Drove 430 miles to Flagler to pick up my new Discovery, rather than have it shipped to me. I’m so glad I did. Got to meet the Mullen Crew and see how the guitars are built. They take great pride in what they do, and now I’m proud to be a Mullen owner. Great People! Thank You.
II`ve had 2 of their steels and found them to be no less than top notch. there is simply nothing negative to be said about the mullen steel guitars or the great folks that build them. warren tavernia
Maravilhosa Pedal Steel Guitar! Comprei um modelo Royal Precision e estou extremamente satisfeito!
2. Community Cupboard
Address: 221 S Main St, Yuma, CO 80759 , Yuma County , Colorado , United States
I love this shop. They have books, jewelry, household goods of all kinds, clothing, shoes, baby and childrens clothing as well. Everything is clean and organized, and I can usually find a book or two…..or three or four!!!!!
Genuine people working to make ends meet!
It’s a fairly nice 2nd hand.
This place is ran by people who care about others.
Carries used clothes at a decent price, kitchen ware bedding and other slightly used items
3. Redbox
Address: 801 S Main St, Yuma, CO 80759 , Yuma County , Colorado , United States
Haven’t been in a while because I live so far away, but I have never found another music store on par with this one. Hopefully once I graduate and start making that career moneh I can come back and visit and maybe get another awesome acoustic guitar.
Love this place. The owners are incredible!
What a great find! Found this exploring beautiful Evergreen and was so impressed by the unique and beautiful instruments. Loved the inlaid wood guitars, hand crafted wood picks and unique Ocarina. Great prices and Ed was so helpful showing me around and answering all my questions.
6. Steve’s Guitars
Address: 19 N 4th St, Carbondale, CO 81623 , Yuma County , Colorado , United States
Always great music, best little venue. 6 stars really
Reached in regards to assistance in finding a band for a company holiday party, Ralph was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about music in the area
Such a unique spot for musician lovers, guitars and other musical instruments cover the walls. I often here some great music playing when I walk by
Intimate venue blanketed in an eclectic collection of guitars. Great for solo or small acts to play in, especially warm acoustics.
It’s ok
Intimate, beautiful guitar display. Fun nice place to get to know musicians upclose. Byob.
This place chronically doesn’t pay their musicians who play there. 50% cut of door sales?? No response when folks try to collect their earnings?? Support local music – not this place.
7. Music & Arts
Address: 7350 W 88th Ave Suite B, Westminster, CO 80021 , Yuma County , Colorado , United States
We have rented, bought and taken lessons at Music & Arts. The prices are good and it’s a great business all around. Recommend!
The Staff are very helpful, nice and very friendly. The instructors are awesome. My kiddo takes clarinet and piano lessons and they are fabulous teachers.
Always helpful staff
Organized and clean nice staff they don’t buy instruments
I am a music teacher. This is my go to for lesson books for my students.
Was able to buy a great violin
Charged my son for several months during covid and would not facilitate a return. Very unprofessional considering the circumstances.
Never rent from him! Horrible service and horrible place!
ABSOLUTELY DO NOT USE RENTAL PROGRAM if you think you’ll end up buying the instrument later. They lie about the details. I was told several times to keep renting in order to accrue funds to purchase a good instrument but found out after 3 years of renting that only 24 months worth of rental money goes towards buying a new instrument. You’re allowed to use more than 24 months worth to buy a used instrument but they jack the price of the used instrument up so you’re actually loosing money overall. They charged me over $900 for a used instrument (that I can buy on Craigslist for $400,) which cost $1100 new! I reached out to them to correct the issue and they didn’t even bother to reply back to me. DO NOT RENT!!!! Buy a used instrument and you can always turn around and sell it again if you/your child change your mind about playing.
UPDATE: about 6 months after I posted this review M&A finally got around to contacting me about the problem. The service rep I spoke with told me the serial number on our instrument indicated that we had purchased a saxophone. Except of course it was NOT a saxophone. But it might explain why they charged me an outrageous price. The rep had me email some information to customer service and she said I’d hear back from them. I did not hear anything from them for months so I finally called back. I was told they had closed the complaint as resolved.
8. HB Woodsongs
Address: 3101 28th St, Boulder, CO 80301 , Yuma County , Colorado , United States
From the moment I walk into Woodsongs to the moment I leave, there is a smile on my face. :). Love these guys. They know what they are doing and are the best around!
Very quaint store that I plan to return to. This place is obviously guitar oriented, but friendly to all instruments. Their website could use a LOT of work, but their reeds are relatively cheap!
