Great antique store!! The selection is great! The store is clean and well maintained. The lady running the store…Tonya … is amazing!! Wonderful experience.
They ACTUALLY have real antiques but the prices are a bit high. Still, a neat place to wander through and I did actually find something great for a Christmas present that was very reasonably priced and in great condition!
Chris at Ruth Guitars is pretty much the only person I trust w my gtrs. I play over 200 shows a year, and trust Chris w all my electronic work, set ups, he’s even lent me a couple custom made LG Series guitars for high profile gigs. His custom builds come standard w superior hardware including premium handwired pickups. From repairs to tone-shaping and beyond, Chris at Ruth Guitars always goes above expectations and over-delivers a product that is eye-catching, fun to play, sounds impossibly good, custom made to your specs, and affordable. Call him TODAY for any repair or maintenance, its getting cold out! You’ll want to get your hands on one of his numerous custom builds (If you can get it off his wall long enough I recommend the black LG model) and start spec’ing YOUR handmade custom model. Pictured below is the TC model w literally too many tonal options to list here. Your tonal palette is only limited by your own imagination. Chris can bring your dream sound to your hands! I wish I could give more than 5-stars!
So, I brought my project guitar to Ruth Guitars that I’ve been holding onto for years. I asked him to build it how he would like it. Oops! Turned out way better than I had ever thought! He was able to install the neck, wire in a crazy cool pick up, added strings and locking bar for the tuners. Superb work! I’ve played several of his guitars and they all have great action and are super comfortable! Highly recommended!
I’ve always been around music, singing in my church’s choir. However, I’ve always wanted to learn how to play different instruments from piano to guitar. MEP helped me learn piano and enhance my vocals. If you, friends or family want to learn or enhance any aspect of your musical talents (or lack thereof), I strongly encourage you use their services!

Had ever thing I was looking for and prices were amazing
These guys are great and most of their items for sale are reasonably priced they give great deals and are very nice people
Great employees they really know their business.
Apparently they don’t answer phones there. Must have fired the phone person I guess
Brought my daughters PS3 in to be looked at at the beginning of August. The guys there swore up and down it was next in line they just need the right part and the right part was always on its way. Well 2 months later I’m informed it’s not fixable. That was a complete waste of time.
They have a sign out front that says they buy diamonds, coins, gold, & silver. I go in with silver/silver coins and the dude straight up told me they don’t buy silver are coins

These guys know Gear!! Awsome tagima guitars in store!! If you haven’t tried a Tagima Guitar go check them out!! I was very impressed!!!
Best person in GA. To give guitar lessons.
Very friendly, they helped us with guitar accessories.
Old time classic music shop.
Fantastic store , good people..
If you’re looking to take guitar or drum lessons this is your place.
Took a guitar here to get EMG pickups installed. I had the work done but the pickup wiring would not fit under the pick guard. I took it in and said, “This needs routed for a 9 volt, please don’t touch the action.” I got it back with the EMG’s “installed” poorly with all of the wire crammed under the guard, the tech, Walter, CUT OFF my solderless connections, used an improper passive tone pot, and soldered things in place thus ruining the modular nature of the solderless connections.
When I plugged the guitar in back home I was getting serious hum with overdrive pedals. Also, the tone pot, as expected, really just did nothing until about the last mm of turn radius then it killed all the treble at once. ALSO, the tremelo and action had been adjusted HIGHER than when I brought it in. Sigh. Anyhow, I took it back and the kept it for a month. I called and they said, “Oh yeah Walter said there’s nothing wrong with this guitar.”
When I returned the guitar to them I asked that Walter not touch it and to please use a different tech. So today I’ve made my third trip down there (it’s an hour one way) to pick up the guitar and they said they’d get it running right for me so it’s still there. I’ve ASKED for my money back and to take the guitar with me and they said the best they can do is “take another look at it.” It’s been there for a month and a half altogether.
Today I went and picked up the guitar. It still hums. He told me “the amp is making the guitar hum” which is of course impossible. So I plugged it into another amp and it hummed. He said, “EMG’s just do that sometimes.” So I spent 60.00 for them to break my guitar, they would not refund my money, then charged me ANOTHER 30 bucks to pick it up today, ignoring the fact that they already have 60.00 from me for a faulty pickup install. I will NEVER go here again and my local buddies won’t, either. Should’ve just given me a refund or simply not charged me today. FINALLY, after plugging the guitar in back at home I’ve figured this out. Somehow they wired it so ALL pickups would tap with the coil tap/my single coil tones are thin compared to my other EMG loaded strat. Position 1 sounds like the middle position on a tele and sounds NOTHING like a neck single coil, position two is dark/mud, positions 3 and 4 are the SAME TONE with absolutely no change whatsoever, and position 5 is the only one that works right. They assured me it was wired right and insisted on charging me as a result. The only position functioning properly is the bridge pickup.
Lancaster music is infinitely time better and also bad service. One time I asked for a thing that they sell on their store that I saw a week ago and they said that they never had that in there store
Shady business! Sold me a used mandolin that is damaged and had the pick guard removed, didn’t say anything, hoping I wouldn’t notice, which I didn’t (wasn’t very familiar with mandolins & they knew this). There are holes in the instrument where the guard was removed. I think they even sold me a different one than the one they advertised online, for some reason. Wouldn’t answer my emails. Horrible people!

