Nice folk run the place; if you are in the neighborhood, looking for antiques, clothes or miscellaneous things, go there.
I was here at the thrift store. They have lots of good stuff and reasonable prices. They are only open one day a week that I can remember, so at times they can be quite busy. I would recommend this thrift store to everyone. Good quality for second hand and good prices to match. They are very fair in the prices they are asking for their goods.
Currently you need to schedule a appointment to donate furniture
Went to the thrift store and I found a couple of things I was looking for.
2. Consumer Music
Address: 1017 Tennessee St, Vallejo, CA 94590 , Angwin , California , United States
High quality instruments, experienced sales people and excellent music lessons makes Consumer Music the best place to visit, shop and learn.
My son has been taking drum lessons at another school for years. He has been attending this school for a couple of weeks and is already learning things that haven’t been taught to him at the formal school.
Excellent selection and friendly staff.
My grandkids love the drums there
I’ve been trusting Brad at consumer music for all my guitar set ups, restoration and mods for almost half my life at this point. Friendly, down to earth service with most accessories you could think of at a basic level.
the only reason I give the place I’ve been going to for years a 4 out of 5 is because they don’t have Guitar Center style stock with every brand imaginable, but it’s a perfect place to pick starter or intermediate focused gear
Thanks guys for keeping this store up and running in our town for long time and for your “Fusion Fridays” that are the few opportunities we have in town to perform live.
Your prices are competitive and the several years you have in this bussiness have helped you to have what we really need with the security that you allways back us up .
Thanks also to the owner(s) that have kept his bussiness up and running against the super competitive world of the “unknown faces of the internet no warranty world”
Good job! and for our neghbohrs : please buy localy
I called to inquire about the repair of my ESP Ltd Bass Guitar yesterday and spoke to an employee who was condescending and rude. Truthfully, you can receive better customer service and more informative musicians at Guitar Center then this dump. I’ll never come back.
Also, prices are outrageous compared to any online source and this shop should be taken as a last resort. They never have anything in stock.
Called for a very simple setup request. I don’t have the time to sit down and dial in a 1970s bass and I needed it done today, since my regular guy wasn’t available. Just some remaining fret buzz. 20 minutes for a guy whonknows his stuff….easy money that i was willing to pay. I called and explained that I know what I need I’ve been around a long time and it’s a very quick job I’m willing to pay for. Whoever this was on the phone tried to tell me I needed a fret job without even looking at it, and then ask why I couldn’t just do it myself….then put me on hold forn10nminutes to check his schedule.
Cool. I will.
Im surprised this ghost town store would turn down the business. If you want to buy C level instruments at high prices or maybe just a mic stand or something this might be the shop for you. If you are a pro musician who wants to deal with other Pro musicians, definitely do not go to this dump.
Never returns a call
3. Live Music Center
Address: 874 Alamo Dr, Vacaville, CA 95688 , Angwin , California , United States
My grandchildren have taken lessons at the Live Music Center on Alamo Drive, with wonderful experiences. From the courteous staff to the excellent teachers, it has been a pleasure doing business with the Center. My musicians are now in their respective school bands.
My son did lessons there and every time he’d come home he would talk about his teacher Chris and all the similar intrests they had. He would also come home playing tons of new songs and chords! Give that man a raise.
Great staff!!
4. Strings & Things
Address: 901 N Main St, Lakeport, CA 95453 , Angwin , California , United States
Awesome man who owns the music store. Also gives music lessons. All kinds of stuff in this store
Very nice little store packed FULL of a nice variety of instruments, music books/sheet music, instrument accessories (guitar strings, etc.). The people were friendly and helpful, including to my three young children.
I love string and things. I take guitar lessons at Strings and Things; the instructor makes learning really easy.
Nice little place with several items to choose from. Jim, the owner, is very knowledgeable and can provide lessons and repair.
Ok for various things.
I have been a guitar player for years…strings and things has it all!!! Jim is a very nice guy and knows a lot. I love the small town feel in his store!!!!
I found Jim to be cold and disinterested, borderline hostile unfortunately. I order the strings he has never heard of online. Jim appears to be a bit of a fence. I would question the provenance of an instrument from this shop. The music shoppe from a Stephen King film.
Hugo is the best guitar maker I’ve ever met. Thank you for the jewel you built for me! I highly recommand him
Hugo is a luthier that is incredibly humble and easy to work with. He can do anything from a simple restring to building a guitar or bass from start to finish.
He is great with repairs as well!
The headstock on one of my ironbirds was snapped and poorly repaired by a previous owner and Hugo came up with a seamless solution that has restored the structural integrity back to even better than it was brand new.
He also has a very quick turn around!
Hugo is the best to work with and I have had him work on ALL of my guitars!
