Wow! Oscar goes above and beyond for his customers. My Apollo Twin X was shipped immediately and when I had software issues, he stayed with me until they were resolved. He’s honest and caring. His prices are fair and competitive. Thanks again!
Great service! Quality custom cables.
2. The Musician’s Exchange
Address: 2221 Alma Hwy, Van Buren, AR 72956 , Letux , Arkansas , United States
Best music store in Arkansas!
Bill and his crew are friendly and honest.
They can fix anything, correctly. At a fair price. It’s mostly a guitar store but they have a little bit of everything.
Great place to pick up some equipment and a great convo….love bill and staff , cheap prices too
It’s guitars what’s not to love. Good folks here.
Nice enough staff. Lots of good inventory.
This is one of only a handful of places in the River Valley you can buy instruments and accessories from. It’s a place I can drop in quickly for new strings or sticks. They offer some set-up/repair services from entry to intermediate difficulty. Keep to the kids close (or at the house), as various instruments and/or parts are laying around in some areas of the sales floor, making for somewhat treacherous terrain and unclear pricing. Staff are generally friendly and helpful, though you may have to approach them directly for help. I prefer this myself. Glad they’re here.
Hate it I could not find a clarinet ,:(
Dropped a guitar off for the owner to look at. He told me over the phone he’d give $150 for it and only a few hours later when I came in to get the money he prints me a ticket off and hands me $100. I reminded him that wasn’t what we agreed on and all he said was “that’s all I can do unless you want me to undo the transaction”. Not good business in my opinion. He lost a customer over 50 bucks. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
And now he’s calling me a liar. This isn’t some story I made up when I was bored, it actually happened. Remember the guitar was dropped off so it could be appraised. I don’t enjoy writing bad reviews but this one was earned.
Dropped my guitar off before Christmas was told it would be ready 2nd week of January. Called 3rd week was told not yet. Called 1st week of February was told it was being repaired. Called 4th week was told it would be ready today or tomorrow. Still not ready. Called March 2nd was told still not ready had not started on it had no idea when they would start on it or when it would be ready. Then the smart ass says if I am in a hurry I could just come and get it he did not care.
3. Renown Music
Address: 104 W F Ave, North Little Rock, AR 72116 , Letux , Arkansas , United States
Great people, excellent service, good selection. Everyone in music should check this place out, shop local!!
Muy divertido
Been to Remix about 4 times in the last 8 months or so. Employees are always helpful and getting you what you need. Just bought some new mics for my church and an electric drum-set. It’s nice to have a music store smack-dab in the middle of NWA.
Friendly’s staff knows equipment.
We bought a guitar here for our son a couple weeks back. One guy was way too salesy and talked too much but I like supporting local so we bought one.
Firstly, this shop provides great service on guitars, setups and string changes. But beware of purchasing a guitar that is not currently hanging on their shelf. For example, the Fender American Professional II Strat, comes in 9 different colors. If you want a color that isn’t hanging on their wall, they will offer to get it for you, but it will be considered a “special order” and not eligible to be returned. This is an odd policy since they are an authorized Fender dealer. If you order the guitar direct from Fender, or Sweetwater, or any other online retailer, the guitar is eligible for return no questions asked. So essentially, trying to support a small shop will eliminate any guarantees offered by the manufacturer. Understand, I realize a small shop has limitations and must do what’s best for their bottom line. However, it was never communicated to me “hey if I order this guitar for you, it’s unreturnable.” The thought never crossed my mind to ask, since the item I ordered was a stock offering from Fender, nothing special or custom about it. It’s extremely surprising that a Fender dealer is not able to provide the same customer satisfaction policies that are in place by Fender themselves. Most of the guitars hanging on the walls are mid-tier or entry level guitars, so if you want something better, and you want the peace of mind to return it if you’re not happy with it, then I suggest looking elsewhere. If you need a great setup on your guitar, ReMix can do it.
I will never deal with them again,
I would like everyone that may read this to know that this business has absolutely NO AFFILIATION with Lee Hight or the original Musicians Pro Shop in Springdale.
The fact that they are trying to use the name as their slogan is very disappointing to me & my family and misleading to potential customers.
Please quit trying to profit off of my dad’s legacy.
Edited to respond to your response:
First, the response you gave me here and the response you gave on Facebook present two different ideas: one playing dumb and one asking permission. That alone shows your dishonesty. At least be consistent.
Second, my uncle Larry did not own the Musicians Pro Shop. He’s an easy going guy but he cannot give any real permission to use a name of a business that he did not own. I do not blame him for this though.