Top notch customer service! Very nice selection of weapons and merchandise at a great price!
Great place family owned and operated great selection guns
They have a ton of guns and accessories, but the prices seemed a bit high.
These people are great I was let down when I paid my pawn off I didn’t receive my pawn back. I’ve tried several times to reach out but was told to come in but I love several hours away now.
Have purchased ammo here before, they are very nice people but have insane prices right now. Understand it’s a pandemic and all and it’s hard to get much of anything, and they have to pay more for what they can actually get and all, but asking $319.99 on a preowned (never been shot) Taurus G2C is absolutely insane, when they run $217 in Dahlonega regularly brand new (and usually in stock) and $229-$249 at big box stores. No reason it should be almost $100 more than a brand new one. Don’t understand it but they are clowns with prices like these
I asked about this particular pistol and the lady said that you can put a stock on it and go have fun. It was a uzi copy a Masterpiece, but I told her what she was telling me to do was a federal crime and that I’d have to register it as an sbr and they shook their heads in confusion like I was crazy. Also 1$ a round for STEEL CASE 223 then when they had Fiocchi 223 brass they had it the same price. 20 packs of M855 Winchester is 7-9$ everywhere else it was 25$ dollars here. 300$ HiPoint Firearms are 700$+ here would not recommend. Price gouging at its finest.
nadie habla español y malos precios malos. no bueno
18. Megatone Music
Address: 44b Town Sq, Blairsville, GA 30512 , Alto , Georgia , United States
Super friendly people. Grandson taking lessons with a great instructor. Love guitars and more? This is well worth the visit.
My most recent purchase from Megatone was a vintage archtop guitar. Prior to that I purchased parts, strings, and small items. Regardless of the size of the purchase I was always treated well. During the process of buying this guitar I received friendly and helpful service. Never did I feel pressured to buy. I got a great instrument for a fair price. It was a complete pleasure to deal with these folks. A great store in the scenic mountain town of Blairsville.
Just recieved a Gibson t-shirt from Megatone. Very fast shipping and they were so kind to also provide a business card. Great place!
Ordered a brand new guitar for a present and it arrived with a scuff. Not sure if it was packed like this or it happened during transit. I sent a freindly message to Megatone Music about it and the initial response I got was that it was a mislabled used guitar, not a brand new one as advertized. Then he said that i scratched it and its not a big deal, my friend will be happy with a present. Not a pleasant expereince. Seller’s responses seem manipulative.
I think this business is struggling and so they will be deceitful in any way to get a few extra dollars. Beware of this business, you will not receive friendly support if they make a mistake.
I highly recommend staying away from this place.
Even a simple order of a single item can turn into an issue with this place. Save yourself the hassle and do not associate with this business.
19. Jackson’s Music Store Inc
Address: 1651 Horizon Pkwy #500, Buford, GA 30518 , Alto , Georgia , United States
I love this music store! Always great service, knowledgeable and super friendly!
Jackson’s repair artist, Doug, recently rebuilt my Selmer Mark VI. I say artist because Doug took the job to a level which surpasses just a collection of new parts being installed and rather added an organic component that only a caring professional with a mindset of a job meeting a standard only they are able to lay eyes to and understand. Doug certainly meets and surpasses the highest of modern professional repair standards and has my highest recommendation.
My son damaged his saxophone 2 days before his Allstate Audition. How that happened is another story but I called Jackson music to see when it could be repaired. They told me it could take 2 to 3 days. I came the next morning and Doug, their repair guy, was gracious enough to come give it a quick evaluation on the spot. Although he was extremely busy between repairs for two different stores he told me he could fix it that same day. True to his word it was restored by end of day. Appreciate him going above and beyond!! This JM store has always provided great service to us!
Always pleasant – always professional and it’s been that way since I moved into the area!
I’ve read some of the complaints here and I’ve not had those experiences and I shop there a couple times a year. I also understand how smaller music stores value the integrity of their new products by trying to limit maring the guitar finish with picks. You wanna do that you’re right- go to Guitar Center.
First rate staff and ownership and first rate lessons with an experienced staff!
I’ll keep going back!
Chad was very helpful.

Me gustan esta tiendas. Puedes ver variedad de instrumentos. Y si quieres tomar clases de música de cualquier instrumento, este es el lugar. Puedes encontrar diferentes tipos de instrumentos. (Viento, Percusión, cuerda, etc.)
I called to see if they could do a repair on my son’s flute. They said to bring it in, they could do it but would charge an extra
20% for a rush job. I dropped it off and called in the next day to see if the repairs had been done, as my son had a Christmas concert he needed it for. I got Doug the repair man on the phone. He said he doesn’t do rush jobs and he was way to busy to deal with it. He treated me very unprofessional and they honestly don’t care about keeping anyone’s business. Please don’t waste your time here as I did.
I can say with confidence that the Band and Orchestra repair shop and some really great Teachers are the ONLY REASON to give this company any of your money. You can trust your brass repairs to be flawless. Those are the only positive comments have.
If I could give zero or lower stars I would. My son’s saxophone gave him problems from the start. I was told on 4 occasions to bring it in. Today Brandon told me he would finally be in, he wasn’t. When I didn’t understand the question to do you have others I could look at, he responded “I have two eyes”. Rude beyond belief! Never again Jackson Music and I’ll make sure to share this with the band families at all the schools I work with as an administrator. Horrible customer service! UPDATE: The nice woman owner called and apologized. I forgive her and believe she doesn’t condone that type behavior.
