Awesome store! Full of black figurines, black theme items, black author books(kids and adults), fraternity and sorority clothing, Historical Black College clothing, calenders etc. Combined with great customer service. The shop is a black experience within itself.
He always have great books!
Always will to help!
Great product selection…Just a bit overpriced
Nice selection of books and Greek organization paraphernalia
I found alot of cute and reasonable sorority apparel and great books as well
Does not exist
I would like to say that it is so refreshing to find a bookstore that is black owned and geared torwards the betterment of our community on the Southside. However, there is nothing in the store (that I found) that states the return policy. Not even on the e-receipt I was sent when I made payment stating that they only do exchanges.
I picked up the wrong book from Dr. Llaila O. Afrika and didn’t realize it until I got home to compare it from the book I saw on Amazon. Instead of keeping this book (since it is not the one I wanted) I decided to get my money back and get the book I intended on purchasing from Amazon. I went to return the book on March 28th, 2019 and was told that they only do exchanges and if I wanted a call as to when the book would come in. No. Not at all. I would like a full refund, not an exchange. Sad. Because of this factor alone, I will be looking to resell the book myself and no longer patronize this business.
If you are looking for a bookstore that will carry books torwards educating yourself on our true history, this is the place. Just make sure you are purchasing the right books or books that you truly intend on keeping. Peace my love and light.
Really annoying that I drove almost an hour to this place that’s supposedly closes at 7 and I pull up at 6:30pm and there’s a sign on the door stating he will be back tomorrow. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! If you are not gonna be at your place of business, at least have an automated voicemail that states that when they call.
3. Soundcraftcd.com
Address: 6435 GA-42, Rex, GA 30273 , Morrow , Georgia , United States
My kids and I always find something good to read. I look forward to our next visit.
Good place to take young kids.
My favorite place.
Store was crowded. The shelves were a little messy. We did not find what we were looking for. Disappointed
Time there is always fine, always end up leaving with more than intended and not alway what was intended…
In comparison to the BN in Norcross, this location needs more depth in variety of their selection
The heavy set lady in the cafe was rude and not friendly they ran out of coffee so everyone had to wait but there was no apology she her conversation with her coworker as we stood there waiting I was looking at the pastries and she was like mocking me and wagging her head just being extra
Did not have the book I was looking for. Sales person took a lot longer to inform me
I didn’t really enjoy my experience here. The place looks extremely raggedy. They messed up my Iced Tea order. The magazines are not in any real order. The other patrons are not friendly. No one wants to speak. The staff are exactly the same. The manager with the red hair has an extremely nasty disposition.
Will not be coming back.
5. Cracker Barrel Old Country Store
Address: 1458 Southlake Plaza Dr, Morrow, GA 30260 , Morrow , Georgia , United States
Not The Most Friendliest Of Places Especially On A Very Busy Saturday Or Sunday.
Due to covid the waits for a table are a little longer than I prefer. However the staff and food are usually pretty good
Breakfast was tantilizing but coffee was cold
Horrible, worst experience ever bad service our waiter was super rude, took a hour to just bring coffee if I could give it a 0 I would and there was only 5 tables occupied. Save your money and go some where else
Cold food – good server but all three dishes we ordered were cold and not great
The food unfortunately was not in sync with the price!! Didn’t enjoy it at all
6. Music & Arts
Address: 1522 Hudson Bridge Rd, Stockbridge, GA 30281 , Morrow , Georgia , United States
Brian changed my guitar strings for me and everyone was very pleasant and time efficient.
Great music instructors! Great customer service. The kids love the classes. Take advantage of the amazing deals and expose your children to the joy of music
Great experience. My son had an older guitar which I got repaired and tuned.
A fairly well stocked music store.
They are so nice and laid back. I did not give them 5stars only because it would be nice if they had more people to help so the wait to check out wasn’t so long.
Employees are knowledgeable.
Advertised there was an open house, when we got there they looked at me like I was lying after I came in and they did NOT greet us. I asked questions and the guy helping me was polite. Set me an appointment with a vocal coach same day and when I came back for my appointment we waited over 20 mins. I went up to the counter as a courtesy. The women continued to hold conversation as I stood there when I could have just left without saying a word. When she finally finished her conversation with the gentleman then she addressed me and I told her I will not longer be waiting, she tried to get me to reschedule I declined then left. Poor customer service and inconsiderate of others time.
