\﹏/ Palmer Music Co. is the premier musical equipment outlet store for the Conway area. Beacuse of their neighborhorly customer service, the expertise in their repair department, and the talent that their staff and teachers share, they are the go to guys for all of your needs as a musician.
I have been a customer of Palmers for several years now. Purchased 2 Taylor guitars there. Today I picked up a Martin guitar that William, the guitar tech performed a setup on. As always I’m very pleased. William patiently answered my questions on the phone. The guitar was ready 6 days before the date promised. When I dropped in the store to pick up the instrument I ran into Bear. Super cool guy. Always gives me good tips. It doesn’t matter if you are a beginner or a 30 year plus player like myself. These guys are pros. Great selection of instruments. No high pressure selling. My FAVORITE music store by far.
Amazing customer service….will definitely be back ❤️
Usually busy because they’re good at what they do!
Talked to Joey in the store today. He took some time to help me plan for an upcoming purchase for our church. They have a large selection of all kinds of musical instruments and they do lessons, as well. Knowledgeable and helpful staff. Highly recommended! Thanks, Joey!
I was looking at electric guitars and they didn’t offer to let me plug any of them in. How are you truly going to know if you like one or not if you can’t hear the sound.
Went in expecting to buy a new guitar on 01/26/2023. The man behind the counter was very unfriendly & unhelpful.
I found one I wanted to buy but I just didn’t really want to give my money to a person who didn’t know how to smile.
Another employee walked by and was even more emotionless than the other guy. I left feeling very unwelcome.
I will not be back.
Go to GUITAR CENTER instead (you can actually have FUN there).
2. Music City
Address: 5121 Warden Rd Suite A1, North Little Rock, AR 72116 , Sântana , Arkansas , United States
I’ve torn myself away from my brand new Clavinova CLP-645 to write a word of thanks to Arkansas Musicworks. Greg Price, the owner, took a lot of time as he helped me make the best decision I’ve made in a very long time, but it was a scary one! On top of everything else, the entire transaction was online!! Now that I’ve had the piano for a few days, I don’t know why I ever hesitated. It’s an amazing piano, and Greg and Tom from Arkansas Musicworks made it all possible. Thank you so much!!
The best place to get music equipment! The team here is fantastic! I will always buy my gear here no matter where I live! Service is personable and fair. Can’t say enough good things about Arkansas music works!
Awesome
There was a guy there and knew a lot about guitars and help me out with a old guitar I had he was very nice to me
A very good place for music instruments and music classes
Wonderful tutors
I had a very unpleasant experince with this place. My daughter’s saxophone needed to be fixed, so I took it to this store. Well almost 7 weeks passed and they never called me. When I called them to see if it was ready, they said it was ready. I went to pick it up just to learn that it was not fixed. They were very unpolite the whole time. They said it was fixed when I knew it wasn’t and there was no receipt/details of the work they “did” to it. So they game me a number to call. So I called the number, which is the place who they work with to fix the instruments in Fayatteville. They said they had no record of our instrument. So basically they never sent my daughters saxophone to them and they never called me to let me know what was going on. I understand sometimes things happen, but they basically never accepted they made a mistake. I was very polite with them, eventhough I was not happy about this whole situation. I will not be going to this place again, or reccomend it to anybody. And by the way, one of the owners, who has blonde/reddish hair, is one of the most inpolite person I ever met. We’ve been going to this place for years and if he is there, we know it’s not going to be good. He is rude and has poor customer service skills.
The manager/owner with the flat cap and black/grey beard couldn’t care less about customer satisfaction. He tries to rush customers into buying equipment, and is extremely rude to you if you don’t buy something right off the bat. I’ve witnessed this every time I’ve been in the store. I would highly recommend seeking a different music store with a competent manager that doesn’t solely care about taking your money. He is unpleasant to be around and lacks simple business concepts. Bottom line, there are plenty other music stores in NW Arkansas that will prioritize your satisfaction — don’t waste your time here.