Third, the fact that you are sticking to the legality argument just shows that you lack morals because we are well aware that what you are doing is not illegal. My family has been reached out to numerous times regarding your awning and billboard by people that are furious. I worked at a music store for 6 years in the area and met dozens and dozens of people who told me they knew my dad and shared great stories about him. Your narrative that “no one remembers the business 25 years later” is very rude and naive to say. I’d be willing to bet that no one will remember Remix music in 25 years.
Last, you could have used your response to apologize, show empathy and explain yourself in a much better way that I would’ve respected you for. Instead you chose to gaslight me and be defensive.
As a local business, you depend on your community to pay your bills. Angering your local community is the last thing you’d want to do. This is a bad look for you and it will come back to bite you at some point. Best of luck.
Didn’t like the guy’s attitude or the prices. I probably won’t be back.
5. Palmer Music Company
Address: 1131 Front St, Conway, AR 72032 , Letux , Arkansas , United States
Palmer Music is outstanding. We drive 35 minutes to get there and we live 5 minutes from a different music store. Their selection for acoustics is the best around for Taylor and Martin. But the customer service is where they really shine. They bent over backwards to help us recently. I can’t recommend them highly enough.
Awesome! Awesome! They do lessons and instrument repair of all kinds. The have repaired several of my guitars new and vintage, done a great job. I took lessons there, great teachers, had a blast. All around the best place in Arkansas for lessons and repair. Love them.
Awesome place. Helped diagnose the issues with my guitar and offered solutions. They did all they could to help me free of charge. Would definitely recommend.
My guitar was in for repairs for about 4 months. Almost no communication was provided about status of the repair work. It’s understandable with Covid making it difficult to have parts shipped, but the lack of adequate communication was uncomfortably disappointing. I don’t blame the young individual who was working on my guitar, but rather leadership who should have provided direction on appropriate and timely customer service communication. It doesn’t matter to me that it would have taken considerable time for repairs. But the lack of communication stating that due to a backlog in parts, and it was just a waiting game, would have been enough. A 30 second phone call every couple of weeks or so to advise a customer that no progress has been made is better than nothing…it would have been enough to have left my guitar there for months longer. The ironic thing about all this is that I really like the store and the people at Palmer Music, so I will most likely continue to purchase my music supplies from them and I hope my experience there was a one-off….
Usually busy because they’re good at what they do!
I was looking at electric guitars and they didn’t offer to let me plug any of them in. How are you truly going to know if you like one or not if you can’t hear the sound.
Go to GUITAR CENTER instead (you can actually have FUN there).
Went in expecting to buy a new guitar on 01/26/2023. The man behind the counter was very unfriendly & unhelpful.
I found one I wanted to buy but I just didn’t really want to give my money to a person who didn’t know how to smile.
Another employee walked by and was even more emotionless than the other guy. I left feeling very unwelcome.
I will not be back.
6. Guitar Center
Address: 160 E Joyce Blvd, Fayetteville, AR 72703 , Letux , Arkansas , United States
Every time I come, I’m greeted with extraordinarily friendly staff who absolutely knows what they’re doing. To anyone in need of music gear at all, I strongly reccomend this guitar center location
Excelente!!
Found exactly what I needed! In stock, at the right price
Valli very nice and helpful .
Have good inventory, friendly staff but was supposed have met a guitar tech at a certain time & he wasn’t gonna be there until that afternoon so we went somewhere else. And the prices are a little high.
Very helpful staff. Good selection. Prices on some(not all)are a little too high. My used Epiphone cost the same as a new one.
Terrible service. I ordered a peavey 6505 mh stack from there website that said it was available and ready to ship. Paid $115 for 2 day shipping and when it arrived today I find that they had only sent the cabinet with no head which is pretty much usless. When we called they told us that the head was on back order and wouldn’t be available for another two weeks and that they just hadn’t listed that on there website. If I had known that I wouldn’t have wasted my time or money on shipping.
Good place to go for cheap items in a hurry, otherwise you’re better off going online or to a local shop. Their return policy is awful even though they upsell the insurance on every sale. Avoid this place for real gear.
I drove over an hour to GC with cash in pocket fully prepared to purchase an electric drum kit. Sadly, GC was so understaffed that nobody had time to assist me or answer a few simple questions…… You guys missed a good sale…… Thats a bummer for both of us.
7. Arkansas Musicworks
Address: 2400 SE J St, Bentonville, AR 72712 , Letux , Arkansas , United States
Items arrived in perfect order and a few days earlier than expected!! Very happy with this store!
