Awesome music shop! Staff are friendly, professional, and the rental prices for my sons saxaphone was pretty affordable ($40/month). The coolest part is the rental is actually building equity toward ownership of the instrument or you could trade it for another one if you want. Cody was the associate that helped us and he was great!
Amazing local store with history and amazing deals
Great place not the friendliest to my friend trying to trade a guitar in
More pricey than Music and Arts, and Guitar Center but a good store that meets all music needs. I always try Music and Arts first but sometimes end up here as their selection is Great. They have everything or can get it.
The employees are friendly and attentive. They are also knowledgeable and willing to explain the differences and history of each brand.
I was waiting in line for a rental for about 20 min given it is a busy time of the year but everyone who walked up after me got attended to first. Just seemed very selective which rubbed me the wrong way.
The pianos are poor quality here, and not worth the price. I was going to purchase a piano here, I was very pregnant and didn’t want to shop around, but was treated poorly when I asked some questions. Ended up spending a little more for a great quality piano elsewhere. Glad how it turned out.
The last two times I brought in an instrument for repair I had the worst time even getting an estimate. The first time I waited over 4 weeks after the initial two week waiting period just to find out the manager had personal issues and forgot about it. Okay, this is the first time returning since then. Again, it’s been a week since I should have gotten a call and now I hear the manager decided to not evaluate the instrument because he/she could not find my number. Really??!! The sad part is that I have never spoken with this manager during both incidents because this person is not ever available when I call. Morning. Evening.. they’re never there. I’m starting to believe there really is no manager overseeing the repair of woodwinds. I’m picking up the instrument and going elsewhere. I recommend others do the same for repair. Their sales, lessons and other areas are really great. Repair sucks.
2. Joe’s Vintage Guitars – We Buy Guitars!
Address: 47 N Fraser Dr E, Mesa, AZ 85203 , Mesa , Arizona , United States
So impressed with the depth of Joe’s knowledge and his prompt communication and completion of an appraisal. Highly recommended.
Joe was very helpful in assessing the condition and value of my vintage Gibson guitar online. I highly recommend Joe as a friendly, very knowledgeable vintage guitar appraiser. He was thorough and also very detailed in his explanation and provided expert professional service. Thank you kindly Joe!! Highly recommended to anyone looking for high quality instruments, repairs and appraisals.
Joe was extremely friendly and did an amazing job on my little guitar. Professional and friendly, what else could you want.
Helped with an appraisal for me. Quick and easy.
Been loving this place for quite a while. Nice folks, always helpful and great selection. Prices are a bit out of control, however. Squier bullets for $40 over new price. Used guitars priced same or higher than new (hence 3 stars) but always fun to look and sometimes the odd fairly priced piece in there as well, though you’ll get most things in there brand new for considerably cheaper.
Very surprised by my experience since this business has so many 5 star reviews. Sent texts and emails & left voicemails but have never received any response whatsoever in nearly a week. Left to wonder if I ever will.
Rude customer service from the minute I got on the phone with them.
Beware. Got the rug pulled out right from under me now refund is taking weeks. Very tough to buy vintage from a seller like this. Not honorable. Plenty of good guys out there why have any shade. You’ve been warned.
3. Campos Music & Supplies
Address: 1241 E Broadway Rd #24, Mesa, AZ 85204 , Mesa , Arizona , United States
Off E Broadway Rd in Mesa, this store is in a strip mall. Well marked storefront—can see from street. Store is well stocked merchandise/inventory, variety of music accessories & electronic equipment. Very friendly knowledgeable staff. Reasonable prices.
The only place I know of in the phx area that sells almost any Mexican musical Instrument you are looking for i personally bought 2 12 string takamine guitars and I’m extremely satisfied with the costumer service
I get all I need for music nice people
me puedes decir si tienes burros o boces para acordeon honner corona II de mi mayor y cuanto cuestan
Tienen muchas cosas pero no encontré lo que buscaba…
Buen lugar ..pero les falta partes para wooferd
One of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had.
I was very serious in buying a $2000 guitar (they had in stock and in a box). I had a few minor concerns and questions about buying the guitar sight unseen. “Junior” told me, that once the box was open, and for whatever reason I wasn’t happy with the guitar and wanted to return it , there would be a 20% restocking fee. That’s approximately $400!
Ironically, I talked to Junior’s father (on the phone) the following day about my minor concerns. He addressed my concerns very easily, so I was ready to make the purchase. Then when I talked to Junior again, he was very curt and went out of his way to dissuade me from purchasing the guitar. He even went as far as disagreeing with his father and said something to the effect that his father “didn’t really know” about the things I had asked. All-in-all, I was quite astounded at Junior’s rudeness and dismissiveness with me as a potential customer.
