We’ve been coming here for months for lessons and I can’t say enough about Mr. Keltner and Ms. Kelly. They are phenomenal. Such a great staff. Dallas is a great instructor. Overall a Great location highly recommended and we appreciate all their hard work.
Very nice staff and instructors. I’m taking lessons there and everyone had been very helpful.
It had what I needed, so that was good. However, the staff seemed like they would’ve loved to be anywhere but at work.
3. Atlanta MusicSmith
Address: 924 Park Forest Dr NW, Lilburn, GA 30047 , Mountain Park , Georgia , United States
I very highly recommend Atlanta Musicians Exchange. I took in a vintage Ludwig Acrolite snare drum I bought on ebay that needed repair and cleaning. I received excellent service at a very reasonable price. The staff is friendly and professional. You’re in great hands with these guys.
Having spent hours and hours at three Guitar Centers in the Atlanta area, plus hours more on various websites looking for an acoustic drum set, I accidentally came across AME on google, and called them to see what used sets they had in stock. Mike, the very polite, humorous and knowledgable owner, informed me of his current stock. So I headed over to the store and was delighted to see 5-6 different sets in my price range (including Gretsch, PDP, Slingerland and Mapex). After asking Mike way too many questions, and borrowing a pair of sticks to test the sound, I ended up choosing a beautiful, metallic silver, 5 piece PDP set. He’d installed new skins so basically I got these for 50% off the price of new. He helped load the set into my SUV and off I went. I couldn’t be happier with the whole process, and strongly encourage anyone looking for used musical equipment to support this great local business – I bet you’ll be pleasantly surprised as I was!
Good deals, helpful staff! Mike goes out of his way to help!
Do not email these people. I emailed them about a guitar to trade. They responded a week and a half later with a rude email from someone named Mike saying they couldn’t view my link (by this time, I had already traded the guitar to someone). I told them I had traded the guitar already because they took a week and a half to respond. Mike then responded with an even ruder email implying that my guitar was probably junk anyway (it was actually a nice vintage copy of an ES-335). Absolutely atrocious customer service; should be avoided at all costs. I was looking forward to shopping there whether they wanted the guitar or not; I am now taking my business to Guitar Center and Music-Go-Round.
Horrible Customer service and NOT HELPFUL!! Instead of helping we with appropriate prices for my gear, I was ridiculed by the prices I thought might be appropriate. A ‘good luck with selling your stuff at those prices’ is all I got. I don’t appreciate the attitude and lack of consideration. All they could have said was ‘those prices are higher than market currently…have you thought of selling them for $$$$?’. Unfortunately the response I got causes me to NEVER want to shop at this place. Sellers BEWARE.
The photo of the wall of guitars is pretty much their entire stock. I’ve seen low-end pawn shops that are less cluttered.
5. Music Go Round – Atlanta/Duluth, GA
Address: 3675 Satellite Blvd # 100, Duluth, GA 30096 , Mountain Park , Georgia , United States
Great customer service and chillest music store vibes! Paulie and Davy were especially helpful in helping my brother and I pick out some gear!
I’ve bought and sold music gear here, the staff is super nice and very knowledgeable.
Lots of inventory. There are some good deals to be had. Inventory available in-store before it is available online.
Although we did not leave with our expectation(not their fault) they were very helpful and friendly. They have a great store
It’s a really awesome place I love that they mainly have used instruments
Cool store , chilled out , laid back & greasy
Dusty and disorganized. No temperature room like Guitar Center.
Was told that i wpuldnt have to worry abput getting low balled on my music equipment and that was a lie. Didnt even want cash just wanted a fair trade on an instrument. They seriously tryed to rip me off on my trade ins. Even when one of my items was completly new in box. Cant wait to see how much longer that guitar sets on there and no one buys it. Waisted two hours of my day and gas. Would have brought these guys lots of good buisness with new trade ins and buys on equipment.
