I love this hardware store it is such a blessing to this community
Stopped in here last summer because I forgot a few items for my trip. Was pleasantly surprised at all this store had to offer! Definitely my new favorite spot in the Sierra’s!
My son and i go camp up the way and even if we brought everything we always make a stop here to check everything out. We Always find something we didn’t know we needed. The owner is super friendly as well. Thanks for being there.

Mary Ellen and her team are incredibly knowledgeable, courteous, and efficient and the shop is chock full of everything you need and if by chance it’s not they will get it for you. AND an added bonus is that she matches internet prices so shop locally everyone!
Wonderful music store with an amazing assortment of instruments and very knowledgeable sales staff. It’s almost a destination in itself, this old-time store, with instruments displayed all over the walls and shelves.
I appreciated their care and concern in helping me sell an instrument some years back.
Excellent service! Thnx
While it may seem like a bit of a hole-in-the-wall, the store offers a plethora of instruments and other musical paraphernalia. Music lessons also offered!
Foggy mountain is a good little mom & pop music store they have all your needs and wants and if the don’t they can order it , they give back to the community and I’m a firm believer that you should buy where you live so if I have musical needs I always start at Foggy Mountain I like the employees and the owners are good people . Worthy of a stop in and I’m sure you’ll return over and over
Great guitar lessons. Great deals, they price match guitar center too! My son got a gorgeous electric guitar for Christmas to upgrade from his child-sized Ibanez, and the customer service was great.
Absolutely terrible service. POOR selection of instrument strings (they never buy them) They’ve fired their most charismatic workers. The owner/”manager” will ignore you if she’s on the phone. Had an amp in there for six months that was more broken when I got it back, than when I brought it in, due to their “guitar tech” Steve. Worst music store in North California, if I could give zero stars I would.
Drove there on Sunday, as Google said they were open. They were not.
Owners are rude
3. La Cocina de Oro Taqueria
Address: 322 Main St, Downieville, CA 95936 , Downieville , California , United States
Great food that tastes authentic, was exactly what we were looking for after a day at the lake
Incredible customer service! I came in and ordered 4 burritos to go for my riding buddies after a very cold and very late Downieville DH ride. We had snow, rain, and then hail, and my fingers were frozen. Without my asking, they immediately gave me a hot towel and escorted me to the bathroom to run my hands under warm water. When I came back, they gave me hot tea. Nobody cared about the mud I tracked in, they just wanted to make sure I was warm. The burritos were gigantic and wonderful and exactly what we all needed after a long, cold ride.
The burritos and quesadillas are very delicious here. Please consider going if you want top quality Mexican food.
Ordered a burrito, and it was very good. You could taste that fresh vegetables were used. The facilities are small but so are all the other spots in town. Great little restaurant.
Good food good service and if is not too hot, dining on the river is great
There’s not a lot of choice when you want to dine in Downieville, but even if there was, I’d go to this place. They buy their food from local small farms and make everything fresh, it’s really delicious. And the seating outdoors next to the river either on the patio or the deck, is really first class! Every time a memorable time there. The service is good too!
The only thing super about the burrito was the super long wait time. Lots of lettuce, very little meat, and fairly expensive.
Ordered a spicy carnitas burrito, got a burrito that apparently had neither carnitas nor spice. Maybe an order mix-up, but not a great experience, especially for $16. May eventually give them another try, but I’m in no hurry to go back.
I’m pretty low maintenance but this was the worst burrito in my 53 years. I felt nauseous and my buddy who got the same thing has been puking from food poisoning for 24 hours now

Five stars for the big fluff doggooo that was in the store. We are friends now.
Lifesaver! Knowledgeable and local!
Well appointed for all kinds of musicians at all levels
Looks real nice from the outside (didn’t get a chance to go inside). It sells music instruments. Saw some nice ukeleles from the window. It has a rock music school also. And i think the owner has a nice looking fluffy big dog
Local Store can save me time and support is always right here in Town!

