Great place to shop for the musically inclined. Staff was knowledgeable, courteous and professional.
Got my sax fixed for $45 and it was completely fixed, even stuff I didn’t know I needed really good and fast service at a low price! You can really tell they’ve been in the music business for a while! Awesome experience!
Quick and efficient service! I called to confirm that had an item in stock, and they did. When I arrived, they had the item at the register, I paid, and left. Perfect! I was there all of 5 minutes!
This is a small music instrument shop with a good selection of instruments ranging from guitars to band instruments like trumpet. They offer repairs for instruments. Not sure how well priced the repairs are but I did buy some books from for a pretty good price.
They are over priced and lame
They were friendly, but we kinda felt they were stand offish because my husband was asking all kinds of questions and we kinda felt that they was tired of being asked the many questions that my husband asked. They had a low selection of items and we felt that we was being pushed out of the store because he asked us a few times if we was ready to check out. So after a few times of being asked we checked out and left. Not sure if we will be going back or if we will make the hour trip to Fayetteville for all of our needs.
4. Jackson’s Music Store Inc
Address: 1651 Horizon Pkwy #500, Buford, GA 30518 , Jackson , Georgia , United States
We called Jackson Music to repair our son’s clarinet. They immediately put Doug on the phone to see if he could. Doug was so helpful and very knowledgeable discussing the problem with his instrument. He fixed the clarinet and polished the keys like new with a fast turn around during the holidays! Thank you Doug!!
The workers have great personality and always try to make a way to fix any issues with instruments! In fact, one of the workers got me into playing ukulele and now I’m addicted!
Very friendly, extremely courteous and most polite customer service I’ve experience in a while. Kudos Jackson’s Music. (Special shout out to Gabby Blakeslee and Ms Joey for making our experience a wonderful one)
Always pleasant – always professional and it’s been that way since I moved into the area!
I’ve read some of the complaints here and I’ve not had those experiences and I shop there a couple times a year. I also understand how smaller music stores value the integrity of their new products by trying to limit maring the guitar finish with picks. You wanna do that you’re right- go to Guitar Center.
First rate staff and ownership and first rate lessons with an experienced staff!
I’ll keep going back!
Chad was very helpful.
I come here for instrument repairs. I’m a professional musician that need his instrument asap. Mark at this location always fixes my sax perfectly. I’m going for a repad in the next two weeks
We have appreciated Jackson music for years, Joey the owner is very nice. I could not get my Mic to get sound out of it so the employee was helping me out Saturday,, he said try these cables and let’s see what happens,, it did not work because the problem was in my floor sound box,, gain was turned down. , I brought back my cables on Monday and different employee said it looks like you probably used them all weekend and now bringing them back? I said no that’s not the issue, he’s giving me Grief on $20 cables for 20 minutes,, wants restocking fee lol, I said to him this is bs, than he said he not going to refund me because I’m cursing him , I was no way shape or form cursing him,, he took $5 out for restocking fee,, pathetic
If I could give zero or lower stars I would. My son’s saxophone gave him problems from the start. I was told on 4 occasions to bring it in. Today Brandon told me he would finally be in, he wasn’t. When I didn’t understand the question to do you have others I could look at, he responded “I have two eyes”. Rude beyond belief! Never again Jackson Music and I’ll make sure to share this with the band families at all the schools I work with as an administrator. Horrible customer service! UPDATE: The nice woman owner called and apologized. I forgive her and believe she doesn’t condone that type behavior.
Overpriced
5. Bradley’s Olde Tavern
Address: 2 Oak St, Jackson, GA 30233 , Jackson , Georgia , United States
Had a great time here ..drinks are great and the lil tavern is cute and cozy..for small town fun come here !
Man this place is awesome and the people who work there are awesome and amazing burgers!!!!!! Flawless!!!!!! 10/10
Good food at reasonable prices. Wonderful atmosphere. Great place to meet friends, watch a game and have a toddie. Will visit again!
Great food. Great friends. Good service.
Service was good. Food was ok.
Late afternoon. Week day. Great food. Slow Service. Inexperienced bartender.
Terrible food. Only good thing was the temperature of the food. Everything else not good. No flavor
Don’t come here. 2 hours and can’t get them to take my money. Food was cold. Avoid the mistake of this place. Why do I have to give any stars at all?
