I always enjoy going in their store. Gavin helps me every time I go in with any questions I have. He is very kind and patient. Thanks Gavin. Your an awesome man.
Very nice people. I had a nice easy time trading. The trade in values are very reasonable.
I have been coming here for years as most of the reviewers. I have always had a decent experience. I’m just an amateur guitar player who doesn’t practice much and i don’t know much about music. I have to be fair and mention that, yes, the staff has at times, seemed curt and disinterested but I’ve never had an out-and-out bad experience here. It’s possible that they were simply just distracted or overwhelmed, it happens! I got lessons here from a swell guy several years ago. I wish i could remember his name. They seem to have a large variety of items like accessories-tuners, picks, strings, stands for your chords, chord books, guitar cases and guitars. They offer stringing services, although I’ve never used them. I think I’ve seen a few banjos and mandolins for sale over the years, although those may have been instruments taken on trade, i don’t know for a fact if they stock and sell those instruments. I also don’t know if they do trade-in as I’ve never had anything to trade. I have seen ukuleles there for sale. It is possible that they have expanded the lessons they offer into other instruments, such as wind instruments but I am not sure. That would depend entirely upon there being any such instructors available here in Jonesboro that don’t already have their own business giving lessons. That’s a lot of “maybes”. It would be good to call and just ask, if this is important to you. I do know that they used to give drum lessons, it’s possible they still do. If you are a musician or have a musician in your life, check this place out!
Great place to shop,
However one small issue I had there was when I was wanting to repair my Fender Guitar. The guitar was beat up a bit, had no strings, paint was damaged, and the knobs for the tuning were gone and the plate was cracked. My friend found it in an abandoned place and it was a decent guitar it was just badly damaged.
I went there to the receptionist and all I got was, “You are better off buying a new guitar” Etc. He was insistent on me just buying a new guitar. It was a very arrogant moment.
There are good thing’s about the place but from my only experience on this It was a huge waste of my time trying to repair, love the shop, the staff is pretty chill but I believe there can be changes.
Been going here for almost a decade. Probably the most condescending and overall lackluster service you can get in Jonesboro. If you’re a musician and you have a question, prepare for a rough time. Great inventory, bad pricing.
I’m being harsh with my rating, but in my defense I’ve been here at least thirty times in my life and have some terrible stories to go along with my dissatisfaction. There are things that you just do not do in customer service.
Sadly enough, the decent music stores have all closed up. Backbeat and All star are all we really have left and they are equally bad.
EDIT: Not sure if All Star is still open actually; don’t let that diminish my credibility. I avoid these places like the plague.
Yeah, I like the shop, but didn’t have the best experience. I brought my classical guitar in from out of town, and called first to specifically ask if they could restring with nylon wound. I brought another electric guitar in as well, since it needed new strings too. When I picked them up, they were both restrung, but my classical guitar was restrung with steel strings, not what I asked. They said they were out of nylon strings, but that these would work. It really changed the whole sound, and was not what I wanted. They didn’t show me the package, or indicate what type of strings for either guitar, but the invoice for both was almost $100! No set up, or anything, just a re-string. And I have no idea what they put on there. I guess it’s probably my fault that I have no time to put on my own strings, so let that be a lesson to me.
I usually do not write reviews about businesses, but I had to about this store. The customer service is absolutely horrid. There staff is arrogant and condescending. If you have any questions about a product, do not be surprised if they are rude and treat you like you do not know what you are talking about. They do not have that bad of a selection for a store that size, but all there items are overpriced. If you are looking to buy a reasonably priced product, buy it online from somewhere like Amazon or Sweetwater, and save yourself from a bad experience.
If you are looking to do a trade in, be prepared for them to give you as little money as possible. You might as well sell it online or sell it to a pawn shop. You will earn more money that way. They will find the lowest price online of the item you are buying, and that is what they will offer you. It does not matter how bad the condition of the product online is, or what condition your item is in.
This is one of the only local music shops in Jonesboro besides Allstar Music. I will not be returning to Back Beat Music. If you are trying to decide whether or not shop there, I will save you time: DO NOT! It is almost worth driving to Memphis to buy a product. I know this review seems very one sided, but I can not think of a single good experience I have had there. I wish there was something good I could say, but there is simply not.

