Haven’t been in the area for a while, went looking for “Something Simple” and found something new lol, Flour Girl. Not sure if it’s always this busy (it was Father’s Day) but there was a large crowd on the café side so we went to the bakery side and bought two blueberry muffins to go, and couldn’t resist buying a brownie and chocolate chip cookie for later. All were delicious, I can see why it drew such a crowd! The muffin was moist and airy with plenty of blueberries throughout and delicious crumb topping, so good! The cookie and brownie were equally fantastic. We will definitely return, surely Flour Girl will be here for years to come : )
Sweet cafe with delicious food. A perfect spot to meet a friend for coffee or lunch. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. If you haven’t been you must stop in.
Cute place! Great menu!
Cute little lunch spot, good food.
Very good food but a little bit expensive
Good food…overpriced…bummer
My first time. Ordered tuna melt. It smelled horrible. I took home and tried again. It stunk so bad I put it in the trash and put out on the deck before I threw up.
Tried 4 times now. Just overpriced small portions that just dont have enough flavor. $12 for a roast beef sandwich, no sides. You get chips when you dine in, but nothing with takeout?
only reason it gets 2 stars is because the food taste good. I paid 26 dollars for two sandwiches, and a bottle soda. I received chips and a pickle though so add that in.
There’s a BBQ place around here where you get a decent sized bowl for 17 dollars, 3 more than their boss sandwich and you won’t be left starving. the portions are way over priced and I gave this shop two chances, one for breakfast and one for dinner. I will NOT be coming back.
here are the pictures of the sizes of the sandwich. highly disappointed it cost me this much money for this much food.
Comes up for violin lessons, but they no longer have a strings instructor. I asked them to call me about other places I could go to and they never did. Not good for violin lessons of course, but taking piano was fun.
7. Avery’s Music
Address: 14 Edgerton St, East Hampton, CT 06424 , Hebron , Connecticut , United States
The friendly staff greet you when you enter, I like that. There are several flavors of frozen yogurt and gelato to choose from and too many toppings to list! At Christmas, the outside is decorated with all sorts of lights that you can see flashing from the center of town! Very fun!
Nice frozen yogurt spot. Kind service
Great place, not crazy expensive. We go once a month or so.
Provides extremely good frozen yogurt and plenty of toppings to choose from but is extremely expensive.
Love this place
Fun place to create your own ice cream masterpiece. Price is per ounce so if you fill up your cup it can get expensive! Indoor and outdoor seating. Icecream, frozen yogurt, sorbet and gelato options. So dairy free friendly. Fresh toppings available as well as lots of sprinkles, chocolate and othet fun candy toppings. Whipped cream and cherries also available, even chocolate whipped cream.
4 stars instead of 5 because I feel it is too expensive. I’d visit more if it costed a little less.
It was advertised as open, but I stopped by around 5 pm, and it was closed.

Fantastic service, fast shipping, and competitive pricing.
Finally got to visit after doing some business over the phone 18 years ago with Pete. Great inventory, selection and people. One of the very best examples of why we need to support local businesses and how great a family can run them!
Prompt and professional! Recently purchased an SBMM Majesty guitar online and it came in perfect condition with Dubaldo only upgrades, Will definitely recommend them and will be making more purchases in the future. Thanks Dubaldo team!!
Great service
11. The Music Score LLC
Address: 2315 Silas Deane Hwy, Rocky Hill, CT 06067 , Hebron , Connecticut , United States
Really great place to stop by and get an instrument. The prices seem a bit higher but the quality is surely within the quality you’d expect.
I bought a ukulele here and the quality and sound lived up to the price.
The Music Score is now at 2315 and under new management. The store offers lessons for all instruments (including vocal), rentals and purchases on all instruments (including pianos.) The Music Score includes workshops and classes, like Music Together for toddlers, Music Fun Time for small children, and more. Jazz Band is held on Wednesday nights, Open Mic every last Friday. Other fun times are held, like Karaoke, Music Movie night, and Game night. Events are held about four times a year like The Frozen Spring Thaw, Open Houses, Christmas parties, recitals, new years for kids, and more. This store has a little of everything and caters to people from newborns to senior citizens. When you walk in the door you are part of the family and the teachers, associates, and owners take pride in caring and educating. A true mom and pop shop who are part of the community and helping it grow.
Gil is a super friendly guy! My son really enjoys guitar lessons with him!
My daughter is signed up for lessons and her teacher is great (I hear the others are as well). Just try not to deal with the guy that owns it.
Very knowledgeable and friendly.
Arrived at 10:00am (they open at 10am, but not today). I waited and they finally arrived. All I needed was guitar strings, but they had none. What a waste of time.
I tried to return my daughter’s Viola due to the school no longer providing classes. It was a total nightmare to get an answer in regards to my credit. They are very irresponsible and I am very disappointed by the lack of care towards my return which was even misplaced! Mom and dad are not helpful at all and he should really look at keeping them home, they make things worse!