I have been in here a couple of times. Yesterday, the service was bad enough that we won’t be back. I took my daughter in to grab some guitar strings and we arrived at about 4:50pm. The associate was with another customer at the register, so I didn’t think twice about the fact we weren’t greeted. My daughter and I browsed the store while we were waiting for assistance. After the other customer left, we were approached by the employee. He didn’t greet us or ask how he could help us. Instead, he asked us to leave as he was closing the store. I asked his name (Blue) and we left. Don’t waste your time. McDonough Music has always been helpful and I will continue to take my business there. There are many other small businesses that want to help you.
7. Avis Car Sales
Address: 1425 Southlake Pkwy, Morrow, GA 30260 , Morrow , Georgia , United States
Fast and friend my service. No hassle or rush. Come see Mr. Gerardo Hudson and his team when u want a new used car. They are are very professional.
We drove three hours to see these guys for an incredibly priced Kia Soul. From the beginning, James was great in keeping us in the loop about the vehicle, and then later, having it reserved, cleaned, and ready for us to test drive as soon as we pulled up! We couldn’t have asked for better service. Then, Gerardo was EXCELLENT at explaining financing details and our options about other warranties. He was never pushy about a single item he explained, just polite, respectful of our discussions, and beyond all else, knowledgeable. I cannot recommend these two enough, and for that, I cannot recommend this location enough.
Overall my experience was great. Andre & Ted took great care of me and I drove off the lot satisfied !
Lots of cars to choose from and very friendly staff. Just hop i get a good deal on that volvo.
My wife and I were shopping for a used car and stopped by here to look at the selection. They have an amazing variety of foreign and domestic cars here and most of them are relatively new cars many still with some of the factory warranty. The prices seem competitive but Avis doesn’t negotiate. The two cars we test drove didn’t align with what we were looking for so we moved on. However, the service was great and the selection is phenomenal so this should definitely be on your list of places to check out if you’re shopping for a used car. Avis also has a 12 month warranty on these cars which you don’t usually find included anywhere else.
This is the second car that we have purchased from Avis in our household. The price are very competitive with low mileage. Their buying process was simple and easy for my son as a first time buyer.
Be careful. They will list some good cars online, but actually sold or not available. When you take 1 hour or more driving to get there, you will get what I want to say.
Disappointed to say the least. Westlake Bank gave me a good referral about the place so I looked at their car selection on line before showing up, their cars are great and prices seems good, unfortunately customer service and professionalism was not , Mr Ford surely did make me feel uncomfortable, he made the comment that my credit was bad if I had Westlake as a bank , which is not a fact, my credit is good as I stand right now, very much into labeling people right away ,bad for business, we dont have to look a certain way or make a certain impression to be treated as a decent human being, I hope that they change their customer service skills soon. Meanwhile I will keep searching for my daughter’s car for college.
I purchased my car in March 2019 and it is now June and this piss poor company has yet to register my title for the car. I’ve been to the trash office 3 times and reached out to Avis 3 times and they have yet to complete their paperwork or even call me back and give an explanation but rest assured, I will be reporting them to the SOS and B&B AND if needed, get a lawyer. This is unheard of and I will be doing whatever possible to make sure this doesn’t happen again.
Do not buy here!
8. McDonald’s
Address: 6065 Jonesboro Rd, Morrow, GA 30260 , Morrow , Georgia , United States
I wanted breakfast. But the cashier told me that they don’t do all day breakfast because it’s a smaller location. My suggestion is that you all DON’T LEAVE BREAKFAST ITEMS ON THE FREAKING MENU. This isn’t false advertisement. It’s simply misleading. I work in fast food. So to have better customer service. Let’s make it a bit easier for your guests to know what they can and can’t have.
Food was ok
The food is OK
Rude. Slow. Disrespectful. Dirty.
15mins for 3 large fries. The fries had to be cooked but then sat there while the girls talked and checked out customers coming in! smh
One of the worst McDonald’s ever , I just simply wanted fries nothing else on their disgusting menu but no; I can’t simply enjoy that. I asked for a complimentary cup and one of the employees tell me they no longer do it, since when? I come here majority of the time when I come to Walmart. I was already indecisive about spending my money here, and then they also forgot my ranch. The ranch box was busted and looked like it came from under the shelf in the closet, I’m so done with this sloppy store.. I’ve worked in fast food before so I know how it is.
9. Attina’s Music Store Inc.
Address: 378 Glynn St N, Fayetteville, GA 30214 , Morrow , Georgia , United States
I came here to check out their drum section and ukuleles. The owner Jon is kind and professional, he gives you time and space to investigate the instruments. I bought my first steel drum here and recently a new ukulele. Definitely check this place out because not only is there a great selection of various instruments, the music store is a family business! Jon has kept this place thriving and alive since his saxophone playing father originally opened the store years and years ago ! I am looking at drum lessons next here. Aloha Attinas!
