So glad I found these guys. Decided to pick up an accordion about six months ago, so I bought one from Monarch, and signed up for lessons. Mike is amazing, very knowledgable, patient, and a great teacher. Going to my lesson is the highlight of my week, and Mike has given me the tools to learn the accordion at a pretty rapid pace. If you are looking for a place to buy an accordion, or a great repair shop, or looking to take lessons, look no further. Going to Monarch is the highlight of my week, everyone is super friendly, and I couldnt be happier for the joy that the accordion and their guidance have brought both me and my family. Thanks guys!
Wonderful experience! They were super friendly, helpful and knowable. The owner was able to answer all of my questions. I’ve never had a bad experience coming here.
3. Under Cover Cases
Address: 6125 E 56th Ave A, Commerce City, CO 80022 , Derby , Colorado , United States
I’m pretty sure this place doesn’t exist. I have tried to call them and the line is disconnected. I drove to those buildings listed as the address with no luck. Even the google photo is showing a different building.
4. Gravity Music Gear
Address: 6487 Federal Blvd, Denver, CO 80221 , Derby , Colorado , United States
Cool staff nice place, wish I could see the prices of the stuff behind the counter without asking but cool local guitar shop.
Place is awsome!!!
Customer service was phenominal
Jason gave me a more than fair price!
Cool little guitar shop. Go in and have a look around. You won’t be disappointed by the sites.
Got used drum parts cheaper than new
Clean & nice
The staff was helpful and answered all of my questions. Lot of nice instruments and accessories.
No returns; all sales are final. They don’t warn you or even note it on your receipt.
Owner is a pretentious d bag. They clean all their products with windex and WD-40. It’s literally just a pawn shop. They’re objective is to screw you and get your gear as cheap as possible and sell it for as close to retail as they can. They have 2 good employees that I seriously feel bad for.
Great place to find some awesome gear! Unfortunately I had a terrible experience returning something I had bought 10 days ago…I realized the amp I bought didn’t have a line out so I tried to exchange it and they would only honor $100 less than I paid for it.
The employee advocated for me to his manage but the manager wouldn’t budge or even talk to me about it.
Super frustrating to lose $100 for no good reason at all.
Go here if you want to find some good gear but make sure it’s the right kind or they’ll make you pay.
5. Monkton Guitars
Address: 1505 W 1st Ave A, Broomfield, CO 80020 , Derby , Colorado , United States
TL;DR – This place rules, come here instead of some big box guitar store.
Came into the store this weekend hoping to find a new amp, I’d been thinking I wanted a Fender Twin Reverb but wasn’t quite sure if that was really what I was after. The owner Dave helped me out, had me play through a handful of other amps before setting me up with both the Twins they had in stock. Being able to play the ’70 twin back to back with a 90’s ’65 reissue was perfect to get a feel for the difference between different models of the same amp. Dave was super friendly, knowledgable and helpful, the store had great inventory, and ultimately I walked out with the 1970 Twin (best sounding amp I’ve ever played). This is my first tube amp (and a vintage one at that) but I feel great knowing I can give them a call if I have issues or need maintenance in the future and they’ll point me in the right direction. I’ll 100% be coming back here for future purchases and would encourage anyone reading this to support a great small business and shop here.
Monkton Guitars recently did a bit of work on a couple of my guitars. Their tech did an excellent job for a great price, and the owner was super knowledgeable and friendly. I have visited several guitar shops in Broomfield/Denver over the years and think I have a new favorite. Thanks Dave! I’ll definitely be back.
I bought a ukulele from them and I will be back. I love that they are locally owned and that the owner is incredibly knowledgable. Their products are quality and diverse for everyone from affordable beginners to precious collectors.