I was visiting Arkansas for a short time and had a last-minute need for an accessory for my USB microphone. I tried to call them numerous times over two days and no one ever answered the phone, nor did anyone ever return my call despite my leaving a message on the answering machine. So I risked it and drove to the store (because they were the only thing around the area), and when I got to the store I could see that unless I was a guitar player or drummer, I was probably out of luck. I just needed a wind sock for my microphone. They had ONE product that fit that description – with four socks, and all small. I finally had to settle on getting a popscreen instead. I honestly think in my particular situation I would’ve been better off ordering something online or going to BestBuy.
4. Todd The Music Guy
Address: 209 S Main St, Berryville, AR 72616 , Sântana , Arkansas , United States
Had the capo I needed! Great guitar selection and friendly service!!
I had two guitars that had been put in cases and left in an attic for well over 8 years (both needed work then). About a week ago; I pulled them out and decided it was time to get them fixed up and ready to play. Had only one real person that I knew of who did that kind of work close by. I have known Todd for 2 years now, and his meticulous attention to detail and up front honesty is what made me give him a shot. I couldn’t be more glad that I did I called Todd and asked if he would be willing to take a look. He had me bring them by on Monday and stop by after work on Tuesday. What I saw when I showed up on Tuesday was simply astounding. They both worked and sounded like they were just bought. Clean as whistles, perfectly tuned and intonated, and he even recommended a new kind of string which I absolutely love now. All of this for prices that were well below what other shops were going to charge me. Will go to this guy for all of my future guitar stuff.
Had a Gretsch that needed attention. My inontation was messed up, my ¼” port was loose, my neck was bowed, my pick up switch was crackling and cutting out. Seriously nervous to have anyone look at it. (Had bad experiences with ppl ive met saying “oh i can do that”, but mess it up worse than it was). Anyways, he had done a full service on my guitar. He had the inontation fixed, my switch cleaned, the ¼” port tight, the truss rod adjusted, new strings, the fret board conditioned, and had the whole body cleaned in like an hour an a half. Super super impressed. Total service work on my guitar plus strings was $35. Highly recommend to anyone needing their equipment serviced. Super cool.
Todd was super nice. I found the prices to be a little high, but a man has to make a living, i guess.
The selection of guitars and other stringed instruments was great. I’m like a kid in a candy store!
5. Saied Music Co
Address: 2880 Point Cir, Fayetteville, AR 72704 , Sântana , Arkansas , United States
I don’t have much for you compared the store to so I can’t say I’d give it five stars but why not four. It was just a quick and easy trip where I was looking for a cowbell and wasn’t a hundred percent what to look for. There was a guy there who helped me I forget his name but he didn’t hesitate and I got what I needed.
Everyone is easy to talk to and friendly. They carry a wide assortment of musical equipment. Typically geared for the student musician.
Loved this business. Welcoming people, warm. ❤
When I got there I was excited to be buying a ukulele something I’ve been wanting since I was little and when I asked how much taxes were because $82 up from the $54 seemed outrageous the man said idk and didn’t even check it just took an extra $21 and when I was asking questions about other instruments he had. No information literally making me. Still waiting on the money to be back in my account had to go to bed hungry tonight
Do not let them store your debit card on file. I have an unauthorized charge on my account. ONLY PAY THEM THROUGH THE WEBSITE, NOT OVER THE PHONE.
Pretty great selection of instruments, however I felt extremely awkward with the staff and felt like my questions were intrusions. You could chalk this up to me just being anxious, but I would have much more appreciated an employee who could recommend stuff to me, and willing to help me find what I’m looking for. I’ll be going to A different shop to get what I need
6. Guitar Center
Address: 160 E Joyce Blvd, Fayetteville, AR 72703 , Sântana , Arkansas , United States
Customer service was fantastic. Knew exactly what I wanted.