Very disappointing. Arrived mid afternoon to find ourselves the only patrons in the place. Waitress was so so, took our order and brought back our drinks. 30 minutes later the cook hollers out “order up”. We both look toward the kitchen and see our food sitting on the counter under heat lamps. Our waitress had disappeared. 5 minutes later a lady says she’s going across the street to take orders. She comes by our table and ask if everything is OK. I told her not if that is our food sitting over there for the past 5 minutes. Said lady turns around and hunts up our waitress. Once receiving our luke warm order I find my burger had jalapeños all over it which I asked for NO JALAPEÑOS. My wife’s cassadea was tough. My onion rings were dripping grease and tasted as though the grease was very dirty/old. $58 later we left and will never return. DISAPPOINTING
6. Dollar General
Address: 15 Towaliga River Dr, Jackson, GA 30233 , Jackson , Georgia , United States
Cause it’s like a mini Walmart. Seem to have everything
Convenient
Clean
Sorry with a time . And a lot of things are never in stock
Great deals, awesome sales and clearance. But, every time I’ve been in there (I live 2 minutes from it, so I’m in there often), it’s nearly impossible to navigate the store because of all the stock carts everywhere.
Friendly service.
Needs more to choose from
The cashiers are awful, very rude, and try to short you money, I’ve been shorted $20 from there before and my grandfather $10
Absolutely terrible. There is never anyone at the cash register. The workers have a terrible attitude always and are not helpful. I rather drive out of my way than have to deal with these people anymore!
7. Jackson’s Music Store Inc
Address: 5485 Westmoreland Plaza, Douglasville, GA 30134 , Jackson , Georgia , United States
I’ve been coming here on and off for years
Same guys they help anyway possible you need to be straight up about what you want if you’re not sure what you want and want to look around say so they give me room and time to make a decision or to come back later
These guys deal with the public every day but they still pick up on how I like to shop anything you need just ask get to know the guys you’ll be glad you did..JPalmer
Very knowledgeable. My son got his school instrument. Different payment plans.
Great workers, with pretty decent prices. The selection could use significant improvement though. Overall a nice place.
Great bunch of talented musicians
Jackson’s Music is a good little small town music store. In a town void of music stores this is a nice oasis to get the things you need. They also fix guitars and rent band instruments too.
Avoid like the plague. Absolutely rubbish. I will never set foot in this garbage store again. Rented an audio system that was buzzing. And changed me extra for an extension cable that there was no proof that it existed.
As any business, it is made up of people. I have been a musician for 25 years but these guys treat you like you are an idiot every time you come in. I even sent my wife up there to ask for something specific and these morons tried to tell her that I was stupid for wanting what I needed. Humility and professionalism goes a long way. I went in to give them a shot on a $4k acoustic that I would up purchasing. Could not get them to treat me serious and I had cash that day!! Never, ever use this place.
Hands-down the worst music store ever!
8. McDonough Music
Address: 184 John Frank Ward Blvd, McDonough, GA 30253 , Jackson , Georgia , United States
Came in to find a guitar tool, and wound up getting my acoustic worked on, instead…while I waited. The work was exceptional, the price was more than fair, and the conversation was the best part of the whole experience. I even got an impromptu lesson out of the visit…and the tips/ideas he gave me opened more doors for my playing.
Wonderful shop, wonderful owner, and the best part of my trip to ATL!
Great teachers! Flexible schedule
My little one is taking piano lessons with Joey. He is excellent. Would highly recommend him !
Cool place..
I needed my viola to be fixed and they fixed it up like brand new
Friendly staff, very knowledgeable, didn’t pay attention to me at first when I came in, but it was very busy.
Closed down? No response
9. Pilot Travel Center
Address: 2995 GA-36, Jackson, GA 30233 , Jackson , Georgia , United States
Always my favorite of the 3 truck stops for me to stop at. Nice supply at the C-store, large restroom, ample parking.
Bathrooms are nice and clean. Great service.
