Amazing art, great customer service, highly recommend
Beautiful art pieces! We got a copper piece for our living room wall and a small gecko for our daughter’s room. Delivery was great and everything arrived perfect.
Fantastic and diverse selection of quality Alaskan and first nations products. Interesting staff that spent 45 minutes just chatting. They have delivered oversized items to such locations as Pensacola, Florida and New Orleans themselves rather than common carrier. I think they turn these trips into a holiday
Kenneth james lee Smith has active warrants in Hawaii I as well as no license for assault on a official domestic violence and is currently thought to be traveling with the owner Rob and Chad unlicensed he’was just released for a second domestic violence charge of a second victim highly dangerous contact police if spotted
After walking from the ship to town wandering around, I needed a place to sit, then I noticed beautiful carved seats in front of Soaring Eagle. After a few mins I decided to walk in and goodness they have such interesting things here, the art and hand work of most of the items in the store are absolutely amazing. I treated it more of like a museum rather than a store. LOL
Goodness, an arm and a leg for some of these items. Missing a star, after reading many reviews, their business practice seems pretty shadyyy!
Cool and nice
This store refuses to replace an item my mother bought and has lied to her about replacing it multiple times. My parents visited the store off of a cruise ship in May 2018. She purchased a cane with a ram head carved onto the handle for $75, left the store, and returned to the cruise ship. While using the cane that same evening on the cruise ship, it snapped in half while she was walking. Disappointed and hoping to get a replacement, she called the store from Juneau the next day. They said “this never happens” and “please send us a picture.” Since my mother couldn’t use her phone on the ship, she sent the picture of the broken cane 2 weeks later. The customer service representative confirmed receipt of the picture of the ram cane, and sent my mother pictures of potential replacements, none of which were the ram cane she wanted and had purchased. She continued to email and call requesting that the store send her a replacement ram cane. Finally after about 5 conversations with the same female customer service representative, they told my mother they were sending a bear cane to replace the ram cane that broke. It never arrived. After calling one last time and speaking to the same woman to let them know she never received the replacement, she confirmed again that “it was in the mail.” This was mid-August. Nothing has arrived.
Beware poor quality products and poor customer service. My mother is too nice of a person to write this review so I gladly did it for her
STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE!!
We purchased an expensive wood carving that they agreed to ship to our home address. Not only did they not ship it, they won’t even respond to our phone calls.SCAM!! Save your money. Look at the dates on the favorable reviews. Most of them are years old.
BEWARE- I have tried to contact this company by phone, email and through their Facebook page in relation to a large expensive piece of art purchased in August 2022 which has not been delivered. Dealt with Chad and Sal and they have failed to contact me. No answer from phone. Buyer beware.
3. The Salvation Army Family Store & Donation Center
Address: 305 Stedman St, Ketchikan, AK 99901 , Ketchikan , Alaska , United States
Wonderful thrift store with lots of goodies and hidden gems. Worth a short walk from the cruise ship terminal or take the free shuttle bus which drops you off near the store.
The Staff are so great at this little Thrift Shop. It is small but a little gold nugget.
A good place to come periodically to find furniture and other great random larger items. Got a fish tank and new waffle iron here too. They have various great sales on their items on different days too.
Nice people there, very helpful with clothing. In fair prices!
The people are friendly
Books over priced
Prices marked are not consistant; two things identical one marked .49 and other marked1.00.
I hate this kind of thing.
4. Lessons a’Lallette
Address: 637 Tower Rd, Ketchikan, AK 99901 , Ketchikan , Alaska , United States
My son has learned a great deal about music theory during his 1st year of lessons. I was worried that he was too rambunctious for piano lessons, but Lalette is an expert at channeling all that energy into music and learning. She is incredibly patient and an excellent teacher. Highly recommend.
Lalette is wonderful with kids. She builds a relationship with them while teaching music playfully and building on their personal interests and tastes! She is also a talented musician in her own right!
5. Redbox
Address: 2417 Tongass Ave, Ketchikan, AK 99901 , Ketchikan , Alaska , United States
Nice comfy place to warm up on those cold Alaska mornings.
Awesome, friendly staff as always. Great recommendation of drinks. Nice peaceful atmosphere.
Everything was great. Staff is super friendly, inviting and helpful. Drinks have been wonderful. Food options are great. It’s a real charm and both my wife and I have lived coming here day after day
Good coffee
Great place to stop in for coffee if you don’t want to deal with downtown coffee. Also a nice place to sit and work since they have wifi.