Hugo is a true artist! Very professional. A pleasure to work with!
in my experience, somewhat careless and unprofessional. damaged the finish on my instrument and didn’t acknowledge it or seem to notice. really surprising. poor communication, unresponsive and flaky.
UPDATE: received really nice, flowery reply from the owner here. that sounds good and all on the surface in terms of appearances, but the conundrum is that now we have a person who brought us here in the first place by being unresponsive inviting me to message them.
6. Manor Music
Address: 460 Manor Plaza, Pacifica, CA 94044 , Angwin , California , United States
I try to give the local businesses as much business as I can and since Manner Music is the only music store for miles, This is where I shop for things like need.
Plus, I have known Sarah since the mid 1960s!
It has everything I need for the budding guitarist in me. The staff is friendly and helpful.
Went in there about an hour before it closed…. just sort of fumbled around looking at various things…. they got some good stuff in here…. it’s a nice little shop for anyone who lives out here on the coastal peninsula who doesn’t want to drive all the way to San Mateo or San fransico for a guitar center
This weekend I came into Manor to pick up some sheet music for inspiration. I picked up a few older books from the back of the store, and I was surprised that they charged the original cover print price (~$20 per book) on books printed in 1995.. I should have spoken up at the time, but the more I thought about it the more I wanted to know if this was a mistake? !
I got great personal attention. David answered a lot of my questions both on the phone and in the store for a rental saxaphone for my 9 year old nephew.
Store has new and used equipment for sale or rent. Rental equipment is much more reasonable than Serramonte music center.
They have a wide range of instruments, just not very good quality ones. Most of the inventory is probably best suited for beginning musicians. As far as guitars go, the best one I saw was a mid-range Seagull. Most are just plywood guitars. I constantly wonder how they stay in business. Staff members seem to be friendly.
Terrible attitude. Not helpful. Never go back again!
7. Foggy Mountain Music
Address: 104 W Main St, Grass Valley, CA 95945 , Angwin , California , United States
So many things to choose from, All quality instruments whether used, refurbished, or brand new, you’ll have the time of your life, either browsing or buying, you won’t regret visiting this quaint music store.
Great Music store. Nice employees and very helpful!!
Musical Equipment
Best knowledgeable music store around gv they will even let you hookup and play a toon to tryout equipment they offer lessons and have a friendly helpful staff looking to fitt your specific needs and interests
To my surprise this lil mountain store was very well stocked with Fender strats and basses. A very nice selection of aucustic guitars. The staff was nice and friendly.
While it may seem like a bit of a hole-in-the-wall, the store offers a plethora of instruments and other musical paraphernalia. Music lessons also offered!
Over priced
Drove there on Sunday, as Google said they were open. They were not.
Very help was able to give me alot of information on a hard to get part
Diane the owner of shop is super helpful. She will go the extra mile to help. If she does not carry something in store she will make the the effort to order for you or direct you to others that may carry them. Love this store.
So friendly and helpful! Diane was more than happy to help with any questions and even restrung our ukelele for a left-handed person. It’s a service they offer but one well chosen. They offer mostly guitars and related accessories but also a small sepection of keyboards and percussion. They also have reeds and brass/woodwind accessories and can help with ordering those instruments, although they don’t sell any in store. Regardless they o7ld be able to make that happen with the appropriate knowledge so you can’t really go wrong!
Very comfortable music store. Counterman Josh was very accommodating and pleasant. Nice for an old boy to be so Pleasantly treated.
Nice shop well stocked great prices friendly service
Friendly help and advice and a good selection of guitars and other equipment.
So, the 9v for my pickups was heating up. I took off the back cover and saw a tangled mess. I took it to Napa Music Supply and asked them to fix it. I paid $55 and they said they would try to put some kind of bracket to hold the battery. I
tested it at the shop and all seemed fine. Later I started noticing my tone knob had a bad connection and was cutting in and out. I took it apart and to my surprise… I found a $55 master piece!!! They took apart only 1 solder that was going from 1 wire to 4 wires… It still looks like garbage, still has bad connections and excessive solder… At to top it off… My 9v bracket is a piece of tissue wrapped around the battery and held on with a rubber band!
9. R Pals Music
Address: 820 3rd St, Napa, CA 94558 , Angwin , California , United States
I got my saxophone here, pretty good. He gave me reeds, my books, everything I needed so I’ll give this place 5 stars
I got my clarinet at this place, no one in my music class got theirs from here. I don’t care, I think this is a very decent music store
We’ve been to this locally owned music shop for many things (violin strings repaired, bought a guitar there, bought reeds, had an old clarinet refurbished) and the owner is nice, good at what he does, and it’s affordable. Always been very happy going there for our family’s music needs. (Only downside is sometimes his shop has limited hours.)
Horrible customer service. Place sucks go somewhere else
