Great place with loads of stores to explore. Good restaurants to visit, a large selection and mostly all of them are reasonably priced and good quality.

Ms. Lynne is really nice and I think I’ve learned a a lot about singing over the time I’ve learned from her.
Ms. Lynne is an amazing vocal coach. She is encouraging, energetic and so wonderful with children. My daughter has learned and grown so much under the instruction of Ms Lynne and she absolutely loves her lessons!
Mrs. Lynne has helped me grow in what I love doing, she has helped me connect with the music I sing and has helped me use my voice to it’s full potential. I’ve been taking lessons for almost five years and there has never been a time where I haven’t learned something new. She has taught me so much, even life lessons that I will never forget.

Have been here a couple times and wanted to like it but reality is the food is decidedly mediocre. And as an added bonus got demeaned for ordering incorrectly today. Never again and might want to have your cashier review her Christian ideals.

We were looking foward to a nice quick lunch. Simple order,plain fried chicken sandwich ( double confirmed plain) a cheese steak fried onions, fries,drink $26.00.
So half hour later, cheessteak comes with fries, no chicken Sandwich, steak loaded with raw onion and un.melted cheese. 10 min later chicken sandwich slathered in Sauce, coleslaw etc. Ok..they say no problem. 15 min later I couldn’t take it any longer and got our money back and walked. They looked at me like I should be ok with that. 25 dollars and over and hour for a big mess. Sorry…

This low rating is not a reflection of the Kirkwood Highway store personnel but rather Music & Arts Corporate and their “customer service”. We have been a customer of the store for years including lessons, instrument purchases and instrument service and repair. Everyone we’ve ever dealt with IN THE STORE has been lovely, helpful and knowledgeable. At the beginning of the summer we signed up for weekly lessons for half of June plus July and August in preparation for marching band season. I cancelled, in store, (on August 13th)our weekly lesson effective end of August and specifically requested that the auto debit be cancelled effective immediately as we had already paid for August. In spite of that we were charged for lessons for the month of September. I called the store immediately and was told they had cancelled the lessons on their end but were experiencing issues with a new company-wide system. They put through a request for a refund that day. After a week I called the store again and told them the money had not been refunded. They assured me it had been reported to corporate and that was all they could do from their end. Today I called the corporate number and experienced the worst possible customer service. The woman was cranky and short with me right off the bat and would only tell me that a refund would take 4 weeks. When I asked why she said, “that’s our policy”. She had not bothered to ask my name, my location or any dates. When I requested confirmation that the refund was in process she reluctantly took my information and treated me like I had interrupted her lunch break. And then, she told me she couldn’t tell me anything, had no idea if my refund request had been made, told me to wait 4 weeks and call back. When I said that wasn’t a good enough answer she told me I’d have to call the store. So, total waste of time, including the 15 minute wait on hold. I did call the store back and though they were apologetic they could not do much as they have no control over the refund process. Kevin, the store manager, took all my info again and said he would email the lesson coordinator and his district manager and would let me know if he had any further information. I understand this has happened to a number of customers which is outrageous. In this day and age how can a large corporation not be able to timely cancel an auto deduction or at least have a system to log refund requests and be able to tell you if the request has been received? Further, why the hell would it take 4 weeks to refund my money? Absolutely unacceptable. I can’t imagine we would deal with Music & Arts again and certainly would not recommend the company which is a shame because the employees and teachers are great. Seriously, who wants to deal with illegitimate automatic deductions from your bank account???For that matter who wants to loan M & A’s $150. (interest free) for a month at a time??? Imagine if you had 2 or 3 students and were out $300-400 for that amount of time?!? Ridiculous!
They keep charging me after I made the payment over a month ago by phone. Their main office doesn’t communicate efficiently with their stores and vice versa. They claim they can’t see a transaction history of my payment even though it’s RIGHT on my bank account and cleared. I offered to bring a copy of my bank statement and they always say they’ll follow up and don’t. It is incredibly annoying and frustrating to have to deal with something so menial in such a poor manner. They keep sending me collection letters for something I PAID! If this hits my credit because they can’t communicate effectively I will be sure to make a HUGE deal.
I purchased a single set of music lessons from Music & Arts, and they auto-billed me for recurring lessons. After multiple trips to the store, and the personal assurances of the store manager that the incorrectly billed lessons would be refunded, I eventually requested a chargeback on my credit card after they failed to refund me.
Then they re-charged me for the amount I got back in my credit card chargeback, and immediately sent my account to collections!
They will charge you for services not rendered, lie to your face about fixing their own errors, and then damage your credit score when you have to take matters into your own hands to address their theft against you.
This is quite literally the single least ethical business I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Stay far, far away.

