Just made a phone call to them to see if they had something before I drove down there. John answered the phone, so pleasant !! He went out on the floor, found what I wanted and then asked if I want it held behind the counter..
Perfect Customer Service!!
I love this store! The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly!
I went in and liked the staff and they helped me. Very friendly people. They sold me guitar strings.
Does not have guitar nuts..
Clean store and the store associate very helpful
As the parent of a middle school musician, this store is convenient for us and will order something quickly if they don’t have it. I haven’t been thrilled with our music lesson experience (some seem over priced and its rare that you get your full time due to so many lessons scheduled) am not sure that we will continue with lessons if we can find alternative. However, my son thinks his saxophone instructor is great and that’s an important part of the experience. He needs to be comfortable with who we use.
Horrible store. Worst customer service and prices in the music business. This place reminds me of Accent Music….terrible. Selection is poor and prices are for the rich. I will NEVER go back into this store again 🙁
BnB Music is worth the drive. I will be commuting for my music needs from now on.
Horrible customer service. Don’t expect a call back cause u will never get it accept from Mike, best one in there. Ended up dealing with the Camden store where they are fantastic, helpful and never made me feel like I was a problem while trying to make the right decision buying an instrument.
If I can give ZERO stars I will without any hesitation. They have the worst staff with major attitude issues. You walk in as a customer and ask them something, they get irritated for “doing their job”. Guess all they want to do is listen to their iphone and spend free time there !! There is a guy by name “Josh” – he is among the worst ! The second is his manger I guess, the one with the long hair. I don’t want to even remember his name. When my daughter’s flute was repaired and sent here (5 visits and yet they don’t have a clue what’s going on), these guys acted as if Kirkwood store is responsibile and was extremely disresepctful. Throwing the client files on the table and one guy almost approaching me (Josh) with an attitude to confront. The other guy with the long hair started yelling and pointing fingers. My daughter and I exited with embarassment. This is what we get for being a customer for 5 + years. Kevin from Kirkwood store on the other hand is very gentle, helpful and completely customer oriented. Middletown store – no wonder has only few customers or students walking in even before COVID. The staffs there definitely need customer service training and importantly emotional intelligence. A bunch of arrogant inexperienced men showing their anger and frustration in life on customers ! Pathetic & Horrible !! Stay away from this store if you want a good customer experience overall.
3. Music & Arts
Address: 17903 Willie Rd, Lewes, DE 19958 , Burutu , Delaware , United States
Thanks to Bill and Chris for the stress free guitar buying experience. They let me take my time, and encouraged me to play and sample all comparable guitars.
Visited the store, Chris was great help, very knowledgeable and friendly, we will be back!
Very impressed with this store. Both Chris and Jim are very knowledgeable and super friendly and helpful. Jim helped me select a portable PA system for events in my clubhouse. He spent a lot of time with me explaining things as I only had a vague idea of what I really needed. When I came back to pick up my purchase Jim once again spent time with me showing how to connect things and explaining how things work. We did sound checks with Chris. I was very pleased with the equipment Jim recommended! I walked out one happy customer! I highly recommend visiting this store, and Jim and Chris!
Nice Store with helpful staff !
I lot of choices
I have went in this place like 20 times askin them for a specific pedal they still hwve yet to order it months later better off going online and saving money gas time and your life
4. Seaford Music
Address: 22876 Sussex Hwy UNIT 3, Seaford, DE 19973 , Burutu , Delaware , United States
Awesome place. Very helpful, professional, and knowledgeable. I always brought my bass here for general maintenance and checking out the great merch.
Great prices. Great people. One stop shop that actually lets you try the instruments yourself instead of other stores that demo it for you. Staff is very knowledgeable and Dave the owner can get you or make you about anything you need!
Best music store around!!!
Friendly staff and good selection
Had a good assortment of goods
Very friendly people. Very helpfull to me
Called to know if they had any Tenor Saxophones and he had a bad attitude.
