The place to shop for musical instruments on Sand Mountain.
Eeeeh
Great little music shop. A good place to look for a starter instrument or replace an existing one.
Good site
this place is burnt!
I felt watched and rushed. Two women were working there that day, one was very friendly. I did not feel comfortable asking questions and also it was so hot in there.
The people are not friendly, the merchandise is overpriced, some equipment is not even new (and it is damaged) although they don’t disclose that information, and getting around in a wheelchair is next to impossible. The lady at the register didn’t know anything about the equipment. It is definitely worth the drive to go somewhere else.
4. Gadsden Music Company
Address: 607 Broad St, Gadsden, AL 35901 , Crossville , Alabama , United States
Guitars are mostly off-brand but the store has a little bit of everything. Big store. Been on Broad St “forever”. Easily found everything we needed. They do have a very nice speaker selection.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Did offer alternatives to what I needed.
Alot of merchandice to choose from. The employees were ftiendly and helpful. It was a very pleasant trlp to the music store. My hat is off to the owners and associates ok f Gadsden Music Store.
We were overcharged for a high hat cymbal that we ordered. When they refunded the difference, they did not refund the taxes on the difference.
We try to support local business as much as possible. But when they are not considerate of the value of our money, it’s time for us to find another store.
This place used to be very friendly and musicians dream to come in. Now it’s full of a bunch of butt heads. I Won’t Go Back
Rip off & don’t know measurements for nuts/ saddle’s probably anything just a store that takes suckers for a ride

As a parent of a new member of the marching band I done alot of research and decided I felt more comfortable with making a large purchase locally as opposed to ordering online. We had veen to a few music stores in town and the surrounding areas. Feeling all were a bit over priced I tried out yet another store. Upon our arrival the owner was so exceptionally helpful. Not only did he help us with the instrument but all the other bits of things involved with marching band. He helped me with a discount for paying in full and even ordered a few more items i needed. Wonderful store, spectacular service, a happy parent and child!
A quaint store. There are two young gentleman who work there and seem to have access to many different kinds of instruments.
Make sure to look forward to our songwriters workshop posted on their community board and join us for class at Lake waldensia.
I’ve been going to Musicians Pick for a couple years now for strings and stuff but recently I’ve been taking my guitars to get set up and they do a fantastic job! My guitars always come back playing perfect and smooth. Not only that but they treat their customers very well! I highly recommend stopping by!!
Very friendly very willing to help very knowledgeable and what they’re doing
Just a little pricie
Tried to ask questions and took the wrong way.
Didn’t know asking information on something was issue.
No knowledge of guitar parts at all. I asked if they had guitar saddles in tusq or bone and he said he had some bone ones some fitted and some blanks i asked fitted for what?(as in what model guitar) dude say “uh a guitar”? Like every saddle is the same for every guitar. That didn’t bother me near as much as the older guy standing on the customer side of the counter not taking his eyes off me or my friend the entire time we tried to see what they had after he asked if he could help us and I said no thank you we are just looking after that he just stared us down. Not a music store I would recommend.
7. Art’s Music Shop, Inc
Address: 4647 US-280, Birmingham, AL 35242 , Crossville , Alabama , United States
The staff are super knowledgeable and very friendly. They have a great selection of products.
Got told a U bass is rare yet at bailey brothers (within walking distance)I found two that were better quality and cheaper
Everyone was not only friendly and helpful but extremely knowledgeable too! The person who helped me had a degree in music! (So much more than just a sales clerk.)
Very helpful and friendly
Big
Friendly & knowledgeable but took longer than expected to get instrument serviced. I was told would be called the next day with estimate, & it was 3 days before I received the call. I told them I had to get instrument back by a specific date for a performance, he said “not a problem”, I was calling them to get it back 4 days before performance, & was able to pick it up the day before it. They kept it for a month, & I was never able to speak directly to guy doing service which was not cheap. Don’t be in a hurry when dealing with them!
SCAM! Just buy an instrument off Amazon with Affirm or some other if you need to make payments. The markup isn’t justified by the TERRIBLE and antiquated policies and customer service.
AVOID! THIS IS A SCAM!
Stay away. They are way overpriced.
Was in there for 20 minutes with my kid and wasn’t even acknowledged. Tried to get their attention but employees were in a rather long discussion with each other. We are now at Bailey Brothers which is a block away so we can purchase a bass guitar for my son. Customer service actually exists at Bailey Brothers. It does not at Art’s. Such a disappointment. We had heard good things about them.
