Date of performance 06-19-21: One month prior to our wedding date, we contacted Adeline on Gig Salad to perform the ceremony music for our Wedding. I cannot say enough good things about Adeline and her performance!! Throughout the planning processes, she was prompt to respond to all of my inquiries and met with us over zoom since my husband and I were novices to hiring a musician for an event like this. Not only did Adeline bring ideas to the table but she was also open to learning a new song from the recessional piece of our wedding (“Sign, sealed & delivered” by Stevie Wonder). Adeline definitely added that extra element to our wedding to make it truly magical!

Phenomenal store, excellent staff. Been there for over 10 years!
Nice instrument’s, specially warwick basses. Some good Boss pedals, one guy part of the staff not too nice though. They could do better receiving customers. Closing the doors of the music school on your face doesn’t seem like a charming or effective welcoming strategy.
Nothing to write home about, but I did have a nice conversation with two of the guys that worked there and they shared some interesting insights on the manufacturing sales evolution over time, as well as dealing with other countries for business transactions.
Great place sat 3pm was crowded and they only had one staff so longer then normal for service.
Selection is pretty low for almost everything. If you need a starter instrument, lessons, or basic supplies then look no further.
They tend to charge list price, but will usually come down to comparable prices if you argue with them. They frequently don’t have what I’m looking for, but they get 2 stars for a total lack of other options in Delaware. Better off driving to the larger competitors in Cherry Hill, NJ.
Not good…. I am new in town and looking for a new music store and when I arrived here the store was dirty with parts and equipment laying on the ground. Then when I found someone and asked about a mic stand they showed me they only had 1 which was way over priced for a cheap stand then when I went to ask another question I was ignored so I just left… I really wish I could have utilized this store instead of driving to guitar center 🙁
8. Music & Arts
Address: 4707 Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington, DE 19808 , Brookside , Delaware , United States
Super friendly and my daughter loves going to her piano lessons.
Very helpful and friendly staff!
This is great shop having very friendly staffs they answer your all questions you have with patience and with their good knowledge. Here you can buy or rent different musical instruments and different music classes also by great teachers in the area.
They only sell small ticket items in store, but they will order whatever you want.
Wonderful store
Friendly staff , good service
Upon my arrival, at the Wilmington DE location, I was greeted with the clerk pulling out rubber gloves. At first, I thought they required a rectal exam of their patrons. I was then told I needed to wear gloves to peruse their books. I walked out and went down the road to Accent Music and purchased what I needed. I’ll never spend another dime at M&A. Let’s support the rational.
They keep charging me after I made the payment over a month ago by phone. Their main office doesn’t communicate efficiently with their stores and vice versa. They claim they can’t see a transaction history of my payment even though it’s RIGHT on my bank account and cleared. I offered to bring a copy of my bank statement and they always say they’ll follow up and don’t. It is incredibly annoying and frustrating to have to deal with something so menial in such a poor manner. They keep sending me collection letters for something I PAID! If this hits my credit because they can’t communicate effectively I will be sure to make a HUGE deal.
This low rating is not a reflection of the Kirkwood Highway store personnel but rather Music & Arts Corporate and their “customer service”. We have been a customer of the store for years including lessons, instrument purchases and instrument service and repair. Everyone we’ve ever dealt with IN THE STORE has been lovely, helpful and knowledgeable. At the beginning of the summer we signed up for weekly lessons for half of June plus July and August in preparation for marching band season. I cancelled, in store, (on August 13th)our weekly lesson effective end of August and specifically requested that the auto debit be cancelled effective immediately as we had already paid for August. In spite of that we were charged for lessons for the month of September. I called the store immediately and was told they had cancelled the lessons on their end but were experiencing issues with a new company-wide system. They put through a request for a refund that day. After a week I called the store again and told them the money had not been refunded. They assured me it had been reported to corporate and that was all they could do from their end. Today I called the corporate number and experienced the worst possible customer service. The woman was cranky and short with me right off the bat and would only tell me that a refund would take 4 weeks. When I asked why she said, “that’s our policy”. She had not bothered to ask my name, my location or any dates. When I requested confirmation that the refund was in process she reluctantly took my information and treated me like I had interrupted her lunch break. And then, she told me she couldn’t tell me anything, had no idea if my refund request had been made, told me to wait 4 weeks and call back. When I said that wasn’t a good enough answer she told me I’d have to call the store. So, total waste of time, including the 15 minute wait on hold. I did call the store back and though they were apologetic they could not do much as they have no control over the refund process. Kevin, the store manager, took all my info again and said he would email the lesson coordinator and his district manager and would let me know if he had any further information. I understand this has happened to a number of customers which is outrageous. In this day and age how can a large corporation not be able to timely cancel an auto deduction or at least have a system to log refund requests and be able to tell you if the request has been received? Further, why the hell would it take 4 weeks to refund my money? Absolutely unacceptable. I can’t imagine we would deal with Music & Arts again and certainly would not recommend the company which is a shame because the employees and teachers are great. Seriously, who wants to deal with illegitimate automatic deductions from your bank account???For that matter who wants to loan M & A’s $150. (interest free) for a month at a time??? Imagine if you had 2 or 3 students and were out $300-400 for that amount of time?!? Ridiculous!