Came in an hour before close to sell some gear. A couple of things:
1. Staff/atmosphere: The staff wasn’t very welcoming and made their annoyance known about me trying to get an appraisal an hour before close.
2. Accessibility: all the amps were disconnected, making it inaccessible to try out guitars.
3. Prices/trade-in value: They have a USA-made vintage guitar listed for $599. They barely offered me $200 for an almost identical guitar (same year, same condition) and claimed that “$200 is what they go for.”
Only reason I’m rating two stars instead of one is because they do have a good variety of instruments.
6. Music Trader
Address: 3964 Lawrenceville Hwy, Tucker, GA 30084 , Mountain Park , Georgia , United States
Paul is a great Guy , I’ve bought a bass and a guitar and assorted accessory’s from him . He’s also very knowledgeable about music gear. He will help you any way he can.
Brought my guitar here for a wiring repair, the gentleman behind the counter did an excellent job and was suuuuuper fast. Very good pricing for the repair and the gear in the store. They have all kinds of cool uncommon stuff as well. Definitely give them your business.
Great prices excellent customer service. Whether you are beginner amateur or professional musician this store has a wide variety of instruments and equipment and they have vast knowledge on all of their products.
It is a good shop. Paul is a good guy. They’re are often hidden gems.
Prices to high for old equipment
Came to sell some music equipment and instead of being given a counter offer. This clearly unprofessional and disinterested man behind the counter clapped and asked me to leave. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless you want your time wasted and your intelligence insulted. Just go to guitar center.
Edit. In an attempt to misrepresent me the owner has left a dishonest reply to this review. I was not offered proper customer service and I nor anyone that I work with will patronage your business. Best of luck to you as-well and I hope that you will take heed of the customer service practices of other more successful business in the area going forward.
I love music so why not got to the nearest music store around me! Well this my second time coming here only for a let down of course don’t try to sell to this guy just by coming in and him looking at it I received several smart comments from him. If u didn’t want it or it didn’t look like the best condition to you politely say SIR IM Sorry but I can not accept it but no he just played on the keyboard and said geez this is terrible condition told me the years like he was with me when I bought so with that being said I WILL NOT COME HERE ANYMORE! You have lost business from most of the Tucker area since middle to the high school music students and I understand why
7. Pro Music Outlet Inc
Address: 4135 Lavista Rd Suite 210, Tucker, GA 30084 , Mountain Park , Georgia , United States
Great service and great prices, definitely recommend whether you’re just starting out or a master at your instrument!
Tony know his stuff! 25 years experience can’t be touched!
Cool people
The owner Tony goes out of his way to make sure I have everything that I need. This is why I keep coming back to shop with Pro Music!
Real feel kinda place
These people cap Smh. Sold me a 100 mic.
In I end up looking it up smh this same mic is 22.dollars on Amazon. I Took it back right away
Alllllll Cap Over there look up the merchandise prices before u bye
I learn my lesson
Never open, when I visit
UPDATE:
I have visited 4 times, during business hours, only to find a sign saying there are closed for a break.
Great place if you want to buy equipment. Not so much if you want to sell your items . I’ve called the owner about some things I wanted to sell to this location, each time the owner lied and said he wasn’t there or he would call back tomorrow. Very unprofessional if you ask me , if you don’t want to do something just say it .. don’t lie to a customer.
8. Firehouse Guitars & Music
Address: 612 Medlock Rd, Decatur, GA 30033 , Mountain Park , Georgia , United States
This store blows the one in New Orleans out the water
Best GC in town! I’m a keyboard player and didn’t realize this store was more focused on synth and digital than the other stores. It’s like an arcade in there! Could easily get lost in the store for a couple of hours.
There was a new MusicMan Stringray bashes in stoxk
The new redesign is great. This is still the best guitar center location in Atlanta for selection.
The staff are fair-to-good, and the parking is ample. It’s just so incredibly corporate and sterile there.
