These guys Rock!
They have done set ups and fretboard work on both my PRS SE Custom 24 and my American Strat. Couldn’t be happier with the work. They also make some awesome custom guitars!
Best luthier around. Fast friendly service with an abundance of knowledge.
Top shelf.
You have been warned. They talked like they knew the product very well to build trust. They overpromised and underdelivered when I got my guitar back and still wanted to make excuses???, the work I asked for was clearly stated in the receipt.
Small but impressive guitar shop. Nice selection of after market parts and strings.
A great place to get a custom made guitar
The guy who answered the phone was a jerk. I took my guitar to someone else.
I bought a charvel jake e lee model that supposedly was built by someone at atomic guitars and it was the worst thing I’ve ever played, held or experienced. Everything about it was off from the neck pocket to the fingerboard and frets. I was told that it was built by the guys at atomic guitar and I hope that wasn’t the case at all.
Just got off the phone with one the associates here. Arrogant and unhelpful.
3. Sam Ash Music Stores
Address: 4402 W Cactus Rd, Glendale, AZ 85304 , Youngtown , Arizona , United States
Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and kind staff members–looking out for the customer’s needs. Michael was super helpful in explaining things to someone new to guitars. He was understanding, not condescending and approached me with kindness and explained things I might want to know. He asked questions about lifestyle to clarify what I would need in order to be successful in learning to play. In addition, Becky was helpful in making sure not only did I get my questions answered, but we talked about why the musical instruments we grew up with wouldn’t be our choices today.
Steven was so helpful!! He is very knowledgeable about guitars!!!
Everyone was so helpful, they all went out of their way to make sure I had just what I needed.
I don’t know about the guitar guys, but all the employees in the drum department are very helpful. They are always willing to help me find anything, and seem very knowledgeable about all the products. They always make sure I have information on clinics or any deals going on in the store. They even send me signed cards with extra discounts. Much rather shop here than guitar center, where it is very obvious the employees only care about commission.
UPDATE: It seems like over the last year the staff has gone downhill, at least in the drum department. Most of the things that caused me to rate them so highly seem to have gone away. Most of the drum guys don’t seem to know much about drums, I’ve even had to go behind the counter to get the correct drum sticks because the employee couldn’t find them. The other thing that has caused me to rate them less is that one of their main promotions is to give $10 gift cards with purchases. However, the gift cards expire quickly and they will not take them after they expire. I wasn’t too happy about this considering it was supposed to be their way of getting me back in the door, and for a regular shopper who spends a lot of money there.
Sam Ash is a great store with helpful employees and reasonable prices. My only complaint is their selection of drums, guitars and amps seems to get smaller all the time. They have a fair number of Gibson Les Pauls and Fender guitars, but they were very limited on things like mid range Ibanez’s, Schecters, Jacksons, and Charvels. It’s hard to purchase guitars and amps in the $1000 price range if you can’t try them first and it seems like the local guitar center and Sam Ash locations are lacking in inventory.
Great prices on guitars!, very helpful and knowledgeable staff! Financing options as well. Way better than guitar center!
Set on the phone for 45mins trying to get a human to talk to me! You would think I’m calling to verify my health benefits the way I was placed on hold and passed around?? I was only looking to get a price. In the end they hung up on me. Customer service sucks big time!!!!
I have my first visit to Sam Ash today, and unfortunately, was not impressed. I was in the store around 15 minutes, walked past at least four store associates, and not one of them spoke or offered to sell me anything. I needed a new interface, three mics, a new set of headphones, and all kinds of wires for my home studio; could’ve easily spent over $1000 in the store… Only there were no associates walking around that I could find. The only one I saw at the counter where the microphones and interfaces for around 10 minutes and watched the only associate in that section talk to one lady (I think had already checked out), and even take the time to look at her pictures on her phone. I understand a great customer service experience comes with a certain level of conversation. However with my experience, I had no conversation with no associate in the store . I saw the microphones I wanted, so I was really disappointed… On my way out a man says “thank you for coming in” and that was was my entire experience. The store was pretty empty, so I felt ignored. Luckily Music & Arts had the same stuff.
3 millianels doing nothing at front desk but Looking at cell phones.
Sam in Guitars super cool guy
4. Boogie Music
Address: 3562 W Cactus Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85029 , Youngtown , Arizona , United States
My son took drum and is doing well in HS band and enjoying his skill. Now my youngest is learning piano. Would recommend.