I think the owner was very nice he helped me find the right saxophone and he helped me dodge a off brand one
Good customer service. Not a lot of music choices, but I was able to find a Rubank methods book.
Have most items you may need however they’re a little pricey most things are available for less online.
Not enough room to display musical instruments. Cold hearted atmosphere
It was obvious that my presence was causing discomfort to the manager/cashier/whatever. I was not allowed to play a certain Epiphone Les Paul (not even a Gibson) because ‘they wanted to keep it clean’. I am a frikin professional guitarist with 11 years of experience and no music stores have ever denied me of handling an instrument. Highly offending for a first time visitor’s impression.
Go to Guitar Center and avoid this place, you’ll be glad you did.
Expensive, great variety
Guy was on phone the whole time…and we waited. Not sure this is the norm but it was my one and only visit
10. Attina’s Music Store Inc
Address: 155 Jonesboro Rd, McDonough, GA 30253 , Morrow , Georgia , United States
Russ knowledge and expertise helped my students’ parent decide on what flute to purchase. What a great day!
Been shopping here for many years. Rented my Saxophone from Attina’s when I was in 5th grade! Stopped in to grab some guitar strings on this day. Staff super nice.
This is like the other Attina’s but this one will repair your guitar aswell. Easy 30min neck adjustment and strap nuts.
They are over priced and lame
This is a small music instrument shop with a good selection of instruments ranging from guitars to band instruments like trumpet. They offer repairs for instruments. Not sure how well priced the repairs are but I did buy some books from for a pretty good price.
Not enough selection.
They were friendly, but we kinda felt they were stand offish because my husband was asking all kinds of questions and we kinda felt that they was tired of being asked the many questions that my husband asked. They had a low selection of items and we felt that we was being pushed out of the store because he asked us a few times if we was ready to check out. So after a few times of being asked we checked out and left. Not sure if we will be going back or if we will make the hour trip to Fayetteville for all of our needs.
11. Century Music Center
Address: 4828 Flat Shoals Pkwy, Decatur, GA 30034 , Morrow , Georgia , United States
Terrible customer service….did not receive a proper greeting by the staff. In addition, was rudely instructed to take my food out of the facility. I recommend potential customers to shop at village music located in Decatur, Ga muccccchhhh better customer service and pricing.
I called about lessons, the guy that works there was rude and not helpful. I’ll take my money elsewhere, oh and I inquired online first….still no answer. they wont be here long.
Incredibly unreliable, they never follow the hours they post online and in the storefront. You never know when their going to be open. Wasted my time with them.
12. Guitar Center
Address: 186 Banks Crossing, Fayetteville, GA 30214 , Morrow , Georgia , United States
Fashion Fair counter is always helpful and carry’s the one lipstick(magenta mist)that I wear.
Love this store….always clean, polite cashiers, quality merchandise.
Nothing special. Nice clothing for high prices. I guess you’re paying for the glitz and glamour of being in the mall and being able to try it on the same day..
Brows pick spend. Wash rinse repeat. Ps- didn’t see anything I wanted lol
Clean, pleasant environment, great customer service!
Extremely rude staff
A mess
Not enough help In women ‘s shoes. One person working alone. The young lady needed help.
14. The UPS Store
Address: 2045 Mt Zion Rd, Morrow, GA 30260 , Morrow , Georgia , United States
Have always had a great experience at this store. Staff has been friendly and nice and my packages get delivered every time. I don’t care if they’re doing cartwheels all over the store, as long as the job gets done.
Yesterday was the first time I’ve ever been to a UPS. I had to return an item from Amazon. The lady that was there around 6pm was very professional, sadly I didn’t get a name. She printed the label and even closed the envelope for me without any problems.
Great service! I have no complaints whenever I get something shipped from here.
Something was in the water because customer service was not it today
Prices are a little high
I have never had a negative experience and I’m Always satisfied with the customer service.
The customer service is horrible and the staff changes like underwear. I don’t even like to come in if Obie is not there. The guy I encountered today, as of April 8th 5:35p- 5:45p was very rude and not customer service oriented at all. Too busy having a conversation with his lil friend whom I guess was or was not an employee as well. Cursing and all. Black folk really need to learn how to conduct businesses, whether it be your own or someone else’s. I had already emailed my shipping label based on the one I knew by hard and it was incorrect. Fine, no problem. But the way he was dismissive in helping me is unacceptable. Chile… these new kids have no tact or anything. Gen Z really brings a negative experience for most customer related experiences.