A little pricey for the value but the best place to study in town.
CLOSED DOWN
We walked 30 min based on a recommendation for this place, and everything online says it’s open. We got here and it’s closed down. No signs, no notice, no reason. It’s noon on a Thursday. So we wrote into Google and took photos to let them know this has closed. We’re bummed. I wonder if they changed locations? Either way… would have like to have tried when they were open.
While it’s fun going to community meet ups here, outside of that the chick that works mornings isn’t very friendly or welcoming… definitely not going out of my way to spend money here anymore. I’d recommend b&d or local grounds if you want more friendly interaction to start your day.
7. Alaska Crêpe Co
Address: 625 Mission St, Ketchikan, AK 99901 , Ketchikan , Alaska , United States
Trendy and the best kind of hipster, the Alaskan Crepe Co. has a variety of sweet and savory menu options, a huge map on the right wall compelling visitors to place pins in their home towns, and a nice view for people-watchers. We dropped in for Wild Alaskan Smoked Sockeye and Brie, Apple, and Honey walking crepes (meaning they come in triangles wrapped in paper, not on plates) — absolutely delicious and the crepes were cooked to perfection.
SO. GOOD. We stumbled upon this place after an unfortunate meal down the street, and these crepes were nothing short of amazing. Our family had sweet and savory varieties, and all were very flavorful and HUGE. The chef and cashier were also great. Highly recommended!
Crepes were good. The staff could use a customer service lesson.
There were 3 other couples in the restaurant and when the single person who was working behind the counter handed their crepe, he was very polite and friendly- despite being the cash and cook.
We tried blueberry cream at about 430 pm – our appetizer before getting back on the cruise- the edge was crispy and blueberries, sauce and cream was delicious.
I’d go there again to try the savory crepes.
I have ordered here many times since they opened and tried most of the menu. Sometimes the crepes have been excellent and sometimes not so much. Some of them just aren’t great combinations to my tastes and sometimes even the ones I like aren’t that good because of how they were prepared. Most of the sweet crepes are too sweet for me and the breakfast crepes aren’t that flavorful. The savory crepes for the most part are fairly good. The wild smoked salmon and the beef with horseradish sauce (request extra sauce to spice it up) are my favorites. Sometimes the service is excellent and the place is spotless, sometimes not. It has a coffee shop atmosphere with little ambiance so I avoid eating there. You can watch the crepes being made while waiting for your order. Expect to spend 20-30 minutes ordering and waiting at a minimum, it can be even longer. No one in my circle cares to go there to wait and eat so I find myself getting orders to go and taking the crepes somewhere else. This is a problem because they hand you a crepe in a waxy paper half wrap. I’ve ordered up to 6 crepes to go. They put some napkins around them and stick them in a paper bag. The waxy wraps leak fiercely. The crepes get smashed all together leaking all over each other and it’s very difficult to determine what kind each crepe is. So great concept, poor execution. On a good day, the crepes are excellent. Consistency is an issue. Which brings me to price – I can eat at McD’s for $5.00 including consistency and good service. The prices have come down about $2 on crepes since the tourists are gone. The drinks are ridiculously over priced. I picked up a crepe and a coke last week…..It was $17.00…..It dripped all down the front of me and the crepe itself was overcooked so it was hard and stiff although the insides were good. $17 was too pricey for an overcooked, poorly wrapped lunch so I won’t be headed back any time soon.
Meh. Got the salmon. Cream cheese was super salty and over flavored. Filled me up but didn’t taste very good. My buddy liked his BLT.
Food was good, but service wasn’t. We ordered 6 crepes and they brought then out. No label. When I asked which ones they were, the server just said “Good question.”
That wasn’t funny.
We figured it out, but it shouldn’t a label be something that is common sense?
$32.00 for two drinks of pop and two napkin sized crepes. My wife had to spit part of hers out. DO NOT GO HERE RIP OFF REALLY.
8. Soho Coho
Address: 5 Creek St, Ketchikan, AK 99901 , Ketchikan , Alaska , United States
Artist Ray Trolls works.
Amazing historic house filled with art, prints, shirts, handbags, jewelry, local artisans.
Must see in Ketchikan.
Absolutely love this small store. Great t-shirt and hoodys that you won’t fund anywhere else
This is store does not sell stuff from China. Its inventory is local artists’ prints, shirts, books, jewelry, stationary, and more. It’s on Creek Street where you can watch the salmon run in late July/early August. I will come here every time I’m in Ketchikan.
Very popular tourist attraction, great locally made pictures, drawings and gifts. Very friendly staff.