8. Crossville Health and Rehabilitation, LLC
Address: 8922 AL-227, Crossville, AL 35962 , Crossville , Alabama , United States
I absolutely love Crossville Health and Rehabilitation. I enjoy working here and being a part of this wonderful family like facility. My co-workers are amazing!
My favorite nursing home to go to!
I absolutely love this place and the employees! Great facility to work at with kind and compassionate nursing/therapy staff. Wonderful place you can trust to have your loved ones at, whether it be long term care of short term rehab. Fantastic administrator- well versed in her field and truly cares about the staff and residents; puts their needs above her own.
The place is a very clean and nicely kept place. The atmosphere in there facility is also one of warmth and comfort making it better
For the residents as well.I would highly recommend this facility to anyone.
My mother has been here for almost a year the staff is extremely helpful and thoughtful the place is beautifully clean and decorated I would recommend this home to everyone.
Just took great uncle to go In staff was great .Hated to have to leave him but staff made me feel like i was doing the best thing for him .He may be upset now but pray he will get along great.
The woman in the front office seemed catty. Don’t think she works at the desk but was rummaging through papers. I will update with a name later. She is rude and mean as ever. I wouldn’t trust her with a loved one.
Don’t be fooled, these people allowed my Dad’s teeth to completely rot out & not once did they inform me there was a problem. I’d think twice before placing my loved one here.
9. Bailey Brothers Music Company
Address: 4673 US-280 Suite # 7, Birmingham, AL 35242 , Crossville , Alabama , United States
I bought a tama superstar classic from Bailey Brothers, and was very happy. The staff member that i worked with was david he was very helpful and nice. i highly recommend this music store!
Always great customer service helpful and friendly! And great selection too no my first or my last purchase from them!
As always Bailey Bros did not let me down. Looking for a ukulele to play with my great niece’s. Excellent help with no pressure to purchase but always close to answer questions. Only place for all your musical needs. Martin, Takamine, Alvarez and Ibanez (not shown). Yes I love Bailey ❤ Bros!!
Good selection of musical equipment. Be prepared because they strictly enforce the muzzle mandate inside. They make you wear masks.
good staff well organize not bad products
I needed to buy instruments for my Middle School kids. They were very upfront with their prices and seemed to have the best deals.
I explained to them thoroughly what I needed and they sold me the opposite! It all about sells and f**k the customers needs! Stay away from the southside location!
I left my guitar with this store in February 2012 for a simple repair. In June it was still hanging waiting for them to repair. I had been told on multiple occasions that it would be ready in just a few days. I picked it up today June 24, 2012 and no repair has been done and I was still charged a bench fee. This place sucks. I will never go in there again. Good luck if you do.
Dishonest, and disrespectful. While I’m aware they have an “all sales final” on used gear policy, it is their responsibility to properly inspect the gear they take in and not sell something that is damaged internally (in my case, a guitar amp). Idiot salesman also had a smug grin on his face the whole time my brother and I were having to deal with it (all 5-6 hours) and was making snooty comments back and forth. In a nut shell they sold me a dead amp and then laughed in my face about it. If this is how your business treats customers, don’t expect to be a business for long. I attempted a purchase with Bailey Brothers about 8 years ago. Was not a pleasant experience. This one wasn’t either. Rest assured, that’s it. I will not be back.
Update: Hey the owner called me just to prove they really do not care about customers. Tried to minimize what happened, and basically acted exactly like Keith did. Also a robotic “I apologize but we’re not going to do anything to fix it” does not count as rectifying anything. Gee wonder why the Southside store closed! Oh yeah and if you have a bad experience with them and they don’t own up to it they’ll do like any typical teenager does and tries to badmouth you on Facebook, then stalk your page. Very mature. Screenshots are great though aren’t they?
PS: Oh and buddy, if I were mad and desperate to pay my rent, then why in the heck did I buy a $700 amp from you? Nice try.
10. Counts Brothers Music Inc
Address: 713 Waverly Ave, Muscle Shoals, AL 35661 , Crossville , Alabama , United States

Seems like some decent prices but very stale service.the blonde at the front desk acts like it hurts her face to smile r speak someone done told her she cute 1 to many times
Over priced needed Reed’s and I can get them 10 for 28-32 dollars any where. Theirs was 10 bucks as. And I had to have them that day. Nope I’m done with them
11. Homewood Musical Instrument Co
Address: 1712 28th Ave S, Homewood, AL 35209 , Crossville , Alabama , United States
Great place, super helpful! Helped me pick out a great Mandolin and even threw in a case!
Knowledgeable and friendly. Loved it!
Great place for stringed instruments
Friendly atmosphere and lots of instruments.
Good product, Good service.