These folks repaired my Taylor 614CE after it was damaged in a pretty bad fall. There were nicks and cracks in several places, and a hole was punched in the cutaway that looked irreparable. The work they did was first-rate. I couldn’t have asked for better, and their price was very reasonable for that amount of damage. I can’t recommend them more highly.
I brought my vintage 1980’s Peavy T40, in for my yearly service….40 years late. I thought I should get a new ax, with how badly damaged it is..
The dude behind the counter assured me they could fix it like new.
These guys are awesome, rewired, replaced in/out phase switch, pickup switch. Even fixed the pickup guard and the pickup, which I thought was toast.Set the string clearance better than when I bought.
YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!
P.s.
To the dweebs saying negative things, ask yourself would you lend $1000 to a non serious customer, for 5 minutes. And in today’s society with gun toting wussies, you act like you won’t be apprehensive? The dudes been there for alooong
time for a reason. And was very help explaining why my recordings were sound to muddy/mid range. Owners cool, and staff rocks Boogie Music is the best, better the whorporate box stores.
They are very helpful and answer my questions about learning how to play the guitar.
They have a nice selection for a small place. Fair prices too!
Good place limited selection
The person at the store followed me around the store the entire time and was super critical on how I played the guitars (which was not abusive or disrespectful). Made me not feel welcome or wanted. I would buy from anywhere else. Wish this was not true, I love little music stores.
Rude and condescending.
(The Grinch that stole music.)
I feel like Boogie Music is a great little music store, if you can avoid the owner. (Based on about 20 visits over 2 years and ballpark $1300 spent.) My impression is that the owner is overworked, doesn’t delegate enough, and runs on small margins that keep him stressed out and always a few seconds away from snapping on someone. Don’t get me wrong, he is a salesmen to the core, if your intent is to buy something off the wall, ask no questions about it, not negotiate on price, and get out of the store, you will have a fantastic time. If you should disagree with or not value the store owners opinion on an issue, you get to meet the other guy, who just makes you want to never shop there again, but you have to, because you already signed your kid up for lessons. To hear him speak to his staff/instructors when he thinks your not around or not paying attention is one of the most uncomfortable feelings you can feel in a store. Some of the instruments have a warranty, but the owner comes “as is”. Caveat Emptor
5. Boost Mobile
Address: 11115 Grand Ave Ste 1, Youngtown, AZ 85363 , Youngtown , Arizona , United States
Excellent service Darlene really knows what she is doing
Edwin was great recommend this store!
Amazing service by Jose. Went to the other boost at el mirage they didn’t want to help me get my information to port over. Jose did everything for me and even moved all my stuff over from my old phone to the new one! This Boost Mobile is 10/10 thanks to him !
They take care of you at boost
Darlene
Store manager was not as knowledgeable as we would have liked. We went to another store.
Complain after complain this store never does anything right, they never have phones or credit to process a simple payment
It’s in the getto and closed….bars in windows type place
They don’t sell phones or fix them
6. StorAmerica Youngtown
Address: 11634 W Peoria Ave, Youngtown, AZ 85363 , Youngtown , Arizona , United States
Great prices and the manager was helpful and friendly
I have always had a wonderful experience at this storage facility. The people that work in the office are friendly and go the extra mile for their customers.
We looked at several storage facilities before we selected StorAmerica Youngtown. We made the right choice. Greg and Robin were both great to work with and made the process effortless. The facility is very well maintained and clean, and is monitored for safety. Glad we found this site.
…. courteous customer service. ..
So there’s no access when they’re closed. But nobody has to be there for them to be open. Sundays for example, nobody is in the office all day and they have open hours to get to your stuff anyway. Easter Sunday they are posted to be closed. There’s nothing different from any other Sunday except for being Easter but there won’t be any access that day. Hmmmm…
Friendly, secure, safe, clean, office mngr very welcoming and warm and friendly, steam line process, process reasanble. I store here
Robin at this place was nasty and underhanded towards me and especially my husband. We asked her to do us a very minor favor as we moved out of state and needed someone to hold a key fob just to give to our shipper. She then made a huge issue of it and even contacted her manager and told about and innocent question that she turned into sinister. It was like she was trying to stir up drama. We really don’t understand and are super glad that out car is away from this place. I would not EVER recommend to store your stuff there if you value customer service and fair business. She did not have to do what she did and I waited until we got our car out of there to write a review. We had to be nice to her just because we didn’t want anything to happen to our car. Shameful that we had to do that but we did and our car is gone and with us. Just be VERY careful what you tell Robin as she will use it to go back to her managers to create and issue, and it sounds like someone needs to get a life. Do not store your property here. We don’t recommend.