Had my guitar worked on here. Very surprised with the level of service and pricing. Hidden gem of El Dorado Hills for sure!
Wonderful experience, very friendly and helpful staff. They have a lot of knowledge of music and hardware!! A lot of really nice Quality instruments.
I highly recommend you stop in and take a look around. They have a staff of music teachers as well, available to teach many types of instruments.
Good staff, nice atmosphere… enjoyed my conversation with everyone in the store. 🙂
Their music selection was a bit small but they had everything I needed at a very reasonable cost.
Did not have a kazoo
The line was crazy long and they were extremely under staffed.
7. Spiritual Alignment
Address: 23581 CA-49, Downieville, CA 95936 , Downieville , California , United States
Such a warm and inviting center. It is small in space but efficient for the needs of local practitioners. I truly look forward to making this my new home for yoga and meditation! As for the 1-star review, the front door is locked in the early morning and late evening hours, but there was definitely a sign posted that said to go to the back door (to which I was promptly welcomed in and had a great session!)
Shakti is truly an amazing and authentic person to work with. I recently took one of her master classes, and it was a great experience! She has a deep level of knowledge in the subject matter and I would highly recommend her to anyone seeking more clarity and zen in life.
I was introduced to Shakti by a mutual friend who insisted I try meditation. Historically, I did not find meditation helpful and actually found it frustrating more than anything. That changed when I met Shakti
Shakti is a warm, comforting, nonjudgemental presence who is welcoming, encouraging, and genuinely invested in the lives and wellbeing of her clients and friends. While I was nervous to attend the full-moon meditation, I found myself able to shake the anxiety almost immediately. Shakti eases the group into the meditation with a genuine interest in everyone’s state of mind and plenty of encouragement. She has an incredibly soothing voice and excellent selection of music that really helps you focus on getting the most out of your meditation together. She prioritizes comfort and emphasizes that meditation and spirituality are everyone’s individual journey, which went a long way in helping me shed my self judgement. Since my first attendance, I have never missed a full-moon mediation. I look forward to it every month and have not only learned a lot about myself, but have genuinely felt more in touch with myself than ever before. As someone who struggles with depression and anxiety, I can attest with confidence that the learnings I’ve taken from Shakti have helped me become a healthier, happier, self-assured person.
Because of my positive experiences in group events with Shakti, I also booked a 1:1 session with her and was blown away by her ability to to draw out deep-seated pain and help me heal it. Our session was so powerful, I still revisit the recording she so graciously provided me. I even introduced my mom to Shakti, who spent months working together 1:1 to work through multiple life traumas.
Shakti is a deeply patient, deeply empathetic person. I consider her a friend, a teacher, and a confidant. I am so deeply grateful to have met her and my life is infinitely better off for having her in it, both as a friend and as a spiritual adviser. I cannot recommend her and Spiritual Alignment’s offerings highly enough.
I used to live in Redwood City and LOVED Studio Rincon so when I moved to Foster City and had to find another studio, I was scared…but I heard Prajna had a good vibe so I wanted to check it out. They had a deal for ten classes for $45, which is pretty amazing!
It’s a very peaceful studio, which I like. I checked out a few classes and I really like Christine Salah’s basic Hatha Yoga class on Monday afternoons. I also tried the Tuesday evening Kundalini yoga but it wasn’t my style of yoga, though the instructor is very sweet! I also tried the Thursday night Ashtanga-Vinyasa class. The studio is near the train tracks so especially at night, the train is loud but during the daytime classes, it isn’t a big deal.
Overall, it’s a nice, relaxing, and clean studio but my only real issue with Prajna is the timing of their evening classes. As a teacher, I wanna go to yoga right after school so I can come back home for cooking and grading. Prajna’s evening classes are at 6pm and 7:30pm, which are both really late for me. These timings may work great for others but not for me, sadly, which is why I was only able to go three classes before my ten class deal expired.
So I’m still looking for another yoga studio but if I do venture back to Prajna, I’ll be sure to check out Nicole’s Thursday morning classes; she’s amazing at Rincon and I’m sure she’s amazing at Prajna as well 😉
Thank you, Prajna!
My mom mentioned I should check out this place because I do yoga pretty much everyday. I usually go to a studio in a different city and they open a 1/2 hour before the class so you can sign in and place your mat down. I saw online they have a sunrise 7:00 class so I thought I would come check it out. I got there at 6:30 and looked at the front door even shows on the calendar there is a 7:00am class everyday but no one showed up. Just wasted 1/2 a hour waiting for class that never happened. Should have just did a morning run or different studio. If a studio has a class online and on the paper calendar on the front door they should have that class. Waste of what little time I had. Being a single father was looking forward to a flow that never happened. Yogi bummer
I would give it a Complete 0!!! ⭐️’s if I could!.
Stay far! away from places like this and metaphysical stores, New age, Yoga, crystals etc., you are opening windows for demons and invinting them in!. Don’t be deceived!!! GO SEEK TRUTH YOURSELF!!