Ultimately, I bought that exact guitar from Sam Ash music online. I asked the same basic and simple questions prior to buying the guitar. The questions were really rather trivial and the Sam Ash representative addressed them easily. My experience with Sam Ash was fantastic. My experience with Campos Music was the exact opposite.
I LOVE this guitar. Campos lost out on a sale and definitely lost out on a future customer.
I brought my accordion two times for tuning and it is the same like before.
I just bought a brand new double bass for 1000+ about 2 weeks ago, called and asked if I can return it cause I’m not too satisfied with it, and they said the best they can do is buy it off me for $750 when they know it’s brand new and they seen it a week after I bought it because I had to take it (45 min. there and back, keep in mind I had went to this store like 3 times that week) to get a minor repair when I bought it brand new. Will never do business with them again.
4. Linton Milano Music
Address: 38 W Main St, Mesa, AZ 85201 , Mesa , Arizona , United States
I really like Brad, my trumpet teacher. I’ve only been playing since the start of school this year, and he’s already taught me a lot. He knows just the right difficulty and pace that fits my needs.
Robert B.C.
I can highly recommend Brittany Johnson for saxophone lessons. She is kind, patient, supportive and has a great sense of humor.
Friendly helpful staff. We bought a piano.
Has all the instruments, high quality, nice Inventory, but no futuristic electronic like silent violence, air drumsticks, Air drum bass pedals, futuristic stuff like that
Awesome place!
Cool place , but the staff are unwelcoming … Even as I have been here and hour looking around they seem to avoid my service, but attend to those who look more musically inclined. Not very happy with them. all I wanted was some guidence to get back into playing ,but they have been ignoring me. They’re loss on 1000$ I guess.
This is a great store, but update your hours on Google maps! I drove from 30 minutes away thinking I could make it on time only to find out they closed an hour earlier than it says.
5. Linton Milano Pianos
Address: 45 W Main St, Mesa, AZ 85201 , Mesa , Arizona , United States
Beautiful places for piano lovers. You get to play and try out different pianos. They are family owned store and have few room that you can learn piano class from some well know instructors.
This place is like a piano gallery. They will answer all your question about piano, their knowledge in the music is second to none in the valley.
Great place to check out both new and used pianos! Super prices and honest family owned business. If you need or desire other musical instruments or lessons their other store is directly across the street in downtown Mesa.
Never thought selling my piano would be this easy: Vaughn responded to my email inquiry (on a Saturday!), and by Tuesday the movers were here and payment rendered. Pleasure doing business!
Good selection of pianos for every budget.
This was a horrible experience for my mother and I. From the second we walked in the owner was rude. First he made fun of us for wearing masks in the middle of a pandemic and asked if he had to wear his. When I responded yes because I have a 4 month old he asked where the baby was, like that mattered. Then on top of that he didn’t like me playing the pianos and made fun for not putting on the dampening petal. The last straw for me was the 2nd anti-semit joke he made. He asked my mom if she was born in Israel for simply trying to haggle. He was the one that started dropping the price and pulling prices out of the air, in a situation such as that haggling is perfectly normal. I can’t believe a man like that is still in business. I wouldn’t buy a piano from him if my life depended on it.
I am a professional pianist and musician. I came here because I thought it would be a perfect local place to compare pianos and possibly buy one. Immediately after beginning to compare pianos I was told by the owner to play more quietly. I responded, “How am I possibly going to know which piano to spend 10 grand on if I can only play quietly?” to which he responded by laughing at me! It’s no wonder down town Mesa struggles to get people to come down here to do business. I highly do not suggest this place.
6. The Music Store
Address: 2630 W Baseline Rd, Mesa, AZ 85202 , Mesa , Arizona , United States
Stopped in to inquire about and check out their Tom Anderson guitars. The young man at the front was very helpful and pointed me in the direction of Jon, the Anderson expert. Had a nice chat with Jon about the process of ordering a custom model from Anderson, and he showed me the guitars they have in stock. He had a lot of useful information and was very helpful in detailing the order process and popular specs. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a nice guitar, or a Mesa Boogie amplifier, which they have quite a selection of. Very well-organized store.
Staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and eager to help you find or order what you’re looking for.
I bought a ukulele here. The staff were very helpful.
Fui una vez a ver las guitars
Great verify of sheet music and ukuleles and an awesome luthier.
The instruments we have rental have been pretty worn but still work well and it is an OK deal for the price. Customer service is helpful and friendly. We have been pleased with our violin rental over this past year and will continue renting here into the next school year.