7. Ziggie’s Music
Address: 3309 N 3rd St Ac, Phoenix, AZ 85012 , Youngtown , Arizona , United States
Really cool little mom and pop. Loved the atmosphere here, definitely will revisit this shop.
Friendly folks, great equipment and deals and lessons available. Check out this local staple!
This is one of those almost extinct mom and pop family owned music stores that caters to the true established working musician. Their accordion repair services are excellent, and internationally recognized as being top tier. Accordion player will drive for over 1000 miles from Mexico to have their instruments serviced and or repaired by Dionne, who was trained by Hohner factory employees. Dionne has a great electronics repair man, who takes the guitar amps, PAs, and other stuff home, repairs it and returns it to the shop. That man is her husband, Chuck. Chuck uses tools and diagnostic equipment most shops don’t even know about, let alone use. Her guitar repair guy is also very skilled too. This is NOT Guitar Center or Sam Ash, so don’t expect a wall full of instruments. This is a shop for people who play professionally, already own gear, and need to keep their gear running, so they can work. THIS IS A PROFESSIONAL PERFORMING MUSICIAN’S MUSIC STORE. IT IS ALSO DYING INSTITUTION. Ziggie’s exemplifies what music is all about. I see Mexican musicians who play Tejano musica, and other traditional Mexican style music, rock & roll musicians, C&W, pop, top 40s cover bands, etc. Ziggies also rents studio space for lessons, and there are several great people who give lessons. People show up, sit around and jam, chew the fat, look back on old times of days gone by in the Phoenix music scene. The Saturday Swap Meet is great, and happens the first Saturday of each month. If you have some gear to sell, or trade, bring it on over, at 8:00 or 9:00 AM, and see what happens. Summer is kind of the off season, but there are deals to be had. It’s all free, with no table rental space charges, or any of that nonsense. It is a community thing sponsored by Dionne, and the Ziggie’s family legacy, of being part of the community. This shop is a piece of Phoenix history, and it’s a true gem. You don’t stay in business for over 80 years, unless you are doing something right.
Very helpful the information what’s good
The perfectly imperfect music store with a hometown feel.
Store hours say 10 til 6 M thru S but they don’t follow them…..went by at 230 and no one showed up…..zero stars if I could
literally 30 minutes b4 it was supposed to close me my mom and friend were trying to get in it was closed and we were looking in it was dirty that didn’t bother me it was just the fact there were no employees there 30 before close hours meaning it wasn’t we had just missed it meaning they had closed before hand
Was looking for a decent music store but this is not it. The place is dirty, and only carries used gear. The selection was very disappointing. Look elsewhere
8. Guitar Center
Address: 2750 W Peoria Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85029 , Youngtown , Arizona , United States
My wife bought me a brand new 12-string for my birthday, which is coming up in less than a month
Great place staff is knowledgeable of what’s needed to operate and play all of the instruments.
Awsome cool workers let you try befor you buy
Have the harmonicas I need it for my kids they were good ask me if they could help and it everything helpful thank you
Lots of people waiting to be helped but not too many employees helping. Lacking many products that are available online but still a good store with knowledgeable staff.
Customer service was amazing and all the products are dope.
Guitar Center at Metro Center is the worse store I’ve ever been to. I have never had a good experience here and after my last visit I will never go back! I went to get a guitar out of layaway and after waiting in along line the salesman Anthony told us to wait till he rang everyone behind us up before he would help us. My brother asked if there was anyone else who could help us and Anthony became very rude, and disrespectful, and began to argue with my brother. Needless to say I got my money back and left. The Guitar center on 99th and MCDOWELL in Avondale has a smaller selection but the service there is top notch. I am starting to like the idea of only using Guitar center to test out the guitars and then buy online but if I am going to purchase from them it will be at the Avondale location.