Hurting on selection
Understaffed, terrible customer service
No bass strings
So today their “financial system” was down. But ironically they were able to take money from my account but weren’t able to give me the item that I purchased or a refund. One of the managers named Jared seem to be really bothered by the fact that I wanted a refund or my item. As I am writing this review I have yet to receive my item or a refund. I will not be purchasing anything from this place any more. I will be dealing primarily through Amazon. At least I won’t have to deal with frustrated employees. There was a time when customer satisfaction meant something but that is no longer. The idea that I am forced to shoulder the burden of a big corporation’s failure just doesn’t sit well with me. R.I.P brick and mortar stores.
My favorite twins! These two have an incredible stage presence and really know how to put on a great show! Even better – they are authentic and kind with everyone they meet.
I love this band! I have followed them for many years, since they started playing together. Their live shows are an awesome and fun experience! They know how to rock!
These ladies are amazing. Talented. Hard working. Grounded. Great with fans. Haley and Alexis might be twins but their different experiences when combined produced amazing results. Haley with her vocal range and depth. Alexis with her awesome guitar. And theres Chris Love who provides the beats.
All are great songwriters and are just getting started. When at a live show you are captivated. They audience is mesmerized when Haley & Alexis on stage. You feel the emotions. The groove. The power of Haley’s voice and stage presence and Alexis guitar riffs.
Their debut full length album ALL IN is a must have in your collection.
Awesome experience. Super responsive communication with the goal of helping the customer. Shipped lightning fast and arrived just as described.
Thanks and God bless!
Great transaction, super fast shipping. I wish the shop had a bigger inventory,
Great shopping experience! Quick fulfillment, thanks.
13. Walmart Supercenter
Address: 1825 Rockbridge Rd SW, Stone Mountain, GA 30087 , Mountain Park , Georgia , United States
Great place. Good customer service. They had everything I needed
Fast and convenient!!
They had everything I needed, as always!
I Like The Store I Visit Quite Often. Lines Tend To Be Long Though From Time To Time..
Wonderful Eye Center
Needed new o/o cotton bra’s for my big girls. So difficult to find my size. Actual think I found some. But, come-on, CLEAN CHECK-OUT BELT’S! And, this line had an attendant.
It has been a couple of changes in the past few months, but the lack of representative in the store, slows down the in and out purpose of shopping, I really appreciate if they could improve the cashier a little, I know they are doing their best with what they got, but just a little bit more of cashier will help.
There is no reason why my fiancé had to go into Walmart & put our groceries in the car himself on a pick up order!! We were waiting 25 minutes & called several times, no answer. Do not do a pick up order from this Walmart!!!! You will be better off going in there to get the groceries yourself! Folks standing around doing nothing, instead of their job. I didn’t know the night shift was a party.
Worst Walmart around, nobody knows anything when come to help or answer questions, order something online give me the wrong item the refund me like I bought in the store and not online ridiculous
14. Guitar Center
Address: 970 North Point Dr Suite A120, Alpharetta, GA 30022 , Mountain Park , Georgia , United States
Sold out first guitar. Even though they told us it was only worth we finally got rid of it for $90
Crystal is a wonderful manager. Dan in repairs, is as knowledgeable as Jet is about all the latest in musical technology. Katie has an eye for detail, and Zach is always able to help with any needs of the guests visiting the Alpharetta Guitar Center location. It’s a lot better to interact on site versus website thanks to the crew!
Everyone is very helpful!
It’s your typical gutair center with slightly less stock.
Staff is knowledgeable and friendly, unfortunately the selection for certain things is lacking, such as Bass material.
Awesome guitars
Had strings put on a classical guitar. I could have done a better job.
Worst experience I think I have ever had in a Guitar Center. I walked into the store, wasn’t approached by any salesmen, until about 30 minutes later after asking multiple people, and having everyone point to someone else. The whole time the staff was nowhere to be found, or laughing hysterically or avoiding customers. I’ve spent thousands of dollars over the years at multiple locations, and this place is a laughing stock. Not only is the staff worthless, but their knowledge on what they have in the store is quite embarassing. Do yourself a favor and shop at Ken Stanton, Maple St. Guitars in Atlanta, Earthshaking Music, or other local shops. Never spending another dime at this place.