A great shop in every respect. As nice as they are knowledgeable. The highly skilled work that Matt has done on my Collings guitars is absolutely impeccable. It is really nice to be able to trust that your prized instruments are in such good hands. My unreserved highest recommendation.
Small but nice musical instruments stores. They don’t have a lot of stuff (my only complaint), but you be able to find some accessories and also some high-end acoustic guitars. Salespersons are friendly and they also have a music school in this place.
Called long distance for a specific piece of sheet music. While they do not have it in the store, the sales rep named Derek was extremely helpful and courteous. Kudos to him.
Great ukalele selection
Very friendly staff, unfortunately way over-priced. You can find some of the exact same items on ebay or Amazon for less than half the price at this store.
9. Redbox
Address: 402 W 3rd St, Wray, CO 80758 , Yuma County , Colorado , United States
Andy and Kim are so kind and helpful. Ive come to Flesher since I was a kid and now so do my kids.
Can’t imagine going anywhere else.
Cool music store for sure. The floor guy was very helpful in answering questions about my saxophone and the repair guys were AWESOME. Prior, I took my 25 year old alto somewhere else to get repaired. It didn’t seem right so I dropped by flesher. They pointed out all kinds of neglected leaks and loose springs. It got corrected at a reasonable price and it plays great. Should have went here first.
Came in to by reeds and the F-H staff was very helpful and reassuring to my 11 year old, who is just learning to play saxophone. They answered his questions (and mine) and he left feeling much better about his prospects than when we came in. Thank you so much! P.S. Miss you on Tennyson but the parking IS way better at the new location.
The people employees are professional, knowledgeable, and ready to help!
As with any store like this, you can expect them to be salesmen, though they don’t push too hard and don’t avoid helping you find the lowest priced items.
The technicians are great, but I wish they had a bit more enthusiasm.
If you are testing out brass instruments or such, the practice room they put me in had too much reverb to get accurate samples, even with a recording device. I have yet to ask if they had a more acoustically dry room.
They can order sheet music and products, and have all the basics and many accessories for band musicians.
Like always the services people were just great.
There’s parking at the new location. Really reasonably priced supplies. Not the best selection for buying instruments though. Since their relocation, seems they’re putting more emphasis on instrument repair. Still probably the best music supply shop in the area
Went in to check out acoustic guitars earlier today. Got an important call as I was about to tune a guitar I was checking out and the guy behind the counter just starts blowing into some sort of wind instrument seemingly deliberately because taking a quick phone call. So I hung up the guitar and just walked out.
But the guy who welcomed me when I walked in seemed nice.
Just terrible experience! Purchased a new wood clarinet 5 months ago. Found out it was cracking, unfortunately happens if not taken care of, but not in the first 5 months.
Took 2+ months to fix, when we finally picked it up, some old guy in the store started telling my 16 year old daughter about keeping it greased every six months- lecturing her because it was so dried out! Finally stepped in and told him…we bought it here less than 5 months ago…in other words, you sold an old dried out clarinet for $2000.00. Will never ever step foot in this store again d/t the service dept.
11. GLENWOOD MUSIC
Address: 3102 Blake Ave D, Glenwood Springs, CO 81601 , Yuma County , Colorado , United States
These guys are great. I have bought instruments, music and supplies from them for years, and they are always available with helpful advice.
Nice store lots of extras and very helpful staff and the prices are great
High marks for Kevin who quickly and completely took care of some maintenance on my guitar today. Always a good experience with Glenwood Music.
Nice store!
Guess you’re not open until 6pm…
I may have never purchased anything from this store, but they have a kickass mural of a gorilla playing a Flying V on the side of the building and it rules. The gorilla is probably playing “Cemetery Gates” by Pantera at full blast.
Very disrespectful people. I hate spending my money there but it’s the only local music store 🙁
Some nice people working at this store, but unfortunately the guitar tech with the beard is so rude, egotistical, mean, and basically the opposite of customer service, that I would not be able to make any major purchases from this store. I certainly would not let them lay hands on any of my instruments. Fine if you want some strings or picks, but if you ask for a serious recommendation, you will likely be insulted rather than given any useful help. Unfortunately for the owner, guitar techs at any level are hard to fine. If you don’t like your job bro, quit and get a new job, it’s nobody’s fault except your own. Music is a social hobby, so maybe it’s just not for you.
Terrible service. Always regret spending money there because of the service.