Anything in musical or musical instruments you need are available at the guitar center with an excellent and friendly customer service. I personally love this place.
I Love listening to my Son playing the different guitars & singing to me
It’s guitar center duh
Small but very knowledgeable and helpful people!
I went to pick up an item I bought online, and I was using their contact less curbside pickup option. I checked in that I was parked and started a chat. I waited for about 10 minutes for either a response or someone to come outside with the item, before I decided to go inside and see what was going on. In their defense they were pretty busy, but an employee was just coming to the door with my item, so I walked out to the car with him. He explained that the chat feature doesn’t work on their end, which made me think they should find another way to handle contactless pickup. Either way, it was pleasant, but not as good as I would’ve liked.
I paid, and the dude just shoved my brand new cymbal in a plastic bag, with all the other stuff I bought. After doing some research, it seems this is SOP for GC. Sucks they are pretty much the only game in town. Their prices are good, though.
No one acknowledged my existence. I was prepared to buy something but no one seemed interested in even saying hello.
Fun people. But the sales they have are so specific and expensive. SPEND 1 THOUSAND DOLLARS AND GET NO INTREST FOR 1 YEAR. must apply for our credit card, must __ and ___ and ____. My friend had nearly an 800 credit score and got declined for just a bass guitar at $299. Waste of time unless your paying for it all in one go.
7. The Musician’s Exchange
Address: 2221 Alma Hwy, Van Buren, AR 72956 , Sântana , Arkansas , United States
I just began visiting this place, having met the owner’s wife while she had yard sale.
They were wonderfully patient with my novice level knowledge. They also offer half-price guitar strings!
Slinkies for less than $7!
I already love this place!
Love the musicians exchange. They always have what I need and the staff is knowledgeable and helpful.
Today my grandfather and I went in to but an amp he was previously told cost $350ish. He was so excited to get it. He hadn’t played in forever. He had a gig about a week ago but that was it for a long time and he didn’t have an amp for it. Well we got there and he was told it would be $150. My granddad doesn’t show emotion that well. But he started crying!! He was sooooo happy!!! He’s said he’s known the owner of the shop for a long long time and said “he’s always taken care of me.” Anywho… Made my week. Was the sweetest thing I’ve seen in a while. Y’all deserve more than 5 stars but sadly that’s the max on here. He’s been playing non-stop since we got home and it’s 8:30
Nice enough staff. Lots of good inventory.
Interesting selection of mostly used gear. Friendly folks!
Drove by & stopped because I’m new to the area and was looking for a music store. I’m a new drummer, so I was only curious about their drum supplies. Sadly, they had very little drum stuff, with only a handful of used cymbals for sale on display that I could try out.
The few drum sets they had were used, in bad condition & were stacked (not on stands or with heads on them). So, I was a bit disappointed.
Store looked a bit old, dirty & run down. The two guys working behind the counter were busy chatting with regular customers, but did welcome me when I entered the store. They were pleasant enough (which is why I gave 3 stars instead of 2). Wish they had more quality drum stuff to offer.
Hate it I could not find a clarinet ,:(
Unfriendly staff
Bought a brand new acoustic guitar here after years of using this store for my musical needs. The guitar wasnt staying in tune and i noticed the intonation was a little off as well. I took it back 4 days later and they offered me 100 bucks for it. It was brand new and i spend 400 on it and bought a 150 dollar case as well. Thats not the way you treat repeat customers. I will never be returning to this store again.
8. Independent Music Services Inc
Address: 9851 Brockington Rd #6, Sherwood, AR 72120 , Sântana , Arkansas , United States
Expert craftsmen in musical instrument repair and fantastic customer service. I couldn’t ask for a better repair job for any of my instruments. Staff are all exceptionally knowledgeable in not only newer instruments, but also possess an amazing historic wealth of information. Certainly the place to go!
Great staff, and great work on my horn. As always, consistent and quality work.
