Intimate atmosphere, but if it’s raining, the roof leaks and all the floors get wet.
Nice venue. Nothing super fancy, but big. Air conditioned. Handicap access is limited but possible with some planning. Parking lot is expanse. Easy to enter and leave.
Great little place for a concert.
Absolutely hate the pew seating . Too many people on each row . You are packed in so close to each other that you seriously can not move . If they take 2 seats off each row, people would enjoy the concert more . I had friends that were in able to sit on the row where there tickets were because there was no room to sit . The rows have to MANY PEOPLE.
Old Crow Medicine Show was amazing. Our seats were great but there really isn’t a bad seat in the place. However would not recommend this venue for anyone who goes to a concert to dance and enjoy the band. 99% of the audience sat motionless all night and anytime we would get up to dance an usher from the Lyon’s Club would ask us to sit down. I had friends go to back just so they could stand up, dance, and enjoy theirselves and even in the back were asked 4 times to sit down. That is not what I pay money for when going to see live music, especially a band such as this that has such energy. They asked the crowd multiples times to get up and dance with them. I felt bad for them and can’t imagine that they will be back to this venue again. As neither will I.
A unique venue. Corner stage. Large doors are open to the outside letting the breeze in. Unfortunately, they also let the cigarette smoke in. There is a line about 5 ft out from the large open doors. From the line out, smokers can stand there through the whole event smoking. The wind blows it in, as though they’re smoking in the building. I thought those days were over. Would love to go back, but can’t due to the smoke. Hope they change to a totally nonsmoking facility. It shouldn’t be allowed anywhere close to the building. Gave 2 stars because the tickets were reasonable and the people were nice.
My wife and I went to the Anderson music hall at thr Hiawassee fairgrounds to see Travis Tritt and he and his daughter were great (However) that music hall was not.
The seats are way too small but worse, we were not able to enjoy the concert because smoke floods in the building from the smokers outside.
Who ever designed and designated the smoking area was either a smoker or an IDIOT because the line for the smoking area is drawn 3 feet from the doors which stay open and the smoke blows in the building and you feel like you are in an old bar from the 70’s and you can’t breath!!!
I love the beautiful area and the artist who come there to perform are great but please give us a smoke free building so everyone can enjoy the shows!
Sorry but we will not come back unless this is changed!!! ☹️
4. Dollar General
Address: 500 N Main St, Hiawassee, GA 30546 , Hiawassee , Georgia , United States
Store is clean, well-stocked, with a very helpful and friendly staff.
Great people, typical Dollars Store merchandise available.
Not one of the cleanest and organised Dollar General there is.
Got want l went after in and out quickly.
It has most of what we needed
Terrible service, the had a sale clearly marked 12 oz. Package of hotdogs for $1.00, up on checking out the price was $2.50. After speaking with the manager she refused to match the sale price. I will no longer be shopping at any Dollar General.
The sales lady was very nice. She helped me pick out some things that I was looking for. But when she had to call the manager up there because she made a mistake the manager had the hateful look on her face and was real mean and just shove the key in the register like she hated her life. I don’t know what in the world is wrong with her, but she needs a new job.
Very little organization
5. Bacchus On The Lake
Address: 355 N Main St, Hiawassee, GA 30546 , Hiawassee , Georgia , United States
Killer staff, spent far more time than intended here. Definitely somewhere to visit in Hiawassee.
Best Wine and Beer selection. And great Cigars! Loved the great live music too.
Very knowledgeable and detailed stores with awesome choices for our tastes.
Great selection of beers (best in area) but should probably focus a bit more on local breweries. All in all, this will be my go-to spot for beer while in area.
Great little place. Just a few seats but cold beer available.
Didn’t have any wine that I liked
So I’m writing this with reservation because the first people I encountered – on my first visit- The owner and Grant -the beer concierge were wonderful and very friendly.
My 2nd visit was a whole different experience
On the 1st visit I had great discussions and tastings about beer with Grant. I told him I was from New England and had brought down with me a number of different beers from craft breweries up north and would he be interested in trying some?
He was very interested and suggested I come in on Friday so Brandon, a coworker and fellow craft brew lover, could also partake.
Cool the more the merrier! On Friday lunchtime I stopped in to meet Brandon to see what beers in particular he’d like me to bring.