I’ve never dealt with someone so rude over the phone. The owner tried to guilt me with sarcasm and acted like victim when I questioned a price. Full story: I asked to order a cello string. All was going well (owner answered questions about speed of shipping and availability of the string), but then he quoted a price ($81) that was far above what other shops charge. I said respectfully that “I’ve purchased the string for $45 at other walk-in shops” and he became sarcastic and argumentative with me, claiming he was “holding my hand” through the process, and said “Well, I have to pay $35 for this string so what do YOU think is fair for ME to make? $15? What is 35 + 15, huh? Ohhh, maybe $50 is more than you can afford?” A simple, “well this is my price” would have been fine as a response from him, but I felt disrespected so I hung up and decided I’m never going to spend a dime Homewood Musical Instrument Co. I advise everyone else to steer clear of this shop and the guy who owns it.
12. The Fret Shop
Address: 309 Jordan Ln NW, Huntsville, AL 35805 , Crossville , Alabama , United States
Wow i cam say they are musicians …and ty so much.. Im definitely investing here …fell asleep with my guitar…
Mark was great in helping me choose a guitar during a hectic time of isolation due to virus. I plan to visit once the store opens back up. Thanks
Would’ve been 5. Almost everyone was great, especially the guy that rang me up, and my experience was mostly enjoyable, but grey goatee was rude when I asked for his opinion on some Marshall amps.
This place don’t let you rock the hell out like I do so I feel unwelcome and very bored! Just let people rock out
Nice folks and a quaint, decent size of a guitar shop! Unfortunately the service didn’t blow me away. I dropped off a guitar to have it cleaned up and checked for intonation. I don’t think any of the saddles were even moved. I ended up having to intonate the strings myself when I got a decent tuner in front of me.
This used to be a good guitar shop. Now, it’s mediocre at best. If you’re not in the market for either a Taylor acoustic guitar or something cheap that’s a bit overpriced, you’re wasting your time going in this store. The strings are double the price I pay online. I would pay a little more for local service, but I’m not going to pay double. They don’t have most of the stuff that they show on their website, and they have a lot of small items in the store that are not on their website. The service is not friendly at all. The man behind the counter should try a smile once in a while.
They better get it together or they’ll be going the way some of the other local shops went, and sooner rather than later. The franchise and online stores will swallow them whole.
I have never been in this shop without being made to feel like a second class citizen. Bought a defective Taylor here, the first three frets were lower than the rest. When I asked about the warranty I was told they weren’t qualified to make that repair. When pushed on the matter their final answer was, didn’t you play it before you bought it? If you’re in the right clique this might be a great store, if not, Buyer Beware!
Terrible customer service. We bought a $400 guitar here and was told we would get a free alignment. We came back a few days later to get it and the man that we talked to very unhelpful and rude. We will not be recommending this place to anyone. We are very surprised by this behavior considering our contribution to their business during these tough times. Disappointed.
13. Crossville
Address: Alabama 35962 , Crossville , Alabama , United States
Great store, great people, handsome and charming manager.
Excellent staff and amazing selection
Great experience. The help was fantastic!
Good selection of guitars and drums.
Very knowledgeable staff of course no one can know everything but the young man who couldn’t answer my question Newton could it made it a point to get me with them the gentleman I spoke with very knowledgeable about sound music and equipment to make the most of it would definitely do return
Service blows out of my last three trips here no one has offered to help or assist in any way shape or form.
I was skeptical when Gibson told me that GC was the only authorized repair center in Huntsville for my Hummingbird acoustic, but I took it anyway to have the pick guard repaired that was curling under the strings. When I picked it up, the repair looks terrible. There is glue smeared on the finish and the pickguard, and it is still not fully stuck down. I’ve taken the guitar elsewhere in hopes they can remove the glue and fix this repair the way it should be fixed. Beware of leaving your prized possessions with GC for repair. I won’t do it again.
So I bought a Taylor 314ce today online at 3pm and chose in store pick up as it was in stock. I paid 1400 with my debit card and $800 on the guitar center gear card. I talked to a worker in person at the store and he told me that I could pick it up in a couple of hours. He also asked for the make and model of the guitar and he found it in the store and placed it in the back so no one could buy it. Well it’s currently almost time for the store to close which is at 9pm… If I knew that it’d take this long to pick up a $2200 guitar when I could’ve just bought it in person and walk out of it at that instant I would’ve just paid cash up front for it. So disappointing… I also bought a $260 ukulele for my wife yesterday and they gave us the bag with a broken zipper although they replaced it today for free. Guess I’ll have to wait till tomorrow hopefully it’ll be ready then.