Great place for horn repair. Fast and friendly service
Very helpful and informative
Did excellent work on my old trombone, very nice people!
I came in with a horn to have repairs done to it. I needed to have my saxophone’s neck recorked. I needed additional repairs, but above all needed the recorking. The repairman came up, looked at the instrument brand and said he could do nothing for me because if he broke something, he would have to make a part. I thanked him and walked out. I thought by the ratings that this would be a location with skilled craftsmen, but instead feel like it’s people prone to mistakes so they can only work on standard brands and not all instruments. I’d consider calling before coming. They are the only place around for quite a distance and driving over 60 miles to be treated like this felt very awful!
9. Meteor Guitar Gallery
Address: 128 W Central Ave, Bentonville, AR 72712 , Sântana , Arkansas , United States
Very intimate venue. Haven’t been in the balcony yet but the floor is perfect.
Vimtage place, lots of low end used equipment
So I’ve been able to enjoy the atmosphere of this beautiful venue as a result of being here in Bentonville for this years (2021) film festival. Unfortunately, its currently just set up for the festival so I am in able to experience the place in it’s TRUE setting, however, it’s a beautiful building with an awesome staff and guitars for days.
Had a blast at an event here. Big open space in the back.
Canceled concert and never got refund
Worst experience with a music store ever! Lack of knowledge. Limited amount of guitar strings. Just terrible experience first and last time there!
You can trust Renown with any of your stringed instrument repair needs. The owner is very professional and has many years of experience. I wouldn’t take my guitars or basses anywhere else. They have some great teachers if you are wanting to learn something as well.
Brandons is such a great guitar tech. And hes also a Great person.
I’ve been taking guitar lessons from Renoun Music since Sept 2022. I started from scratch and can now play some basic stuff and am having a great time. The guys there are great my teacher Travis Bowman is a world class guitarist. Did I mention I am 76. Highly recommend as a non -intimidating place for young and old. Reasonable pricing and many services.
12. Valley Piano Co
Address: 3515 W Main St, Russellville, AR 72801 , Sântana , Arkansas , United States
I stopped in there for the 1st time and spoke to Brian and he helped me with buying an Amp for my Guitar. Very good Price and the Customer Service was Great!
I just love music
Always a great place to shop! Thanks for always being so helpful!
Great people, a very old store
I went into to buy a guitar. Very small selection
Lots of sheet music and DVDs but it is all on the computer today. Wonderful people. I wish them well!
My visit was to test the integrity of an electric guitar I had. Spoke to the guy behind the counter. (The one with the gray streaked goatee). Told him I was preparing to sell it via Facebook, and all I want to do is see if it sounds as it should. He said it was ok I was like great thanks. The buyer was from outta town and was shopping for guitar supplies. She had just bought amp still needed a cord possibly more. Asked her to meet up there since she was just down the road. She wanted to go in do to the rain. Instantly he started ranting that he’s a business man a professional and I was shady for what I had done. I was very polite. My reply ( I’m sorry I brought you a customer sure she meet up with me to buy a guitar for cheap but she still may need something) she was there for his childish act. ( she replied I do need a cord) He didn’t even bother to respond to her. He looks at me says someone smells bad like cigarettes… Wow 0 stars for your sir. Where’s your public relations at. Your welcome for that sell.

Address: 1023 S Arkansas Ave, Russellville, AR 72801 , Sântana , Arkansas , United States
The staff was cool, and they were a HUGE help finding exactly what I needed!
Mike thx for explaining the issue with my 38 yr old Yamaha cut- away guitar.. in the future, i’ll get the bar ground down so the strings will be at the same level. i enjoyed the visual explanation, bc it allowed me to understand your comments… This is the second time I’ve been a customer. So far u have made two of my guitars sound better… Very pls’ed with the service, honesty, and flexibility. Merry Christmas.., Kevin
They did an incredible job with my dad’s 60 year old acoustic guitar.
Very Helpful! Thank you for your service to our community.