Just wasn’t sure why it was so unorganized and messy
Bought a few pieces of gear here. All above market price, first amp fried in less than a year, PRS guitar with cosmetic damage you could only see in certain light. And a PRS amp, brand new, that developd tube rattle in 3 months, even though I paid $300 over market value. Sadly, these small businesses don’t really do anything about the products they sell. But they’re definitely more expensive.
5. Millsboro Music
Address: 28482 Dupont Blvd, Millsboro, DE 19966 , Burutu , Delaware , United States
Learned to play guitar here. They have really good prices and everyone is very informative and nice here. When I bought a electric guitar I brought it here and it was in playing condition and clean in a very timely manner. I was getting lessons weekly and am now just going in on occasion but it was always a great experience walking and being able to learn something new and enjoy doing it.
My Daughter loves her music lessons with Mr. Jhon Adam and his dad are very curteous and good people.
Best place to take music lessosns and repairs.
Staff are sociable, courteous, and helpful. Only place around where I was able to find viola strings over-the-counter.
6. Music & Arts
Address: 4707 Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington, DE 19808 , Burutu , Delaware , United States
Best customer service possible. Today was the second visit requiring the repair of my sons alto saxophone. On Both visits they repaired the sax while I waited. Now I understand why our music teacher highly recommends this music and arts location.
They have gained a loyal customer!
The staff at Music & Arts are very thorough and courteous. Elijah was very helpful and on point in assisting my daughter and I with getting her saxophone for band.
THIS IS A GEM OF A MUSIC STORE! STAFF, MERCHANDISE, PRICES!!!!!!! 10 GOLD
Wonderful store
They only sell small ticket items in store, but they will order whatever you want.
Friendly staff , good service
I purchased a single set of music lessons from Music & Arts, and they auto-billed me for recurring lessons. After multiple trips to the store, and the personal assurances of the store manager that the incorrectly billed lessons would be refunded, I eventually requested a chargeback on my credit card after they failed to refund me.
Then they re-charged me for the amount I got back in my credit card chargeback, and immediately sent my account to collections!
They will charge you for services not rendered, lie to your face about fixing their own errors, and then damage your credit score when you have to take matters into your own hands to address their theft against you.
This is quite literally the single least ethical business I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Stay far, far away.
Terrible service. My girlfriend takes her son here for guitar and the teacher stood them up 5 different times and they didn’t reimburse her for 3 of those 5 classes. There staff told her son not to attend the class on 12/21/18 and his mother called to confirm this and the staff member failed to contact her back and when the teacher showed up to teach the lesson he decided he was not going to refund the lesson. When I say stood them up 5 times I’m not saying he called them 20 minutes before and said hey I can’t make it. I’m talking about them driving 45 minutes away just to find out the guy isn’t even there and failed to tell anyone. Is this good customer service? Is this fair ? You charge people 30 dollars for a half an hour and you don’t even show up?
Music? I don’t think so. I really can’t describe it. They seem to make their money renting kids instruments for a fortune. They do offer lessons by local musicians and have a lot of sheet music. If you’re looking to buy an instrument, go to Accent Music farther west on Kirkwood. That’s a music store!
7. Accent Music Inc
Address: 5810-A, 5810 Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington, DE 19808 , Burutu , Delaware , United States
I love this place. I have been buying guitars from accent and accent only. the staff is knowledgable and very helpful with all questions regarding music and instrument appropriatness for kids. Long time customer, I wont go anywhere else.
Had a great amount of attention and help from two of the gentlemen (Ron and Roger) that were probably the most friendly and polite music staffers I’ve ever dealt with, and were also able to work out some good deals for me. Many thanks to these guys, will definitely be back!
Phenomenal store, excellent staff. Been there for over 10 years!
Nice instrument’s, specially warwick basses. Some good Boss pedals, one guy part of the staff not too nice though. They could do better receiving customers. Closing the doors of the music school on your face doesn’t seem like a charming or effective welcoming strategy.
