for a guitar I had just bought at a pawn shop.. The salesman was attentive brought two possibilities and both were right for the Paul Reed Smith guitar I picked the one I preferred put the guitar in the case , paid the man and walked out a satisfied customer just as professional smooth and quick as I related sale .it even better than the purchase I made at the west48th st. Sam Ash store when I bought an Acoustic370 bass amp in 1973. A pleasant surprise to find the same professional service in Orlando.
Guys are great and very knowledgeable about equipment.
Went in to buy reeds. Took me about 20 minutes to get a box of reeds and then checked out. I was patient they were busy.
I best describe my experience as a Sam Ash, ‘Tale of 2 Cities’.
As a reptired healthcare administrator and disabled US Marine who uses music as physical and mental health therapy, I give Sam Ash an overall score of 4 stars. The Lee Rd store definitely is about customer service. The E. Colonial store behave like a bunch of rude, used car salesmen.
Mike manages the E. Colonial store but is too busy to deal directly with the customer. While negotiating the sale of a discontinued amp M Caylor came back with someone claiming to be Nick, Ops Mgr. Nick was neither jolly, nor saintly. Instead of greeting me, he went to the amp. He didn’t smile, shake hands or show any respect. He was rude and stormed off.
Conversely, Lee Rd is about customer service and building lasting customer relationships. I purchased a new Fender fretless bass at Lee Rd that had been on display. After a couple of issues, I returned the bass and it was replaced with a brand new Fender bass fresh out of the box and conditioned on the spot by Joe.
From henceforth, if Lee Rd doesn’t have it or can’t get it, I’ll shop Amazon or Guitar City.
Not a lot of gear options. Online has more choices. But the staff is very friendly and has much knowledge.
The worst Sam Ash ever. I tried trading Two top notch workstation for another keyboard and they wanted to give me pennies. What a joke. After giving me the run around all morning they weren’t able to help me. DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE YOU’LL BE WAISTING YOUR TIME!!!!
I buy most of my equipment from American musical supply but i needed and adapter and headphones so i made the trip to your store. I was looking at the adapters for what seemed like a long period of time and not one person asked if I needed help. SO I grabbed the headphones and went to check out and the guy at the check out made a comment on how he did not make commission and was deciding on who to give it to is when I said no one because not one person asked me if I needed help. So i went home and ordered it online and it will be at my door tomorrow by the time i get home from work. Wont go back unless it is something I absolutely have to have right then.

The Winter Park Music Academy is all ages but it’s always amazing to see music influence the minds and lives of the youth and I am always impressed at the live events. Keep up the good work!!!
We highly recommend Tavie and all the staff at Winter Park Music Academy. Our son loves going there for drums and piano lessons with Samantha. The playground outside is also a plus! Thank You for all your help!
8. Taylor Robinson Music
Address: 2122 Lake Dr, Winter Park, FL 32789 , Winter Park , Florida , United States
We asked Seth to play for our wedding during December 2016. It was a pleasure. Communication with Seth was a pleasure. He was fast to reply and easy to talk to. He played all the songs we requested. He came on time to set up and his music was great. I would love to do more businesses with Seth in the future for other events. Thanks Seth for making our wedding more special.
No matter your skill level, these teachers make you feel as if you have skills. And here’s the thing – these gals will work with you until you do develop skills! These lessons have given me confidence, creativity and a way to own what I perceived to be part of a boys club. I have made many friends from different walks and ways of thought to learn that you can love, learn and heal through music.
My instructor has shown me that I am not musically inclined, contrary to my previous belief. He has a wonderful knack for breaking down concepts and making them simple to comprehend. I feel like I can play something now!
I had one bad experience or negative thought about any session. He listens to what I want to play and manages to teach the “boring” fundamentals around this keeping me interested at all times.

I have no idea whether this facility actually provides quality service or not because I can’t get in contact with anyone. I do know they don’t answer the phone though, I’ve called several times during opening hours and I just get the voice mail every single time. Maybe they’re no longer in business? Not sure. Seemed like a good company, maybe I’ll make the drive to the location and update this review if the address is still correct.