They never have a pilot card for you unless you are a trucker been trying for 3 weeks and it is allways we dont have one so if i dont get one soon ill be going back to the TA in bailyton Tennessee
Clean
As far as truck stops. Meh
This is what really goes on in pilot #4560…Employees are rude and disrespectful, management is lazy and unprofessional, The kitchen is never wiped down or sanitized there is trash and dirt behind everything, product is left sitting out or opened and then used.Coffee is changed when it has been sitting for hours, the ice coffee and tea containers are not washed just dumped out or not even changed just the time on them knowing the coffee is old and tea is sour employees refuse to make fresh. The managers do not enforce any kind of rules or standards for there work ethics nor there staff.Employees steal from the store constantly and everyone looks the other way.We our told daily by our managers to serve old hard donuts even though they know they are not editable. When we complain to supervisors we are told to do what we are told or get written up. The cashiers stay on their phones and eat while checking out customers not helping with coffee bar or donuts. The kitchen has pipes that smell very bad from the mildew that has been there for years and no one takes care of it. chemicals are constantly used around food and has been told by health inspectors not to do so but is still not being done. The bathrooms are barley cleaned and we are always out of inventory from lack of managers asking employees what we need to order. Most of the staff are on drugs and are felons that have been recently released from prison as cashiers and being promoted .this store has no cleaning products is not clean and has alot of mildew throughout the store .Wendys and Dairy Queen are very clean and efficient i do have to say .
I don’t understand what happened to people anymore! It’s as if they have lost their mind’s. And pilot allowing dogs in there stores around food how nasty is that! I’m a dog person yet there’s no way they belong in a place we’re food is served! And anyone can buy a service dog collar. Have we become so soft we forgot the values and principles this great country was founded on! I expect this from loves never though pilot would allow such nastiness!
10. Music & Arts
Address: 1596 Dogwood Dr SE B, Conyers, GA 30013 , Jackson , Georgia , United States
This is our go to store for music and instruments. Service is always great, staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and approachable! We purchased/ rent to own a trumpet today. It was brand new and untouched, lol. Just wish they carried more trumpets at the store, but that’s just life! Try them out!
Staff is knowledgeable and very willing to help! The manager, Patrick, is super friendly and always willing to lend a hand
Friendly staff and great environment!
Need more and a greater variety of stock, but awesome place otherwise.
Very helpful I got exactly what I needed and nothing else.
I paid for a month of voice lessons in advance and I wanted my money back and no one would try to work with me to get my refund back they wouldn’t even let me switch instructors, give me store credit, or anything to try to work with me. The employees favorite line was the system wouldn’t let them give me a refund back it’s alway the system fault ok well call tech support but guess what they can not call music and art Tech support department! I do not recommend anyone to take any type of lessons from this store at all! To many issues to get your refund back!
Went for a guitar setup, my guitar was returned with the tremelo bridge so low that it slammed into the guitar body cavity. Also they used lemon oil on a maple neck which is a no go for me. Did not make a scene there because my son was with me. Essentially paid $50 for a new set of strings which werent weren’t installed correctly. My guitar has locking tuners yet they still wrapped the strings. Spent 2 hours fixing my guitar myself. I would advise everyone to steer clear. If you need a guitar setup, go to a luthier.
I’m very disappointed in the treatment my daughter received today by the instructor Joanie Fitzgerald. Let me be clear, this review is in no way on the entire staff or the services Music Arts offer as a whole. I’m simply doing my review on Joanie Fitzgerald who is an instructor at Music and Arts. This was my daughters second piano lesson in her life as a 9 yo. Ms Fitzgerald was attempting to give in instructions but she kept messing up. She told my 9yo she’s not listening and that she’s not going to help her because she’s already doing too much. When the session ended she never came out to give me feedback instead she locked the door behind my daughter and I’m assuming that’s because she knew I would’ve confronted her on her behavior. I spoke to the young lady at the front desk and advised her I would like to switch instructors immediately. I will see how this goes with the new instructor and if not I will remove my child and follow up with a new review. We live in some sensitive times and I will keep my assumptions to myself but I will say I don’t speak to my kids this way and if she’s not capable of teaching children she’s in the wrong field. My daughter stated she felt sad and I’m so disappointed because I wanted this to be a great experience for her. I’m not sure how they select their staff but everyone deserves to be treated equally….
11. Harris Band Instruments
Address: 3800 Salem Rd, Covington, GA 30016 , Jackson , Georgia , United States
Great experience in Truck Service Shop at 4 am for blown out tire ! Called this Loves on the way from another location that had a technician going for a road call, unable to help us to change tire for spare. A very nice person from the front desk connected me to a technician in the shop. Were going for an apt in FL, with very little spare time. Young technician, came to us right away. We were out of the Shop within 20 min! Great work! Very professional, fast and sincere service done by this Technician, his name was possibly Jason. Would definately recommend this location and this place to service your truck for a tire problem! Especially when this young, knowledgeable and willing to help person is on duty! Great service!