Poor and disappointing customer service. Curbside pickup is promoted but no-one delivers the purchase outside to the car. I had to go inside. It took long to find my order and even longer to get the receipt. In the meantime the salesperson touched everything from the items I purchased to the ID I had to show. The salesperson acted unfriendly and as it was my fault that it took so long and how I even could dare to request his time to obtain my already paid for purchase. I would not recommend shopping here. There is a Guitar center in Atlanta and one in Lawrenceville, these have a friendly and much better customer service.
15. Ken Stanton Music
Address: 6010 North Point Pkwy, Alpharetta, GA 30022 , Mountain Park , Georgia , United States
Good customer service is hard to find these days, but I just had the best customer service experience of my life at Ken Stanton Music in Alpharetta. I just bought a new Nord Stage 3 keyboard from them, and Mario Hernandez was really helpful. He got the board shipped from their Stone Mountain store (Alpharetta was sold out), gave me a quick tutorial when it arrived on how it worked, and then left me alone to just play it to see if it was the right one for me. I decided to buy it, and Mario gave me a great deal. I soon paid up and brought it home. But that’s just the start of the story.
Once I got it home, I became more and more disappointed with the Nord. So much so that I decided to return it. But when I read the return policy, it said there was a restocking fee of 20%. My mistake would cost me close to a thousand bucks if I returned it! So I called Mario and explained my situation. He listened very closely, asked me to wait 2 minutes so he could talk with his manager, and then explained what my options were. Turns out they were very flexible and willing to work with me to take the return. Mario was bending over backwards to relax the “rules” and make me a happy customer. He was even willing to spend time teaching me the ins and outs of the Stage 3 to make sure I was making the right decision. I was floored, and very thankful.
At this point I’ve decided to keep the Nord, but I know that if I had returned it I would have been really happy with the results. So if you’re in the market for keyboard, I can’t recommend Mario Hernandez highly enough – go see him and become an extremely happy customer like I am!
I have taken drum lessons there for over a year now. The staff is wonderful. Glen and Chaney have spent a lot of time with me when it was time to buy a new drum kit and hardware. Mitch Kiley is one the best music teachers I have experienced. He teaches drums and helps me with my band pieces as well. I do all my music business there.
Very professional, knowledgeable, honest and fairly priced. Not to mention Steve Moss ( the Guitar Teacher ) there is very good.
I am visiting from Las Vegas and found Cheney Brannon, in the drum department to be friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to spend a few minutes with me. Cheney will be getting a call from me next year when I will be ready to buy my new Tama Star or Starclassic kit……
Friendly, very helpful
Do not rent an instrument from this company….they double bill and then report negatively to credit agencies, purchase may be ok
DO NOT LEASE OR RENT
My brother plays trombone in school marching band and it broke over time. So I brought him here to repair the trombone, rented one and got some accessories that requires from school. Anyway one little page clip we bought was wrong we went back here bought new one and keeps forgetting to return the unused clip.
Today I finally spare some time to return the part but they refused to refund me because it was out of the return date. I asked nicely if there’s anything I can do maybe store credit because it’s going to be a waste anyway if I bring back home again. They still refused and suggested me to donate it to the school??
I must say I’m very disappointed because I’m a regular customer that spent like $500+ here already and u cannot even store credit me like $14 bucks. I feel like the least you can do is give out the store credit if you smart enough so maybe you can keep this customer.
So eventually I just left the piece to them and left. Probably won’t come back no more
Horrible experience ! My son has to rent a band instrument from this company. We received the instrument at school with the promess that if he would change his mind we could go to the store and exchange the instrument not problem. After 10 days he wanna to change the instrument, we went to the Alpharetta location. NOBODY would know what to do. Firs we were told that we were moot in their system because they haven’t had enough time to enter all the customers of the past 2 weeks. We wait for one hour and a half before someone had a clue of what to do. They were happily taken new customers, new rentals but not us. To make it worst finally the manager figure it out but ran my credit without my personal approval for a “rental”! Are you kidding me???