Best shop around!
great place to try and buy, they know their stuff and are super nice and willing to help you find what you’re looking for. they have great recommendations and will let you play whatever for however long. very cheap for repairs and guitar work, much cheaper than other places. got my frets leveled/crowned and it sounds fantastic, however they did kind of gauge/scratch the neck on several frets. sucks, but not a huge deal as it’s not a high end guitar and the price was right ($60). again, sounds great but i would be weary of bringing a higher end model in as they weren’t very careful about taping off the neck to avoid cosmetic damage.
do not take your guitars here for repair! simple jobs will end up being 2 hours in labor charges. they will take your working guitar and send you home with a non-working guitar. they will mix up the wiring on the pots. they will give you pots too large so your knobs have a huge gap underneath. unbelievably unprofessional and incapable.
EDIT: The business response is not a fair respresentation. First guitar, volume pots wired backwards. Second guitar, repair only lasted the car ride home. Second fix only lasted the next car ride home. Third fix, incorrect tone mapping and too large of pots. Every single trip a problem. Why would I go back?
6. Acordeonate Music Shop
Address: 2963 W 72nd Ave, Westminster, CO 80030 , Derby , Colorado , United States
7. Guitar Hut
Address: 1385 Forest Park Cir #106, Lafayette, CO 80026 , Derby , Colorado , United States
There are not enough stars to rate this place. They have been more then great with my daughter, were a huge help at making Christmas special for her. They teach at a level that is understanding for all ages and expertise. The people at guitar hut are compassionate, knowledgeable and understanding. I am so glad we found this place and highly recommend for everyone!
Best service I have had at any music shop in a very long time, maybe ever. They set up my guitar to perfection! They went the extra mile to make it perfect and I will be visiting store for all of my guitar needs. Also a very unique selection of instruments at the store that I haven’t seen anywhere else. Thankyou so much Guitar Hut for taking so much pride in you’re work! Will be returning soon for lots of strings and pics ect. !
Great guitar shop with a laid-back vibe and helpful staff!
I had these guys take a look at a signature bass of mine. It had some electrical problems going on with it that were a bit out of their knowledge base but Evan is great guy. Very honest and very hard working. I will return with any other problems I have in the future and I would recommend them. Their pricing is very fair and they are willing to help out customers any way they can.
I called to sign my boys up for guitar lessons and had a few options worked out and was told I would be called back to confirm which times worked. I never heard back. Then, when I called back to confirm options, I was told they didn’t have any of my information logged and there were no longer any time slots available for lessons.
Everyone I have met there seems very nice, but very poorly organized.
I’ve been coming to Flesher-Hinton since I was young and they have always been a reliable store to buy all of the music things. Now that I’m a music teacher, I always recommend that my students come here. They are kind, reasonable, and always helpful. Thank you, Flesher-Hinton! Music education in Denver is so grateful for you!
For those who think Flesher Hinton Music is no longer serving the public with their wide selection of music services and supplies, I have some great news for you! They are still in business in Wheat Ridge on 44th Avenue near Harlan Street. If they don’t have what you need in stock, they will go the extra mile to find what you need. Check them out and discover for yourself how they can fulfill your musical needs.
Andy and Kim are so kind and helpful. Ive come to Flesher since I was a kid and now so do my kids.
Can’t imagine going anywhere else.
There’s parking at the new location. Really reasonably priced supplies. Not the best selection for buying instruments though. Since their relocation, seems they’re putting more emphasis on instrument repair. Still probably the best music supply shop in the area
Like always the services people were just great.
The people employees are professional, knowledgeable, and ready to help!
As with any store like this, you can expect them to be salesmen, though they don’t push too hard and don’t avoid helping you find the lowest priced items.
The technicians are great, but I wish they had a bit more enthusiasm.
If you are testing out brass instruments or such, the practice room they put me in had too much reverb to get accurate samples, even with a recording device. I have yet to ask if they had a more acoustically dry room.
They can order sheet music and products, and have all the basics and many accessories for band musicians.
Went in to check out acoustic guitars earlier today. Got an important call as I was about to tune a guitar I was checking out and the guy behind the counter just starts blowing into some sort of wind instrument seemingly deliberately because taking a quick phone call. So I hung up the guitar and just walked out.
But the guy who welcomed me when I walked in seemed nice.
