Bruce always does a fantastic job when working on my guitar’s. I brought in over a dozen guitars to have set- ups string and nut replacements. Bruce can make any guitar sound great!
This place is awesome! Definitely will be back
Bruce Brindley just completed a setup for me on my Fender Custom Shop P-Bass. I have known many musicians in my life; any professional musician would be thrilled to have this setup on their bass. Brindley’s attention to detail is exemplary. The store is immaculate. These folks obviously care tremendously about their customers and their craft. Highly recommended.
Fix it for the most part. Still feels as if the instrument is leaking from somewhere on the lower register. Still hard to push low notes without struggle.
They are wonderful people and always take care of their customer by heart.
It was very awesome service but milanos was cheaper books were 8.00 and care kits were10.00 and at brindleys it was almost 16.00 and for book it was 10
My son wanted to buy from a local shop. He spent $400 of his own money on a used guitar, new amp and cord. The cord tip broke off in the amp input 3 weeks after purchase ruining the cord and amp. My son attempted to get a replacement with his receipt in hand and was told he would need to pay for the repair of the amp. When I called and spoke to the owner Bruce I encountered an arrogant and condescending man with little to no concern for the customer. Instead he proceeded to blame my son for the faulty cord and infer that the damage was caused by something he did. Mind you he has played on entry level equipment for years and never had a single issue. We also had an independent professional agree that the cord was faulty and caused the damage to the amp input. Regardless Bruce repeatedly told me something was fishy, that 2 plus 2 told him something else happened, that he had been in business for 43 years and I didn’t know anything and took the Lords name in vain time after time during our conversation. When I told him it was unfortunate that he wouldn’t correct the issue he told me I would be blackmailing him if a bad review was left. Sorry Bruce but their were no threats made, only a customer wanting others not to have their hard earned money thrown away. Be a professional. Based on some of the other reviews I have looked at it appears we are not the first, second or even third customers treated this way. When he continued to argue and obsess that he would dispute a review and it was apparent nothing else mattered I hung up. No amount of logic would change this mans mind. Fortunately we know the truth and he can convince himself otherwise all he wants. Their are plenty of local shops lile Milanos and corporate shops like Guitar Center who appreciate the business and know the value of a loyal customer!
Expensive and poor service. took my beautiful holton Bb trumpet their to have the 2nd valve slide replaced. it is a standard mass produced turmpet, ans WAS worth about $650. it was beautiful with a sparkeling finish. they lost my order and it took 3 weeks when I called them to inquire about it. i was told $40 to fix the slide (found out later that part only cost $15) and it would take a week. they chem washed it, wich i said to not do and it RUINED my trumpet. it looks like crap, their is 3 dents in my bell where their weren’t any before and after i called at the 3 week point it still took another 2 for them to get around to fixing it. in the end, they ruined my finish, put the wroung part on, and dented my trumpet multiple times. O AND they expected me to pay $85 for it all. they chem washed it because they forgot to write down the repair needed and assumed it was a was, and they charged me for their mistake. Good at smooth talking but anyone can seem like they know what their saying. they were horrabile and unless you want to over pay and have your instrument ruined, dont go here. o and my sisted paid $1000 for a flute which was “new”…the saudering from when it was returned to them from the last owner broke in about a week and they repaired it wroung 3 times before they got it right where it broke again 3 days later.
I went here to have a new nut out on an old guitar of mine. The nut is cut too short making the strings buzz. Now I am left fixing it myself which sucks since I paid almost $60 to have it fixed.
Very nice family-owned music store. In the days of big box retailers dominating the market, it is refreshing to have a local option like this to support. Stopped in there this weekend and was pleasantly surprised. The store is well organized and laid out well. Staff was friendly and helpful without being pushy. The owner even spent a fair amount of time talking with us. I will be back for sure.
I was so relieved when we went to rent an instrument here. Prices were more reasonable than other places. Customer service was above and beyond! They really do care about pleasing everyone in there. They were so busy but they still took the time to greet and acknowledge everyone who came in and still had patience with the customer they were helping. Coming here for everything from now on!
Great Service. Wonderful people. Fixed up some issues with my guitar and got it working better than ever
Definitely what I look for in a record store. Tons of selection, local feel and nice people. Will be returning.
I love Zia! There’s a little bit of everything. The staff is always very helpful at all locations.
I love this place. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the prices are great!!
TONS of records. This Zia is the best for records. Cheap band t shirts also. Amps for guitars, bass and PAs. Grab some pops figures, a record player and a couple of DVDs for your collection.