The drum tech here is not the friendliest, I was testing out a kit they have out for display and he put a pad on one of the drums to show the customer he was talking to while I was in the middle of playing. Kind of lame /:
Only go here if you’re trying stuff out that you can get online. We waited for an hour to get a drum customer service guy and were told that he was the register guy and probably couldn’t help us. My son tried out some cymbals, and we went to Amazon to buy them for about $40 cheaper…
9. J&M Guitar
Address: 13439 N Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85022 , Youngtown , Arizona , United States
I poked my head into J&M’s front door for the first x, seen the guy behind the counter was very focused on task at hand (Gibson Studio).I had no impending need at the x, yet he took the time to address my intreast. Point blank he gave of his time. Just like back in the old days when customer service came first. Im going back for some N3 pickup hold down/adjustment screws.
Very friendly and helpful
Great guitar store, can’t go wrong here. Knows his business.
It’s a guitar shop and lessons too. … my son teacher is great. …
Nice selection.
Great very good helped me out and explained things very well good prices.and good help i will go there 4 all my music need s thanks
I looked at a guitar and didnt buy it. The guy harrased me.
10. Central Music
Address: 5038 N Central Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85012 , Youngtown , Arizona , United States
Very knowledgeable, family owned, friendly, helpful, great customer service
What a quaint place! It’s a small store that reminds me of late nights in college spent on music theory and escaping exams through composition. The store is well kept and very comfortable. I was also very impressed with the employee (owner?). He was attentive and so very helpful when I couldn’t find the right gift. I was able to find what I wanted after he helped and then some. I’ll be back for quite a few more purchases after this!
This is a little gem!
Nice local music shop with the supplies musicians need at reasonable prices. One important thing- they have a NO RETURNS policy. If you buy it, make sure it’s what you need! Parking’s a little tight, so maybe go early or late. Oh, and there’s a nice sandwich shop and a Dairy Queen next door!
A very nice shop with friendly and helpful staff. They had just what we needed and gave some good advice as well
Very good variety. Owner is really friendly and nice. I love it. Pricing is great. There’s a lot of different music books for different instruments.
CentralMusic purchase policy of NO REFUNDS NO RETURNS: bought a gig bag/very nice. Also bought, and am now stuck with, Kremona KNG classical guitar pickup: rubber on the plug end is brittle/cracking. I tape-wrapped it BECAUSE NO REFUNDS/NO RETURNS. However, I do apologize to you, Central Music, because I should have examined that pickup, should have said “rubber boot has breaks” or something to that effect. But I bought it the day before my wife’s funeral service where I was scheduled to play for a bit. So, I was a little pressed for time, grieving My Beautiful Wife’s passing, not thinking before I posted my comments about Central Music. So, I am sorry if I sounded rude, because that’s not who I am. On the bright side, your shop was open, item was available, product does work, and I wish I could read music better because you have lots of sheet music available and other gear for sale.
No tiene variedad de cuerdas,no ve de guitarras de calidad.
They didn’t help me they said I had to make 4 other drives to get it
11. B&D Guitar Repair
Address: 2202 W Lone Cactus Dr #4, Phoenix, AZ 85027 , Youngtown , Arizona , United States
Great customer service and a great job done on my Gibson acoustic. I was having major saddle issues with my guitar and tried several different at-home remedies to no avail. I called Billy and he told me to bring it in. 45 minutes later, it was fixed and actually played better than it did the day I bought it. It started off as a stressful day but Billy quickly put my mind at ease. Billy, you are amazing and I will be back for all of my guitar needs in the future – thank you!
Not only did Billy do an amazing job on my Gibson Country Western, but he took time out of his day to chat with me and teach me some repair tips and tricks. Highly recommended! Very nice guy who cares about the folks who walk through his door.
Okay guys, it’s rare I post about other places, but I am going to do a huge shout out for my buddy Billy at B & D Guitar Repair. I went to an other place to get my new Tosin Abasi pickups set up in my beautiful Ibanez 7 String and they basically ruined my instrument and my new pickups. I have gone months without playing my brand new guitar and I expressed my anger and frustration and Billy took on the project to help clean up someone else’s mess and completely wowed me with his results. I’ve worked with Billy for years and normally no one else touches my guitars but I decided to give an other shop a shot because of location and memories from my old drummer working there. Well, I will travel the distance for Billy because he is not only an amazing man but an incredible guitar tech and I can only recommend his place of business. No one else from here on out is touching my guitars. Worth every penny
Person was rude on the phone. I was trying to explain how a guitar’ bridge was causing me problems.