Just terrible experience! Purchased a new wood clarinet 5 months ago. Found out it was cracking, unfortunately happens if not taken care of, but not in the first 5 months.
Took 2+ months to fix, when we finally picked it up, some old guy in the store started telling my 16 year old daughter about keeping it greased every six months- lecturing her because it was so dried out! Finally stepped in and told him…we bought it here less than 5 months ago…in other words, you sold an old dried out clarinet for $2000.00. Will never ever step foot in this store again d/t the service dept.
10. Flipside Music
Address: 2231 S Platte River Dr, Denver, CO 80223 , Derby , Colorado , United States
Had a great time picking out a case. Staff was super helpful and quick!
I was impressed with the selection of stop boxes, guitars and strings. They carry Pig Hog cables which caught my eye with their unique colors, and have a lifetime warranty. They also carry Curt Mangan Strings. I purchased a nano looper 360 by electro-harmonix at a great price. This guitar shop has a nice atmosphere, It is a local music shop with friendly service. I highly recommend it, five stars.
I love this place! Hands down one of the coolest guitar shops with the most awesome gear! I bought a Strymon Blue Sky from here a little while back and couldn’t be happier. It’s nice to see a shop that carries an awesome selection of boutique, top of the line pedals that are a bit harder to come by without having to go online, pay shipping, and wait for the gear to be delivered. Also, it’s refreshing to be able to talk to people who actually know about the gear they have in store and online. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable unlike certain chains that shall remain nameless… *cough* guitar center *cough*. If you’re in the area, I would definitely go and check out Flipside!!
Very knowledgeable staff and unique instruments
Good inventory for a small place.
Best service in this category
Overly expensive and also lots of homeless people hanging outside on the street near by. It’s a dump.
11. Sound Town
Address: 5241 N Pecos St, Denver, CO 80221 , Derby , Colorado , United States
Sound Town did an amazing job helping me with my amplifier. They assured me that my old amplifier was still working (they even tuned it and played it) and gave me much needed information about how I could upgrade in the future if or when needed. This is a knowledgeable and helpful business that I will continue to support.
If you need a microphone, this the spot.
Mark and the guys at Sound Town are extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and innovative when it comes to new ideas and products.
These guys are great and won’t gouge you with the price of all their great products and service.
I use them for my personal, business, and church audio needs and they’re simply The Best.
A + !
Knowledgeable and equipped, but next door to a marijuana dispensary. The place smelled like dope.
A great place for new and used audio equipment. I was surprised at all the high quality speakers
Limited stock. Limited selection.
I tried to give this local shop a chance multiple times and they just don’t have a good inventory and the prices of what they do have are outrageously high.
Terrible customer service
I guess I am a sucker. I turned my gear in to be fixed at soundtown . since I spent a lot of money on guitar center warranty. Mark who I am guessing g is the owner told me it wasn’t under warranty and it was user error .so I owed 25 for trouble shooting actions since that is not covered. Even after telling him that Guitar Center said it was covered and he needed to speak to them. He insisted that I had to pay. So I payed .called guitar center and they are reimbursing me the funds since they wasn’t suppose to charge me. But to gain my business they continued to bash the competitors which isn’t surprising. So my equip layed there for 11 days after no status report even after me calling them continually. The tech guy was way rude. I will say Mark was very nice explaining the system to me , but he still did charge me 25.00. Aswell when I asked them if they did a certain discount, no our prices are already discounted. If you are a beginner and still wet behind the ears do not go to them they will take advantage of you.
12. Avalanche Recording Studios
Address: 10650 Irma Dr UNIT 27, Northglenn, CO 80233 , Derby , Colorado , United States
Fantastic facility with amazing vintage gear! It’s run by a multi-platinum record producer who knows how to get the sound you want.
In 1988 I was in a local group called, “Creativedge” and had the fine opportunity to record at Avalanche. This is a World Class Studio commissioned by many Major Label Recording Artists, some of which were my favorites! The studio has an exquisite layout and artful design and I instantly fell in love with the soundboard and amazing control room. I could not believe how incredible my drums and everything else sounded here! Really great experience and the best of memories!