Fun place! Nice workers
Has almost everything you looking for from old to new
Absolutely piss poor service. The girl that was taking my trades so gross with her hickies on her neck. None one the employees there didn’t seem to care about anything . Would have been nice to have service from someone born before 2000 that can appreciate the items value and not for how trendy they are. I will never conduct business with Zia again.
Employees pretend to care, imo. Also I went to trade in a PlayStation and because it was missing one wire they offered me $2. BS.
Hot as hell..no air
6. Cello Strings
Address: 5561 W Megan St, Chandler, AZ 85226 , Chandler , Arizona , United States
String Emporium always ships me my custom viola strings in a timely manner and at a better price than buying them separately. I always buy strings from this small business!
Staffs are nice and support. Also easy to take online lessons when you need. Many shops that very convenient for shopping too.
Honest sales guys told me the truth about what to rent or buy. Refreshing as the school wasn’t
Wonderful visit. My kind of music store…great atmosphere…I felt at home. After playing a couple acoustic guitars, I bought one. It was the easiest and most comfortable purchase ever.
I stopped by to look at a saxophone case that I’d called upon earlier in the day. They had set it aside for me to look at and were very helpful. Great price on the case, so I purchased. Only knock is they are a chain store, not a local business.
They keep trying to charge me every month for a guitar I never received. I filed multiple disputes with my credit card and won. Still they keep trying to charge me. Their customer service is unreachable yet they keep sending notices, asking me to pay for something they didn’t deliver. Fraudulent business. I’m leaving this review with the hope that someone would reach out from customer service or management.
We returned an instrument in April 2020. In person was told face to face our contract was over paid in full once we paid final payment there in store which we did. Haven’t heard from them in over 3 years. No address or number change. Today I received a call requesting a payment. I told them it is a mistake just to be told no and I need to pay it. If I have a problem I can go to the store. Why so I can pay the “final payment” again to be told to my face again that everything is zeroed and no payments are due and every three years have to pay the final payment until I die? What the heck sort of business is this. I would not go through this company again for my children’s rentals. So weird.
Rude staff. Offensive and completely out of line.
I will never give them any more of my money.
PLEASE shop elsewhere. Literally anywhere else. Don’t give this place anything.
Milano’s has a branch 1/2 mile down the street or their main in downtown Mesa, The Music Store is in Mesa, Brindley’s is in downtown Chandler. These others are leaps and bounds better in price and service.
In February/March we signed up our younger son for piano lessons at EVSM and I have to say my wife and I were quite skeptic. He wasn’t to enthusiastic about it. Well, I don’t know what Mr. M. Parker did to our son, but already after the trial lesson he came out with a big smile and said that we have to get books so he can start practicing.
Just past Sunday he had his first recital, that he played perfectly and he got charged up even more.
Over all we are very happy to have place in our neighborhood that offers lessons for different musical instruments.
My son has been learning Piano about 2 years. The experience with EVMS is fantastic.
His first piano teacher is Kathy. She is a very kind and experiences teacher know how to teach little kids. Because of her, my son really enjoyed learning piano and music. Within a year, he graduated from little pianist program which normally takes about 1.5 years.
After that, he fortunately has EVMS’s owners – Mike and Tabltha to be his teachers. I can tell he makes a little progress every single day about his piano skill and more understanding about music. He passed ASP study level 2A with superior honor in April 2019.
One suggest I would like to make is that piano is easy musical instrument to start with, but it will be very difficult to graduate. Once a week class is not going to solve all students’ questions. Practice, practice, and practice is the key to succeed. The most important is that let us enjoy music itself and having fun!
Very Good to learn music
Went to recitation function! Amazing!!!
Overall we really liked this place. The issue for us is that it’s $310 per month (plus registration) for two kids to have ONE lesson a week. That comes out to $38 per child per 30 minutes. This seemed like a lot, then I realized that they also close 4 weeks per year with no proration on top of that… And if an instructor needs to miss a class and they just got try to “reschedule” on an additional day during the week – Which is problematic when you have multiple children in multiple extracurricular activities.
I rent their recital hall for the piano recital. The place and stage were small and they made the entrance door inconveniently. ( the door is right off the stage). The most important thing is that piano was a bad condition.
No. From personal experience, look elsewhere. My son and daughter started here and we pulled them. Michael was condescending and rude to the point I stopped the lesson more than once. After removing my children from East Valley School of Music and finding a private instructor my kids excelled.