Then he tells me “not to take my frustrations out on him” when i was simply attempting to explain the situation.
He seems arrogant and condescending
DO NOT TAKE YOUR GUITAR HERE! I took my new $2000 fender strat elite model, and Billy the guitar tech there did a horrible set up job. Extremely poor craftsmenship. He told me to change my stock locking tuners to the vintage reissue set from stew Mac, so I listened and he decides to super glue them in place!!!!! There’s even little tiny drops of super glue on my headstock! If I scrape it off it’ll ruin the finish. He seriously has a ton of people fooled into thinking he really knows what he’s doing. I don’t usually post reviews but Man, this guy just put super glue all on my $2000 guitar. It’s a horrible feeling and there’s nothing I can do about it. I took it somewhere else, and I couldn’t be happier with the new guitar tech I have. He made my guitar feel like butter. I just want to warn everyone out there about this guy Billie at B&D. I even called and confronted him, he lied to me and said he never did it. He also put the bridge dead flat to the guitar body, told me never to use my tremolo because it will go out of tune no matter what. This guy is a fool. Glad billy didn’t get his hands on my $4000 dollar PRS! B&D HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. Just trying to help out my fellow musicians out here in phx. Thanks
PS. Below you can see his reply to my review, i showed up to his shop 4 times, he says he has no record of me as a customer. prob because he writes everything on paper with non legible handwriting. i played it and immediately it went out of tune when i gently pressed the whammy bar, he said i could not use it. lose the whammy bar. why? BECAUSE ITS SUPER GLUED TOGETHER
My experience was less than stellar. A vintage pickup mysteriously stopped working while in his care. I forgave it. Then, one guitar was given back filthy even though I specifically asked him to clean it as part of the service. Spare parts strewn in the case. And he was late. I was in a hurry when I picked up my stuff and didn’t realize most of this until I got home. I guess it’s just me he does this too. I try to frequent local small businesses, but why bother. You can’t count on anyone nowadays.
12. Precision Guitar
Address: 4442 N 7th Ave #6, Phoenix, AZ 85013 , Youngtown , Arizona , United States
After Colin fixed my problem in 2 minutes, I realized I’ve found my new guitar shop.
Quality guitar work. Had a fret level, crown, and polish done on a Gretsch and it was completed ahead of schedule and the price was very competitive to other local shops.
Great guys and great service
Great Lutheir, slow on service. No show room or walking room. Great for buying parts.
He had the item I was looking for.
This place is a good place for quality service
Atrocious customer service. Asked a question about my order, no response until after a week when I requested a refund. The responses after that were anything but professional. THEN he posted on my facebook Business page about our interaction COMPLETELY MISSING THE POINT. Besides the fact that the only business involved in this interaction was Precision Guitar.
This was for a guitar that I OWN. Had nothing to do with my business page. This speaks volumes to how unprofessional you are. Good job.
Edit: it has been a full day and he is STILL posting on my business page, which again, had nothing to do with this transaction.
Does anybody pick up the phone? Unless Google has the wrong number. I need some quotes on guitar intonation
It is always awesome.Ive personally known Jim for 20 years he is always perfesional way fair priced unlike the big competitor no names mentioned I bought a MARSHALL 100 watt half stack from him for $350.00 and he threw a set of brand new in the box castors for buying it his repair work is top notch and fair priced he doesn’t lye he’s very noligable in any form of music equipment or just music local or anybody he plays in three local bands as well go see JIM with all and any guitar issues
13. Guitar Center
Address: 8538 S Emerald Dr, Tempe, AZ 85284 , Youngtown , Arizona , United States
Met a cool guitar tech whom took great care to help with the necessary TLC my LP required..
Encuentras lo que buscas.
Kinda busy place..hard to get service
Friendly and helpful
Staff didn’t pay much attention to me. Was trying to buy an interface but the salesman kept getting distracted with other people. Ended up not buying anything there.
I went in to sell some pedals after 8 since I was busy with work. I walked In and stood behind someone selling their stuff. Once I was next the lady working there told me they don’t do sells or trades after 8. Although the person in front of me was selling??
Was at the store next door.
I went in looking for a tremelo pedal, which they had. What they didn’t have, was anyone willing to help me (the pedals aren’t just out to grab yourself). I left after about 15 minutes, and bought one on Reverb. Last visit ever. Everytime I go to a Guitar Center, I leave disappointed, and empty handed, only to make the purchase on Reverb.