Great little gallery featuring a wide variety of art, and mediums. Reasonably priced.
Very artsy shop
I was insulted because i was assault victim who cant wear a mask because it triggers my PTSD of being duct taped. The lady in said get out we have a high level right now. Very inconsiderate people and said hurtful remarks about asians. For shame. Disregards these other reviews. They are old or fake acounts for my sake if you care about victims of assault. I cant say the r word because of the terms of service. Thank you for understanding
9. Rendezvous Thrift Store
Address: 2711 Tongass Ave, Ketchikan, AK 99901 , Ketchikan , Alaska , United States
We had a fun experience at Rendezvous Thrift. The staff was really nice and we visited in a day where they had a posted special price on clothes. Like most thrift stores, it’s a treasure hunt to find the items that are personal to you. I was able to find some wonder things, even a couple dresses new with tags.
I always find treasure there!
They were very nice.and see there hiring. Putting my AP in again tomorrow. I would enjoy being on there team
always have good finds
Extremely rude staff, non transparent pricing, when attempts at negotiation are made they act hostile.
10. Walmart
Address: 4230 Don King Rd, Ketchikan, AK 99901 , Ketchikan , Alaska , United States
Basic walmart. Not a super center, pretty limited. The site doesn’t have “free” in store pickup or delivery, it always quotes me “location surcharge” even for items available in the store currently. Staff is always helpful and nice, that’s the extra star.
Not a fan
It’s good if you need anything other than food, shelves were poorly stocked and I felt profiled shopping and leaving. Subway was okay.
It’s good for quick stops but that’s it.
It be 0 stars but the lady helped me so 1 just for her. Miss in the cast, you and your coworker made me feel a little better.
Like seriously be friendly…doesn’t cost a dime.
11. Family Air Tours & Hook Up Fly Shop
Address: Tongass National Forest, 1621 Tongass Ave, Ketchikan, AK 99901 , Ketchikan , Alaska , United States
Fully recommend a float plane tour to the Misty Fjords with Family Air Tours! Jim was very knowledgeable about the area and made it a smooth and fun trip! Will definitely fly with them again if we return to Ketchikan!
Jim is an excellent pilot and a very knowledgeable tour guide, all rolled in one. We landed in one of the Fjords and he flew through beautiful mountains too. He took excellent steep turns and being totally safe. (I am a pilot myself). Will fly with family air any time when I am in Ketchikan.
Left us waiting until the last minute (instead of at least shooting us an email) to cancel due to supposedly bad weather while the other operators were flying.
Great thanks to Misty Fjords Air for helping us out instantly and giving us three spots on their next available flight while the guy from family air tour just shrugged and said “you’ll get a full refund” when we asked him for an alternative tour or idea as to what to do instead of the flight. This seemed to be a reoccurring issue as the guys working for the other operators asked us “you were booked with family air, weren’t you?” When we came inside the visitor center to find a new tour.
All in all I recommend you stay away from this company if you want a reliable partner, especially when you’re on a cruise ship and only have a few hours in Ketchikan.
ETA: thank your for your quick reply. I would like to set straight that I did in fact provide all the contact information at the time of booking which was back in may and have received both a booking confirmation and the voucher for this tour via email. Also while I fully understand that the companies sometimes have to cancel flights due to inclement weather we had an amazing experience with misty fjords air and saw plenty of other planes around while we were in the air.
12. Sourdough Cocktail Bar
Address: 301 Front St, Ketchikan, AK 99901 , Ketchikan , Alaska , United States
It’s a good bar in town, got all the entertainment items even a shuffleboard. Staff is friendly and good music usually is playing.
Great local atmosphere near cruise ship dock
Awesome people
Cool bar in a small town. Good pool tables, great bar tenders, good prices. Would always be happy for a revisit.A+

13. 49’Er Bar & Liquor Store
Address: 1010 Water St, Ketchikan, AK 99901 , Ketchikan , Alaska , United States
Heather makes a great Bloody Mary, fun pool table and inexpensive cigarettes. My personal favorite!
We made this a last stop of the evening, after a lovely walk along the waterfront, following a lovely meal at Annabelle’s. The bartender was entertaining and the clientele was fun and friendly. Two thumbs up!
Great karaoke on Thursday nights!!!!
Love it
My favorite place.
