this place is awesome. Super friendly staff. If you need a guitar set up or repaired they also do that for super cheap and great work.
They have great advice, and amazing adtitude. Theu have camo capos!!!!!!~keelie
Excellent music store.
Great inventory and excellent friendly service from a fellow named Ken. Very knowledgeable
Great local guitar store. Eric does a great job running this store.
Great sales,super repair work!
The people are nice but the stuff you buy here is garbage.
I went in yesterday and asked about a Gretch open back banjo on the back wall that didn’t have a price tag. The reply I got from the bearded gent behind the counter was ” I don’t know, probably $300 or something”, and then he walked away like I didn’t exist. The vibe I got from him was “I dont want to help you. I won’t help you”. I buy a LOT of instruments and spend thousands of dollars per year on all sorts of music equipment, but this store has shown me that they don’t want my business and they aren’t interested in having any sort of customer care. I didn’t want to go to Guitar Center anymore, I would like to buy from a local store, but Guitars and More has discouraged me from doing any business with them. My advice to other customers is to go elsewhere. They don’t want your business and they don’t deserve your business.
3. Innovative Music Concepts
Address: 233 Garden Dr, Gardendale, AL 35071 , Fultondale , Alabama , United States
Hate this place! One line open with a cashier and a couple of self service kiosks were out of service and no one seemed to care that it was taking customers forever to check out.
Inventory on the website at this location is never accurate. The website will say they have 5 to 10 of an item in stock and then once an order is placed they are “out of stock”. Idk if maybe the shopper just can’t find an item in store or inventory is just not accurately listed. This happens every time I’d rather drive 30 minutes across town
5. Books-A-Million
Address: 3429 Lowery Pkwy, Fultondale, AL 35068 , Fultondale , Alabama , United States
Just hanging out with my daughter and got a few books.
I love Books-A-Million!
Very Friendly and Welcoming ❤️ Absolutely Love That They Have Joe Muggs Inside. Best Smoothies and Pumpkin Spice Lattes EVERRR
Very nice visit
Love their Harry Potter section
This was a pretty good BAM! It had a fair selection of books here. Staff was nice and helpful.
Fulondale Al BAM should remove curbside from this location. It never happened. I made several calls, they never answered. I had to go inside where the employees were not busy. Customers were in the store without mask during COVID-19. Don’t offer what you cannot deliver!
Coffee was horrible and cashier was mouthy
Management hires these kids and doesn’t train them in customer service or manners.
6. 4:19 Vinyl, Blanks and Embroidery – Fultondale
Address: 1727 Decatur Hwy, Fultondale, AL 35068 , Fultondale , Alabama , United States
The staff is friendly and helpful. Large supply of vinyl.
Great staff and a large variety of product.
We got some great new work shirts from these guys and they worked with us every step of the way. SUPER satisfied with the results and the price was much better than I assumed it would be. I will absolutely be using them again in the future. Thanks yall!
I ordered 2 shirts online and picked them up in the store this morning. July 18th. Very soft fabric. Cool looking shirts. Bought shirts for fund raiser. North Jefferson K9 unit. Canine Nose Work Event. They were both grey v-neck tees. First time buyer. Will check out what they have in store. Thank you. Attached pics of the shirts.
Email Ordering is Absolutely Horrible and needs to be improved drastically. This is 3rd time I’ve had to delay an order because the one person who does them prints is obviously part time and bias when present. Went to the store and wasn’t greeted by front staff the entire time. Friendship isn’t required on business but customer service should be friendly. I would much rather drive to Warrior.
*Customer service/communication needs A LOT of attention & improvement!
*Overall how a customer is treated & SPOKEN too needs improvement!
*When a custom T-shirt order is taken(only ONE employee should be the one who handles it not THREE employees trading out and getting things confused and re writing the order form)! These ladies need more Training/knowledge instead of asking one woman everything.
