Nice shop plus the guy was very helpful. A lot of music shops I have been in the lately are like what I call the dental office Harley shops. All the same you can’t go in one talk bikes some guitar shops are like that now. Then act like it makes em mad to pull down a guitar for ya to check out. I’ll be back to SMC probably this week seen a coupla guitars I liked..
Very knowledgeable friendly staff. They have a huge selection on music equipment and accessories. Guitar lessons available too.
Very nice place to show for any thing to do with music
Nice place with lots of selections. Employees are very helpful and knowledgeable but just a smidge less friendly than the other guitar store in Rome. Still, if your in town, be sure to stop by there. If you’re in Armuchee, hit the other place up first.
I didnt want to be too harsh…the place has a small selection at high prices, but does price match. The guy working there was nice. They can order things for you.
Up to date on all of their equipment salespeople knowledgeable no wasted time
This place is awful, The Workers was very Rude, and they and was very much a fraud. They tell one thing on the phone once you come in a They Run your credit the price jump up 1000.00. Be aware they Rent instruments that have been used 3 or more times for the price of a Brand new one.

Very nice people working there … Really enjoyed being there.
Love ❤️ ❤️ love ❤️ this store!!! I hope everyone noticed that the bad reviews on here are from people promoting Penny Annie’s or whatever her name is that runs it. You must be doing something right!! Keep up the great work!!!!
Great friendly, clean, and welcoming environment. Everything is affordable and in great condition. I recommend anyone to shop here.
Owner came into my work place starting trouble picked out many of our best name brands , Ms Gloria explained to her that we do not sell to resalers , we work very hard to ensure our customers get a clean , name brand , sanitized garment, the owner of second chance displayed a very ugly attitude slammed the clothes down and threatened to give our store a bad reveiw which she did before she left our parking lot ,how fair is that just because we want our customers to benefit from our hard work , u r very rude hateful person and are telling lies Ms Gloria was not rude to u, u slammed all the clothes down and made a scene , u r only mad because u didn’t get your way Ms Gloria only wants the best for her customers
I’ve been in, not really worth going through. Everything is donated and sold for profit. Even if that profit goes back into the business (what the owner said in another review) – it’s still going into THEIR personal business to purely make money off items given to them. Atleast when you donate to Goodwill it can be written off as a donation to a 501c3 and count as a taxable donation for a charity, here – you’re just giving them items to sell for profit.
Cool selection of albums and cherished cassettes to chose from. Life with a record (not a cd) is always a conversation to have with folks. The sound is always more… you just have to listen to it for yourself. Check out this place for yourself. They even have movie soundtrack albums you’ll remember!
Capitoline Records are the best music shop I’ve ever been in. The employees are phenomenal and they have a good vast knowledge of music and other assorted goodies!! I’ve scored some CDs and cassette tapes that I’ve been wanting for many years! My music library is awesome because of this shop. Music addicts like me should go to Capitoline Records and you’ll most likely find what you’re looking for. I’m Into The Void Everytime I go there!! ✌️ Rock on Rock Steady and boogie down!!
Neat spot! Staff were super friendly, and I found exactly what I was looking for.
Friendly staff, decent selection and prices but the inventory could stand with some organization
Didn’t have a very good selection of 45’s and what they did have were priced high. Of the two that we did want, one of them was cracked and the other one was not for sale.

My visit & purchase was a very pleasant one thanks to Tammy who was more than helpful!
Merry Christmas Isaiah 48:17
Helpful and friendly. Enjoyed talking with the owner.
Walked in and was greeted with a smile.
A genuine smile of appreciation.I talked too much and didn’t shop. Many more visits to come..
Nice selection, especially for a small town.
It was fun to look at the beautiful guitars, even though right now, during this virus epidemic, you can’t touch anything unless you’re planning to buy it.
I didn’t realize there was a store that sells musical instruments in town but was pleasantly surprised! Found exactly what I was looking for and more…definitely will be returning!
Bought an avlex microphone from them that was totally defective. Not only did the store refuse to refund the money, they refused store credit as well. I’ve reported them to consumer reports and the better business bureau. They could’ve just refunded my money for selling me a broken piece of gear. Do not shop here if you don’t like getting ripped off. I’m a local musician and would’ve bought quite a bit of merchandise from them too. Their loss…
My wife bought a Walden acoustic guitar less than a week ago from this music store for me as a surprise. It fell off the stand and the top part of the neck “above the first fret” broke in half. I’ve been playing for 35 years and this has never happened before. The bottom of the guitar stand is 1 inch from the floor so it just fell lightly not slammed against the floor. We took it back and the owners refused to replace it or refund our money. We left the guitar there, out of our money and my gift to play music right now is at a haunt. So I would definitely not recommend this place. -Matthew Patrick Avery

Address: 9 Belmont Dr SW, Rome, GA 30165 , Lindale , Georgia , United States
I’ve been to Retrotone Guitars a couple times and I can say first hand that it has a more inviting and friendly feel than the “other” music shop in town. Josh, the store owner, is a great guy, a military vet and knowledgeable about what he does. He’s the kinda guy you can talk TO versus having talk DOWN to you like some folks can be in music instrument shops. If I can’t get it at Retrotone, I might consider trying online, but I would never waste my time at another local shop in the Rome area. No other local shop deserves my business.
My favorite transaction involved getting an Ibanez Artcore guitar that I’ve been in love with since first setting eyes on it. Keep up the great work Josh. It’s awesome seeing your business grow!
This is a great music shop in the Armuchee area.
Josh the owner is very knowledgeable about his product and can repair or replace most problems with your Guitars. The prices are great from used for the beginning to very nice pieces for the experts. I’ve purchased several guitars and other things and can’t be more satisfied.
They are small so don’t expect to walk into a “chain” store. But what they do have is great prices and staff.

It’s a really good place I hope to go back some day they really helped me with my acoustic guitar
We love this place for our children. The instructors are top notch and have helped our children’s confidence on the stage. One of the best attributes of Music Works is the recitals. They provide severa opportunities throughout the year to perform in front of an audience. My children have grown so much they now perform at gigs all over the state of Georgia!
My son has been taking guitar lessons here for a couple of years. Bobby Depart is a great instructor.
20. Pete’s Music City
Address: 115 S Wall St, Calhoun, GA 30701 , Lindale , Georgia , United States
Super friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff. Shop local and support a great business
Very cool store! Friendly people, knowledgeable about all facets of music instruments equipment latest trends… your One stop music shop! Pete’s, downtown.
Pete is amazing. He is so knowledgeable about all the instruments and I received a very fair price from him on the instruments I had brought in. He told me things I didn’t know about some of them as well. I will be buying a guitar from him when I am able, I would go anywhere else.
I really enjoyed my visit and everything they showed me. They informed me of a lot and they was really friendly. I guess the one negative I have is the books that will help guide you has disc’s as well and I don’t use anything that plays them. It would be nice if they had tapes I could play in the car.
Good service
Very polite and a wide range of instruments to test out for purchase.
Friendly staff, clean environment and plenty of stools to sit in if you decided to pick up a guitar and play. But unfortunately the the selection was not there for me. Not trying to be negative but it really seemed as a store where somebody had went around for a while picking out the best guitars they could find at surrounding pawn shops cleaned them up and opened a store. Not saying you can’t find a good guitar at a pawn shop and not saying that they didn’t have guitars there just very dry selection.