13. Olde Town Pickin’ Parlor
Address: 7515 Grandview Ave, Arvada, CO 80002 , Derby , Colorado , United States
I bought a guitar from Old Town Pickin Parlor and want to share my experience. I went to the shop based on a posting on their site. The shop is nicely laid out and the staff was friendly and professional with casual interactions no pressure. They let me browse and handle the instruments while working with other customers at the same time. I was comfortable and treated nicely and allowed to take all the time I needed.
I was an informed shopper as I collect American guitars for investment purposes. I was able to bargain for the guitar at a price which was below market, the Rickenbacker was on consignment so they had to check with the seller and promptly followed up with me the next day and I made a great purchase.
I took the guitar to a shop near me for set up. That shop, which has been around for years did the set up and told me the bridge pickup was bad. I called Old Town back and complained about the issue and why I was not informed before purchase. I was told I could bring it back and they would work with me but because it was a consignment item, they had not checked it out in detail.
It gets better. I took the instrument to a luthier for advice. He informed me there was nothing wrong with this instrument, the shop had plugged the guitar into the wrong output jack on the Rickenbacker and demonstrated with beautiful tones the instrument is known for.
I was embarrassed I had complained to Old Town, so I writing this truth to let everyone know they are reasonable and honest. It is a shop which has a great staff and great products. Like any store, you have the choice of paying the price or not. I have traveled globally and one has to consider the local market, as that is where the product is. I shop every shop in Denver looking to add to my collection, and I can honestly say Old Town is fairly priced and some phenomenal bargains if you are a informed shopper.
I still shop their site and when visiting, the wife gets to visit the great ice cream shop next store…a perk. I would recommend this shop as a place to try to find what you are looking for. In my case, the Rickenbacker was 35% less than the price everyone else wanted, even compared to Ebay. Go to look and enjoy the atmosphere or learn and buy, they do not pressure you.
They were unwilling to negotiate the price (at all) towards a trade in, which was a bummer. Don’t expect any deals here because you won’t get one. I would come back here if there was a guitar I really wanted, but otherwise there are similar guitars in same or better condition on craigslist for less, and without sales tax. He wanted 2600+ for a Martin HD28v with a crack in it.
I don’t know anything about picking parlor but I must say Olde Town has potential to be great. But…. they tear down way to many old interesting buildings that should be preserved and keep the Olde Town real. And I have to rate downtown a 3 with all the cigarette butts that are littered throughout the entire town! It is DISGUSTING!!!
Disappointing that employees won’t wear a mask, despite the sign on their front door saying it’s required. Decent selection but generally lacking in customer service.
If you have a guitar that means anything to you at all stay far away from this place. They ruined the most wonderful sounding and easiest playing guitar I ever hoped to own. And, treated me as rudely and dismissively as I have ever been treated.
Staff wasn’t interested in helping us, they seemed preoccupied with more important things…
A great place to shop for guitars. They let me sit and play multiple instruments with no pressure.
I’ve been shopping at Woodsongs since I was 13, and my Dad shopped there before me. We’ve both been customers of the lutherie as well and I won’t leave my guitars with anyone else. They’ve always been helpful, always friendly, and always known who I am and what I’m after even though I’m not famous and barely gig. I went to musical school in Boston, have crossed the lower 48 multiple times, and have played both stringed instruments and woodwinds. I’ve patronized a number of music supply stores and Woodsongs has always provided one of the better shopping experiences. In fact I can’t think of any complaints of significance except for that one time when I was 17 and had to order some sheet music they didn’t have in stock. It came in 3 days and was for classical clarinet. Not too shabby for a guitar store. I recommend HB Woodsongs to anyone who will listen.
Called long distance for a specific piece of sheet music. While they do not have it in the store, the sales rep named Derek was extremely helpful and courteous. Kudos to him.
Attentive staff. Good selection. Prices are average to high.
