Found this place by accident but glad I did. Everyone was super helpful and knew what they were talking about. Great environment, excellent staff.
Such a pleasant experience with these guys over the years renting instruments for the kids. We had built up so much credit with them we were able to buy a brand new instrument for my daughter with our credits
Place is great. I go there when ever I need something for my instruments.
Was recommended this store by my music teacher. Great store that sells anything you can think of music related. Music & Arts had one employee the day I went in to get a practice book for saxophone, and they were most helpful. Very friendly, and helped me find exactly what I needed. It may not have the same inventory as some of the bigger music stores in the area, but I would definitely recommend Music & Arts if you need something music related.
12:28 pm, Sunday. The teachers and students are waiting for the shop to open.
Do they have cellos?
Please come when you want to lose money with auto-charge. they cancel my son’s drum class and cancel the account without lesson credit back. Very bad experience about auto-charge. And very bad experience on Customer service.
3. The Fret House Inc
Address: 309 N Citrus Ave, Covina, CA 91723 , Charter Oak , California , United States
Fret House has the best guitar techs and best customer service. Don’t waste your time or money going to Guitar Center – if you need your guitar repaired or setup, bring it to Fret House. They’ll perform the job according to your request. They’ll call you once the job is complete and answer any questions/concerns you may have.
I’m not a guitarist, but am a neighborhood music fan. I popped my head in, to ask when Open Mic Nights might start up again. Post-Covid, they first need to be relicensed for concerts, and the guess was “maybe in the Fall.” I look forward to being able to attend these again.
Im lefty handed
very bad services! not honest
Dropped off guitar on 11/3 – estimated day of completion 11/6. So it’s been roughly three weeks since I dropped off my acoustic guitar for what they said would be a simple 1″ crack repair, that the majority of the repair would be from the inside and that the top would not need any work.
“We’re working on your guitar in between other guitar repairs, but we’re not going to charge you”. WTF man! What kind of business are they running?
Went to pick up my guitar last week. Sure enough, they jacked up my guitar in the process of trying to repair it. This sucks!! Why couldnt they have been honest from the beginning. They have offered to replace it with a same model and I accepted the offer.
Early December – waiting on guitar. The manager claims it wil take up to 8 weeks for Godin/S&P to ship one from Canada. 8 weeks?
January – I have yet to receive a call with an update on the ETA of my replacement.
February – Still no call back from the manager. This is complete BS. DO NOT TRUST!
Misposted hours of operation – it’s very disappointing
4. Pianizimo
Address: 21042 E Arrow Hwy #135, Covina, CA 91724 , Charter Oak , California , United States
A professional teacher knows what he is doing, highly recommended.
I have been learning piano here for 2 months. The teacher is so nice and encouraging meanwhile knows how to push me to progress in a good way. As an adult beginning learner, I am really enjoying playing piano here.
5. Black Oak Guitars
Address: 718 E Foothill Blvd, San Dimas, CA 91773 , Charter Oak , California , United States
Great service ..ralph dialed in my musicman 4 string bass and brought back to specs even better than when i first purchased…also repaired my early 90’s takamine 12 string acoustic which came out incredible..fixed a small crack on the body new nut new hardware came back awesome..my go to guy for sure when it comes to guitars great fair prices too!
Brought my newly purchased carbon fiber acoustic. Action was a little high. Brought to Ralph to get it set up. He adjusted the truss rod and action is spot on. Asked how much I owed him and he kindly said no charge because he did not have to do a lot. Where can you find service like that nowadays. Ralph is very easy to talk to and explains the process of the set up. A plus Guy.
Alr ady told my friends and they are getting their guitars to get Ralph to set it up. Thank You Ralph for your kindness and expertise.
I build my own guitars. Ralph has wired new builds, fixed old wiring, rerouted neck pockets and set up almost a dozen guitars for me. I won’t go anywhere else! Luthier extraordinaire!
6. Guitar Center
Address: 1241 S Lone Hill Ave, Glendora, CA 91740 , Charter Oak , California , United States
GUITARS, BASSES, DRUMS, MICROPHONES, SPEAKERS OF ALL SORTS…. GREAT PRICES & GREAT STAFF!!!!! EASY PARKING TOO!!!!!
I came in about a week ago to buy a ukulele as a gift. I know absolutely nothing about musical instruments, so I was a bit hesitant. The staff was able to point me in the right direction and show me the right ukulele. And it was a hit!
They really cared about what they were selling and they were super knowledgeable. I’d come back here in a heart beat!
Great Customer service, all your instrumental needs are here. I brought my vintage guitar that needed restringing and was advised excellent by the guitar specialist. I know nothing about guitars and am very happy.