Played several acoustic by Guild and Takamine. Enjoyed myself.
I’ve had good service at this store. The staff is polite, knowledgeable, and helpful.
never had a problem going to this store before but today when I went to rent an instrument, the guy I asked for help (manger I guess?) had this attitude of there’s no way you can get this. First when I asked him for the instrument he said they didn’t have it ,then he found it. Then when I showed him my car he said there was no way the instrument would fit in there just by looking at it. I had to ask can we at least try and when we did it fit. Lastly when It came time to pay he wouldn’t let me proceed b/c I didn’t have a credit card which is understandable and fine but the tone he used and the way he talked to me was really not called for. The whole process I just felt like he didn’t want to give this instrument to me, it was as if he was trying to find every excuse in the book to not let me have the instrument ugh! I guess I’m mostly bothered by the way that he talked to me and his unwillingness to try everything he could to try and allow me to rent the instrument. Towards the end it a little better, he said he would hold the instrument for me but I don’t know about going there again, it was just bad customer service. I work in a place I have to deal with customers all the time and I never talk to them the way he talked to, I didn’t deserve to feel like there was no way I was ever going to get that instrument and that’s the way he made me feel. I don’t think he meant to make me feel that way but that is indeed how I felt after my visit today.
They tend to charge list price, but will usually come down to comparable prices if you argue with them. They frequently don’t have what I’m looking for, but they get 2 stars for a total lack of other options in Delaware. Better off driving to the larger competitors in Cherry Hill, NJ.
Dropped off an instrument for repair. Told an estimated 2 weeks. Called after 1 month and could not even get an answer as to if the instrument had even been looked at! There was no one at the store that could even answer a question as the three staff members I spoke to stated they had no idea! Horrible customer service!
8. CKuz Guitars
Address: 49 W Main St, Middletown, DE 19709 , Burutu , Delaware , United States
My Gretch has never sounded better!!! Highly Recommend this shop!
Chuck’s workmanship is awesome! We send all of our guitar work from repairing cracks to set-ups. Great prices…He’s the best!
Contacted Chuck about a wiring issue with my Suhr electric guitar and he was able to inspect and fix the guitar on the same day while I waited. Very knowledgable, qualified and a great guy. Highly recommended.
9. Guitar Center
Address: 5141 Brandywine Pkwy, Wilmington, DE 19803 , Burutu , Delaware , United States
First visit to a Guitar Center and I like the variety of choices and price’s with buying used and trade options plus music lessons available also.
Nice place, slow service
Didnt have many supplies for musical instruments other than guitars.
exelente
Fell off since my last visit, no love when I came through the door. Was there for 45 mins maybe nobody said a word even people that came after me got a hello, you making out alright? I got nothing I was in the market for a guitar but I believe I will be taking my money somewhere else. I see why the store is empty customer service sucks
I planned to purchase a large amount of equipment today but after asking for service multiple times I ended up leaving. Bad service!!!
Not the same as it was back in the day. Lazy staff that whines about having to help or answer any questions… A real disappointment, especially when you are making a significant purchase. Guitars aren’t cheap!
10. Earle Teat Music
Address: 3098 N Dupont Hwy, Dover, DE 19901 , Burutu , Delaware , United States
Great selection of instruments. Reminds me of old school music stores…
Found this gem here at a pretty good price and in great condition for a used amp. He has some nice guitars for sale, and a few on a rotating sale.
You could tell from the stock and the building the business had longevity, and is bigger inside than appears from the outside. I didn’t venture past the electric guitars into to percussion or acoustic room, but my friend spent time in the acoustic room and came out smiling.
Overall it was a good experience and I may be back to get one of his guitars before I leave town.
I was looking for a sound system. Two staff advised me in selecting equipment.