“Jp” the owner looked right at me and said “no” to giving me a 10% teacher discount for an $11 red label string. Thanks bud.
DO NOT shop here, the employees are rude, the owner is rude, their selection sucks, not even half of what they had even a year ago. Quality has gone way down hill. It won’t be long till they’re gone.
Discriminated against me for having a disability.
7. Guitar Center
Address: 1652 S Val Vista Dr Suite 118, Mesa, AZ 85204 , Mesa , Arizona , United States
The people here are awesome and though this is a very busy store.they take the time for whatever you need.
Always have what I need, when I need it. The staff are great. Shout out to Max for being the best person ever.
Very helpful
Salesmen tried to explain to me that they don’t negotiate prices on guitars.. except I used to be a guitar salesman! I asked if he was paid on commission, to which he replied, “sort of.” Other than the sales tactics, great selection of equipment and instruments
The selection is improving. No staff familiar with bass guitar and amplification. They give it a good shot tho. They do an overall good job.
Guitar center is trash. I drove all the way out here to pick up a product that their site shows is in stock right now, and that the staff said was in stock on the phone. Nope! Oh the site is wrong and the humans answering the phone are also wrong. Save yourself the time and just order online.
Hate to write this but Bought a Yamaha FG 800 acoustic guitar 2 months ago. I started official lessons and was told the set up was wrong but couldn’t adjust the neck due to a MFG defect.
I took it back to GC and asked if we could swap it out and was told no they wouldn’t do that. Asked how much to fix they laughed and said more than it is worth.
I was looking to upgrade and asked if they would just take off the amount on a new purchase, and again was told no. I was going to buy a new Fender Strat and amp so I guess I will take my business elsewhere.
I called Yamaha and they are going to replace for me and advised that GC could have swapped this out and Yamaha would have sent them a new guitar but since most of the managers are on the younger side they don’t really understand the meaning of customer service. I will still visit the store to try equipment out, so I know what I want to purchase just wont buy anything from them.
Beware of ordering online. I order a new Martin guitar to pickup in store (curbside pickup) they tried to give me a floor model that was used and scratched. New means new in box with no damage. I cancel my order and went to Bizarre Guitar in PHX and got a new guitar for cheaper.

9. Music & Arts
Address: 2663 W Baseline Rd, Mesa, AZ 85202 , Mesa , Arizona , United States
Absolutely amazing service for my 9 year daughter. Highly highly recommend!!!
My daughter just started school orchestra this week. On Saturday we went to the other well known rental shop on Main Street because that’s what we’ve always done since I was a kid. Got a violin and that was that. Well then Tuesday rolls around and another kid at the bus stop has a violin from Arizona Fine Violins. The case is what caught my attention. A professional, rectangle case with room for accessories and a thin book or two on the outside.
Today I went to Arizona Fine Violins, got a violin in like new condition (10x better than the other one we rented from the other place) I paid up front for the whole school year and it came out to be way less per month than the other violin that we will be returning.
Veronica was very sweet and helpful, I was in and out in less than 20 minutes. My daughter has a far superior, better looking instrument and a functional case to learn with. I am now telling all the other parents at school to go to Arizona Fine Violins. We will for sure be back.
I’ve both rented and bought an upright bass here and had a great experience. The owner (Steve) is extremely knowledgeable of bases and plays bass with the Phoenix symphony. I would strongly recommend going here if you are thinking about renting or purchasing an upright bass!
I rented a cello for my daughter the 2017/2018 school year my experience with this company was very easy stress-free affordable and they were always available for any questions I might have had at one point I actually had a hard my daughter’s cello repaired and I paid nothing out of pocket because when you a instruments it includes the warranty if you’re looking into renting an instrument for your child I would definitely recommend Arizona fine violin
They keep trying to charge me every month for a guitar I never received. I filed multiple disputes with my credit card and won. Still they keep trying to charge me. Their customer service is unreachable yet they keep sending notices, asking me to pay for something they didn’t deliver. Fraudulent business.
I’m leaving this review with the hope that someone would reach out from customer service or management.
Horrible place… Go across the street, they rent junk 100 dollar violins. If gonna do that buy one off Amazon. Like I said go across the street, they are honest, Unlike this place.
Returned a Viola 1 day late and was charged for the entire month. Pathetic that they are willing to lose a customer for 1 months rental fee. Good business ethics are priceless. Unfortunately this place is trying to squeeze every nickel. Do yourself a favor and go to a place recommended by a friend.