Great place but hard to get help
Typical Guitar Center… handful of people working at the time I went, but didn’t get tons of help. If you don’t know what you need, you might want to do some research. These aren’t product experts, they just work here.
Couldn’t get help with a purchase. Even after someone said they would get me help, no one arrived and i left. I ended up in Brea and the helped me spend $600.00.
Had to wait 30 mins to pay when there were only 2 customers on the line.
Nobody ever wants to help out here. Either they’re too busy chatting it up with each other over last nights party, or are too pretentious to even make eye contact with you. This place is useless. To me, it’s become showroom, buy from Amazon instead.
The guitar tech, Norbert I think his name was, left scratches all over my fretboard from going too hard with a razor blade. Just go to Sam Ash.
7. GMP Guitars
Address: 535 W Allen Ave, San Dimas, CA 91773 , Charter Oak , California , United States
The owner Dan is the best!! Super talented and makes the best quality guitars. Try them out you won’t be disappointed.
Some of the best guitars built in the USA to your specifications!
You like jumbo or skinny and tall fretts? He can do anything. He can create any necks you want. One of the best in the business. Easy and very friendly atmosphere !
Dan is humble and down to earth. I was treated like a rock star even though I am just a regular guitar player. He took care of my Les Paul over night, works perfect. This man deserves a medal for his kindness, respect and god like guitar builder ability! Go to GMP guitars, the feeling is satisfaction in perfection. Wish I had always gone there, but I was shy cuz his star studded client I wasn’t, but he made me feel like one!
These people are scammers I would not do business wit these low life people!!!!!!!!!don’t waste your money!.
No longer named Gards. Still a very stocked music store. Friendly staff too! Came here for their colorful Yamaha Recorder
Quick and easy rental of a violin for my child
2018 will be my 16th year as a music instructor at Gard’s. I cannot say enough good things about the store. The management, staff, teachers have all contributed to the wonderful experience I have had .; not to mention all the wonderful students over the years who have allowed me to help them strive towards their musical aspirations. HAVE A HAPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR ……
Really good deal on my son’s instrument. The staff was helpful and polite. The instrument was also delivered to the store location within the time frame that was stated, everywhere else has been delayed.
Cool little music store that offers a small selection of keyboards bass guitars electric and acoustic guitars as well as orchestra and band instruments.
This Glendora Ca. store was condensed with easy to view merchandise, polite staff. Some real bargains in written music. Fast easy shop.
About 5 years ago I brought a recorder in and asked for a thumb rest for it. Instead of ordering the $5 removable factory thumb rest which was made for that model, they installed an ill-fitting 3rd-party metal thumb rest with screws that are so long that they protrude inside the barrel, so that if the thumb rest were ever removed, it would leave holes in the barrel. Worse, they charged me $65 for this junky little metal piece and the 5 minutes of labor to install it. When I complained, they blew me off.
I will never go back there.
I see that they’ve been acquired by Music & Arts, which resulted in a name change, but it sounds like it’s still the same folks running the store, so my review will stand.
The customer service I received at this store was fine given the circumstances. The review is for my overall experience ordering from Music and Arts.
I ordered two items that, according to the order page, were supposed to be shipped to this store and ready for pick up within 2-7 days. One item was ready the next day, but it took 3 weeks for the rest of my order to arrive. When I went to pick my order up, the first item was present, but the second item was not in its packaging. I waited three weeks for an empty bag.
If I had known that it would have taken three weeks to be disappointed, I would have rather have taken five minutes to look in the mirror.
I had a flute and a piccolo repaired here. They didn’t do a good job. My piccolo was given back to me with hot glue strands hanging off of it and a small wooden piece wedged into a pad. When I complained about the piccolo, they simply clipped of the glue strands and handed it back. It was clear that they would not be able to make it better. I had to take the instruments to another shop to have them rerepaired. I won’t be back.
11. Angels Musical Instruments Inc
Address: 1739 S Grand Ave, Glendora, CA 91740 , Charter Oak , California , United States
Long time distributor for my retail store. Good quality products and service.
The owner is incredibly rude and has no sense of customer service. You are better dealing with other wholesale distributors in the area who have great customer service and better pricing.
12. GMW guitars
Address: 220 N Glendora Ave, Glendora, CA 91741 , Charter Oak , California , United States
Super cool local record store with all the merch you would expect because theyll have items you didnt know you really wanted. Great service too.
Great friendly service, and good prices!
Amazing selection of both 12″ & 7″ records,
Super friendly staff that is passionate about what they do,
And the prices are unbelievably low compared to what Is typical.
Was able to pick up 2 7″ records for a total of $2 where they would’ve cost me $10-$20 apiece back home
Nice store. Kinda a limited selection. Almost entirely 60s 70s R&R.