Nothing to write home about, but I did have a nice conversation with two of the guys that worked there and they shared some interesting insights on the manufacturing sales evolution over time, as well as dealing with other countries for business transactions.
Not good…. I am new in town and looking for a new music store and when I arrived here the store was dirty with parts and equipment laying on the ground. Then when I found someone and asked about a mic stand they showed me they only had 1 which was way over priced for a cheap stand then when I went to ask another question I was ignored so I just left… I really wish I could have utilized this store instead of driving to guitar center 🙁
Ordered a bass amp there a month ago and it still has not come in. We were told it would take 7 business days to get here and every week we go back it’s a new story well this week are getting our money back and going to guitar center where they have always told the truth and we have always received our products promptly !!!!!!!! Sorry but the service there is the worst ever!!!!
This place is only good for school music rentals. Staff is not knowledgeable , instruments are over price and customer service is less then desirable. Stores are broke down and dangerous. Shop elsewhere….

It took me a while to decide if I wanted to post this or not, as I generally love supporting small businesses and we have so few independent bookstores in Delaware, but honestly this is still something that leaves a bad taste in my mouth and it’s been a few months.
My boyfriend and I went in for the first (and only) time and we split up, I picked up a couple of books (both new and used) and he also picked up a couple, one of which was on a shelf that was clearly labeled “4.00 hardback sale” and that seemed appropriate as it was a clearly used, older book with a good bit of damage. We check out and as we’d both gotten a few things, I didn’t immediately balk at the price but as soon as we saw the receipt, the book that was supposed to be $4 had rung up at $20 so we said that to the cashier and she said that not all books on the $4 shelf were $4 and that they couldn’t do a refund or exchange because they don’t do that. We didn’t push it because we hate arguing, but it was a really bad experience.
It was excited to visit this suburban bookstore in Hockessin, Delaware, in New Castle County. I love books and I love reading. However, I was disappointed with my experience here. It didn’t bother me that the entire bookstore was as big as two walk-in closets in a house. I was disappointed with the selection of books. I liked how there were discounts on the books too. That was something redeeming about this place. It’s not too visible from the main road of Lancaster Pike, so one has to be quite focused and vigilant in order to spot the bookstore when he or she is driving in the area. The female sales clerk was very nice. Unfortunately, I won’t return to the Hockessin Book Shelf. I will visit the Hockessin Public Library about 2 miles away instead for a better literary experience.

Date of performance 06-19-21: One month prior to our wedding date, we contacted Adeline on Gig Salad to perform the ceremony music for our Wedding. I cannot say enough good things about Adeline and her performance!! Throughout the planning processes, she was prompt to respond to all of my inquiries and met with us over zoom since my husband and I were novices to hiring a musician for an event like this. Not only did Adeline bring ideas to the table but she was also open to learning a new song from the recessional piece of our wedding (“Sign, sealed & delivered” by Stevie Wonder). Adeline definitely added that extra element to our wedding to make it truly magical!

The workers a here are some of the rudest I have ever dealt with. I was talked down to today on the phone by someone who obviously didn’t want to deal with me because they didn’t think I was going to make them any money. When I asked to talk to a manager because the worker obviously didn’t know what they were talking about, they hung up on me. I remember when you had to know something to work at Guitar Center. Now I guess they get their applicants from the local Burger King. The manager I talked to wasn’t any better. They just brushed me off. I’ll happily give my money to Sweetwater after this treatment.

I wouldn’t recommend coming here unless you appreciate being ignored. We were not greeted or even acknowledged in any manner. We had to maneuver around the store without assistance and were spoken to in a very condescending way. Steer clear of them.

I go here all the time. I never really liked the way that Doc cut my hair but his kids do a good job. Their prices are cheap, just the way they should be for a man’s haircut. Who needs a $40 haircut?