Great place get a beer
This is a dangerous place. Don’t go here. Only went there once and I’ll never go there again. The bartenders got really drunk and chased me and my friend down the street trying to physically assault us. We ran away. Like only in ketchikan do the bartenders get belligerently drunk and chase people down the street. Literally we were over at the waterfront and were waking to catch a cab, minding our own business, until the bar tenders started yelling at us and trying to physically fight as we ran away. I have videos.
“Either lost or had a phone swiped here. It’s been a week and no one answers the phone. No chance to leave a voicemail. No communication unless you are physically at the bar.”
So the above was my original comment and someone representing the owner immediately responds with: “Swing buy we’ll see what we can do to find the phone you lost”. Its like the complaint wasn’t read or was just being mocked .. To the person who responded .. Ketchikan is a cruise port. Your bar obviously receives a lot of business from patrons who do not live or work in Ketchikan and if my complaint is that you have to physically be at the bar to reach someone, it means “swinging by” is not convenient or not an option. How does someone communicate with the bar without swinging by as it seems no one answers a phone, there is no voicemail that picks up, and no email address to be found. The phone has been disabled because someone tried several times to open it unsuccessfully. Should people avoid this bar if they are from out of town?
Ok
14. New York Cafe
Address: 211 Stedman St, Ketchikan, AK 99901 , Ketchikan , Alaska , United States
This cafe is brisk and busy with ambience. It serves a flight of 4 regional ales, and has 6 on tap.
The ones sampled were all from Denali: Mother Pale Ale, Denali Grove IPA, Single Engine Red, and Chuli Stout.
The Mother was a plain and simple ale. Nothing special, but made for comfortable sipping.
Denali Grove had a lovely citrusy foretaste, without being overpowering. Very satisfying. Single Engine Red was everything a red should be, with that deep malty flavour and mellow aftertaste. It isn’t special, but intriguing, compelling enough for another sip.
Chuli Stout gives you a dark roasted flavour. It’s not sweet as some stouts and porters tend to be. It is a trifle heavy, almost old-fashioned, like a first cousin to a Guiness.
They give you the best meal its being prepared fresh for you every time.
Perfect place for a delicious meal, cozy, warm and homey. I had Bouillabaisse and it was perfect for the rainy weather we had today ✌️
Clean environment, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Best place to grab breakfast with friends.❤
Delicious food. Easy and pleasant atmosphere. They accommodated my special request (scallops with the Mediterranean Salad instead of cod) and then made sure I was happy with it. Which I was.
Four stars because I loved my salmon and eggs but spouse did not his eggs w hash (over easy was over hard and the hash was bland). The salmon eggs were very smokey. Bread wasn’t actually grilled/toasted. Just sliced.
Poor customer service. Felt very unwelcomed, not sure if we missed a something but staff was very short and felt like we were rushed out. It was not busy at all.
Just not New York style food
Mediocre food, coffee was not good. Service was slow. Would not recommend
15. McDonald’s
Address: 2417 Tongass Ave, Ketchikan, AK 99901 , Ketchikan , Alaska , United States
The staff are always SO soooo nice & super good to me, which is hard to find these days!
Always good…and as expected.
Great food on the go
Just McDonald’s
They did a remodel and now the rain pours in your window at the drive up.
It’s McDonald’s
The manager and he specifically the phillopino girl/aged girl that always wears a pony tail that’s on tip black and bottom half home-done orange bleach job.. she purposely messes us every order I make, but no orders where my boyfriend and I are both ordering.. and she works with him at E.C. Phillips.. come on.. I’m about to go to Taco Time or Safeway all the time..
Its an hour before they close and someone answers the phone without sying anything, then hangs up.
They have the worst customer service at this Walmart. Usually I’m pretty generous when it comes to giving stars on customer service but these guys get one because they’re horrible. Nine times out of 10 I get horrible service there is only one kid there that gives amazing customer service but I can’t remember his name.
16. Arctic Bar
Address: 509 Water St, Ketchikan, AK 99901 , Ketchikan , Alaska , United States
The ladies there are lovely and it’s the most crowded bar in town for a reason
Best dog friendly bar
The best place to find craft beer in Ketchikan and bonus it is right across the street from Burger Queen.
A local watering hole often with live music
Fair.
Good to have a beer in L
Ketchilan
You have to stand in line to get a drink. They had the slowest bartenders. She was taking shots with other patrons rather than taking orders. Who wants to get up and stand in line for a drink?
Nice views right on the water (that’s the one star)but owner needs to learn manners when she is dealing with tourists who support her establishment… confronted by two locals who were probably trying to pull something on my husband and myself we got up to leave but wanted a souvenir shirt and had to deal with her and her unsightly mouth!!! Better places just a few steps down the pier!!