Bathrooms and lobby is clean. McDonald’s sells breakfast ALL DAY!
Overcrowded not enough employees to help out and like most Truck stops no customer service whatsoever
Traffic is bad during the morning & evening rush hours, other than that it’s not a problem getting in & out.
Safe area for a single female to stop while traveling. Clean bathroom.
Tude and cold food after 25min wait.. Really happy meal,??
Worst place, i was waiting my shower more than half hour, i was 4th place in line. At the end it lost from my app, i went inside i asked that i was next custimer for shower. She says shower shutdown since last night. Wasting people’s time. And when i said some places warning if shower doesnt work we cant ourchase by app, why ubguys not putting note so we can see by app, she says i dont work in shower. Rude people here.
Workers are never doing any work! Always talking and laughing and never worried about the customers. When my fiancé who is a truck driver wanted to take a shower they told him it would be an hour wait. And it’s always a wait of 4 or more people. No ugency to clean the bathroom. They told him “ they will clean the bathroom when they get ready”. And that I should have chosen a better profession than driving trucks so I wouldn’t have to take a shower every where. It’s never any rags or towels cleaned and it’s always a issue every time he goes there.

14. Musician’s Warehouse
Address: 245 N Lumpkin St, Athens, GA 30601 , Jackson , Georgia , United States
Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff And a well stocked store.
Rick and Ian were very knowledgeable and helpful. Rick especially helped me out a lot. If you’re looking for a guitar, Rick is the guy for you. He was very patient with me and answered all my questions. It was my first guitar and I have very little knowledge about them and Rick helped me a ton throughout the whole process. Definitely recommend this shop for all your musical needs!
A bit smaller than their old location, but definitely no drop in quality. Still a good place to go for a wide variety of music needs. I purchased an electric guitar and amp from here and the employee who helped me was very informative and helpful.
Could be a little more organized. Drum area needs more open space. And more displayed of items. Seems pretty congested.
Check out the new location!
Nice selection of stringed and percussion instruments. Pretty decent prices, too.
Really wanted to like this company. I was cheated and conned, and after a week with zero communication I contacted them. They fumbled around for another day or two then stated they couldn’t find the item. I was left empty handed and confused. No attempt at finding the item or ordering another. Nothing. Zip. C’mon guys!
Dude I’m not sure what happened. The first floor is desolate (empty for everybody that’s currently reading this while dunk). I understand social distancing, but I’m I am attending Warehouse, I do not care about the current situation, I’m here to rave. Open the first floor for a mosh pit.
Poor selection. If you like grandpa guitars this is the place. Wouldnt recomend to any modern guitar players.
15. Town Center Music
Address: 4072 Suwanee Dam Rd NW, Suwanee, GA 30024 , Jackson , Georgia , United States
Always fast, friendly, knowledgeable service! I am so glad they are close by and that I can trust our guitar to them! They know exactly what needs to be done.
If you need your guitars action set up this is the place for you. One of the only places iv gone to that could get my floyd rose system working properly.
I have just begun learning electric guitar.
Outstanding place. Literally no negatives.
All staff members were knowledgeable, respectful, friendly.
Clean, positive, inviting environment.
I bought a Yamaha Pacifica 012 gig bundle from them for $328.
They also offer lessons.
Highly recommend you visit this place.
Taught my kids to play guitar
Good
Much better store I not been here in a while the past manager was not a music guy or a manger known as a air head I will be back
Store is dirty poor selection not real big
Went in there a couple days ago. Not a huge fan. Workers aren’t very pleasant people and they come up to you every 10 minutes kind of giving you the hint to leave if you’re not gonna buy anything like you’re in there too long.
Great for beginners I guess. Don’t come in here expecting higher quality equipment and experience. Name of their game is to hook beginners onto cheap equipment (which is totally fine) and get you out. No hanging out in there jamming for an extended time.
Maybe I came in on a bad day.