Great ukalele selection
Very friendly staff, unfortunately way over-priced. You can find some of the exact same items on ebay or Amazon for less than half the price at this store.
16. Drum City-Guitar Land
Address: 9225 W 44th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033 , Derby , Colorado , United States
Some of the best customer service I’ve had in years. My 9-year-old drummer girl and I left super happy and will be back.
Great place always a good time Drum city always seems to have what I want at a good price.
Best place in Denver area for the gigging drummer.
I’ll be back soon.
Thanks for all your help, Tim !
Cool selection.
Great place for drummers & guitarists. Has options of new & used. Friendly & helpful. Does special orders. Staff knowledgeable & experienced with merchandise.
Nice selection of guitars. The staff weren’t very friendly though. Just got a we’re too busy to fool with you vibe.
I came in a few times for a cocktail drum purchase and didn’t find prices that fit my budget (which is fine, it was nice equipment and they’re a used store!). I came back to try and trade things in for accessories instead (bass pedal/Hi-Hat stand) but the trade in value was changed when I got there if I didn’t buy multiple items. Again fair enough, it’s a used shop and they need to make money.
I came yesterday to grab a floor Tom ring and Tim was pretty short with me a bit immature saying “Hey, we finally sold you something!” tried to upsell me on a bass drum head for my new kick and when I was said goodbye, he ignored me while walking away.
I truly do not like to write these messages or send negativity to a used music shop as I had been apart of one for a very long time but if you can’t find me what I’m looking for at a price that is in my range: do not make it my problem and make me feel unwanted. I sent an email addressed to Tim specifically to remedy the situation and I haven’t heard anything back. So I’m writing it here to not treat others this way.
Everyone needs to make money but jeez, don’t run your customers out when they finally find something that works for them with you.
Bought a Schecter Tempest custom which was “supposed” to come with American made Seymour Duncan pickups. After I purchased the guitar they emailed me saying there was an “issue” with my pickups, and that they needed to be replaced. Yeah; they replaced them alright…with Duncan Disigned pickups…..scumbags.
Have and never will do business with again! BUYER BEWARE!!!!
I’m a beginner so I went in looking for the ibanez bass guitar starter pack. Everything went smoothly (other than when I asked them for any begginers advice they have and was ignored twice) and I was happy until I got home and pulled it out of the box to start playing. That’s when I realized the bass to amp cable was missing. So I called them and they got me a new after I had to drive back to the store. Got home again, hooked up the bass to the amp, then realized I needed to tune it. The electronic tuner it was supposed to come with was missing. I decided I need to take a full inventory. I didn’t think this was necessary because of this stores great reputation. It was also missing the shoulder strap. I had to drive back one more to return the item. Upon returning, they blamed the manufacturer and never offered anything to make up for the lost time, gas money, and frustration I experienced. I decided not to leave this review as I continued my search for my first bass set up. I found a nice bass but now i needed an amp. So after a week, I called them to give them another chance (on black friday) and asked them if there was any deal they can give me since they already gave me the run around once and if I drive all the way to 44th I want it to be worth it. The response was that his cheapest amps start at $100. I am now deciding to leave this review in hopes of 1. Improving their customer service 2. Making a begginers buyer beware as i felt like I was treated poorly compared to the other customers who weren’t begginers. Their reviews say friendly but I felt no friendliness during my whole experience 3. If u purchase from here, check that they don’t rip u off by making a full inventory before leaving the premises.
17. The Denver Folklore Center
Address: 1893 S Pearl St, Denver, CO 80210 , Derby , Colorado , United States
Love this store. Everyone at the store is awesome, knowledgeable, and friendly. And John does the best set ups and fretwork I’ve ever had on my guitars. Neighborhood gem for sure.
Great place. Beautiful instruments. Professional staff. Highly recommended.
First time buyer for a banjo and had an awesome experience. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I believe Ian was the name of the staff member who helped me. He was able to help me find the banjo with the sound I was looking for. Very happy with my mellow, open-back Gold Tone.