9. Simply Sound Vibrations
Address: 1220 Capitol Tr, Newark, DE 19711 , Brookside , Delaware , United States
Very friendly and professional. Super knowledgeable and fun to talk to. My guitar came back playing like it was brand new. I will be back for sure
Good but the prices where a little high on some stuff . Overall it was a good experience.
Had 2 of my guitars worked on here, around 4 years ago. (i know its been awhile but i just started doing these google reviews) A BC rich with a Floyd rose trem which just got a normal setup plus had a pickup changed out in a Gibson Flying V. First off the price seemed way too steep for the BC rich which was around $125 for a simple setup. The Gibson had way too much hum after he installed the Seymour Duncan. The worst part was the guy stole my stock Gibson pup that he replaced after i specifically said to put it in the case when it was done. I will never go here again for guitar work and this experience is one of the reasons i learned how to do these things on my own. Just go to guitar center or dean sapp for instrument work
11. Family Dollar
Address: 20 Marrows Rd, Newark, DE 19713 , Brookside , Delaware , United States
Nice place but kind of cluttered, very nice associates.
Very nice employees, great prices and amazing things you can find for a decent price. But, it’s not always organized and feels to clutter at times. Also, it says it opens at 9am but I arrived at 1030am to grab something I needed and the doors were both locked.
The store is really dirty and literally one cluttered aisle away from a slip and fall lawsuit
Yall just lost my service.
There were 3 employees behind the counter and one was counting the register while the other 2 just stood there. It was roughly about 10mins before the other employee got on and helped the line. This happened around 3:10pm.

The most helpful and considerate manager and staff you could ever expect. Every time I go, I feel like a friend is helping me out. The selection is outstanding, never to disappoint.
Extremely well equipped local music store which specializes in student instrument rental and music lessons. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff of actual working musicians. They have the ability to custom order any instruments and the prices are very reasonable. I would highly recommend this place.

Clean store and the store associate very helpful
Does not have guitar nuts..
This store is probably better suited for school aged musicians. A majority of their business is with students and they seem to provide great services. In terms of buying a guitar, there is not a great guitar selection, nor do the employees seem too interested in selling guitars. If you are a guitarist or a starting guitarist I would seek advice or expertise else-ware. This store seems more interested in selling what they already have rather than making sure the guitar is the right choice for the person. Which granted is most stores, but I have heard of them suggesting right handed guitars for lefties regardless of which position is the most comfortable to play. This school of thought is antiquated and a red flag in my opinion.
Horrible customer service. Don’t expect a call back cause u will never get it accept from Mike, best one in there. Ended up dealing with the Camden store where they are fantastic, helpful and never made me feel like I was a problem while trying to make the right decision buying an instrument.
Horrible store. Worst customer service and prices in the music business. This place reminds me of Accent Music….terrible. Selection is poor and prices are for the rich. I will NEVER go back into this store again 🙁
BnB Music is worth the drive. I will be commuting for my music needs from now on.
If I can give ZERO stars I will without any hesitation. They have the worst staff with major attitude issues. You walk in as a customer and ask them something, they get irritated for “doing their job”. Guess all they want to do is listen to their iphone and spend free time there !! There is a guy by name “Josh” – he is among the worst ! The second is his manger I guess, the one with the long hair. I don’t want to even remember his name. When my daughter’s flute was repaired and sent here (5 visits and yet they don’t have a clue what’s going on), these guys acted as if Kirkwood store is responsibile and was extremely disresepctful. Throwing the client files on the table and one guy almost approaching me (Josh) with an attitude to confront. The other guy with the long hair started yelling and pointing fingers. My daughter and I exited with embarassment. This is what we get for being a customer for 5 + years. Kevin from Kirkwood store on the other hand is very gentle, helpful and completely customer oriented. Middletown store – no wonder has only few customers or students walking in even before COVID. The staffs there definitely need customer service training and importantly emotional intelligence. A bunch of arrogant inexperienced men showing their anger and frustration in life on customers ! Pathetic & Horrible !! Stay away from this store if you want a good customer experience overall.