Edit: A big no thank you on the canned response, Guitar Center… the same one you give to everyone. You care soooo much, that you’re willing to hit control-v!
14. Hunt Amplification, LLC
Address: 2202 W Lone Cactus Dr #4, Phoenix, AZ 85027 , Youngtown , Arizona , United States
Best amp man in town! Very honest, super nice, trustworthy man!
Hunt is the best amp tech I have used in 50 years!!!
Mr. Hunt is soft-spoken but knows the answers; humble yet competent. Above all, he’s not only maybe the best for repairing your amp in the metropolitan area; he’s honest too. I thought my amp was ruined. Turns out it just needed a quick cleaning, and he got it sounding great again fast. After reading the other reviews, I’ll definitely come to him once my amp needs some real work done on it. He’s a pleasure to talk to, and I would definitely trust him with my amps.
Highly recommended
A friend of a friend of a friend told me about this place when I asked where I should get my app worked on. It’s a bit out of the way north of Phoenix in an industrial park however very knowledgeable staff and from how they treated me very honest. The potential of me being ripped off based on the repairs was very high but I was told it would not be worth it my time or money to have the amp fixed it would be cheaper to buy a new or used one. I appreciate that very much.
Took an amp to get fixed. He said he would look at it. A month later, finally said he never really got around to it. 3 mont I called and said I would just pick it up. He said it would be best. Maybe take it somewhere else. Didn’t charge me and even loaded it in my car. He failed to put it all back together. Now, I’m missing the 2 fans in the back along with a whole circuit board. What a crook! Now, I can’t take it anywhere.
15. Milano Music
Address: 38 W Main St, Mesa, AZ 85201 , Youngtown , Arizona , United States
Amazing place to rent and buy musical items. The owner waited on us. Amazing experience. I recommend this store to every one.
Friendly employees! A classic staple of Mesa’s history!!!
They always have a good selection and good vibes
Found one of the pieces of music that I was looking for that I was looking for. They did not have a standard sax solo that my husband needed. It’s kind of hit-or-miss.
This has been “the music store” for many many years. It’s a good place to go if you have to get an instrument and most music music for schools. The service is still good even after all these years of service.
Expensive!!!
Had previously made the decision that the next bad customer service experience would be the last. But still came in to trade in an amp also bringing a couple gs for my dream acoustic…40 minutes later I walk out with my amp, guitarless but now a Sweetwater Customer.
And the afternoon of the 27th is hardly the day after Christmas…
Never again
Customer service is dishonest. My family called over 5 different times and we were all told “instrument rentals can only be returned here”. Turns, out, thats not the case, and you can find a location more local to you. I wasted over an hour of travel time returning an instrument. I’m finished doing business with them.
16. De-No Music Center
Address: 801 E Florence Blvd # B, Casa Grande, AZ 85122 , Youngtown , Arizona , United States
Took my tube amp here for repair/maintenance. The work was done in a timely manner and for a very reasonable price. Got everything done that it needed and it sounds the best its sounded since I got it. Definitely recommend!
Always helpful, insightful, and friendly.
We won’t go anywhere else for band equipment, or family musical needs.
“You Rock Deno’s!!!”
Love De-Nos! Great people here. They know what they are talking about and have great deals
hmm…
Best music shop.
They’re okay
I’ve been there quite a few times before. As a child the owner was alright but somehow he just became rude after a while. There was a time when I was 19(9 years ago) and there was an 800 dollar Jackson on the wall that I really wanted. I brought $850 dollars with me and jammed out on it for about 5 minutes, the owner came up to me and said “If you put one scratch on this I’m going to make you pay for it, do you understand?” I know I look young and I looked about 15 at the time but there have been several times(like yesterday{let me play for 4 minutes and told my party to leave when I wanted to buy a practice amp}) that I brought money in to make a purchase of over 300 dollars and he makes me uncomfortable or says something rude. If you need a reed, or if you need a rental, this is a good place. If you’re a musician, and you want to try stuff out, drive 40 minutes, the owner has been rude to me for 15 years. I swear he hates musicians.
Came in for guitar picks and strings and was thinking of buying an acoustic guitar on the wall. I asked if I could play it he said “yes”. I played a couple chords and got kicked out for playing it to “hard”.