Order one pound of crab legs, apparently much less than it should be.
Hi
17. The Alaska Fish House
Address: 3 Salmon Landing, Ketchikan, AK 99901 , Ketchikan , Alaska , United States
I spent a day in Ketchikan and found myself wanting some local seafood. Luckily I found this place because these fish tacos were absolutely amazing.
The blackened halibut with the citrusy onions/cabbage mix complemented each other so well. They honestly did not need any sauce but there was a side aoli which just added even more flavor and went great with the fries. Oh yes the French fries were so crispy and flavorful on the outside with a dense but soft potato on the inside.
I went around 5pm on a Wednesday so it was super quiet at the time which I don’t mind at all. The interior was really cool and felt cozy on a cold and rainy day.
The girl up front was not the most friendly or helpful but the menu is straightforward enough that it didn’t affect the experience much. There was another gentleman there who helped me out anyway and I came away feeling like I made a good choice for dinner. Overall I love this place and hope I’ll be back soon!!
I visited with a coworker while in Ketchikan for some business. The menu is very simple: you get crab or you get fish. Crab is bought in 1/2 pound or 1 pound increments. You can get the fish in a salad, in a sandwich, in a taco, or with fries. There’s a few other options (like smoked salmon chowder), but that’s pretty much the entire menu.
My coworker and I both got the AK Sampler under the fish & chips. It came with a piece of cod, piece of salmon, and a piece of halibut, all on a bed of fries and with a little cup of slaw. Hands down, some of the best fish and chips I’ve ever had in my life.
Highly recommend for a quick, delicious bite to eat in Ketchikan.
Delicious fish!!
Except for the very long wait in line to order food. Everything else was great.
Was ok. Ordered the halibut. Was over priced for the amount of food received.
Good freshest fish, and beer, reasonably priced.
When I first got to Ketchikan, this place was packed so I decided to wait. Last night we decided to try it out and their was no line. Ordered the Dungeness Crab and the rest of my party ordered the fried food. This was the worst meal I have ever had and I have eaten MREs and Army surplus food. They need to take it off the menu since everyone said the fried food was good. Will never return here!
Not great. Halibut tacos has smoked cheese that overpowered the overcooked fish.
Odd BBQ spice on Fry’s and portions are small. Thought we could share as usual but left hungry. Watch your change on big bills ….
18. Ketchikan Area Arts and Humanities Council
Address: 330 Main St, Ketchikan, AK 99901 , Ketchikan , Alaska , United States
Just a cozy welcoming environment. You’re never rushed always attended to and even welcomed to stay and hang out. Very knowledgeable and honest. Love this place!
Large assortment of new and used instruments. Very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly
Dude, their guitars sound so sweet. And some of you are like, “I know”. There’s this awesome sound they’re getting out of some of those guitars, they’ve got just about all the stuff you’d expect to find at a guitar center. They know their stuff, and the guitars they carry definitely show it. Cool spot, they even do repairs!
Stopped in and pick on guitars for a while, friendly atmosphere.
Awesome store , great service
Great selection of instruments and a knowledgeable, friendly staff.
Sexist, rude, and over priced.
20. Godfather’s Pizza
Address: 2050 Sea Level Dr STE 102, Ketchikan, AK 99901 , Ketchikan , Alaska , United States
Call them up..order pizza to go…. good food…. will be back
Awesome.. the taste is unique
Amazing pizza great fresh ingrediants really generous toppings
Great to see this place while traveling as Godfather’s has been loooong gone from home. Tasted EXACTLY like I remembered: hot, fresh, chewy, and cheesy
Godfather’s is an institution in Ketchikan and there are a lot of kids who have grown up having parties, playing games, and eating pizza there. The pizza is certainly not gourmet, and it can be extremely greasy, but if that’s your taste it’s consistently delicious!
A decent budget pizza, if a little on the greasy side. Good place to take kids, as this is the only place on the island that still has arcade cabinets anymore.
Even though they didn’t close until 10 they wouldn’t take my order at 9:30. Whoever answered the phone was rude and hung up on me. I’m pretty sure I will never order from there again.
Didnt even get to try the pizza..
Person taking order on phone was rude and very short …
Told them never mind …id order elsewhere because of such sad customer service …
Order food for pickup at 630 showed up to hear oh none of us are trained on the register. Waiting here for 20 minutes. Ur food is not to the quality to make me wait. Most likely gonna be cold and in unsafe eating conditions………… trash service no surprise