Ryan is amazing, he is nice and friendly. Ryan is very responsive and helpful, I need the piano to delivery to my house in short noticed and Ryan made it happened in the same day. Ryan extremely talents and he knows so much about piano, he gave a great tuning and his price is affordable. I’m very happy to do business with Ryan and please to meet him. Overall extremely happy, thanks Ryan.
Ryan was very friendly and an expert in helping us pick out a piano. He was able to restore, service, and deliver our piano for an incredibly affordable price. I would recommend him to anyone. Honest and great guy to work with.
Ryan is very helpful and extremely knowledgeable. There are a lot of free pianos out there on the internet but you don’t know what your getting.
With Ryan, the piano is tuned, delivered and restored to its top quality and its all included in the price. We are just starting off with my daughter and he helped us find the perfect piano for her.
13. Rayburn Music
Address: 22B Andover Dr, West Hartford, CT 06110 , Hebron , Connecticut , United States
Excellent Quality of both service and instruments.
Very helpful.
Very friendly fast and efficient service! I love shopping local
Fast and friendly service
trying to reach the store for the past 5 months. they are not responding to email or phone call. The phone service is also disconnected now.
we are left with no response and no refund.
We rented a viola from Rayburn. The first viola wasn’t put together right (something to do with the bridge). after switching to another viola we realized the bow doesn’t quite fit with the viola.
we rented from the music store in the center and it was a great experience but pricier. though Rayburn isn’t cheap either
they will be replacing the viola once more, lets see how it goes this time…
STAY AWAY from this company! I rented a cello early 2019. We returned the cello in Aug 2019 and are still getting billed for it! I’ve called and left messages since no one picks up the phone in the Milford office where I rented and returned the instrument. No call back and monthly payments for the cello are still getting charged off my bank card. Had to file a complaint with my bank to stop payments. Terrible terrible business practice!
14. Statewide Recorders
Address: 46A Brewer Street, East Hartford, CT 06118 , Hebron , Connecticut , United States
Got the book I was looking for and awesome customer service!
Great service
Nice guy and great service so far!
It’s okay.
My grandma brought two ukuleles here to be repaired before she passed away. They were from the 1940s and held a lot of sentimental value for me, as they were the first instrument I ever learned to play on. After she passed away, a family member went to retrieve them and the store conveniently had “no record” of them. Scammers and low lifes.
Not bad.
Rented a violin during 2012/2013 school year. Throughout the school year violin needed numerous repairs, therefore, I did not rent from them the following school year. Low and behold as reviewing my bank statements I noted a monthly charge from them. Upon calling and speaking with “Joe” I was told that even though the violin was never returned to me after the last repair, I did not officially return the violin. and the charges can not be or won’t be refunded. Duly note that the violin is and has been with them since June of 2013 and the owner acknowledged this fact. I now know why they were not listed as a rental place by the school system. I would never buy from them again or refer any business their way.
16. Middlesex Music Academy
Address: 440 Main St, Middletown, CT 06457 , Hebron , Connecticut , United States
Yesterday we went in to rent an instrument for my 4th grader starting band and I can’t speak enough on how smooth and easy the process was! When we walked in we were greeted by Jim, who immediately knew everything we needed and even our band teacher by name (impressive!). Our son can tend to be a bit shy but the charm of this place seemed to make him feel right at home! If I had to I would say the whole interaction took all of about 10 minutes and we were on our way. Definitely recommending this place to anyone I know looking for help with an instrument, thanks again!
Very nice place.
My husband has taken music lessons at MMA for awhile now, and is very pleased with the instructor. He has also brought several instruments there for repairs or to evaluate for purchase, and has been really pleased with the owner, Matt, who does the repairs. Matt is very knowledgeable & thorough, and is a great help to determine whether instruments on eBay or craigslist are truly worth it. His repair rates have been extremely reasonable too, and he’s even made some repairs for free just because my husband is a student there. All in all, we highly recommend Matt and MMA.
The sales team made it possible for me to afford a piano for my son
I signed up for a piano lesson trial online. Their site is very confusing and it’s not clear if the lesson is in-person and online. I called them, left a message but they never called me back. In the day/time of the lesson, I called them 3 times because I was having problems to contact the teacher. The guy who works there, Jim, clearly doesn’t have any customer service skills. He was rude and unpleasant. He didn’t make any effort to help me, told me a was confused and nobody else had problems. I just canceled the future lessons there. It’s easier just hire a private piano teacher. Hopefully I will never have to deal with this guy again.
I paid $80 for a setup on a guitar and got it back with the strings a mile off of the neck and the floyd rose studs so high out of the body I could park a car under it. The bridge pickup was raised until it was practically touching the strings and the neck pickup was lowered to below the pickup ring. The tech then told me that 10-52 strings don’t exist. They’re light top heavy bottom and aren’t even uncommon strings. Every time I go there they give bad advice and clearly don’t know what they’re talking about. My friend tried to buy a tubescreamer (basic overdrive) and they tried to sell him a phaser instead (completely different thing).