Went to buy a guitar but no assistance from the clerk was offered and large sign indicated you can’t touch them without assistance so we left. Makes it difficult to make a purchase. To be fair the clerk was waiting on another customer but just continued to ignore us and didn’t even bother to say “hello” when we entered the store. Not much available there in the way of instruments unless you need used amps, guitar stands, cheap guitars, or ukuleles.
17. John’s Corner Music Shop
Address: 8680 AZ-69, Prescott Valley, AZ 86314 , Youngtown , Arizona , United States
Ol’ man John and the crew are the coolest and most helpful musical people I have ever met. If you want a hell-of-a-deal on an instrument and for the BEST price in town- you have found the right place. Also, the owner John can fix/repair ANY instrument you need fixing! He is also very gifted at making his own unique instruments! <3 We love you PAPA JOHN!
Very friendly and helpful. Walked out with a nice amp for my son…thank you.
Excellent service, friendly atmosphere, and great prices. Love these guys.
wouldn’t give it even one star! I just went in to grab some guitar strings and was never once acknowledged the whole time I was there. Not even a greeting. needless to say I walked out. Not sure what the deal is in this town but I have yet to encounter any sort of professionalism with the businesses here!!!
Low quality gear that is way over priced.
18. Brindley’s Music Center
Address: 836 N Arizona Ave, Chandler, AZ 85225 , Youngtown , Arizona , United States
Bought a used keyboard(bad idea). Couple days later things are coming loose and keys are getting stuck. Thought it was a total loss.
Found Brindleys online and called. Spoke to Gabe. Super friendly and willing to help. Brought her in and he called a week later and the keyboard is good as new.
Thanks for the help!

Good music store for those looking for something specific…not much to look at for those who want to look around or window shop (especially for drum equip). Other than that, it’s a good local music shop. They used to make their own brand of drumsticks, which were GREAT, but last time I went they said they no longer make them. Bummer!
They are wonderful people and always take care of their customer by heart.
My son wanted to buy from a local shop. He spent $400 of his own money on a used guitar, new amp and cord. The cord tip broke off in the amp input 3 weeks after purchase ruining the cord and amp. My son attempted to get a replacement with his receipt in hand and was told he would need to pay for the repair of the amp. When I called and spoke to the owner Bruce I encountered an arrogant and condescending man with little to no concern for the customer. Instead he proceeded to blame my son for the faulty cord and infer that the damage was caused by something he did. Mind you he has played on entry level equipment for years and never had a single issue. We also had an independent professional agree that the cord was faulty and caused the damage to the amp input. Regardless Bruce repeatedly told me something was fishy, that 2 plus 2 told him something else happened, that he had been in business for 43 years and I didn’t know anything and took the Lords name in vain time after time during our conversation. When I told him it was unfortunate that he wouldn’t correct the issue he told me I would be blackmailing him if a bad review was left. Sorry Bruce but their were no threats made, only a customer wanting others not to have their hard earned money thrown away. Be a professional. Based on some of the other reviews I have looked at it appears we are not the first, second or even third customers treated this way. When he continued to argue and obsess that he would dispute a review and it was apparent nothing else mattered I hung up. No amount of logic would change this mans mind. Fortunately we know the truth and he can convince himself otherwise all he wants. Their are plenty of local shops lile Milanos and corporate shops like Guitar Center who appreciate the business and know the value of a loyal customer!
Beware DO NOT RENT from them. They lied about insurance. They RENT beat up instruments then make you pay to fix them. Was told it would be $20 per repair then at register charged $25 per repair. Will never go back. Take my advise and take your business elsewhere
I had heard so many good things about this place from other musicians, so my S/O and I decided to try it out. We needed our guitars set up, mine electric, hers acoustic. When we brought the guitars in, we were given a sort of turned up nose treatment when we revealed our guitars. Mine a Purple Paul Reed Smith Custom 24, and hers an older blue Ibanez acoustic. Granted our guitars weren’t the most expensive, but we both loved them dearly (Mine was an anniversary present from her, and hers was her first guitar ever). I explained to the gentleman behind the counter what was going on with my guitar (Dead fret on the high E, also needing a full set up, action lowered, set up with 10’s.). My S/O explained that hers needed a set up as well. We handed over our guitars, and left with confidence.