12. Harrelson Music Inc
Address: 1900 Railroad Ave F, Rifle, CO 81650 , Yuma County , Colorado , United States
I’ve known and played music with Dave previously and haven’t seen him in a very long time, when I went to his shop this past weekend we conversed and caught up on the events of our lives over the past few years and it was just like old times, and he just happened to have a great little Bass that he made me a great deal on, thanks Dave and I hope everyone comes to see you for their music needs
Awesome shop with friendly staff
Great Service.
Great people makes great places
13. Twice Around thrift store
Address: 285 W 2nd St, Wray, CO 80758 , Yuma County , Colorado , United States
Awesome shop. Huge selection and the best staff and owner!!
I found some truly great finds but I also will say, there’s strong competition. Go and see what she carries, it’ll surprise you!
Yes the store is full but every year for the past 3yrs I have been able to buy school work an dress clothes for 3 people an I send less than $600 bucks for all of us so August 27th I’m going back again an I live in nw KS an I be going up Dec for Xmas gilts
Not a bad little store. My gf and I liked coming here frequently. But the owners are a bit rude . And sometime It felt like we’re not allowed to touch anything .
Lots and lots of good deals in this store! Brand name jeans for a $1! Yes it is over packed but I’d rather have good deals then walk out empty handed! The store hours on the door aren’t accurate and no one answers the phone. Hit or miss when trying to pick a good day to come shop.
Would like to get in touch with you. You are never open
The very first time I went in, which will always be the last time I go in. It looked like the were hoarding more than they were selling, which is bad for business if you can’t walk on a floor with stepping over merchandise
Been going in this store for several years, had considered the owners as friends…on Tuesday the 8th of August my daughter and I went in to look around…I was told we needed to leave our purses at the counter…I replied I’m not leaving our purses anywhere. I told my daughter that we need to go…I told the owner GOODBYE & I’ll never be back!
14. Olde Town Pickin’ Parlor
Address: 7515 Grandview Ave, Arvada, CO 80002 , Yuma County , Colorado , United States
One of coolest guitar stores I’ve even been in. Great staff, great selection, great vibe.
Been using this shop for repairs and setups for about 10 years now. I also frequent the store whenever I’m in town. Always a pleasure
Amazing old music shop feel, with great selection of acoustics.
The shop is beautiful!
I don’t know anything about picking parlor but I must say Olde Town has potential to be great. But…. they tear down way to many old interesting buildings that should be preserved and keep the Olde Town real. And I have to rate downtown a 3 with all the cigarette butts that are littered throughout the entire town! It is DISGUSTING!!!
They were unwilling to negotiate the price (at all) towards a trade in, which was a bummer. Don’t expect any deals here because you won’t get one. I would come back here if there was a guitar I really wanted, but otherwise there are similar guitars in same or better condition on craigslist for less, and without sales tax. He wanted 2600+ for a Martin HD28v with a crack in it.
I attempted to get my daughters violin finger positions taped prior to her concert tomorrow and the tech person on staff was not able to help but did suggest a couple other shops.
Staff wasn’t interested in helping us, they seemed preoccupied with more important things…
Disappointing that employees won’t wear a mask, despite the sign on their front door saying it’s required. Decent selection but generally lacking in customer service.
15. Jimmy’s Music & Supply
Address: 1239 Main Ave Ste 101, Durango, CO 81301 , Yuma County , Colorado , United States
Hey everybody, this is the place to go. Jimmy is awesome, and super knowledgeable. He did a great job adjusting/setting up an electric guitar for me and I couldn’t be happier. If you are looking to support a great local shop I definitely recommend Jimmy’s!
Great shop with helpful staff!
Wonderful service, wonder place. They fixed my guitar so beautifully and affordably! Thank you Jimmy!
Jimmy’s music was very nice store however seemed understaffed.
Cute store pack with tons of things.
Good local music, guitar store
They did not have what we were looking for.
Had my mind set on buying a new piano keyboard and supporting this local music store in Durango and to know that the workers (maybe even the owners) don’t know how to treat their customers is very disappointing. When I walked in I wasn’t greeted, even after a few minutes I wasnt asked how I was doing or IF I NEEDED HELP FINDING ANYTHING. I know what you’re thinking “maybe he was busy” nooooo! Because there was another worker there and no one else was in the store. I wasn’t addressed or anything until I was about to leave. I know I’m an adult and maybe I should have just asked him myself but if I’m gonna spend a few hundred dollars at your store then I’d expect to be treated like it let alone be WELCOMED INTO THE STORE! But my question is why? Did I not looked like a serious buyer? Was it cause I was wearing a mask? Or was it cause I was brown? My questions are valid and justified through the actions of the workers. Sad to know that people are treated differently for whatever reason. Such a bad impression on the community and very disappointing experience.
