Very professional and overall great experience recording with Nyse Productions
Very easy to work with.
Been coming to record with Steve Nyse for a couple years now and he really loves what he does and puts in countless amount of hrs to get projects done. If you are an artist that wants to make songs that you are going to be proud of then come to this studio! He is great
3. The Zombie Guitar Company
Address: 107 N 16th St suite b, Herrin, IL 62948 , Carterville , Illinois , United States
This place is great. Tracy was very helpful and they had everything I needed. Five stars for Zombie Guitars.
Sandy and I had very positive experience there! Tracy and staff fantastic
Bought an amazing Gretsch Streamliner from these cats. Tracy literally walked me through most of his inventory to find out what suited me best. Great store, great staff, great selection of gear and services.
I was about to purchase a “outa sight white” danelectro ‘59m NOS+ on their reverb that was “open to offers” listed at $479.99. After I made my offer the owner changed the price to $529.99 and told me “so it’s still a good deal”. I showed proof that the guitar was listed on Sweetwater for $479.99. The owner then responded with a different guitar(aged white) listed at $529.99 and could not tell the difference… Overall I felt it was unprofessional to change the price on their reverb right after I put in my offer(my final offer was $465) while the guitar was still listed at $479.99, especially on a guitar that has been open and on display.
4. Redbox
Address: 314 Plaza Dr, Carterville, IL 62918 , Carterville , Illinois , United States
Order was correct, place was clean, nobody spit in my food (that I know of). 5 stars.
Great place for a burger
Good service.
Long long line for 2 windows but good food!
Clean, cool seating.
I like plain cheeseburgers get 2 every time I go I have gotten a lot with unwanted ketchup I know most people get there cheeseburgers with ketchup and that’s probably why I like the employees but I mainly order from the drive through
Burger had grease dripping so bad my bun was soaked. Fries weren’t done and my sweet tea was sour and they had to ask me what I ordered 2 times….ridiculous
Very slow Service and food was nasty and messed up my order.
Ordered 2 DOUBLE CHEESEBURGERS(that means two slices of cheese) and instead was givin 2 mcdoubles. As a customer we shouldn’t have to worry about checking our food for mistakes but with mcdonalds its a given. It also doesnt help that the staff is lazy. No one wants to work their job, we get it, but that goes with everyone and you shouldn’t take it out on the customers. Terrible CSR’s in general but that is what runs the mcdonalds Corp.
7. Mike’s Music
Address: 816 E Main St A, Carbondale, IL 62901 , Carterville , Illinois , United States
I absolutely love this place!! They set up my lefty Fender Telecaster and nailed it Great service and very nice people…also gave me a great deal on a hardshell case! Amazing prices, I’ll see you guys very soon.
Everyone is very nice and knowledgeable. The store is organized clean and and a great selection. Keith set up my acoustic perfect it plays like a dream now…
It’s my go to music store..
Thanks again…
Always a great experience! Top class customer service.
Really nice people, just very overpriced
Very friendly and helpful. Nice to still have a brick and mortar music store in the area.
Had everything we needed.
They sold me a violin for 2,000 and when I had it appraised the specialist said they cost $100 for a set of three. I will never do business with them again and I urge anyone to go elsewhere
9. Baldwin Piano & Organ Center
Address: 200 N Park Ave, Herrin, IL 62948 , Carterville , Illinois , United States
Been taking guitar instruction here for over two years. Chad and Mike are great, and I recommend The Practice Pad for anyone seeking musical instruction.
Pure artistry. We teach children here, too.
the best place to buy from someone someone who has a brain…….
11. Shivelbine’s Band Room
Address: 901 N Carbon St Ste 7, Marion, IL 62959 , Carterville , Illinois , United States
The people put 100% effort into getting you what you need. Even if that means they miss a sale. Because of that ive done all my business with them.
Always friendly and helpful in finding what you need.
Went to get an instrument for my son and the lady was very helpful thank you
Very helpful staff
The girls who waited on me couldn’t have been more cordial and helpful. I wish they had a broader assortment of the classic oldies sheet music I was looking for. But there is always the internet. Perhaps my age has caught up with me. LOL.
