Liked the one in Effingham, this one is much smaller, but they just opened so hopefully they’ll get bigger and more selection. Friendly staff there as well.
A great place with new treasures every day.

Order online
The little unknown place with hidden gems!..
They seam to have what you need. In music supplies.
Has what you need when it comes to musical instruments needs..friendly service and knowledgeable..
Music store that appears to be run out of someone’s house. It smelled like stale cigarettes and was extremely disorganized. The guy running the place seemed to know his music but unfortunately I couldn’t handle the smell of smoke and was afraid that anything I purchased here would likely bring the smell home with me. Very friendly and helpful but this place desperately needs to be aired out.
Disorganized and everything is not priced with a tag, you have to ask him to look it up online in order to get a price. You may be there for an hour waiting for him to price each record or instrument you want. You will have better luck going to Guitar Center 20 miles away. Prices were not negotiable as well, just seems like a used music store should be more open minded to pricing and all.
Nothing in the store was priced. Took the time and found a stack of records I wanted to buy. He said he’d have to go on the internet and price each, one at a time. Gave him about 10 minutes to do that while I shopped. When I was ready to go, he only had one priced, and it was more than twice what it was worth on Discogs. The place was filthy and stinky. So, told him never mind on the records and I would buy the drumsticks and a kick plate. $16.09, fair price. Gave him a $20 and he didn’t have any change. Finally got so frustrated and just left. Don’t waste your time here.

Russ was very helpful and knowledgeable. He got me hooked up with the right equipment for what I was looking for.
All staff is very nice and helpful. Would recommend them to anyone.
Very helpful staff, good selection of music and instruments.
They have good rental violins. The strings are overpriced compared to the internet, understandably. Their violin selections for $1000-2000 is not great and overpriced for their quality compared to other violin shops I went to before. I have played for over 9 years.
Very helpful in the store. I wish they had more in the way of home studio gear, but it’s still a cool store.
Us as parents made a mistake about payments on my son’s sax so they did what there Right was and got it back so we went in and bought one from them paid it full out that same day we bought it they informed the music teacher to take it they were picking it up the following Friday so my son had it removed from him in front of his classmates just before his Christmas concert he was crushed at something he was looking forward in doing
we had receipt for sax which we paid cash for so with them doing this my son no longer wants to do band or music just because the people at the music shop if I could give them negative 5 star I would who would tell a music teacher to take away a sax that was paid for from a child for no reason at all I hope u go out of business?
They’re expensive, the cables and accessories they sell will usually cost nearly twice in price, just go on reverb or guitarcenter and order online instead. Saving customers money. The place is fairly quiet for a music shop and they have great service and employees though, I just wouldn’t suggest buying any accessories or equipment stuff like cables for electric instruments.

Really cool little music store!! I was surprised at how many different instruments they sell here, it’s not just guitar, bass and drums but they sell orchestral instruments as well in addition to all the accessories. Tons of sheet music as well!
We have been in here dozens of times over the last few years. Always veey friendly. Always patient and knowledgable. Employees take time with you…. you don’t feel rushed or pressured.
We always get expert advice and service here when we take our son’s violin for TLC. Great staff!
The Music Shoppe has always provided quality service. We have purchased one instrument from them, but had other instruments serviced. They have knowledgeable staff and I have never been disappointed with any repair or maintenance work they have completed. They bent over backward once to help us in a pinch.
My only complaint is that they are so busy with schools, it is hard to get personal instruments in. (They told me 3 weeks before they could even look at my daughter’s instrument.)
These people are consistently quality professionals. Over the last 5 years I have trusted their service and have not been disappointed.
Nice staff, wonderful selection, higher end of the usual price range though.
It’s a good place for renting and buying instruments. They repair and provide loaner instruments.
I went to get my clarinet fixed and they tried to up sell me on getting all my pads fixed and thought I was a child and were annoyed I came in the store when I came to pick it up. I will not be using these services again because of the horrible service I received from the workers.
I went in to have my saxophone serviced. The saxophone I play is pretty nice. I mentioned that I played it in marching band and the woman belittled me for playing a nice instrument in marching band. Sorry I don’t have an unlimited supply of saxophones.
Looked at stuff for over 20 minutes without getting attention of any staff members on a very slow day. I literally was carrying a list of items I needed. Prices were way out of line. Selection was slightly better than Guitar Center.

Great personal help. Love the help with instrumental repair.
Love this store!!
Owner chatted with us about the 2 train tracks they have around their shop
Great place!
I like going here. They have been helpful and nice. I bought a harmonica and a kazoo there.
My husband got a book on country music artists
They have coins, and books, and instruments, and they buy gold. and other things like a lawn shop sorta.
They had a couple little things that I thought was neat.
One was a tiny music box. But it operates on the order of a jack-in-the-box to hear the music. Except you don’t get anything pop out.
Another item or items I liked was a pink ukele and a mobile kind of thing.
Also when I didn’t have quite enough money to pay for my purchase, an employee paid it for me. It was much but I really appreciated it.
So yes I would recommend going. I know I will go again.