Very rude guy in person and over the phone.
Please fire him! Get someone better!
I would like to know with all the negative reviews why isn’t something done? This is unacceptable. Does the owner even care? Or have they done away with the owner….leaving these ingrates to do what they want?
15. Firehouse Guitars & Music
Address: 612 Medlock Rd, Decatur, GA 30033 , Morrow , Georgia , United States
Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. Great music teachers.
Awesome customer service! If you live in or around Decatur you should visit. I got such a great deal I drove over an hour one way to do purchase it. I was in communication with them for multiple days and they helped me pick out exactly what I needed. I look forward to doing business with them again in the future.
This is a pretty good little store. I bought my guitar and amp here
Rip off.go elsewhere. I use to really like bringing my daughter here but they must be under new management. Prices have gotten ridiculous!!!
16. Music Go Round – Atlanta/Duluth, GA
Address: 3675 Satellite Blvd # 100, Duluth, GA 30096 , Morrow , Georgia , United States
Jerry at the store is knowledgeable. Great service and Hometown Feel.
Great deals on used equipment.
The workers there really care about your experience. They made sure I had what I needed and gave me any information that they thought would be helpful.
Nice instrument! Lol.
Brought banjo in for simple work. Has been 2 weeks. Just keep getting told “we will call you when it is done”. Not cool. Way too long for such simple work. Other than that, they have an excellent selection of instruments. EDIT: Resolution has been offered and is appreciated. Discount would be great, but free isn’t necessary. An idea of when it will be complete would be great.
Can always find a good deal on instruments, cymbals, and sound equipment.
Disculpe tienen acordeones en venta??
Was told that i wpuldnt have to worry abput getting low balled on my music equipment and that was a lie. Didnt even want cash just wanted a fair trade on an instrument. They seriously tryed to rip me off on my trade ins. Even when one of my items was completly new in box. Cant wait to see how much longer that guitar sets on there and no one buys it. Waisted two hours of my day and gas. Would have brought these guys lots of good buisness with new trade ins and buys on equipment.
Guitar Center offers more for your used gear
The drive threw took 20 minutes so many cars in line to order inside was closed. They need more help inside so people want have to wait so long on the order.
17. Dirt Cheep Pro Audio & Musical Instruments
Address: 2415 S Cobb Dr SE, Smyrna, GA 30080 , Morrow , Georgia , United States
Me. Steve Franks was amazingly personable, and helpful. Helped us find exactly what we needed quickly and let us explore the rest of the stock peacefully. The establishment is clean, well organized and has a great range of stock.
Friendly and helpful staff, and awesome selection of items!
Nice but expensive
A good place to go when looking for reasonable equipment, the service is good.
Food was good
They charged me a 10% restocking fee for an M-Audio USB interface that had flaky drivers for Windows 7 64-bit. When I told them about this problem one of the guys asked if I was running SP1 or SP2 for Windows 7. When I told him no service packs are out for Windows 7 he looked it up right in front of me and had the audacity to say that M-Audio had drivers for Win 7 SP2. This guy was totally clueless. So I got charged $36 because M-Audio had bad drivers. I won’t be going back.
I was not pleased with their return policy. Just make sure that whatever you get there, you never plan to return it. They left a very bad feeling.
Their name says it all. I bought a new trombone from there for my son who was starting in the band. He was very proud of it and took very care of it, but within weeks, a joint came apart and we had to get it soldered back together. Not long after that, it broke again and we had to pay to get it fixed. Also the slide never seemed to work well and always makes noise and doesn’t glide well no matter how much we clean or grease it. We’ve also had that looked at a couple of times, but it keeps getting worse.
After all the trouble we had with it, I asked someone in the store about it and he told me it was just a cheap trombone. Funny they never mentioned that or how much trouble we would have with it when we bought it.
I thought we would save money over time by buying our own instrument instead of renting, but after this experience I wish we had rented. Consider how many problems and additional costs you might have if you’re in the same situation. Or maybe try a different store with better quality instruments.
18. Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant
Address: 2047 Mt Zion Rd, Morrow, GA 30260 , Morrow , Georgia , United States
Must’ve caught them at closing, because there wasn’t much of a variety, and the music was so loud that I had to shout to be heard, just as the staff did.