My one stop shop for all my musical needs. You can also record tracks. Awesome place.
Nice music shop.
I bought everything from guitar cases to a JBL top of line PA from them before I found out they are totally BOGUS! Sold me used merchandise as new, then got an attitude when I called them on it! Cuss me out when you’re a thiefing liar? I don’t think so! I wouldn’t buy a guitar pick from these people!!!
I bought a lot of things from Brent when the store sold instruments and amps and was always happy with them. Unfortunately, things have changed. I brought a guitar in that needed a rewire job. I was aware they were busy with festivals but they kept my guitar for 2 months and finally called and told me they didn’t have time to fix it. Needless to say, I wont be back.
Not enough inventory
15. Palmer Violin Shop
Address: 1043 W Walnut St, Rogers, AR 72756 , Sântana , Arkansas , United States
Really knowledgeable and kind owner/employee. He plays the viola but had lots of information about string basses that helped me (someone who’s played, but never owned) make an informed decision on which bass was right for me. Could not recommend enough 🙂
Best there is in NW AR. Expert at cello, viola, violin, one stop shop.
Amazing quality products, great service, Mr. Palmer Was very helpful and very knowledgeable.
Good rental prices
I only logged on to ask if this music store sells or had violins for sale. Can anyone answer this for me ? This is the closest music store but also an hour away and I don’t want to drive there for no reason. So I’d appreciate if someone could give a response and lmk if they do have violins. If not then anything close to a violin such as a viola. Thank you. (:
Billing issues on return violin but was promptly corrected with great costumer service
16. Guitar Center
Address: 12315 Chenal Pkwy A, Little Rock, AR 72211 , Sântana , Arkansas , United States
Excellent customer service, all the guys are friendly and knowledgeable, great selection of merchandise & great hours!!!
Ed is off the charts cool. Really knows his stuff. I could chat guitars with him all day.
Employees are helpful and don’t mind if you try things out.
Bought my husband a guitar, bag, strap and picks. I wish someone had tried to offer help selecting a guitar, at checkout the guy did offer suggestions on if I needed a pick and starter supplies….of course I didn’t need starting supplies because it was my husbands 14th guitar, but I’m guessing I purchased a starter guitar with him assuming I would need those things based on the guitar I bought ( I haven’t given it to him yet because it’s a birthday gift). I pretty much just choose a guitar I thought looked nice because I didn’t know what I was buying. The store was well organized, my only complaint is lack of help, other people that worked there were chatting away.
Nice place to buy instruments and parts accesories
Usually, the people I encounter here are know-it-all, rage-ego, failed musicians. This guy on bass has been wearing it out for at least thirty minutes. Maybe he and the guy playing Thunderstruck incessantly should get together. Like, not only in time, on the same page, on the same song, etc, but like get together elsewhere and play. And really, the “guitar tech” or “setup guy” is a know-it-all and too snarky. He’s terrible at talking to people. I pretty much avoid him because I don’t need to get my blood pressure up any time.
The person I dealt with was just unfriendly and seemed like they could care less about making a sale. I’d rather risk ordering online then deal with them.
Brandon Thomas is rude and treats humans less than animals. Lost all business from me and friends.I
Went in to look, and found a guitar I have wanted for a few months. The price was half what it should have been so I asked the sales assistant to verify it. She verified the price to me twice before I agreed to buy it. Once I got to the register, she explained that the price was wrong and it went up around $300.00.
I was told she had spoken to a manager, but he refused to do anything about the error. When I explained that at the labeled price it was a great deal that I couldn’t pas up, but at the new price it really wasn’t a good deal, the sales assistant told me that if I really wanted the guitar, I should buy it and just love that I could play it.
I feel like this is a classic case of corporate idiocy and a great way to lose customers. I won’t be returning to this store and I doubt I will visit the chain again. While it is a little further for me to drive and the hours aren’t always conducive, I will probably visit the very nice guitar store in Russellville for my music needs in the future.
