I had to buy a new phone and the customer service in electronics was exemplary. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and very quick to help me.
A lot of smoke in the area. But shopping was great.
Friendly staff, tends to have stuff I want!
They changed everything around….Can’t find anything…super annoying….So I left…
It’s a walmart that’s forsure.
Needs more /better variety in women’s clothes.
Its all we have …
Rude clerks. No body ever around for assistance. The restore store only!! Some times not even then
WORST customer service ever!!! They treat you like you’re criminal when you need to return anything EVEN WITH A VALID RECEIPT WITHIN A 7 DAY TIME SPAN!!! Said they couldn’t take merchandise from a store located in another state. Isn’t Walmart owned by Sam Walton industries? Not franchised? Why doesn’t Walmart honor the words they built their company on? They have seemed to forgotten customer is always right!!!??? I remember Walmart would honor all returns if only with a Walmart gift card it still was compensation. But not anymore in late July 22 I traveled to Utah to visit conduct business. While in Utah my vehicle began to go bad. It was my battery purchased at Walmart less than a year before. Still under warranty. After being stranded in the 115 degree temps with a dead battery for over 3 hours. I removed the still under warranty battery and took it back to Walmart in Taylorsville UT feeling confident Walmart would help a traveler. Wrong!!! Nope I took my now spitting out acid battery into the store went to automotive after standing in cust service 45 minutes to exchange it so j could be on my way. Nope. Now they must check it so they did some gauge test and said battery is fine. Mind you I had just taken it to AutoZone and their machine said no good. And AutoZone tested in my presence. Walmart took it to the back. They said it would take 3 to 6 hours to test it. Feeling defeated I bought a NEW BATTERY EXACTLY AS THE ONE I WAS TRYING TO EXCHANGE!!! AFTER I ARRIVED IN RENO I TOOK THE NEW BATTERY I JUST PURCHASED IN UTAH AND HAD A RECEIPT WITH CLEAR AND EXACT PRINTED WALMART RECEIPT. AND THE FOLKS IN BOTH CUSTOMER SERVICE AND AUTOMOTIVE DENIED MY REQUEST TO REFUND MY MONEY FOR A INFERIOR AT BEST BATTERY NEVER USED STILL HAS TAB ON POST RECEIPT IN HAND BATTERY!!! IF THERE WERE ANY OTHER STORE IN AMERICA I GUARANTEE YOU THAT’S WHERE I’D BE!!! WHAT HAPPENED TO “CUSTOMER SERVICE”? ALL I SEE IN WALMART WORKING ARE UNEDUCATED SCROUNGY DIRTY HAIRED GOSSIPING TALKING ON THE PHONE PLAYING ON PHONE KIDS THINKING THEY RULE THE WORLD AND HAVE NO TIME TO DO THEIR JOB!!!
Lots of people without masks entering Walmart.

4. Sherlock Music Shop
Address: 210 High St ste. C, Mt Shasta, CA 96067 , Lassen County , California , United States
We are lucky to have this guy in town. He really knows his stuff. Repaired a vintage sampler with new tact switches and cleaned it up nice, really went above and beyond on that project. He also fixed up my guitar with all new internals, new hardware, and polished up to look brand again, as well as setting up the action very nicely. He builds amps. He will make you instrument cables if you need a custom length. I’m very thankful I didn’t have to send my equipment out of town for repairs.
Owner is a bundle of information and is more than willing to share and help you with all your musical needs
Great selection of everything a musician needs.

Walked in, got just what I needed quickly, got helpful info from experienced individual, done!
Great store, knowledgeable owner
I was greeted immediately by Mike, with a smile! With great patience, he spent over an hour evaluating some very high end boutique music equipment for me. His knowledge is extensive in this industry and has a great attitude about sharing it with anyone willing to listen. 🙂
I look forward to doing business regularly with this business!
Thank you for your great service in our area. It was a pleasure meeting you.
Warm regards, Rachel
Real nice hometown music store
Tiny little shop. Nice owner though. Didn’t get much more than a tuner. Can’t really judge more.
I previously gave Soundcheck a great review but now I am not so sure. Yes, they guys are great there. But watch out for their prices. I was in a hurry last week and needed some basic acoustic strings. They charged me over $16. for the set and I didn’t think twice. But when I got home I realized they really should have been a lot les.
The MSRP on those strings is $6.99 Same price online or at most of the other local guitar shops.
So they charged me well over double for the same strings. I really want to support local business…but I am done with Sondcheck.
9. Margie’s Book Nook
Address: 722 Main St, Susanville, CA 96130 , Lassen County , California , United States
Stopped by during our travels. Phenomenal place. You could spend hours and days here. And!!!…has that old books smell. Loved it!
People are very helpful.
Great bookstore, Margie has a nice selection of new and used books, and she loves her young readers.
For a primarily used bookstore they’re the only place in town. Friendly service and they know everything going on locally, sell tickets and you even can pay your power bill.
Tons of great options to choose from. If they don’t have what you’re looking for, they will order it for you. Could stand to be a little more organized, but it’s understandable.
Lots of book. So many books, so little time
10. CR Stuff Thrift Shop
Address: 372 Alexander Ave, Susanville, CA 96130 , Lassen County , California , United States
I love to go to CR Stuff Thrift Store. I have found tons of fun little trinkets to furniture for my place. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Very awsome and polite .friendly.
Sweet stuff
Inexpensive items for sale. Dedicated, friendly staff. Money benefits people in the community.
I brought in several books on tape to donate and found several to buy. They have lots of paperback books on hand.