Good knowledge folks
This is a Great place for musical needs, instruments(Guitars,Ukeleles, Banjos) as well as Harmonicas are just some of the instruments that you will find. They offer services such as instrument repair, and lessons as well! Variety of books included.
This Music Store has been opened since 1962! Definitely one of Denver’s Gems! Lots of history about this place! Swallow Hill was located right across the street! (Back In The Day! The 60’s, 70’s and I believe the 80’s as well!)
With restaurants and breweries surrounding it’s location it makes for a wonderful attraction to visit!
Check it out!
Even with restrictions, the guys inside were super friendly and helpful (they even gave us some stickers for my boys’ guitar cases). If we lived closer (like, within the same time zone) we’d probably have bought something!
Came here while on a trip with a friend and mandolin student who was in the market for a new mandolin. She hadn’t played many because there aren’t really any places to play them where we live. I am always in the market for new instruments I like, and have several multi-thousand dollar instruments. So we went to the store, which had no other customers there, and looked at the mandolins.
She is pretty shy so I wanted to loosen her up into not feeling judged and free to try and compare. I grabbed one of the cheaper mandolins and did my typical trying out a mando routine of playing parts of tunes that try out the high, low, and mid ranges of the instrument. As soon as she started playing one of the cheaper Kentucky mandolins softly some guy came over and asked what we were looking for and that we could only play the instruments if we were going to buy them.
I gave him a quick synopsis of the situation and made the point that it’s hard to know what we’d want to buy until having played it. He replied with a smirk and said he could show us to something specific if we were interested, but couldn’t condone “jamming”. I was bewildered as we were not jamming at all, but simply lightly playing on some cheap mandolins at the same time.
Eventually he showed me to some octave mandolin that I pretended to be interested in due to the feeling that if I didn’t tell him something specific we’d be kicked out or something. I felt suspicious somehow. When he left, some younger guy came over and he was really cool. But that older guy killed any good vibes. I didn’t even try all the instruments I would have been considering to buy.
One would think that, especially in this day and age, brick and mortar music stores need to be a sanctuary for players to play instruments they’re shopping for.
I miss Harry. He was polite to his customers.
I’m musician on tour, passing through Denver, and I invited two of my bandmates to go to this shop with me. All three of us are professional musicians who live in the world of music 24/7 and are always in the market for instruments. After trying 3 guitars, one of them a resonator which I seriously considered buying, and 2 banjos, one of the employees came over and gave me a seriously dark look and told us not to “make a day of it.” I’ve never been as insulted in a store of any kind, much less a music store where trying out instruments is crucial. Maybe they have other priorities, but I was embarrassed, insulted, and disappointed. With all the competition from online sellers and stores like Guitar Center I am really surprised that they think treating the customers this way is viable. If I were in charge of this place, I wouldn’t necessarily tell my employees that the customer is always right……… but I would tell them that the customer does get to try out instruments to the degree that they want to, because you never know when inspiration will strike and that magic connection between a player and an instrument will happen……… and I would tell them that insulting the customers is a way to lose business in a hurry.
Highly recommend this business for it’s Absolutely Amazing service!!!!!!
Very informative and knowledgeable
Professional , QUALITY work !!
Super huge thank you to Tommy !!!
Restored my Gibson ga-5 gibsonette to its previous glory after it had been dead for 2 years. Sounds just as good, if not better. Very impressive job, very timely, and communicated with me each step of the way. Definitely recommend!
Brought in an Alembic F1x for maintenance based on Tommy’s reputation for the cleanest workshop and thorough diagnostic. Communication was great throughout the process.
Brought a couple amps and a cab for Tommy to fix, and told I just needed them running. The first amp only required a couple tubes and a cap replaced. I pay for the parts and he hits me with a $500 labor bill (on top of $200 in parts) without even consulting me first. He did a bunch of unnecessary work, basically a refurb, without consulting me. I hooked him up with a bunch of studio time a few years ago, and he repays me with an outrageous bill that I didn’t even ask for. I wouldn’t trust him at all.