12. Dairy Queen
Address: 104 Plaza Dr, Carterville, IL 62918 , Carterville , Illinois , United States
Old fashioned dq, known for their fresh dbl cheeses.
Foos is good and fast in drive thru
They was having cashiers shift change and no one was wanting to take my order till one of them finally gave in and took my order….this was on grill side
Same as others
Food service was fast, I went through drive through. I got an Oreo cupfection (ate it before I got home 10/10) and an 8 pc chicken strip box. Food was nice but the chicken was kindve hard :/ overall a great place to get sweets or food though
Drive thru order taker was rude. NO greet upon window approch. My onion rings were smashed.
No eating inside, no ordering inside. NO BATHROOMS AVAILABLE!!!
Features: Forget this place no inside seating!!!
Meh.. appears another business using covid as a reason to close whenever they want. When I checked to see what time they were open it shows 11 on Friday and Saturday. Showed up just a couple minutes after 10 and they were closed and wouldn’t serve us. When I questioned the reason for closing before they are supposed to was advised because of Covid and they never went back to normal hours. Your profile on google was just updated by the business a week ago so something isn’t right.
13. Rosebud Antique Mall
Address: 4451 Herrin Rd, Carterville, IL 62918 , Carterville , Illinois , United States
Very nice people I was stranded a year ago today and they gave me a free water
Love the items they offer. I highly recommend you visit.
Great selection of all kinds of antiques and vintage! Wonderful people working there, very helpful. And bonus – they sell the best 14 day pickles, jams, apple butters and other jarred produce!
Continues to get better in quality of merchandise. Prices seem fair, good variety. Friendly and helpful. I enjoy each visit.
My wife and I enjoy popping in here from time to time. Friendly staff, great selection of antiques and unique finds. Have an hour to kill? This lil gem is worth your time!!
Loads of items well worth the stop for antiques
The owners are truly low people. They purchased some of my grandmother’s hand made quilts through an estate auction. I didn’t realize they were being sold. I was able to get two of them back through the auction. They purchased the rest of them. I was able to meet them at the pick up and I approached them about buying the quilts back from them and explained the situation. I offered to pay them what they had in them. I did not expect to get them for free. They had money in them and I wanted to make them right. Nope. They charged me double what they had in them. Some people are truly disgusting and will make a profit at any cost. They took advantage of the situation.
Been in here 2xs, too expensive and some of the items have been there since the last time I went- a year or more ago! If it’s broke or missing something, it isnt’ worth a huge price!!
If they want to give you $0.05 on the dollar
14. Walker’s Bluff
Address: 326 Vermont Rd, Carterville, IL 62918 , Carterville , Illinois , United States
Wonerful, relaxing and a beautiful place to explore. Plenty to do. The food was perfect.
I had the 14 ox Ribeye with sweet potato fries salad and I sweet tea. Absolutely perfect everything. Staff, cooks, servers , managers, and even the dishwasher were all so nice. I wish people would stop giving walkers bluff a hard time. They were excellent
A little expensive but very cozy. Soup, sandwiches, fountain drinks, wine by the bottle. Also misc. trinkets and gifts available for purchase. Very nice. Also gasoline available for purchase but price is usually higher than your average quick stop.
GREAT FOOD & Atmosphere
Love that there are things to do, great surroundings, classy. Plan on being a regular here. However, the gazeebo needs some form of air conditioning in the summer (if for no one else but the poor employees) and the location makes it hard/hazardous to get to.
The food was good and brought out in a timely manner. We went for brunch and felt the menu was a bit lacking. If you have children under the age of 12 don’t bother going. There is not a children’s menu.
Food left something to be desired. I got the lasagna and the serving was about half the size of the other order at the table. Service was okay, people were a bit snotty saying since we didn’t have reservations we may not be seated. Much to our surprise we walked into a completely empty dining room. I did enjoy the tasting room quite a lot though, good selection of beers with good prices. Will return there just not to legends.