My order was taken on Tues 5/18 and I asked the first woman if it could be ready by Friday 5/21 she said yes then I said Monday 5/24 at the latest she said yes… I sent an email asking if my order was complete Sunday 5/23 b/c I had not received anything and then I received an email response on 5/24 at noon time asking “when did I need my order by? a specific date?”
*When the employee fails to write a due date on the form and the customer signs off on the form anyways…in NO way shape or form should the customer be blamed(I was told to me face that is was my fault I didn’t double check that the due date line was blank and all I had to do was respond to the email sent on the day it was suppose to be done by).
*A refund was refused b/c it’s small business…my only option was a store credit or blank shirts or they can have my order ready by 6pm(closing time)… I am irate and have never received such poor customer service and no human decency. I worked in this same field of work for almost 2 years and I never treated someone this way… I would never.. all I did was walk up to the counter and ask for a refund b/c my order was not complete yet..
Well I guess 3rd times a charm right…. Today was the 3rd time I have been in the store. Today’s experience was no different than the last 2. HORRIBLE customer service. I needed a poly blend shirt. Walked around trying to find what I needed no one was eager to ask if I needed help. Cool. So when I asked about a particular shirt I was met with an unprofessional response “yeah” with a not so pleasant facial expression. Needless to say I won’t be back.
7. Alabama’s Finest™ Mastering Studio
Address: 2618 Walker Chapel Rd, Fultondale, AL 35068 , Fultondale , Alabama , United States
The service was slow today but the employees at the window made it better, they were super friendly and apologized for the wait. My food was hot when received. The fact that they didn’t charge for sauce when I asked was a plus.
Easy to get to
Late night snack after arriving at the airport from a seven day trip. Drive through was busy but got served reasonably timely. One order of fries was fresh out of the fryer. The bottom of the other order was not so fresh but still edible. 30 – 45 minutes before closing time we were just happy to get a bite to eat and we appreciated the service. Will return if the opportunity presents itself.
This McDonald’s is a joke they never open up on time and no matter what they dont seem to answer to no one when you complain……
Drive through very slow. Took 15 minutes to get food
My food was code asked for no onions as I am allergic got a burger full though! 11$ wasted cause we just threw it away!
Should be good if everything is $5 good store everything wasn’t $5
Always love coming back, never no problems..
Not much value I could see
I wish that there was more *below* but there’s a lot of variety. Tons of books, accessories, great gifts on a budget and patty supplies.
exelente tienda super variedad m encantaron los presios mi amaca solo me costó $5
I have no clue how it is I was in a car.
Not what I expected
I am not impress with the products, at all. BUT IF YOU NEED CHEAP THIS ISN’T HE PLACE TO GO. They have quite a selection and for $5.00 or less how can anyone do better.
14. Highland Music
Address: 3000 Clairmont Ave, Birmingham, AL 35205 , Fultondale , Alabama , United States
Great local shop with an awesome selection of used gear. Great place to look for local Bham builders like Southside Custom Guitars or Samamp.
One of the best shops I’ve been in gave us free shirts and let us jam. Highly recommend
Vibey little shop. Some cool vintage gear.
Prices depend on who is working that day.$10.00/$6.95 for percussion sticks.
Hard to imagine this town without Highland Music. It seems like it’s been here forever, and it impresses on so many levels. Need a tech? See Harold. Need a custom-built amp or guitar? They can fix you up here. Want a new Fender or Gibson? They have that. Need lightly used gear? It abounds here. Strings, parts, accessories…all the stuff you need, they have. This is THE place traveling musicians stop by when they are in town, and there’s a reason for that. You should shop there, too.
About what you’d expect. Pretentious, unhelpful, and offended that you’d dare shop in their overpriced thrift store. But they’ve been in business forever and they ain’t changing.
Pretentious and overpriced….typical music store snobbery
I’ve worked with several music stores throughout the state of Alabama- both as a personal musician & as a music director in the schools- & my experience with Art’s Music has been professional, helpful, & quick. Their service is wonderful, & they are knowledgeable in many school band & orchestra areas. I highly recommend using them for your instrument needs.