Bought my Guild D-35 from Earl Tate back in 1980. Never forgot the shop, which was at 111 Loockerman St, or it’s owner… Amazing experience back then, he was really accommodating. Great memory, great guitar. Thanks…
I bought my sons trumpet here. No problem. Good deal, But the manager was restocking the guitar picks. The prices were from 25 cents to 75 cents. I heard the manager tell the employee to make them all one dollar. The employee hesitated and the manager said: Do it, Frig it theyll pay it. I never went back. I was very disappointed with their train of thought.
Local music stores are a dead concept. Prices are too high coupled with all sales final return policies and poorly maintained inventory. This store is always dead and completely empty whenever I have visited it. When ever I’ve gone into any music store Earl teat or B&B I just feel like they’ve missed the point. They’re so out of touch with the current market it’s like why bother to even exists. These stores must make their money off renting out instruments to middle school children because for musicians these stores don’t offer anything. They’re out of loop with what’s hot and what people want to buy so there’s no reason to shop here. Both Earl teat and B&B say they can order you stuff and it take a week or so to get but why? I can get what I want 1 or 2 day with Amazon Prime or just drive up to Guitar Center in Wilmington and get it the same day. These stores need to rethink themselves and get into the century.
Not satisfied at all they had my bass for a whole month to replace two pickups
11. Earle Teat Music Delmar
Address: 38650 Sussex Hwy #5, Delmar, DE 19940 , Burutu , Delaware , United States
Great place owner fantastic staff knowledgeable and helpful great equipment
Nice little music store.
Great local shop with great customer service!
I have musician friends and family who swear by Earle Teat’s place. Even a small request is welcome, and if they don’t have an item, they can tell you where you can get it. Friendly to non-music people who are still learning, like me.
Knowledgeable, friendly service, decent prices, good selection.
Unless your a guitarist they wont have much for you. Great selection of guitars though
Horrible horrible place to sell used instruments called ahead asked if they would want to take a look at my violin the man that answered said yes and to bring it in he would look at it. I walked in there and he didn’t even say 5 words to me nor did he look at my violin and told me I should take it to a pawn shop. Horrible customer service very disappointed.
12. Concord Music Company
Address: 2805 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803 , Burutu , Delaware , United States
A couple of years ago I purchased a Yamaha Tyros 5 from Keyboard America; an informative, easy, pleasantly engaging and cost effective transaction. Mike Mixon was so passionate in providing me with the guidance I needed to determine which keyboard I/we felt best for my then current and future keyboard needs. His recommended options, which ultimately led to the purchase of the Tyros 5, couldn’t have been a better one. Mike is extremely patient, knowledgeable and available even after delivery of the instrument; don’t get that kind of service much these days. Mike’s wife Kathy made the final purchase process simple and efficient. I could tell very early in my relationship with Keyboard America that Mike and Kathy truly enjoy assisting their customers and their business of providing instruments on which great music can be made. By-the-way. Mike’s on-line tutorials are amazing!
Not having a softcover for the keyboard, I recently called Keyboard America and spoke with Kathy. She indicated the store did not have a softcover for this keyboard and immediately went online to search for a place where I could purchase one. After her search, Kathy provided me a link and bingo I now have a softcover for the keyboard. It was a delightful customer experience. Kathy truly exemplified excellent customer service. Thanks Kathy and Mike!
Keyboard America is a great gift to the music world. Mike Mixon is the
only teacher in the this country that sells a superior product and continues to support the buyer with lessons and help for the rest of the life of the instrument. Mike knows how to “Keep The Music Playing”
My experience with KeyboardAmerica has been positive from start to finish. Mike helped me setup my Tyros 5 over the telephone (we live on opposite coasts). Mike has tons of instructional videos and reviews on youtube. He also has free online lessons after the sale. I am unaware of any other store that provides the level of after sale support that Mike does. Don’t take my word for it, just check him out on youtube and you can see for yourself the level of support and training Mike provides.