I would give Middlesex Music Academy a 0 if I was able to. I called to inquire about a $150 charge when I haven‘t been confirmed by John the guitar teacher. I made a request to Matt that Tuesday was my preference but John was booked so he scheduled Thursday at 6pm. I received a text and email from John yesterday that he had a conflict for Thursday and offered Friday. I responded via text/email that would not work and inquired if this was temporary or permanent to which I did not receive a response. I let John know this may not be a good fit then. I called today to have the charge refunded and Jim proceeded to call me names, saying I was yelling & screaming over the phone and I was being rude. No need to go into the dramatics but Jim needs a lesson in manners, telling the truth and understanding that being a manager does not give him the authority to behave poorly. Never once did I raise my voice but did correct Jim several times throughout the conversation all because i asked for a refund. Extremely unprofessional and a bad look for Middlesex Music all around. I will be taking my business elsewhere. Inexcusable & theater worthy performance by Jim today folks!!!
17. Piano Arts
Address: 642 Hilliard St, Manchester, CT 06042 , Hebron , Connecticut , United States
Bill = Piano Arts. He knows the instrument inside and out, and inside-out. He thinks outside the box, as well as inside. He did wonders for my old Studio piano, and when I was finally ready to upgrade — I bought my first Grand from Bill. I continue to trust him and turn to him for “all things piano” and highly recommend him.
Very knowledgeable and great service
Bill Pelto does fantastic work at a fair price. He is finishing up work on my second piano, and I am very pleased with the progress.
18. The Werner Piano, Organ & Vocal Studio
Address: 60 Teresa Rd, Manchester, CT 06040 , Hebron , Connecticut , United States
The staff were friendly and were very helpful in obtaining for us an oboe at short notice. This is not as easy as obtaining, say, a guitar, a keyboard, or even a flute or clarinet.
I went to the East Hartford Music & Arts store upon the recommendation of a music teacher. Was in need of a saxophone repair to an antique student-level model. I decided to buy a beautiful entry-level professional model saxophone. The sales person was very knowledgeable, courteous, and friendly. Quite impressed, and I absolutely love and enjoy my beautiful saxophone.
Great service and great people. Over the last few months I was looking for a new trombone, and had a lot of technical/financial stuff to look into and take care of. Speaking with four people, including the manager, they helped me find a great trombone and were super kind to me about helping me out and financing it. Go here! You won’t regret it.
Cool place, very expensive
Good selection and price
I went to the store 7:45 pm because I need to rent an instrument. I’ve been waiting because the employee was helping another customer. Then, when it was my turn he said : I can’t help you because we close at 8 come back tomorrow. While I was waiting I saw another employee he just looking at us and he didn’t of help us.The worst customer service I ever experienced.
This store was not respectful of my time or my commitment, and I cannot recommend this business to others. As busy professional with children making the commitment to return to regular practice was a significant dedication of my time. After discussions with the staff at the store we found a time and an instructor who would work for me, and with my schedule. At my first lesson the instructor was surprised to see me (although my name was on his list) and I said “I didn’t know a new student was starting today.” and “I don’t really play Bass that much…”. After a lackluster lesson which I was willing to write off as a miscommunication, I returned a week later only to find that the instructor had scheduled over my time with a different student. The staff confirmed I was on the schedule for the day. I promptly asked for my money back, including the new student fee. The manager kindly returned it, but that was the ONLY redeeming thing about my experience. All in all, this wasted about 2 hours of my life.
I had been taking lessons at this location since March 2019. One of their instructors stopped teaching in June 2019 and took the summer months off. The store called me in August to say the instructor was not returning in the Fall and my account would be closed but if I wanted to begin with a new instructor I could. To my surprise upon starting with the new instructor, my account incurred a new student fee of $30 which is out of order since I am a continuing student; I asked the store to provide a credit and they recently did so. The new student fee is inappropriate due to no fault of mine.
20. Upbeat Music Lessons
Address: 26 Brent Dr, Vernon, CT 06066 , Hebron , Connecticut , United States
In order to truly learn music, it has to be fun. Numan Senman of “Upbeat Music” creates fun lesson plans that are easy to follow, and he individualizes his plans per each student’s level of play and experience. Of course, you have to put in the time in order to play any instrument. With Mr. Senman’s teaching experience the learning is definitely easy. Mr. Senman’s fee is affordable.
While I have music experience in the past, I really needed an instructor who was musically versatile. I played many instruments in High School and College and wanted to find 1 teacher that I could work on all my music skills with, instead of having to hire multiple teachers. Mr. Senman is a musical genius. He plays multiple instruments and knows his music theory. You will not be disappointed if you decide to enroll for music lessons with Mr. Senman.