Pass on this company, we were with them when they were working out of there home, it went south when they opened their site in Chandler. Don’t do it, again look elsewhere.
The owner is rude and a horrible person.

What a great new spot! Best selection I’ve come across in the Valley! Owners are awesome and very knowledgeable. Saw a young kid buying his first Dark Side of the Moon record. Pure magic.
Friendly, Profesional service.
Welcome addition to the Phoenix record scene! Friendly owners, fast growing selection of merch and willing to go the extra mile for customers. Just a sample of the great box set haul I found there –
Nice selection for a new store. David was very helpful in weeding through the stacks to find exactly what I was looking for. I will definitely stop in again……and again……..and again.

Sucked went into research powered Mains for my band and nobody talk to me wandering around the store for 15 minutes not 1 sales associate approached me waste of my time
No help. no questions..no real purchase…
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE !!! Deserves ZERO STARS!!
Nothing is done about improving their employers or customer service !
14. Arizona Music Academy
Address: 2100 S Gilbert Rd Ste. 20, Chandler, AZ 85286 , Chandler , Arizona , United States
The one-year old music class is a lot of fun. Our daughter’s teacher is very engaging and the children fun dancing to, playing along with, and learning to sing songs.
My daughter took lessons here and she had an amazing experience! We love the teachers and the office staff is super friendly as well! We can’t wait to be able to start taking lessons again!!
My 5 year old has gone here for over a year and she loves it. The staff is very friendly and they do everything they can to help us with our hectic schedule.
I wanted to rent an instrument for my children for school. They are a Milano Music Center Depot so I could rent my instrument from them. On Milano musics website it directs me to the Arizona Music Academy and states that their hours are on Sunday from 12 to 6. When I called to confirm that they were open nobody answered and a voicemail stated that I could go to their website for additional hours. Nowhere on their website does it show their hours. I decided to drive down to check it out and nowhere on any of their Windows does it have any hours of this company. Very disappointing.
We signed up for the music class for 1yr Olds. The class is essentially singing along with songs on the cd player and playing with a ball and a music shaker. Additionally, other than the instructor’s child, my child is the only one in the class. It’s not worth the money I paid. I expected for her to have more exposure to different types of play instruments. This class was not at all what I was hoping for don’t waste your time and money.
I initially paid for a lesson and the instructor told me it was supposed to be a free trial lesson- strike one. She shook my hand with two fingers and tried to make me buy items off of her. Attempted to switch instructors and by fate, realize that I couldn’t deal with the scrutiny. Guitar center is cheaper, guateented trial lesson, and a much more friendly respectable staff. Good luck to this school’s growth but I wouldn’t consider this as a top choice for anyone.

Such an amazing collection! And very knowledgable! We will be back for sure! Great customer service!
Excellent selection of punk records!
dopest place ever and they have a cat
Amazing record store, owning is very knowledgeable in his history of the area and records. Store has had some amazing famous celebrity come through. Store has an amazing variety of selections, you feel an amazing relaxing vibe when you walk inside. They also play some really good selection of songs while I was looking around
While I enjoy the traditional record store his prices are high. I’ve found items he sells 30 % cheaper on Amazon and Ebay He has no overhead. I’ll be looking for other places for purchase of music
Good selection of records. has a local feel
For having little to no overhead I feel this place is over priced.
Cool pops but mostly overrrrrr priced and the owner isn’t the nicest prepared to get yelled at when you come in
Bought a Record Player Did Not Work Brought it Back Had Questions On Why Didn’t Work So I “”Record~mend”” to Inspect Things Thoroughly Before Purchasing Very Miserable The My Service
17. East Valley Yamaha Music School
Address: 3160 N Arizona Ave Ste 102, Chandler, AZ 85225 , Chandler , Arizona , United States
We’ve really enjoyed seeing our daughter grow her musical skill and knowledge while attending weekly classes at Yamaha. The combination of keyboard skills, ear training, and music theory is perfect for her age, and she really loves her teacher. Highly recommended!
I am actually disappointed by some of the negative reviews here with no truth to their claims. EVYMS is fantastic place for kids to learn music. Ms Heidi is awesome and so are other teachers. They have extensive background in music and lot of experience. Their students have represented at international level and many have gone to pursue music at Julliard.
My daughter has been going there for over a year. Parents need to understand that if you are serious about learning piano, it is a commitment for both student well as parent. This is not a place for kids to play but learn and make piano part of their life. Every kids gets individual attention even in a class of 10-12 kids. Each kid has a piano in each class.