Since no one in our state stocks arranger keyboards anymore, or can even answer simple questions about them, I called Keyboard America. Mike answered my questions – I was not sure I believed him on all the answers compared to my Clavinova, but after I got my own, his answers turned out to be 100% correct. The Genos I first received had a defect that could not be detected by simply upgrading the software. I called Mike and after some quick diagnostics had Yamaha speak to me directly. To make a long story short, Yamaha said it was manufacturing defect and authorized Mike to replace it within a couple of weeks. The replacement Genos has performed flawlessly and met all my expectations! I originally had trepidations about not being able speak face to face about my purchasing questions and service after the sale if there was a problem. But Mike and Kathy at Keyboard America took the time to answer my questions and get me solutions when needed. I, for one, am glad they there and would have no qualms returning to them should I get the urge for another instrument in the future.
They were closed so I didn’t go in but they are a good one stop shop for any piano needs, books, tuning, and teacher recommendations
Don’t let the outside deter you. They have a very good selection of digital pianos, and great costumer service. And if no one is there, call the number on the door
Mike is a absurd asshat he was rude to my wife more than once. We waited 3 days for a estimate every day we called it was he had some thousands of dollar delivery. I told them to forget our estimate and shove his up his ass.
New to area. Called regarding piano lessons and sales person was very condescending . I’ll take my business elsewhere.
I wasn’t going to post anything, but since I saw some similar reviews, I figured I’d share. I was looking for a keyboard and a guy who I assumed was the owner showed me what I going to buy. When I asked some questions and looked at some other keyboards he “huffed” at me and walked away. I guess that was all the service I was gong to get. It’s hard to give someone your business after that. I ordered what I wanted online the next day. It’s too bad, but I get the impression that they are doing well enough that they don’t need to bother with difficult customers like me.
14. B&B Music
Address: 17903 15L-9, Lewes, DE 19958 , Burutu , Delaware , United States
The people who work there are knowledgeable and super friendly!
When I need help they help me pick which one is better!!
Dave and Tim and everyone else are super knowledgeable and always helpful. Highest recommendations, the guys at this store rock!
Great staff, know a lot and are helpful. Huge selection of instruments, especially guitar. I took lessons here and the lesson rooms were too cramped. They have more than a dozen rooms and whenever I would go only 3-4 would be in use. They should connect some of them to make lesson-taking more comfortable. As is, it is certainly doable though. I, however, just started taking lessons at my teacher’s house.
I have purchased my Tenor Sax, 2 guitar amps, my combo pedal and 7 of my 8 guitars from B&B. I have worked with every salesman there and they are all helpful and mostly knowledgeable.
The inventory is a bit lacking, but it is a local music shop so that’s to be expected. You will not find many other brands other than Ibanez, Fender, LTD, PRS and Taylor here for guitars. Bass selection is mostly Fender jazz and Ibanez series.
Biggest reason I only gave 3 stars is due to their luthier service. Took my Ibanez AW custom in (purchased from them 8 years ago) to have it serviced. I had some minor buzzing happening due to some neck warping. Was charged $90 only to have it buzz more. I had been told that they were not great at this type of thing and it turns out to be true.
If you need servicing on your instruments, you’re better off looking for a local person that has more experience and time to work on it for you.
Who in their right mind closes at 6 PM on a Saturday?!? Most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard. I would love to come in and give them my money, but literally every time I make the 20 minute drive it’s closed. That’s not how a good business works. You just don’t close at the height of the busiest hours on the busiest day of the week!!! That makes absolutely no sense!! That being said it seems like they have a very good inventory, i just wish I could come in the door and check it all out, but alas the ridiculous hours make that completely impossible. Thank you for nothing so far B & B.
Sincerely,
A seriously disappointed musician
The staff was extremely helpful and nice but my only complaint is that the Strat I bought there turned out to be a knock of from China. The bridge and tuners are not made by fender and the neck warped within a few months.