Great selection on used clothing and cooking utensils
On the main drag. Only take cash but they are friendly?
This was mine and my daughters first time here. Its a nice little store. To the person who bought the bear for my daughter, thank you so much! Your act of kindness brought tears to my eyes, it was a very nice gesture.
Nice place huge lots of items
Prices a little high on stuff in store but very clean…
Skip this place. Very rude owner.
To pricey found nothing
Overall un-welcome atmosphere. Person at the front desk was unnecessarily rude. You’re not missing anything by skipping this place.
12. Goodwill
Address: 2565 Main St, Susanville, CA 96130 , Lassen County , California , United States
Wonderful & courteous staff.
Very clean & maintained.
A few “high” prices surprised me while some “low” prices made a perfect deal.
Lovely items
Excellent deals
Alot of great stuff and nice employees
Most of the employees are really nice and always help me out if I need help. Love that theres a goodwill in town, hate that it closes at 6pm sometimes sooner. I dont get off work till 6 so anytime I want to go its already closed. Also weird that they started writing the prices on things with a white board marker and it doesn’t always come off. Overall friendly employees and I can understand if they are just short staffed.
I donate a ton of items here often. I wish they would offer some sort of coupon for people who donate items like other thrift stores that I’ve been to. But other than that I am a regular customer here with my family and we do shop often as well. Prices are okay. Not super cheap. Also, they never answer the phone from the phone number provided on the Google. The number needs to be updated or something because when you donate items and call the phone number on the back of the building door, it works.
It is clean and well taken care of, but the prices keep increasing. Every time I go in the prices are going up. They will also write directly on items and tags and in some cases that can’t come off. They have used Walmart clothes selling for more than retail. Dollar store items for $3-4+. I also have heard them talk in the back how many of the good items they get in go to the online goodwill store instead of staying in the community. Nearly everything I own is second hand so I want to go to this store because it is the cleanest one I’ve been to, but it’s not worth the prices typically.
To the employees you may want to change the hours on the this site.
They sell products from Dollar Tree for $2-$4. Ridiculous!
Bought my daughter a guitar for her bday, the guys there are very cool and great customer service, kudos too Mary Ellen as she’s owned foggy mountain alot of years,I consider a friend, great business
Very knowledgeable staff. Friendly and efficient
They have lots of instruments there. Reasonable prices friendly staff
Lots of quality products and good service
Very cool rustic music store with knowledgeable, friendly staff.
Bought a dulcimer hand made in Arkansas.
Yeah not too sure about that place I feel robbed every time I go in there, yeah of course there’s a lot of good stuff there but overall there wasn’t a chance for no stars they can have one I guess
Over priced
Owners are rude
15. Music Connection
Address: 3086 Bechelli Ln, Redding, CA 96002 , Lassen County , California , United States
I was blown away by how amazing the prices were for a mic stand. I had been searching everywhere and not wanting to go through amazon and for $25 what I got, i could resell for $60-$100 on amazon. The stabd us sturdy, heavy duty, and metal pretty much all the way.
I couldnt have found a better deal ANYWHERE.
It’s a nice clean store that carries quite a few items and the man behind the counter was really nice
Great Staff, Great prices, friendly and helpful highly recommend this place for all your music playing needs
Not a huge variety of guitars, maybe 20 guitars on the wall and most of them were similar models. Staff did not even acknowledge me during the 20 minutes I was in their building. Now being the only shop in town, it is time to step up their game.
Limited selection
Friendly and quick service to string my guitar.
The owner was very rude to me .Was completely unhelpful I’ll never go there again. He even insulted me
Wow how overpriced can you get? My wife bought me a used guitar here. The salesmen definitely took advantage of her lack of knowledge…
Don’t get a good vibe from the store.
16. Rhymes With Shallow Productions | Acoustic Guitar Music and Musician for Reno NV
Address: 11055 Longview Ln #9229, Reno, NV 89506 , Lassen County , California , United States
Extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff! These guys know their stuff! 100% impressed…
Always great
Great guy, very helpful & friendly!
Excellent knowledgeable staff and quality work.
Grand place. Has everything a musician might need. Dark and packed with vintage instruments it’s fun too look about in. Best place for school band instruments.
They closed 5minutes early so I wasn’t able to get inside.
I was totally ignored. People were in the building and I heard someone working behind the counter but I couldn’t see them. I rang the bell several times and even called out but I was completely ignored. I had money in my pocket ready to buy and left with nothing.
Very rude and does not support the military. My friend served in the Navy for 22 years and all he did was ask do you offer military discounts and the guy was super rude. Said everybody gets a discount. Doesn’t matter if you’re in the military. And it was the way he said it was so disrespectful. A Simple no would have been great. Most places offer one so he asked. Then treated him like dirt after that.