He was very taken aback by my offer and assumed I was a beer rep and said he wasnt interested – I tried to explain who I was and how I spoke with Grant – he was very rude said he knew nothing about it and if I wasn’t buying anything he was not interested.
First off if you are in the service business you dont treat people with disrespect -secondly what true craft beer lover doesnt want to try beers from other places??? and lastly I’ve been down south for 2 1/2 months EVERYONE has been friendly and engaging this guys attitude was just like I was up north again rude condescending and dismissive NOT the guy I was told about or read about.
Wasn’t that impressed
6. Abide Coffee Hiawassee
Address: 195 N Main St, Hiawassee, GA 30546 , Hiawassee , Georgia , United States
Such good coffee! A nice quiet place to chill and read or work on the computer.
The coffee and the atmosphere was great. I drink black but my wife had a latte with brown sugar cinnamon and white mocca. If you pay attention you can tell the place is ran by Christian people and that too me is a plus.
Fine coffee great service and very clean shop
We had coffee just before closing, and also, as it was the end of the week, there were no other patrons there, and that had an effect on the atmosphere. One would need to visit on another occasion for a fair assessment.
Quieter then it’s sibling location in Blairsville this was a perfect place to study with some hand crafted lattes and an everything bagle.
They had everything “other” coffee shops have. Or at least everything I wanted and I love a lot of different coffee and tea stuffs!
(alsp their fall drinks are out and the cider is soooooooo good!)
Cozy little shop with a great selection. Service was a bit on the slower side but wasn’t in a rush, so didn’t mind the wait. Cold brew with Carmel was delicious. The misses frozen Carmel cappuccino was a lil more on the black coffee taste. The croissant egg sandwich was buttery and delicious.
My husband and I were looking forward to supporting this business with a Christian based mission. Unfortunately we were extremely disappointed. My husband order a mocha and I got a latte. The young man that served us was very polite asked if we wanted them hot or cold which we said hot. He were also going to order breakfast sandwiches to find out their oven had broken the day before but he said he could toast the croissant. We agreed to that and ordered 2. My husband waited quite a while and brought the drinks out. They were ice cold. He took them back but were not very warm and not a lot of flavor. We ended up pouring them out. The food also was NOT toasted and we only got one croissant instead of the 2 we ordered. I had also heard the customer before us had order something with 1% milk. All they had was whole, almond, oat or soy. Not a a good Saturday morning coffee experience. Giving this review hoping the owners can work things out. It certainly has potential to be a nice little coffee shop.
7. Redbox
Address: 94 N Main St, Hiawassee, GA 30546 , Hiawassee , Georgia , United States
Excellent mall with great variety and friendly and helpful staff. It’s one of the best laid out and attractive places to shop in this area.
Lots of nice stuff
Very large place with a lot of stuff to wander around and look in. Friendly people working.
Great place to find all types of antiques–linens, lamps, dishes, tools, books, jewelry … And it’s always changing!
Plenty of cute things from comics to jewelry to furniture to thingamabobs
Nice places to walk around. Went while on vacation. We had fun as a family looking at things. Lots of different vendors. Seemed slightly on the side for many things but not out of line. Clean and well maintained. Would recommend
Lots and lots of “stuff” but way overpriced!!
Always same stuff
We have been going to this store for years. Every time we go to Hiawassee we stop there but now it’s no longer a good place to shop for antiques because they have gone crazy on the prices the put on items, they used to be reasonable but NOT NOW! If you look for a bargain, don’t look here!
9. McDonald’s
Address: 520 N Main St, Hiawassee, GA 30546 , Hiawassee , Georgia , United States
An awesome experience. Will definitely go back many times.
This is a great thrift store. They have good products, not junk and all proceeds go to charity.
Bought Dining Room table and chairs Very Reseasonly priced and the People running the store very helpful and friendly
A lot of good items at this thrift store, but prices are quite high for this type of outlet.
Lots of China and glassware. Older furniture. Clean store that’s organized. Some great electric kitchen appliances available.
Socially inept racist and I will not spend another dollar here. My husband and I referred to as the black couple and when addressed about it-was told by Donna well there aren’t a lot of…you know. She was very rude and seemed to have an attitude because I was asking about pricing on sometging. This is a religious based consignment store that I frequent. I definitely could have been referred to as something other than the black couple. Disgusted! Are we not in the day of age where skin color is not the only way to identify an individual????? Christ the king? Not sure what King you serve. As for me the king I know and serve sees no color and is impartial as my Heavenly Father is.