Excellent service experience yesterday. Folks from Iron Hill installed my original system in 2015, and upgraded to my Sony ES 385 Projector and Sony 940E in 2017. This visit fine-tuned my system and allowed me to fully utilize my projector. Patrick (installer) is an ACE. I will continue to utilize Iron Hill as my needs evolve.
They were on time, very polite, and did a wonderful job.
I have worked with these guys for 15+ years. Dan and the crew have taken care of my needs at four different restaurants now. We will always lean on them for a good and honest job done.
Cheers!
I would definitely recommend their services. Sometimes the communication can get a bit lost in translation over email but they have always made sure everything was situated as it should be in the end.
17. Staples
Address: 1 Chestnut Hill Plaza, Newark, DE 19713 , Brookside , Delaware , United States
Have to give props to Sean and Heather from the copy and print department. We had to place a fairly large order with a small time window, on a Friday mind you. After explaining the situation and some slight modifications they were able to fulfill our order and complete it just in time. I’m sure they weren’t happy about it, but they remained courteous and professional towards us. All the stars for you!!
Staples had everything I needed for my new office. I purchased a guest office chair , desk accessories and other items. They have a nice selection for all price points.
The lady that helped me was very helpful and was there when I needed her every time. So respectful. I wished they cold clone her.
Low inventory on shelves and prices have gotten higher
Meh. Below average location. Unpleasant rude staff
Awesome customer service
Can here at 8. Store was not open as advertised. Waited til 8:10 and nothing. Waste of time.
Closed on Saturday morning due to staffing issues
Service has hit rock-bottom in this store. The only visible associate didn’t know what a modem was. The store manager didn’t have a clue how modems and routers work together, but rather than admit that, she tried to fake her way through — all this after leaving me standing for seven minutes after I asked for assistance. When the associate told her again I was looking for help, she said, “Yeah, I see her.” I could hear her clearly. There only two other people in the store doing self-copying.
18. 12 Volt Specialist
Address: 42 Albe Dr Suite B, Newark, DE 19702 , Brookside , Delaware , United States
Had a Drone remote starter installed on our Traverse. John is absolutely stellar in what he does. He is very professional showing me what is out on the market. He understood exactly what I was looking for and gave me the best option. I would recommend him to anyone looking for any aftermarket car add-on.
Strongly Recommend. Good Vibes And Clean Work. I Love This Place!!!!
12 Volt did me right, first John was very patient with me and explain everything to me , took my phone call when I called , reply to my text message when I text him.
His shop is in Delaware not far from Philadelphia airport about a 40 minutes ride well worth it, his shop put on my fog light , under glow kit, brake lights , turn signal lights, my angel wings and my grill protection/ radiator cover .
My wife was thinking getting a slingshot and John was able to tell her about it and give her a crash course ….
Great job John you and your team is the bomb
Thanks John and 12 Volt
Great work, good prices walked me through every step. I will be back.
19. Guitar Center
Address: 5141 Brandywine Pkwy, Wilmington, DE 19803 , Brookside , Delaware , United States
They installed a badass 2 bridge on my fender and did a superb job. The tech was very professional and even asked me to bring my other bass so he could set the action the same way.
Great selection of products and friendly staff.
It’s a nice store, however our customer service experience left little to be desired.
exelente
Bought a set of drum mics. Out of 7 of these, only two of them worked. The description said the condition was “very good”
Now I have to go through a bunch of return/exchanging to get what I should have gotten in the first place. Super annoying. Someone should be testing these to make sure they actually work before selling them.
The workers a here are some of the rudest I have ever dealt with. I was talked down to today on the phone by someone who obviously didn’t want to deal with me because they didn’t think I was going to make them any money. When I asked to talk to a manager because the worker obviously didn’t know what they were talking about, they hung up on me. I remember when you had to know something to work at Guitar Center. Now I guess they get their applicants from the local Burger King. The manager I talked to wasn’t any better. They just brushed me off. I’ll happily give my money to Sweetwater after this treatment.
Beautiful guitars but don’t buy any used preamped bass speakers