We aren’t musicians, and they didn’t run us out when my wife put her lack of talent on display when she strummed the banjo. For that, I give them 5 stars.
Ask for Ron or Linda or anyone!!!!
changed to 4 stars because service isn’t as good as it used to be. It is now only ok. Was also very expensive.
Very helpful and friendly
Good. place to shop for all your. music. needs.
No se los recomiendo, es mejor comprar en online
Be a good place for a music shop that sales and buy instruments but they can’t do anything but sale with out the manager so if u need to sale something don’t go here
Very overpriced! I understand small business vs online shopping and major companies, but come on!
19. Homewood Musical Instrument Co
Address: 1712 28th Ave S, Homewood, AL 35209 , Fultondale , Alabama , United States
Friendly people who really enjoy working with stringed instruments.
The best luthier in Bham. Expect a wait but it’s definitely worth it.
Very friendly staff, excellent workmanship!
Friendly atmosphere and lots of instruments.
Good product, Good service.
I’ve never dealt with someone so rude over the phone. The owner tried to guilt me with sarcasm and acted like victim when I questioned a price. Full story: I asked to order a cello string. All was going well (owner answered questions about speed of shipping and availability of the string), but then he quoted a price ($81) that was far above what other shops charge. I said respectfully that “I’ve purchased the string for $45 at other walk-in shops” and he became sarcastic and argumentative with me, claiming he was “holding my hand” through the process, and said “Well, I have to pay $35 for this string so what do YOU think is fair for ME to make? $15? What is 35 + 15, huh? Ohhh, maybe $50 is more than you can afford?” A simple, “well this is my price” would have been fine as a response from him, but I felt disrespected so I hung up and decided I’m never going to spend a dime Homewood Musical Instrument Co. I advise everyone else to steer clear of this shop and the guy who owns it.
20. Bailey Brothers Music Company
Address: 4673 US-280 Suite # 7, Birmingham, AL 35242 , Fultondale , Alabama , United States
Amazing selection. Employees were really helpful in finding the right guitar for me.
Awesome store and great customer service.
WOW.. being from out of state and working in Birmingham I enjoy seeing new music stores and Bailey Brothers in one of the best in the country for sure. An amazing assortment of instruments and amps from the highest level to beginner.. no other place like it.. and the staff is fantastic!! friendly and knowledgeable.. unreal.. I purchased a few needs but will be back for sure.. cant say enough good things about this place.. !!! (great used gear as well!!)
Great customer service. Great selection. However, I was NOT thrilled to see their logo custom printed onto the snare head I bought. Would have received 5 stars if not for that. Going to remove it with some acetone.
Helpful and kind! Will be back to see them soon.
I needed to buy instruments for my Middle School kids. They were very upfront with their prices and seemed to have the best deals.
Recently brought a used instrument to these guys to be cleaned and conditioned. They charged $230 and I’m not really sure what they did beyond $40 worth of repairing. I even priced the individual parts myself and they cost a total of $23. The instrument was very dirty and they didn’t even do a good or complete job of wiping it down. We didn’t get any paperwork explicitly stating what they were going to do so we can’t really argue the point. The inside of the instrument wasn’t even touched during cleaning because there is obvious dust and grime that was there when we gave it to these guys.
We also bought a mouthpiece for the instrument, I previously priced it at $10 online and it was $35 at this place. An outrageous markup.
All of this was after agreeing to a monthly payment for an instrument only to be informed the day before it was needed that they didn’t have any in stock so we had to scramble to find a different option. Because of this, they also didn’t send us a cleaning kit for the instrument that had been fully paid for.
I will be looking for another place for any other instrument needs.
I left my guitar with this store in February 2012 for a simple repair. In June it was still hanging waiting for them to repair. I had been told on multiple occasions that it would be ready in just a few days. I picked it up today June 24, 2012 and no repair has been done and I was still charged a bench fee. This place sucks. I will never go in there again. Good luck if you do.