Way over priced
11. Thrifters Paradise
Address: 225 S Main St, Hiawassee, GA 30546 , Hiawassee , Georgia , United States
I had a wonderful time shopping here. It’s been one of the best thrift stores I’ve been to in a while, the prices are great, and the staff is extremely friendly!
It was okay as a thrift store nothing good or bad really stuck out
Went while on vacation, kinda wish I hadn’t wasted my time, though i did buy a couple of things. Very little was priced. What was priced was done with masking tape and a lot was kinda high. Lady who checked me out didn’t know some of the prices. I’m guessing tourists and locals don’t pay the same price, too. Everyone seemed nice. Lots of different stuff to look at.
Went in here one time and saw all the junk at really high prices. I walked out and never been back since. I even donated before I went in here to shop.
Place thinks they are an antique store. Prices have become insane. Double eBay sold prices. Store always messy. Recommend the other thrift stores in town or Blairsville. Will not be coming back.
Cathy receives every thing she sells from others donating there. When asked if she would help a neighbor in need, who lost all his possessions while out of town, with some clothing items her response was he is probably on meth. I was shocked because I myself have donated over 1000 dollars worth of expensive men’s shirts that I am sure she made quite a bit of money on. Are we not, as Christian’s, suppose to clothe the needy when asked? I don’t care what his status is other than he was left with nothing. Very dissapointed in her callous attitude. Will never donate there again.
12. Dollar General
Address: 1835 Sunnyside Rd, Hiawassee, GA 30546 , Hiawassee , Georgia , United States
I love this specific store because there prices are much lower then other Dollar General. Really nice people. The manager is very helpful.
Love this store. We have a new one closer to us and I shop there alot.
So much stuff in a little place. It’s great!
Clean and friendly….
Bigger than other DG, more variety of merchandise. Not as accessible as the DG in Hiawassee. Good parking. Farther from town.
Has a lil of many things. Quick shopping
Dirty
If I could give negative 3 million stars I would. The cashier was an older woman who looked 85!! So rude and unprofessional!! Spoke to a customer about me in my face and proceeded to be a complete nasty person. The manager was no better!! I was so upset I walked out and didn’t buy ANYTHING!! With that type of attitude they deserve to work at a dollar general!!! The store was a mess and nasty along with the workers!!
Not clean at all. People lottiering around. No desire to go back
13. VFW Thrift Store
Address: Lakeview Cir, Hiawassee, GA 30546 , Hiawassee , Georgia , United States
Great place to get deals. The money goes to a great place. The vfw helps the community and the Veterans. People are very friendly and knowable
Great place.. they had the parking lot full of discounted/sale items and it was so inviting!!! & I loved seeing so many Veterans knowing they are helping each other & the community
Nice little thrift store for a GREAT cause!⁰⁰
Above average thrift store. Clothes are well organized. Inventory is always changing, so it’s always worth stopping by to see if they have that item you are looking for. Good selection of books. Friendly staff.
Be sure to bring cash or check. Credit cards are not accepted
Great place…friendly staff…lots of good finds there for all seasons.
I stopped in on Friday after seeing a fb post half off sale and it was written on the white board when I went in. By the time I went to pay it had been erased and wasn’t honored at register. Really rude woman too. This happened once before at this shop. I won’t go back again.
Absolutely Ridiculous prices. Higher than antique stores and ebay. No negotiating. Store is a mess. Much better options in town. They say they are there to support the veterans but yet they drive people away from store with what they call “ market prices”. If people wanted to pay for new they would go to a retail store not thrift store. They get the stuff donated at no cost, cherry pick the best items as you can hear them discuss.
14. Humane Society’s Mountain
Address: 1620 US-76 #10, Hiawassee, GA 30546 , Hiawassee , Georgia , United States
Great Store and a Gibson Dealer,Takamine, Epiphone.
Very knowledgeable owner.
Even a simple order of a single item can turn into an issue with this place. Save yourself the hassle and do not associate with this business.
Out if business
Dealt with these people on reverb. They ignored my messages, refused a refund twice, once before it had shipped out because the dimensions weren’t right to fit on my guitar. Then after no response for months, I posted on their facebook and they deleted my post. These people are scammers and deceivers. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM.
16. Pick A Way Music Store