The pace of course is appropriate for everyone to learn. If it is too fast, kids will not learn and get frustrated. They should be able to enjoy music.
Anyways, EVYMS is one of the best if not the best piano school in Arizona and I am proud to send my daughter there now and hopefully for next many years to come.
Excellent music school! Couldn’t be happier with all my kids have learned and what they can do as musicians.
I am giving one because I have. I would give zero. Just make sure you know you have a 6 months contract. If you for any reason can not attend the classroom any more, they will offer you to start a new class, if your schedule can not attend them schedule, they will ask you to attend a new class and do all the 3 months you already did again as it is the online time they have that you can attend. If they say the contract will not hold you, don’t trust. They said that in the Open house and when I told them I could not attend any more, they sent me by email a message saying “don’t forget you have a 6 month contract”. I will pay for 3 months with out attend class until my contract is done. I gave them 3 months notice just to make sure they will not charge one more day after 6 months contract. Very stressful and sad! My son is 5 years old and need some adult to attend class with him. I am the only one able to do that. I am still paying monthly and nobody contacted me.
My son has been learning Yamaha for 2 years now. Here is my feedback about school.
POSITIVES : – Class duration of 1 hour if used wisely is just right for most of the kids. Liked the concept of ear training that is emphasized at Yamaha.
NEGATIVES:-
1. Allocated time is not used wisely- Actual teaching in 1 hour class may be 5-10 mins. The teaching progresses at extremely slow pace. Many kids are capable of learning much more which is not taken into consideration. New material is not taught in every class which is not challenging for a student who has learnt previous teaching.
2. Rude teachers – They have fake faces most of the time but they do not hesitate to insult parents infront of other children or other parents. They think their time is more important than parents time. Teachers are not available to talk 99% of time. They are not flexible to offer alternatives as per parents schedule.
3. Class size is too big- 10-12 kids per class is a lot for one teacher to handle and to make sure they are learning. Kids are at different level of age, maturity and have different capabilities which reduces effectiveness of learning for good learners. If class size goes down then classes are combined which hinders the pace and impacts existing kids.
4. Charity at parents expense? Yamaha is creating charity during Christmas time by taking money from parents- do not agree to that. It cannot be made compulsory. Too much class time is spent playing over same songs again and again. Too much repetition takes away interest. Spring recital is mandatory for all and costs a fortune for the parents.
Does not feel good use of our money anyway when you can get private tutor for the cost you pay at Yamaha for group lessons.
18. TR Guitar, Banjo, Mandolin & Ukulele Lessons: Bonnie C.
TR Music and Voice Lessons is a wonderful school that offers top-notch voice training! Mrs. Wright has been instrumental in helping our son Daniel enhance his vocal range.
There is a smooth path from the street to the buildings, but one of the buildings has all the problems of a Victorian house. It is only accessible via stairs, there are more stairs inside, narrow halls, many turns to negotiate, and tiny bathrooms reachable by stair. There are some other areas that are flat and roomy, with flat entrances.
Bonnie C. is a great guy to deal with. I have dealt with him in the sale of guitars and he is a man of his word. He gives you exactly what he tells you he is going to give you for a musical instrument. No games. I have sold to him two different times and each time was a good experience.
19. Amperfan Kpop Shop
Address: 2330 N Alma School Rd Ste 120, Chandler, AZ 85224 , Chandler , Arizona , United States
Everyone was really friendly, loved the atmosphere! I am definitely going to the next one!
Had a great time here exploring the wide selection of albums and photocards. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and made the trip even better! I’d highly recommend shopping here!
very fun shop!!
Unique and fun environment. This place sells used and new KPOP albums. They also sell other items such as key chains and trading cards. They do not sell KPOP themed clothes, which was kind of disappointing. Overall, neat sore dedicated just to KPOP groups.
love this shop, have bought so much merch from them, but the hours are kind of inconsistent. i feel like the days they’re closed change a lot. i could be wrong but i’ve come on days where i’m certain they’re open, according to maps as well, and then i show up and the store is closed
I went in looking for a specific lightstick and they told me they had just received shipment. I asked when it would be available for purchase and they told me it would be later in the week. The next morning I checked their instagram before the store had opened that day so I could try purchasing it that day but they had sold out. I was told they wouldn’t even be in stock until later in the week but they sold out that very day.
Edit: this occurred a few months ago, the specific lightstick i asked for had just been received and sold out that very day online. nobody in store told me they would be sold online. i was told they’d only be available later in the week. yes this was at amperfan. no i dont have the wrong store