Great staff, great selection. Anytime I go in I leave satisfied. I would highly recommend Arkansas Music Works.
Ordered a fender hi-mass bridge for my p-bass. Came quickly and in excelent packaging. Awesome service will order from them again.
Mixed bag. Some employees are great, others rude and condescending. Rude enough I’d rather go to a pawn shop than do further business here, which is a pity.
Not a huge guitar shop but the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, atmosphere was great light and humourous loved it got what I needed played some guitars and left with good memories
Pretty nice place! First time I have ever been was last week and was surprised at how pretty the inside of the building was and the nice selection overall. They have some beautiful guitars in there that take up an entire wall!
My only two complaints is the drum section is cramped in a corner, and I wasn’t approached or asked if I needed help a single time. There was one other customer in the building besides me and there was around four employees by the counter. I walked around the entire store for about 30 minutes and not a single time was I asked if I needed anything.
Not a major deal. Nice store and I will be back!
Brought my guitar into get work done on it. Neck reset and put new strings on it. They ship it out to the luthier who gives it back in worse condition than I gave it to them in. DO NOT USE!
I thought I would take a chance on them, and bought an AllParts p90 spacer kit. Simple enough, most p90’s dogear covers are the same or very close. The All Parts one is WAY too big for Gibson, Epi, Lindy Fralin, and most dogear p90’s. Had they adequately given the measurements on their ad I would have bought elsewhere. They will refund, but with a %15 restocking fee because I opened it to see if I could make do with it, but it is almost 1/4″ too wide and 1/8 too long. What a waste of time. I went to a nearby autoparts store and bought a set of gasket materials and cut out my own in 15 minutes. Don’t buy the ALL PARTS p90 spacer kit. Or any of the others for that matter get a gasket kit and cut your own for $11, any height you want.
I had a very unpleasant experince with this place. My daughter’s saxophone needed to be fixed, so I took it to this store. Well almost 7 weeks passed and they never called me. When I called them to see if it was ready, they said it was ready. I went to pick it up just to learn that it was not fixed. They were very unpolite the whole time. They said it was fixed when I knew it wasn’t and there was no receipt/details of the work they “did” to it. So they game me a number to call. So I called the number, which is the place who they work with to fix the instruments in Fayatteville. They said they had no record of our instrument. So basically they never sent my daughters saxophone to them and they never called me to let me know what was going on. I understand sometimes things happen, but they basically never accepted they made a mistake. I was very polite with them, eventhough I was not happy about this whole situation. I will not be going to this place again, or reccomend it to anybody. And by the way, one of the owners, who has blonde/reddish hair, is one of the most inpolite person I ever met. We’ve been going to this place for years and if he is there, we know it’s not going to be good. He is rude and has poor customer service skills.
8. Shuffield Music Company
Address: 610 Main St, Arkadelphia, AR 71923 , Letux , Arkansas , United States
Best place to find the things you need for all your audio, video, and instruments. Even better service, they stand behind everything they sell and do!
My “go to” place for any band gear, lights and sound. Paul knows his stuff and is always ready to help. I love dealing with an Owner Operated family business.
Not to bad
Great local music store. We have shopped here for years.
Rude
Good place to buy guitars, don’t ask them to fix anything you own uness you want it damaged.
9. Music City
Address: 5121 Warden Rd Suite A1, North Little Rock, AR 72116 , Letux , Arkansas , United States
Helpful, knowledgeable staff. Don’t expect the guitar inventory to be huge right now as a result of covid related guitar factory shutdowns, but that’s no fault of the store. I got my Strat repaired while I waited. Reasonable cost, and it sounds perfect now.
The workers were very friendly. Service was speedy. That was a variety of instruments to choose from.
Ask for Ed he will hook you up with the best deals.
Very well stocked store.
Knowledgeable staff
Siempre tiene buenas ofertas y el servicio es muy atento y diligente por parte del personal.
Terrible. Won’t be going back EVER!!! Low balled me on equipment trade… dropped my new equipment on the floor I literally had just purchased barely would let me check or help me see if it had any damage to the new unit I bought and kept my change from the purchase too.
I arrived in the store. Waited for worker. Instead of helping me (someone his race came in after me) he waited on them, was demeaning, then tried to sell me a $400 mic.
I am going online now. Same mic they had for $289, found for $216 with free shipping.
Still not open I need microphone’s and professional music gear .from pics to guitar maintenance etc.! I have go to Memphis to get guitar pics!!
