Great place the parking kind of sucks though but the shop is great and the guys are really cool and helpful
Get all my guitar strings here. Good prices, friendly service.
Best place for instruments, just got this epic drumset. If you need music, go to ingram’s music store. The people that work there are so nice. 100/10 customer service. Thanks Charlie for helping me set up my drumset.
Good Guitars, Good Basses, Good Drumsets, this is my go to music store.
Awesome music shop.
Friendly and knowledgeable.
I have always like this place better than the one across the street. For my music needs I check here first always
They can do repairs, we will see how good the repairs are in future fingers crossed, the people are personable thanks for being there
No public restroom. Cash only lessons.
Went in looking to get some drumsticks and guitar strings. They were very short with me. They didn’t have 2b sticks in stock. Tried to pass off other sticks as 2b’s. They also didnt have the guitar strings I wanted in stock. Never once did they offer to order anything for me either. I have always gone to smaller shops, this one unfortunately tries to run like a big box store without the inventory or customer service to back it up
The one tall mexican dude will only take you seriously if you’re a hotshot player with massive money. he seemed uninterested in talking to me and said “we only do serious inquiries only” when i wanted to try out one of the basses. do not go here unless you want to be treated condescendingly or with apathy. not to mention that i told him that i am an experienced bassist and knew what i was doing when i was trying out the bass and he still said “don’t scratch the bass with your jacket zipper” as if i don’t know how to handle instruments properly. he was also quick to dismiss any other concerns i had about some problems i’m having with a bass amp i have at home. gottschalk has friendlier staff in spite of having less variety of basses.

Always friendly. They know me by my name when I enter.
Friendly helpful and knowledgeable staff help me find the right guitar for my six-year-old son with everything he needed to start learning will definitely be getting our music equipment from here in the future!!
The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. They had the cable that I needed and did a great job of showing me how to use it.
The items there are largely geared towards guitar players but they also have a noteworthy selection of audio equipment, percussion, keyboards, as well as a few wind instruments. If you want something from them that isn’t in currently in stock they will gladly order something or check their sister location in Clovis and have the item(s) shipped to the Merced location.
Customer service is phenomenal! The people there are knowledgeable and kind and helpful 24/7 and they help make you feel like family!
It’s a small but friendly shop. It can be a little busy at times so you might have to wait. We rent our kids instruments for the school year and it’s a easy process. Everyone is very helpful.
Very helpful bought pics n capo looking for next guitar
The selection of instruments is lacking, but they do have enough to show off. My main concern lies with the employees, they make you feel very unwelcomed here. If you are just browing a certain section, they will basically tell you to buy something or get out. Then if they’re not harassing a customer, when you go up and try to get help they will flee to the back room and ignore you making you wait for hours.
Too expensive, not good quality.
Not a friendly place. Rude Staff. Had to go there to rent an instrument for my grandson. A couple of Staff members were not welcoming and they were not nice. They didn’t have everything we needed, and they weren’t concerned about it. Not a good experience. Not recommending the place. I will try the other music store in town.

Awesome store with great vinyl, one of the best I have ever found. Prices are great and more importantly, the condition of the vinyl records is excellent. Worthy of my highest recommendation.
Friendly service and great deals. Nice selection
Great store! A huge variety of records, CDs, DVDs, tapes, collectors items and much more. The owner is awesome very knowledgeable and helpful. Purchased a couple of shirts, DVDs and CDs.
Always a good selection. There’s something interesting to pick up.
Friendly service.
Great if you like music
The vinyl is expensive and selection is poor. Albums are organized poorly and crammed into bins so tightly you have to work to see what is there.
Hours posted for the store don’t matter. The store was closed at 3 pm on a friday.
Disappointing — bought some records there that were fit for the trash, certainly not in selling condition. BE WARY about the condition of the product in that store! You are FAR BETTER OFF spending your money at the Rasputin / Mad Monk store in Fresno. The worst part of this store is the owner’s taste in music – he plays the absolute worst music while you are trying to shop. Makes you wanna get out the door as soon as you possibly can!! I won’t be returning, my money will be better spent elsewhere! This guy breaks the unwritten rule too and goes down the street to the local antique mall and picks up some of the records there to resell them in his own store. Just not cool.
4. Hendrickson’s Turlock Music
Address: 223 N Center St, Turlock, CA 95380 , Planada , California , United States
Muy amables los dueños tienen de todo y si no lo consiguen
What a delightful music store. I had a great time with the chap in the cap. Got the exact strings needed. Will be a repeat customer. Keep up the good work.
Nice little place. The first music store I been to that sold cigar box guitars in this state.
I’ve been dealing with Hendrickson’s music since 1962.
Good service and good prices
Its a nice music shop, and the owner is very knowledgeable in the topics of different instruments even if he isn’t always there himself
Shady person.
Does not seem too concerned in regards to blocking public sidewalk for pedestrians especially to handicapped individuals in our community.
I had a piano moved by Hendrickson’s and paid for tuning as well. The piano move went fine, but they never completed the tuning which was supposed to be done at the same time. After multiple attempts to connect with Clyde–nothing. Don’t work with this business. So unprofessional and frankly, unethical. I expect more from a long-standing business like this, but based on some of the other reviews here, I probably should have known better.