20. Music Go Round
Address: 8055 W Bowles Ave #2C, Littleton, CO 80123 , Derby , Colorado , United States
Cleaning out the house.
Even though I don’t play any instruments I always enjoy coming here hanging out and listen to people play. And once again, my interaction with the people that work here has always been great. AW was the person that I worked with today, he was great.
I have it on many guitars in my life and not learned how to play a single one. But a couple for my daughter but now they just sit there, time to do some housecleaning.
I WOULD recommend any person of any age come and check out what they offer. They have pretty much anything that you need or want from new to use guitars, drums, whatever your heart desire’s.
Best musical instrument store ever!!!
I have ALWAYS been taken care of here! I just now (as I sit in front of the store) had a used pedal I bought act up on me. Scott repaired it immediately! Well done guys! I love local, and brick and mortar! This is it for that!!!
Staff is a great bunch of guys who have a grasp of what’s what about musical instruments. It used to be a good place to sell your used appointment. I would give you a a decent price but nowadays they won’t even give you a price better than what a pawn shop will give you. I’ve noticed in last couple of years their prices have gone up. They don’t negotiate the prices, which puts customer at a disadvantage Because condition is a huge part in what you pay. I will still stop in and check their inventory. But not as often as I used to.
I had high hopes but just wasn’t impressed. Compared to the Aurora location, this store falls short.
The guitar area was decent with everything displayed nicely but the biggest disappointment was the amps. All the amps we’re covered in dust and we’re absolutely filthy compared to any other store I’ve been to. NONE of the amps were plugged into the power strips so you had to ask for all the cords and power cables just to try anything. That made trying to really test the sound of any guitar a nightmare.
The acoustic room was decent but everything good was locked up so one really couldn’t try much without assistance.
The keyboard section was ok but they definitely needed to be cleaned and at least plugged in for one to try.
The glass cases displaying pedals, audio interfaces, microphones and other accessories was good and decently organized.
All in all, it’s an ok store, but some serious attention needs to be paid to the presentation of all items, ESPECIALLY the guitar amps. All items need to be thoroughly cleaned and then put out on the floor with proper presentation with included power cables so every piece can be tested by the customer. No one wants to have to ask for all the missing pieces just to try something out.
Love the store !!Been going there for 15 years. New owner seems to be a straight forward Stand-up guy, they said to smash this guitar my guitar tech made it play beautifully
I implore all parents who are considering using this business for their child’s band or orchestra needs to re-consider and look at other options-and YES! there are other options! (this place works overtime to make you think otherwise!) This place will rip you off! I went with Kolancy’s for my 2nd child’s needs-they are more reputable and professional by far, and they actually care what condition their instruments are in when they leave the store!
No Scott, I won’t respond to you, I tried to have things rectified while at your store and you and your employees couldn’t have been any more dismissive or rude, but somehow now you care? Oh, I see, others can read this. Also, my bad experience happened at YOUR store Music go Round, not Music and Arts. I hope others read Joshua Fenner’s review as well since it perfectly captures what other parents and friends
have said they also endured as a customers over the years. I might have to drive farther for instrumental needs but it is well worth it!
Do not buy anything used. The warranty is only good for sore credit. They sell you something broken or on the edge of broken and then you can only get store credit. The staff is very friendly and helpful but the used products are poor quality and worthless. I lost $200 to this store. The USB midi port did not work at all, wouldn’t even turn on. The akai mpk-25 controller stopped working properly after one month. I took very good care of these items. I would not waste your time on this scamming “must-be struggling” establishment. Especially if you are serious about music.
Inquired about, and tested an amp, (The Roland Bolt-60) it wasn’t acting correctly so I mentioned it to them. It appears to have some grounding issues, making noise from filter capacitors most likely, as well as issues with the pots. I was still interested in it, however rather than correct their advertisement and pricing, or repair the amp, they told me to forget about it and that they wouldn’t be repairing it.
If this is how they handle broken products and continue to sell them in states of disrepair. This might serve as a good warning. I would worry about other products without completely testing it, and potentially having a second opinion.