A few days later we picked our guitars up, and went home to check them out. It. Was. Terrible. They raised the action on my PRS so high that it was almost unplayable, and the gentleman who did the set up said that he did so to get rid of the aforementioned dead fret, even though I gave express permission to do whatever was necessary to solve the issue while keeping the action LOW. That could have meant a level, crown, polish, replacement etc. Anything to keep the action low. My girlfriends acoustic buzzed so terribly on every single fret on the top three strings after we took it in, she has resorted to buying a brand new acoustic, because this place left hers unplayable. Now most people might say ”well if they messed up, take it back and have them fix it” but believe me when I say that when we saw the condition of our instruments, I would NEVER trust them in the hands of this place again. I really wanted to like this place, but after the treatment we and our instruments received, we’ll go elsewhere. Please stay away for your own good.

Went in to replace string on my daughters viola. The service received was exemplary. Although I love classical music, I am not a musician. Mike was very helpful when it came to replacing the string. Mikes passion for music was displayed through his approach in educating me on what to look for with tuning the instrument, what to look for when purchasing our next one(my twenty-one yr daughter used in fifth grade, so I inquired on a new one), was pleased to hear about the rental of an instrument automatically built equity for the purchase of one in the future. Mike was also able to look up our school’s string instructor and his book preference. Our instructor has stated that later in the year he will give us that information and that teaching strings first year and online is going to be a challenge. Knowing my daughters ability to learn quick I preferred to have the books now. I informed Mike I was very pleased and informed him we would be back for all music needs! Thanks Music & Arts!
Such a fantastic place! My son started with Viola lessons and has now moved to piano. Not only are the instructors amazing, but the whole staff is great!
There’s really cool stuff
Staff is very helpful and experienced!
Very basic selection.
They were kind enough to let us jam on their amp and electric guitar
Spent my money elsewhere because of the masks requirement.
NEGATIVE STARS IS MORE LIKE IT!!! I have had the WORST experience dealing with the customer service from Music and Arts. Everytime me or my husband try to call and resolve our bill we get told a different story! NOONE has helped us resolve the issue and it’s been over 4 months now. The amount of money I have paid Music and Arts already, I could have boughten an instrument. NOT worth the hassel and absolute HORRIBLE customer service!!! Save your money and time and go somewhere else!!
I don’t necessarily have a grievance with this store in particular but the company in general. When my children did not return in March due to COVID there was zero communication from the company as to what to do if we were currently renting from them. I called one day at the end of March to try and return the instrument and they said unless you can make it here by 5 pm tonight we are closing indefinitely due to Covid. They did not offer me any assistance or let me know there was a customer service line to call. I assumed this was a privately owned company. I tried calling today to see if I can return the instrument (we’ve been quarantined since March) and receive some sort of reimbursement due to the circumstances. The guy at the store told me there was a separate customer service number (oh NOW they tell me) that I would have to call to see if I can get a refund. I called and was told I should have called earlier to get my payments stopped and there was nothing they could do to get reimbursed for the months I have been paying for when I couldn’t return the instrument due to COVID and being quarantined. I don’t believe this is great customer service as almost every other company is offering Covid assistance and they will do nothing but keep my money.
Update- they just called me back and said if I return the instrument I could get half of my last months payment back. So I’ve been paying $27 a month for 4 months on an instrument that’s not even being used and they offer me roughly $13 dollars back. What a joke.
Selin could not have been a more perfect addition to our little wedding ceremony in Flagstaff. She was so capable, her communication was excellent throughout the whole process, she was so sweet, price was reasonable, and she is so incredibly talented. Her violin music was so lovely during the ceremony and our cocktail hour. We honestly wouldn’t have changed a thing and would highly recommend her for any event that needs that little something to make it more magical. Thank you so much!
Due to the wonderful presence of Seline, that special moment of my only daughter walking down the aisle at her wedding became much more. She went the extra mile and learned special songs that I wanted, from a country song I sang to my daughter, to a song by Paganini for the father daughter dance. Seline did it and she did it well like the true professional that she is. She is a delightful person with tremendous warm and outgoing personality. Everyone from the bride and groom to the photographer just loved her being with us. There are many violinists but there is only one Seline. Truly outstanding!
Esko is phenomenal!!! She has a standing evevt every Wednesday at Chic Chef 77! She’s trendy, hip gorgeous, and plays the violin like I’ve never experienced. Wednesdays are the highlight of my week!