I love this place . I’ve purchased several things over the years and I’m never disappointed. Chris helped me out yesterday and he was very helpful and friendly. Thank you Chris!
I love this store. The staff is great and very knowledgeable. Jorge the manager from the recording department is the man, can’t wait to go back and get more toys.
I’ve been using the Sam Ash location on Colonial in Orlando for nearly 10 years now and always have a great experience. Rob A your luthier has been there every time with personable, patient and very knowledgeable assistance. He made my decision to purchase yesterday an easy one. I wouldn’t / couldn’t have done it without him. Can’t thank him and Sam Ash enough!
I’ll be back…and will send friends!
I went to the store today 1/4/2021 to pick up an used piano I had on layaway and Anthony Murphy was very nice to us. But just as we were about to leave came this “somebody” I think his name was Tommy and started complaining about why Anthony sold us the piano (did he have another purpose for the piano than to sell it????? hmmmm suspicious) then he continued complaining because I requested to have the owners manual printed because it was not in the box. Very rude to have an employee embarrassed in front of a customer. Kudos to Anthony. He never lost his temper. I was about to loose it. That’s the reason why I gave them 3 stars. Dump this nobody. He don’t need to be there with that bad attitude.
Bought my 1st professorial drum machine (Roland mc 303) here in 2001.
Called in to ask for a part I was having trouble finding. Courtney went above and beyond to order the part directly from the manufacturer because they did not sell the piece in store. I was very impressed. The reason the store did not get 5 stars is because when I went in to pick up the part I had trouble getting someone to help me. I was just standing there with my hands in my pocket looking at one of the employees at the front desk but he was talking to another employee and did not acknowledge me. I was finally greeted by someone in the drums department but as a sales professional, I think there is room for improvement as far as customer service skills go. At the end of the day, thanks to the girl who went way out of her way to help me out.
Terrible costumer service always short in staff and the staff ignore you when you talk to them or run back to the Office and hide from the costumers terrible terrible service !!
If I could rate this place negative stars, I would. Service is not only unhelpful but rude–leave an amp on standby for 5 minutes to try another nearby and come right back, the guy goes out of his way to berate you, but the minute you’re looking for help, not a peep. Can’t wait until manufacturers start cutting out these useless middlemen selling great products. That said, they have a solid selection. Unfortunately.
Sorry to say but service was poor. Nobody knew what plain speaker wire was.they keep sending me to another sales reps each knew less then the last . all i wanted was speaker wire.
13. Studio 18
Address: 1209 Formosa Ave, Winter Park, FL 32789 , Winter Park , Florida , United States
Studio 18 is a place where you are comforted and greeted with an abundant, overwhelming, unwavering amount of love, light and peace. It’s more than just business…you become family. Every consultation is made to ensure your dreams become a reality. From a business stand point, the equipment is nice and everything is legitimate. As far as everything else…you’re going to feel right at home. I fell in love with this place the first time I stepped foot in there. ✨
Circa and the crew at Studio 18 have been instrumental in helping me reach a wider audience with my music. Prior to working with Circa, I was just releasing my music, with no real direction, or process to it, however after linking up, I’ve gone from averaging around 500 plays on Soundcloud, to well over 5,000, and getting featured on some big blogs throughout the web.
Circa and his team are knowledgeable and helpful; offering numerous pieces of advice that have helped me tremendously in the process of being an up-and-coming producer/artist.
I highly recommend their services; good people, going great work. Thanks again Studio 18!
Ran an event here a while ago and the experience was memorable. Circa and the crew really know what they’re doing. Top notch music comes out of this place, never really seen anything like it.
Nice
Should of wrote this years ago (2016), but I never got my mixes and wasted like over 1,500$ here. Ended up building a computer for recording and having a friend re-record our ep in my living room and then releasing months later. Wasted a lot of time and money.
My friend has been doing marketing for years now shes hardworking and all her clients have been very happy with her work recently she told me about a project she was working on for Mr Connor smith which she spent endless hours and days working on . Yesterday i called her to see how it was going and when she told me what happened i was shocked . This man owns this studio and is taking advantage of hard working people to put kids to work for his projects as “interns “ taking her ideas work and not paying her for the project .
Requires pay,To record and publish a song. Plus,Bad feedback.
14. Gary Underwood Music Shop

Great Music Shop to get your instruments repaired. Always get top notch service and never been disappointed with repair. The most friendliest family that own and work the business.
Very good work
Their instrument maintenance and repair has become questionable. Not sure what happened to their repair staff.
Not nice or friendly. Take your instrument to a different place if it needs a repair.