17. Renown Music
Address: 104 W F Ave, North Little Rock, AR 72116 , Sântana , Arkansas , United States
Gotta enjoy this place. I mostly go for strings for my guitars, primarily D’addario, Dunlop, and Exlir, which they carry here. I’ve bought the handful of others, though: straps, picks, cables (Stagg, to be exact). All solid and worth it. Quality stuff here.
Staff goes above and beyond . Well educated and a true music store where the owners have a passion for music
Paul is a wealth of knowledge for anything guitar or any musical instruments as well as proav and many other things related to the industry. There’s really only one small town music store left in South Arkansas. I’m glad it’s Shuffield music.
Great local music store. We have shopped here for years.
Not to bad
Good place to buy guitars, don’t ask them to fix anything you own uness you want it damaged.
Rude
19. Clarinda’s Crafts & Music
Address: 3 Trina Loop, Greenbrier, AR 72058 , Sântana , Arkansas , United States
Not only am I very pleased with my choice of a handmade Mia A7 mandolin, but also, my instructor just told me that we are both getting better; my playing AND my mandolin! Every time we met for first few of the seven weeks I have had it, he congratulated me on my purchase.
You won’t go wrong choosing a Clarinda-built instrument or one from the lines she carries.
I had been eyeing Clarinda’s websites and instruments for quite a while, about two years. I went to the west coast for a technical program for 9 months, and saw one for sale in the local ads even up there. Since I apparently could never escape, I had to commission something.
If you’re used to playing on cheap, starter mandolins from factories, know that a lot of them are overbuilt out of thick plywood for the top. They tend to be more plonky, less ring, less resonance overall. A lot of them are also not set up very well, which makes your job of learning the instrument even harder.
Do yourself a favor; spend a bit more and get something that will not just sound great, but play easy. I commissioned an F-style oval hole mandola, pitched below a mandolin. Love it. Highly reccommended.
Well now Clarinda is the gal to do business with and maybe learn a thing or two about that special instrument you’ve been looking for. Even if you’re not player. Yet.
Inspiration is where it all starts. You’ll need a quality instrument that is comfortable to you ear and to wear. Because after all, that instrument you’re wearing is a part of you. Linked right to your heart. That’s it. Music.
Clarinda has good taste. Her selection of instruments are about the best values you’ll find. Value. Clarinda’s knowledge of selection. An instrument you’ll look forward to playing. Her personal attention to detail makes all the difference.
I bought 1 Loar LM-700-VS mandolin from Clarinda. I wanted a pick up installed. No problem. Done. I also bought an original version stock Loar LM-700-VS. Plugged in or not these mandolins are top notch! Will knock down your doors and the dogs will come runnin’ in! So to speak… couldn’t be happier. – Steve Kletzel – In Portland Oregon
20. Steinway Piano Gallery Little Rock
Address: 657 AR-365, Mayflower, AR 72106 , Sântana , Arkansas , United States
Stephen and his staff were wonderful in helping us pick out a piano for our daughter. I highly recommend them.
Stephen, and later Tim, have tuned my 1930’s vintage Vose and Sons piano for many years. Eventually, the crack in the sound board and pin block worsened to the point that it would not hold the tuning for more than a few days. Stephen had been very honest with me along the way and we had discussed repairs. Then, he opened his Steinway store and I went to buy a used piano. A new Essex by Steinway satisfied my desire to excellent sound and quality within a budget. (My granddaughter loves to play it also. ) It has been a pleasure to work with Stephen through the years with his consistent technical abilities, quality customer service, and high standards. Thank you, Stephen!
I’ve dreamt of a grand piano my whole life! However, I wanted education on my options, a staff who would listen to my needs and a business I could always return to. I found all of that and more. Everyone in the store is engaging and has an authentic desire to help you find the piano that dreams are made of!
From education to delivery it was a wonderful experience!