Nice little shop, not a huge vinyl selection, but i found some good buys
Way cool store. Great prices.
Went for record store day and they barely ordered enough records to satisfy the line they had before opening. I went in asking for the 4 different records which they told me they only ordered 40 or 10 copies of on the busiest day of the year! Then I went to the used vinyl section, for a record store was very lackluster. This is basically a tshirt store considering how big their shirt collection was compared to their vinyl collection.
Not much variety
14. LAMI MUSIC
Address: 1000 E Rte 66 suite i, Glendora, CA 91740 , Charter Oak , California , United States
Great store and has a awesome collection will good prices
what a surprise!! a neat little store with a great collection
This place is a gem tucked away in a corner. They have records that are super rare and a huge diversity of genres.
Nice atmosphere
It was ok it’s just what you expect from a record store there’s a way better one in all ways shapes and form..it’s down citrus near A 711 and a gas station…..1million times better ,.I’m just being honest….
18. Sam Ash Music Stores
Address: 18031 Gale Ave, City of Industry, CA 91748 , Charter Oak , California , United States
Service was great !
Few Products that I could not find or were not available at the time at Guitar Center I was able to purchase on my fist ever trip to Sam Ash.
Love supporting this music store with incredible selection of instruments and accessories. Friendly service is a+
I called and went in the same day to the Industry, CA store to get strap buttons installed on my new Cordoba C4-CE. The guitar (J.D) tech had it done for me in 10 mins (just like he said) for a reasonable price. Very knowledgeable and skilled tech. He walked out of his repair area to find me
Before I went in, I called to ask about the service. The manager who answered the phone said the tech was out to lunch and would be back soon, so I could drop by with my guitar. It was just as he said. Friendly service from when I went in to when I left. Three sales reps checked on me to make sure I was getting what I needed. No pressure, just friendly service.
I went back later that night to get a piano lesson book for my 8 year old son. They checked the computers, checked the bins, and then checked the storehouse, but no book. They really went out of their way.
I even bought 2 leather guitar straps here rather than online because the prices were better here, believe it or not. Great quality in material and craftsmanship that I could touch and examine before buying.
I haven’t had a bad experience at this store in the many, many years I’ve been coming. The staff has changed, but the quality of service hasn’t.
This was an okay place to shop. Went in to pick up a new bass and amp. When we walked in one of the gentlemen approached us and said “I just want you to know , I’m going to take care of you and you are going to get the best price”. I bought a bass guitar, beat machine and an amp. I didn’t get the best deal ever because I paid full price. I don’t really care, but the initial greeting at the door was kind of misleading. Just be upfront from the gate and stop trying to make a sale by giving customers a false sense of security. If it wasn’t for that I would have given them 5 stars.
Good experience. Friendly staff.
Havent gone but seems pretty cool
I just want to bought the ukulele to my kid..
should be complete transaction may only take 10 min..
but I stay there almost an HR , because no body help us , until we find somebody nothing to do there then we ask help to get what I want the stuff…
They’ll sell you things only to make money. If you are not a profecional, ask a person who knows to go with you.
They re nicer and more helpful at the other guitar store.
19. Mike’s Guitar World
Address: 626 W Rte 66 Unit J, Glendora, CA 91740 , Charter Oak , California , United States
Joe Morton is an excellent instructor of guitar and ukulele. Highly recommend.
I have been bringing my daughter to Mikes guitar world for years. She is 14 and loves music. She has taken lessons from multiple teachers there over the years who have come and gone and we have absolutely loved every one of them. She currently takes lessons with Mike and Chrissa and they are both amazing teachers and mentors to her. She has also been a part of the band program and I can’t tell you how good it’s been for her. It has built up her confidence and built up her love of music and performing. She is a great musician for her age. I highly recommend taking lessons there! Plus they are fairly inexpensive compared to other places in the area.
Great environment to learn and grow as a musician. Teachers are well informed and listen
20. Bella Music Studios
Address: 110 Shoppers Ln, Covina, CA 91723 , Charter Oak , California , United States
My son and daughter takes voice lessons here and they both are doing great!
Our kids have been taking lessons here for about 9 months (piano and guitar). We had shopped around a little and found that this studio fit our needs the best and they accommodated our request which was for their lessons to be at the same time. Our kids say they love their instructors, Diana (piano) and Rene (guitar) that they are very kind and encouraging and challenging. The best way to communicate with the main contact for getting started is via email. The only thing we don’t love is that for some reason the drum lessons are not in a room and in an open air style room so if you’re there the same time as a drum lesson it’s kind of a drag. The prices are comparable to the other music lessons we had shopped in the area.
I’ve called many times and gone by, it’s always closed and no call backs ♀️