Food is delicious but they often run out of stuff
I had the best server no attitude this time
Breakfast was terrible the fried dumplings were good
I placed an order online and once I arrived to the restaurant they stated everything I order they did not have available. I requested a refund when they told me they processed. That was on 2/3/2021….today is now 2/11/2021 and I’m still waiting for that refund. I’ve called the restaurant twice and still have not gotten back my refund! Horrible customer service and horrible establishment!
Always have to ask for silverware
Rude cashier. I spend $45 – $50 most times….will not go back, i dont fight with any staff to spend my money. Too many other Caribbean restaurants around. Miss me with this bull
19. Ken Stanton Music
Address: 5236 Stone Mountain Hwy, Stone Mountain, GA 30087 , Morrow , Georgia , United States
Wonderful ezexperien at this location, associate by the name of Been Nurmi helped me today. He was very knowledgeable and taught me a lot in such little time. It didn’t feel like a sales pitch at all simply a very pleasant conversation. Because of him I will no longer be using guitar center, this place has my future business!!
Nice and friendly environment
I selected Ken Stanton music to take my Taylor 416CE for repairs to address an issue with it’s pre-amp (ES 1.0) that has been a problem from the time I bought it 13 years ago. They were professional and knowledgeable. Scott is a Taylor guy himself so i had no problem leaving it with them to make the changes . They outsource their Taylor work to a luthier by the name of Jacob Brown who picked up the guitar from the store that Wednesday , reviewed all of the possibilities with me by Friday , ordered the replacement parts , replaced my top 3 frets and redressed the rest of the frets and had it back to the store by the following Wednesday. He was communicative , he gave me regular progress reports by email and phone and wanted to be sure that all of the guitar’s maintenance needs were met. Highly recommending Ken Stanton Music and Jake Brown for the service
Ken Stanton Music is the hometown brand. It is apparently one legitimate alternative to Guitar Center and Sam Ash. I stopped by the store recently and had a pleasant experience.
From the exterior, you can tell that the store won’t have a massive selection. It’s a smaller store, but still worth checking out. You could always find a gem. I found a pretty reasonably priced Gibson ES-Les Paul that I’m strongly considering.
I worked with Ben during my time in the store, and he was terrific. The store didn’t carry a White Falcon or a Martin D35, but he found that other Ken Stanton locations carried them and offered to have them delivered to the Stone Mountain location.
There’s a lot to consider when investing in expensive instruments and gear. As it currently stands, I wouldn’t mind buying from Ben at Ken Stanton.
Polite service.
They’re very nice and respectful and helpful
I didn’t feel comfortable as I was trying to buy, I feel like I was being watched not Good!-
literally came in to buy a guitar I had saved for got it down hit a few notes was stoked about getting it. Was pretty much pulled from my hands and said has to be clean now??? If employees so freaked out about covid really should not be working. Now hoping guitar that I ordered will feel as nice as that one …
I called to ask about trading in gear. Told them what it was over the phone. Explained that I was pressed for time. Gave me a rough estimate over the phone. Guy told me to bring the gear to the store so they could evaluate. Drove to the store… wasn’t close…and before we can get out the van tells me he can’t buy the gear.
20. Town Center Music
Address: 4072 Suwanee Dam Rd NW, Suwanee, GA 30024 , Morrow , Georgia , United States
Great experience all around and beautiful set up. Aaron Brown never pressured me to buy anything but played different guitars for me while I had my back turned so I could choose by sound alone. Pretty cool. Will definitely be a returning customer. Thanks for helping me today
My experience was great.I love the store. The associates who work there were very nice and professional. The equipment is top notch!
This is an excellent music store with even more excellent people working there who make musicians feel at home.
Much better store I not been here in a while the past manager was not a music guy or a manger known as a air head I will be back
Taught my kids to play guitar
Good
Went in there a couple days ago. Not a huge fan. Workers aren’t very pleasant people and they come up to you every 10 minutes kind of giving you the hint to leave if you’re not gonna buy anything like you’re in there too long.
Great for beginners I guess. Don’t come in here expecting higher quality equipment and experience. Name of their game is to hook beginners onto cheap equipment (which is totally fine) and get you out. No hanging out in there jamming for an extended time.
Maybe I came in on a bad day.
AVOID AVIOD
High prices not helpful run by a guy who looks 40 and still in a garage band no music
background not open late any place better then here. Manger is clueless.
Wow. Just called Town Center Music. Someone answered. I started asking about a guitar I’m looking for and got cut off mid-sentence by the guy talking loudly to a co-worker. When he stopped talking I said hello? Hello? Nothing. A few seconds later he hangs up.