Last night we ate dinner at Legends. While the venue is very nice, that’s the only part of our meal that we enjoyed. The service was mediocre. She was a novice server and just didn’t have the experience to work in an upscale restaurant. We had to ask for drink refills, silverware, and salt. As for our meal, my husband’s steak and my breast of duck were very tasty and cooked as requested. The potato sides left lots to be desired. Baked potato was a leftover from previous days and wasn’t warm enough to melt butter. The roasted red potatoes were, again, leftover potatoes. While COVID-19 closings and limitations certainly make it difficult for restaurants these days, we had higher expectations for a meal that cost more than $100. We will try again in 6 months and see if things improve.
Was a regular when this place opened. I have watched over the years as it has spiraled into a place that can’t even make cheese fries. It’s scientifically mystifying, how someone can mess up cheese and potatoes. Twice. The changes they’ve made for their wine turned them from one of the best wineries in SI, to the absolute worst.
15. Walmart
Address: 1713 S Park Ave, Herrin, IL 62948 , Carterville , Illinois , United States
I liked this wal mart had some things other walmarts did not have.
The employees are super nice
Rude associates, didn’t have what I was looking for. Not very clean.
Good price but heavy on made in China
Used to be a good place to shop. Pharmacy personnel are friendly, but the front end personnel especially customer service needs to be retrained. Very abrupt and rude when answering questions. I will only get my meds there from now on unless pharmacy personnels’ attitude changes for the worse.
Learn to order and stock your shelves
16. Southern Estate Antiques
Address: 901 Camarato Dr, Herrin, IL 62948 , Carterville , Illinois , United States
Great selection, very well kept, very nice merchandise. definitely collector worthy
Very well displayed antiques and vintage items from a variety of eras and locations. Well lit, well thought out displays. Reasonable regular pricing throughout the store. Friendly, professional and informative staff. Plenty fo parking.
1st time and will shop there again.
Great place, lots of interesting things. Can dickher…i mean dicker.
Found some nice pieces we were looking for
Posts stuff for sale. Never responds. I was a serious buyer for a high $ item and no one responds. Taking my buisness elsewhere
Was not as organized as it should have been.
Everything posted said numbers would be handed out a 6 am
I was there at 515. Waited till 555 to get number when people started getting in line. I was 6th place I’m line. My number was 28.
They gave out 22 numbers ahead of time and people didn’t wait like we had to.
Inside it was totally crazy
Way too many people inside couldn’t move around.
Will not go to southern estate sales again if this is how they do business.
Vary disappointed.
17. Tasting Room at Walker’s Bluff
Address: 14250 Meridian Rd, Carterville, IL 62918 , Carterville , Illinois , United States
Service was outstanding. 1st person we encountered changed stools around for us & never was bothered when others asked for the same. Our waiter was so helpful explaining the wine wine choices & the appetizers.
I had no idea that Southern Illinois had such a beautiful place. Thanks to Facebook events I was able to celebrate New Years Eve at Walkers Bluff. It reminded me so much home in Atlanta. I will highly recommend Walkers Bluff and their awesome team.
Nice day, dog friendly, and a charcuterie board. 🙂 What more could you ask…
This is more than a tasting room–it’s a bar that sells a lot of food. I had the salmon, my friend had a steak, and we shared spinach and artichoke dip. He had two cocktails and I had one. Total was a little over $100 before tip. This is part of the Walker’s Bluff resort but is NOT at the casino.
First date night in over a year, and we picked Walker’s. Creole Burger in the picture. Said it came with onion and tomato, which it didn’t arrive that way. Pretty disappointed, but it was super tasty as it was. Would 100% recommend and would get again. Also shared in the Saratoga Chips, which were also very good but could have used something sweet to offset its sharp flavors, or a balsamic drizzle maybe. Gotta admit, it was a lot of blue cheese to consume between the chips and the burger.
Beautiful facility. Went for lunch very short staffed.
I did not have a so nice experience for the first time visiting.
Food was worse than terrible.
This is a great venue, but the wine was a little bland, the food was ok, but the clientele looked too casual for such a place.