Been with allstar since its been in existence. And the southern knights before that. Its the ONLY local music shop ill spend my hard earned money at.
Very knowledgeable and helpful staff.
Music stuff
If you love instruments and can jam. This is the place to be. Lots of instruments for everyone.
Love J.R.
The store has been in business for a long time. Consequently, there’s a lot of stuff just laying around but I suspect you can get some really good deals here.
Awful, just awful… Paid 150 for used guitar that retails for 120 and comes with a bag! Wouldn’t give me a refund, only in store credit… Definitely not going back here
Used to be a Decent store. Now you’ll probably get better gear at a pawn shop. Everything is overpriced and if you return something you only get store credit. Sadly I can’t recommend All Star Music anymore.
Over priced merchandise. Didn’t enjoy my visit at all. I purchased what i needed because it was my only choice but at a price three times what it should have been.
4. Mr. Crisso’s Music Shop
Address: 1233 Flint St, Jonesboro, AR 72401 , Lawrence County , Arkansas , United States
I came with an old guitar to get it re-strung. I ended up consistently coming back to this store 4 times in the same week for all my music needs. The guy there is as friendly as it gets. I felt genuinely taken care of and I felt my guitar was as well. I would definitely recommend for any music needs.
Have used Mr. Crisso’s music shop several times. He is very knowledgeable about a large variety of instruments. We are music newbies with lots of questions and he has always been very patient and helpful. His prices are reasonable and his service is excellent.
We always receive good service and advice at Mr. Crisso’s. Don’t be fooled by its appearance; this is a great store and Chris is a very knowledgeable and talented musician. We have been impressed by his friendliness and helpfulness. He has much patience with our young musicians and all of our questions.
Store is always clean and the associates are very friendly.
Great employees who go above and beyond to help! Cindi, Billy, Amy and the guys in the automotive center were super kind and helpful when I was recently broke down there. The cart getter is also a sweetheart.
Their kindness meant the world to me and I really appreciated them!
The only place to get anything in walnut ridge but they are friendly. Back to regular hours
Had exactly what i needed
My local walmart so… Still a great store but doesn’t have the selection of a super store. As of 9/2022 I noticed the store was completely rearranged from its previous layout. Nice conversion
Found first aid supplies that I needed but they don’t have any fresh fruit or veggies .
They also have a Subway Sandwich shop inside .
Worst Walmart I have ever been in had to go get my debit card because Walmart pay didn’t work and because they didn’t see my in the parking lot after 5 min they started putting my stuff back. I was in a lot of pain and was parked at the very edge of the parking lot because we were in a semi truck. And then didn’t even bother to offer to help ring everything back up or bring the tv back up front for me.
Love our local book shop! The staff is very friendly and helpful. They have a wide variety of books ranging from kids to adults, and board games too!
The Geekery is such a wonderful, locally owned business and is welcoming for all! Reasonably priced new and used books across several genres sit neatly on the shelves eagerly awaiting their new homes! This store also features locally made origami art and crochet. Dice and book accessories can be found throughout the store as well. There is space and tables for gaming groups or studying and the store has several games available for play. The owners also organize several clubs and a weekly game night, all open to the public! A very delightful hangout space and bookstore indeed. I always feel at home and happy at Eclectic Geekery. I highly recommend stopping by with some friends, playing some games, and grabbing a book to take home and cozy up with.
Lots of good books. Friendly service

I purchased a home concert during a campaign fundraiser and it was the best thing I have ever spent my money on !!! Matt Maverick is very professional and is extremely talented. My friends who attended had the best time ever. He went above and beyond anything I expected.
I had people that was not a big country fan but they were so pleased with his amazing voice they are ready for another concert. Matt was extremely entertaining and had the fans up and dancing, laughing and truly enjoying themselves!!! Highly recommend Matt Maverick for any event you may have planned. Thank you Matt for the best time of my life!!!
I’ve had the pleasure of listening to him online and in person. He’s as genuine a person as you’ll ever meet. His talent of singer, songwriter is a gift to him and all who listen to him. I’m very particular to music, and he is phenomenal. He’s a very special person and is a benevolent young man. If you ever get the opportunity to hear him sing, you’ll be happy you did.