16. Graner School of Music
Address: 4460 Barnes Rd, Colorado Springs, CO 80917 , Yuma County , Colorado , United States
Loved the store and customer service! We got tons of help for our son to pick the right instrument. The salesman was very patient and detailed. Prices are also very reasonable!
We have been using another music company closer to our home, but they had no double French horns for rent. Glad for Graner to give another option! Staff is knowledgeable and eager to help.
Located immediately across from Doherty high school, fyi.
Great local music store. We have used Graner for our kids’ musical needs since 2011. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful.
Great service, very helpful!
Great place for kids to get musical lessons, voice lessons and books and instruments. They also do repairs here
Very helpful. Explained all contracts well, good with kids, instructors onsite. Staff helpful.
Chelsea with Graner music is the most unprofessional and unreasonable person I have ever dealt with. I would highly encourage you to go with another company and not rent equipment through this one. The principal at my child’s school forewarned me about Graner and I wish I would have listened.
Went to exchange guitar string, and wow what an attitude. Now I will remove my grandkids from their guitar lessons school. And take them some where else. Yoga can thank your sales guy at the guitat counter fir these.
Did not repair what they said they were going to repair. I trusted them and only realized when my kid went to play it. If they make it right I will update my review. This is absolutely horrible. I can’t believe they would do this to a local school teacher.
17. Hackl Guitars Repair Shop
Address: 3139 Milwaukee St, Denver, CO 80205 , Yuma County , Colorado , United States
Now, we all know guitars are sensitive to climate and moisture. We also know that the air in Denver is high and dry. So, what happens when we move to town and bring our guitars with us from sea level?
They crap out on us. But we know some other things.
We know that a good tech can quickly get our guitars ready to play, even if they barely survived the pressure changes in the back of a U-Haul. We also know that the best techs can get our guitars to play better than they ever have before. So, what happens when we bring our guitars to Hackl Guitars?
Our guitars rock again.
P.S. Basses too!
Justin Has Worked On Several Of My Guitars, His Work Is Outstanding. Great Guy As Well!
Great value, great work, very quick repair time. If you need work on you guitar or bass, Hackl Guitars is the place.
Awesome service. Very helpful.
18. Roper Music
Address: 1224 N 25th St, Grand Junction, CO 81501 , Yuma County , Colorado , United States
Went for some repair, service was super fast, very nice behavior, and they didn’t charge me a $. simply wow!
New,location is bigger and perfect!
Amazing Store. Great Service and Prices
Knowledgeable staff, very friendly and helpful
Roper Music has always been my “go to place” whenever I need anything musical.
Nice people but not the best selection of basic music equipment (for example, no slides for guitar).
Usually great service, this time took instrument in for repair, was told $85 and be ready the next day. 10 days later, after calling twice it was “found”. bill $95
Rip off – their lack of patience with me has cost me a few hundred dollars, but it will cost them my business for life and perhaps others as well. Get your instruments elsewhere.
Strange vibe. Poor customer service, high overpriced.
19. D’Angelico Guitars Aspen Showroom
Address: 240 S Mill St Suite #201, Aspen, CO 81611 , Yuma County , Colorado , United States
Amazing showroom! Great people and guitars. Greatest semi-hollows you can get!
Best guitar shop I’ve ever been in. I stopped in on a whim after seeing all of the eye candy in the windows. I received a warm friendly welcome. I play bass. After some friendly conversation, I tried out an acoustic model and bought it on the spot. I feel I got a fair to very good price that included free shipping. I flew home on Tuesday and my new souvenir from Aspen arrived on Wednesday…polished and in tune. Awesome experience. Highly recommended!
My home away from home
Great find- been playing guitars for decades and happened to stumble across this store.
Very impressed with the guitars and the showroom.
The store manager was very helpful and explained the brand in detail to my friend who accompanied me. He was knowledgeable, friendly and NOT pushy.
Def felt comfortable inside the store with their couches. Place was well appointed and very clean and tidy!
The guitars seemed well built and had great action and time.
Def considering this brand when I’m ready to increase the guitar herd.
Beautiful guitars! Walking into the store, you see the beautiful guitars and equipment out and ready to play. The staff here was nice and welcoming. Sadly, I’ve bought too many guitars in my life and couldn’t get another for the guitar’s sake. If, in the future, I ever want to buy another (for some reason), this is probably going to be the first place I look. Overall, I absolutely recommend these guitars for their good prices and amazing craftsmanship.
8/10