Not where u want to shop you find poorly trained staff and not music people I shopped here off and on for years . just not good pepole
16. Music Go Round – Atlanta/Duluth, GA
Address: 3675 Satellite Blvd # 100, Duluth, GA 30096 , Jackson , Georgia , United States
Long time customer and always happy to make the trek up there. Lots of gear. Great, very helpful (and funny) staff. Brought in some gear to trade and my offers were very reasonable and I thought this was the best place to sell my gear. Staff always willing to help and make everybody happy in the end and never feel pressured to buy anything, just to find the things that make me happy. Would recommend working with Curt, Josiah, Alex, Sam or Naeem.
Wow. Great place. Tons of used gear of every kind. Amps, pedals, guitars, basses, wind and wood instruments. Staff was friendly, but didnt pressure. I just told them I was pricing amps and just doing my research, they offered a few details about my ideas, and I was out. I’ll be back. Really great store.
Outstanding service and good deals. They are always helpful
Very knowledgeable staff for any instruments. Learners to pros.
Dope music spot for musicians to window shop. Lmbo.. extremely pricey for donated music equipment. Come on guys give our pockets a little break. But great selection tho! Have visited 3 times but purchased else where. Lol.
I drive from Braselton to get drumsets..stands…snaredrums..pedals…snare cases. I have 5 drumsets so I always need something from your store ! worth the trip always !!
I’ve purchased from several other locations and always dealt with people happy to make a deal and help out on the price, this place, nobody seems to care about customer service or making money. They lost out on upwards of $2000 I was ready to give them TODAY. I hope the owner sees this.
Edit: Was told via a reply to this review to call and ask for Ann. Called THE VERY NEXT DAY to find out she’s on vacation. But the way I was told was “she’s not here” “… do you want to tell me what day I should try again” “she’s on vacation”
I will NEVER spend a dollar at this store that needs to fire their entire staff and start over. Absolutely disgusting customer service
Second edit: Finally got ahold of the owner. Just an absolute lack of customer service or any type of common sense. Lost a customer for life.
This place hates money.
Cheap, well used gear.
Cool if you’re looking for music gear but terrible place to sell, all these guys do is low ball you and try to make as much profit on your gear as possible. Would give a better review if your employees weren’t so stuck up. They’ll be happy to take your money though anytime.
17. McDonald’s
Address: 113 Truck Stop Way, Jackson, GA 30233 , Jackson , Georgia , United States
I had my sons violin restringed ther and we were out in a giff , I love the coustemer servise they gave us , I advise anyone ti go here
Great store based on excellent service. Took my acoustic guitar in to get the nut on the neck replaced. They not only replaced it but also made the guitar sounds better than it did when it was purchased! Support your local music shop!
Nice shop, great relaxed atmosphere, very helpful and kind, happy with my purchase! Thanks
This is a pretty good little store. I bought my guitar and amp here
Rip off.go elsewhere. I use to really like bringing my daughter here but they must be under new management. Prices have gotten ridiculous!!!
19. Righteous Guitars
Address: 1455 Hembree Rd, Roswell, GA 30076 , Jackson , Georgia , United States
Exceptional customer service and salesmanship from Zack at Righteous. They have a huge selection of really nice guitars. Zack’s questions helped narrow my search for the perfect Taylor acoustic guitar. I’ll be back to purchase a tele before long.
My new favorite guitar store! I was passing through the Atlanta area several weeks ago and stopped by after seeing them on YouTube. I didn’t realize that they were appointment only, but the sign said they would try to accommodate walk-ins if they could. I see why they prefer appointments. They want to make sure they can give every customer personalized attention. The service was great, and they helped me find the right guitar for me. I ended up buying a beautiful Eastman hollow body. It was meticulously set up by Righteous. They shipped it to my home overnight, free. I’ll definitely be back.
Attentive staff and a good selection of guitars.
This is a beautiful store with a magnificent display of guitars. I was never ask if I would like to play one through an amp.
The salesman at Guitar Center did ask if I would like to go into a private room and try out a few guitars.
I love my new PRS from Guitar Center.
Prices are a little high, outstanding selection of guitars. Very knowledgeable and polite staff.
Great shop for rare guitars
No greeting. Vague responses to questions. Retail prices. Sterile.
Went in yesterday and had a terrible experience. I have purchased high end guitars all over the country and never experienced such rude and condescending people. Don’t waste your time going there.
CAUTION!!! Ben Calhoun tries to swindle customers into making unnecessary repairs or modifications for his personal financial gain with his bogus guitar “appraisal” service.