Awesome local music store with a variety of instruments and equipment
Not guitar center
My husband loves this place!!
Very friendly and helpful. Really nice place .
Good people. Good service.
Great hometown music store! Great selection of both new and classic electric guitars serviced by a wonderful, friendly staff. Family owned for decades!
I’ve purchased things from here before, but today, I felt as though my business was not wanted. I took a violin in due to having issues tuning it and the bridge popping off. Was told what I need to do. Told them thank you and asked my daughter if she wanted to look around. Was told to have a nice day. Was not asked if I needed help with anything else. Employee just walked away
They are selling stolen property.
Great home town store

Patrick is an amazing music teacher and an all around great person. He exercises great patience with me! He has always focused on my strengths and allowed me plenty of time to work on things that are more challenging. I will always recommend him to anyone that is interested in lessons for themselves or family members. He has a vast knowledge of music, plays multiple instruments and is very encouraging to his students. He is a 10/10 for sure!
Tasty bass licks are my jam. Mr Dailey took my flavor to a whole new level. Would recommend to anyone!
He is an awesome teacher!!, Not only that he is also an amazing person. He has helped me grow my love for music, taught me great strategies for learning music, but he’s not only a great teacher, he has also became a good friend to me. And has made a huge impact in my life. If you know anybody that wants to learn how to play an instrument. Or anything of the sort, Patrick is definitely your guy!

I love this flea ..lots of bargains to choose from
Did not know about this place. Loved it! It’s huge and very clean and organized. I need more time to go through it. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.
Good store
Good prices and ppl there were nice
Some booths are ridiculous in price, others are good.
Loads of stuff. Need a couple of hours to scan
The booths have many items that are bought “as an example,” Dollar general on their sale days and then the venders price it and try to make a profit?
Very small prices are pretty expensive
Lot of overpriced junk here
19. Palmer Music Company
Address: 1131 Front St, Conway, AR 72032 , Lawrence County , Arkansas , United States
Just bought some reeds! The guy checking me out was very nice! 10/10
Every guitar in this place is set up correctly. Even the cheap <$200 student imports.
I have been a customer of Palmers for several years now. Purchased 2 Taylor guitars there. Today I picked up a Martin guitar that William, the guitar tech performed a setup on. As always I’m very pleased. William patiently answered my questions on the phone. The guitar was ready 6 days before the date promised. When I dropped in the store to pick up the instrument I ran into Bear. Super cool guy. Always gives me good tips. It doesn’t matter if you are a beginner or a 30 year plus player like myself. These guys are pros. Great selection of instruments. No high pressure selling. My FAVORITE music store by far.
Talked to Joey in the store today. He took some time to help me plan for an upcoming purchase for our church. They have a large selection of all kinds of musical instruments and they do lessons, as well. Knowledgeable and helpful staff. Highly recommended! Thanks, Joey!
Usually busy because they’re good at what they do!
I was looking at electric guitars and they didn’t offer to let me plug any of them in. How are you truly going to know if you like one or not if you can’t hear the sound.
Went in expecting to buy a new guitar on 01/26/2023. The man behind the counter was very unfriendly & unhelpful.
I found one I wanted to buy but I just didn’t really want to give my money to a person who didn’t know how to smile.
Another employee walked by and was even more emotionless than the other guy. I left feeling very unwelcome.
I will not be back.
Go to GUITAR CENTER instead (you can actually have FUN there).