10. Music & Arts
Address: 7040 E Hampton Ave, Mesa, AZ 85209 , Mesa , Arizona , United States
Christian was fantastic, even though they didn’t sell what I needed, he helped me understand the product so I could find it elsewhere. Great customer service, thank you!
Very helpful service!
Great little shop! Very helpful employees. I love Guitar Center as well but I always recommend supporting the local guys before anything else. This is a great shop with a helpful staff.
Buena variedad de música
Very basic selection.
Great place to purchase or repair an instrument. Alwayd friendly and provides suggestions based on cost for anything the sale or service. Strongly recommend Music and Arts.
I don’t necessarily have a grievance with this store in particular but the company in general. When my children did not return in March due to COVID there was zero communication from the company as to what to do if we were currently renting from them. I called one day at the end of March to try and return the instrument and they said unless you can make it here by 5 pm tonight we are closing indefinitely due to Covid. They did not offer me any assistance or let me know there was a customer service line to call. I assumed this was a privately owned company. I tried calling today to see if I can return the instrument (we’ve been quarantined since March) and receive some sort of reimbursement due to the circumstances. The guy at the store told me there was a separate customer service number (oh NOW they tell me) that I would have to call to see if I can get a refund. I called and was told I should have called earlier to get my payments stopped and there was nothing they could do to get reimbursed for the months I have been paying for when I couldn’t return the instrument due to COVID and being quarantined. I don’t believe this is great customer service as almost every other company is offering Covid assistance and they will do nothing but keep my money.
Update- they just called me back and said if I return the instrument I could get half of my last months payment back. So I’ve been paying $27 a month for 4 months on an instrument that’s not even being used and they offer me roughly $13 dollars back. What a joke.
Went to the Music and Arts store today to purchase drumsticks and lessons. Couldn’t use my Canadian Credit card or American cash? Very disappointed
NEGATIVE STARS IS MORE LIKE IT!!! I have had the WORST experience dealing with the customer service from Music and Arts. Everytime me or my husband try to call and resolve our bill we get told a different story! NOONE has helped us resolve the issue and it’s been over 4 months now. The amount of money I have paid Music and Arts already, I could have boughten an instrument. NOT worth the hassel and absolute HORRIBLE customer service!!! Save your money and time and go somewhere else!!
11. Zimm’s Guitars
Address: 1305 W Guadalupe Rd Ste E1, Mesa, AZ 85202 , Mesa , Arizona , United States
Super cool store with a vast inventory, VERY resasonable pricing, and knowledgeable helpful service from and Dane and co. Got a great deal on a trade and Zimms just scored a customer for life. Thanks again Dane! ALSO check out there YouTube channel!!
Cool store…everything is used, couple of interesting options while I was there. It’s the kind of place you check in with on a regular basis because they are bound to have a gem once in a while.
Zimm was an execellent help! Got me into a guitar I loved for way less than I was expecting to pay, great shop great guy!
Great place
Great guitar shop, probably why Phoenix keeps rating it so high. The owner is informative and, if not busy, will happily converse. Plus, you have a shot at meeting interesting customers there, or at least I do. Nice selection of gear, new and used at fair market prices, which is why I go. I pass 3 other shops to get there and would drive twice that distance if needed.
Excellent small guitar shop one of the best on town
Heard good things about them, but don’t advertise that you are open hours that you are not open, maybe I’ll change my rating for it when I go in there and they’re actually open when they say they are
Showed up right after 5:30pm and they were closed. Hours say open until 6pm.
12. Sun Valley Music Distributors
Address: 40 W Baseline Rd #108, Mesa, AZ 85210 , Mesa , Arizona , United States
My girlfriend loves the size of the organs here and can’t resist running her fingers over them all…
If you want to learn and have fun at the same time then Fletcher Music is the place to go. I like everything about the business.
Love fletchers…so grateful for the online lessons they have provided for the past year.
Learned so much about my wonderful prestige plus virtual orchestra instrument.
Thank you staff!!..winnie velner
They came to our RV park and put on a demonstration and told us that there was to be a drawing for a free organ. Our name was chosen to participate in the contest and we were told to go to their store to see if we won or not. When we got there, we were told that this was just another stop toward winning the organ. The actual drawing would be on April 18, 2016. Well, April 18 came and we had heard nothing from them. We called to see what was going on and they said they didn’t have enough participants so the drawing was postponed indefinitely. It wasn’t our fault they didn’t get enough participants for their giveaway. But, they never called us again and I feel sure it was all just a scam to get us into the store so we would buy something or sign up for lessons (which we did). We are fools so shame on us, but the next time it will be shame on you. What a scam!!!!!