It was at least 15 employees at the store at that time, even tried other instruments took forever because they did not had enough mouth pieces available. My son had to decided between 2.
I wish I won’t have to go again but sadly our school is working with this company. If you can decide run away as fast as you can.
Bob Haley/Classic Winds was so great to us as my daughter began on the clarinet. The rental process was smooth and easy, without any hassle or extra charges. We then purchased an instrument with the same great service and some extra assistance and time from Bob.
Bob Haley is an accomplished, classical saxophonist, well known, and an asset to the state and community. He possesses a deep- heart felt understanding of the history of the saxophone, and imparts this comprehensive knowledge to his students and their parents via summer performance programs, post workshop concerts, and other community concerts that are educational and perfectly entertaining. My son has been with him since 7th grade, +5 years. Excellent programs and instructors.
18. Cooper Piano
Address: 1610 NE Expy NE, Atlanta, GA 30329 , Mountain Park , Georgia , United States
Just had my piano tuned by a wonderful piano technician, Brent, from Cooper Piano. Very happy with the service and my piano sounds great again!
I also had the pleasure of working with Cooper Piano when they received and moved my piano into my home late last year after a long distance move. They took great care of my piano so that it arrived safely at my home.
For both services, everyone at Cooper Piano has been very professional and wonderful to work with. I will definitely call on them again for my future piano needs.
Thank you for providing top quality pianos and customer service! Your sales team is excellent. We’re happy with our Yamaha C3 Grand piano purchase for our 15 year old daughter. This piano is perfect in sound, look and feel.
Very great staff! Made my piano purchase a very enjoyable experience. Would highly recommend anyone to consider this piano dealer when looking to buy a new piano.
While the selection is ok, the staff at this location are awfully rude. Unless you are 100% interested in purchasing a piano it is in your best interest to not show up.
GREAT selection? Absolutely. Customer service? Lacking. Next door to Cooper Piano, there’s a Yahama distributor, and the sales associates there are incredibly friendly, supportive, and knowledgeable!
Ever watched that scene from the movie “Pretty Woman” where Julia Roberts is completely disregarded or taken seriously by the salesmen based off of her looks? Well that is the exact way me and my fiancé were made to feel upon entering Cooper piano. From the start, I felt like an inconvenience to the salesman and given that there were ZERO customers in the store and five salesmen, including one woman with a snide look on her face, just sitting around, that is quite ridiculous. Me and my fiancé had just traveled all the way from Nashville to look at pianos. Needless to say, we might have been a touch disheveled. I am a serious player and while I may not have looked too important at the time, I am able to drop several thousand on a piano given that I find the one that best suits my needs. I even have one that I am interested in trading and the offer made to me, sight unseen, was insulting! That offer was even made by the owner of the store. To top it off, once the saleman found out that I was a serious buyer, both he and the owner began to try and shame me into believing that I was getting a very good deal on an offer they made for a piano I was interested in. I am not an idiot. I play piano professionally and I am very particular about the instruments that I purchase. I currently own four pianos. While at Cooper piano, I did find one that was an excellent instrument. One that I am, or was, seriously considering buying. That being said, as much as I love the piano, I refuse to give my business to such inconsiderate, rude, and completely disrespectful salesmen. I played dumb, because that’s what they wanted. But all the while, I knew I was being fed a load of bull! Salesmen at this store will clearly tell you whatever they want in order to get the sale. I think that every single one of them needs to have a lesson in southern etiquette and how to look and act professionally towards their customers. After all, this is the south and there is a right and wrong way to treat people. Especially if you want to do business.
Take it from someone who has been into countless pianos stores all across the country and has played hundreds of pianos while dealing with dozens of salesmen. Do yourself a favor. Go somewhere else.
