Always have great service when stopping here. Been coming here for years. Clean, organized store, and the employees know their products
Great selection of equipment and lessons
Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Have used Accent 2 years in a row to rent band instruments. They are reasonable and have quality products.
Great place sat 3pm was crowded and they only had one staff so longer then normal for service.
I’ve had good service at this store. The staff is polite, knowledgeable, and helpful.
Nice instrument’s, specially warwick basses. Some good Boss pedals, one guy part of the staff not too nice though. They could do better receiving customers. Closing the doors of the music school on your face doesn’t seem like a charming or effective welcoming strategy.
They tend to charge list price, but will usually come down to comparable prices if you argue with them. They frequently don’t have what I’m looking for, but they get 2 stars for a total lack of other options in Delaware. Better off driving to the larger competitors in Cherry Hill, NJ.
Ordered a bass amp there a month ago and it still has not come in. We were told it would take 7 business days to get here and every week we go back it’s a new story well this week are getting our money back and going to guitar center where they have always told the truth and we have always received our products promptly !!!!!!!! Sorry but the service there is the worst ever!!!!
The staff at Accent Music on 202 has little concern with customers needs. I was given every excuse in the book why my item was not ordered from the manufacturer when I could have ordered it myself and gotten it days ago. No tracking #? No ETA? No resemblance of customer service. I’m sure they like to sell things but just not to me.
3. Music & Arts
Address: 4707 Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington, DE 19808 , North Star , Delaware , United States
This is great shop having very friendly staffs they answer your all questions you have with patience and with their good knowledge. Here you can buy or rent different musical instruments and different music classes also by great teachers in the area.
Best customer service possible. Today was the second visit requiring the repair of my sons alto saxophone. On Both visits they repaired the sax while I waited. Now I understand why our music teacher highly recommends this music and arts location.
They have gained a loyal customer!
Appears to be primarily focused on school music.
Nice staff! Nice instruments, some violins, chellos, stingray basses, music courses. Very nice music store
Friendly staff , good service
Music? I don’t think so. I really can’t describe it. They seem to make their money renting kids instruments for a fortune. They do offer lessons by local musicians and have a lot of sheet music. If you’re looking to buy an instrument, go to Accent Music farther west on Kirkwood. That’s a music store!
Terrible service. My girlfriend takes her son here for guitar and the teacher stood them up 5 different times and they didn’t reimburse her for 3 of those 5 classes. There staff told her son not to attend the class on 12/21/18 and his mother called to confirm this and the staff member failed to contact her back and when the teacher showed up to teach the lesson he decided he was not going to refund the lesson. When I say stood them up 5 times I’m not saying he called them 20 minutes before and said hey I can’t make it. I’m talking about them driving 45 minutes away just to find out the guy isn’t even there and failed to tell anyone. Is this good customer service? Is this fair ? You charge people 30 dollars for a half an hour and you don’t even show up?
Poor service and rude employees. Not worth the time, go somewhere else
Bought a bass for my son and uke for my daughter. Best guitar shop/repair around.
Dave is very helpful and friendly. He evaluated the issue with my Ibanez acoustic electric and did a fix which should do the trick. Thanks Dave!
In my opinion Dave has a lot of knowledge in his field. He gives a very detailed description of what he is going to do for you and also what to expect. He takes his work very seriously!. It was a pleasure doing business with him. In the future I will have him do all my guitar work. Thank you Dave for being the person that you are.
Good but the prices where a little high on some stuff . Overall it was a good experience.
Had 2 of my guitars worked on here, around 4 years ago. (i know its been awhile but i just started doing these google reviews) A BC rich with a Floyd rose trem which just got a normal setup plus had a pickup changed out in a Gibson Flying V. First off the price seemed way too steep for the BC rich which was around $125 for a simple setup. The Gibson had way too much hum after he installed the Seymour Duncan. The worst part was the guy stole my stock Gibson pup that he replaced after i specifically said to put it in the case when it was done. I will never go here again for guitar work and this experience is one of the reasons i learned how to do these things on my own. Just go to guitar center or dean sapp for instrument work
7. Hockessin Music Studio
Address: 4 Ice Pond Trail, Hockessin, DE 19707 , North Star , Delaware , United States
Great selection of albums and helpful, courteous staff. I will definitely go again.
Very knowledgeable staff. Very nice. Good prices
Great store..well stocked, though sometimes if unique, might need to order…and they allow service dogs, so Apollo went with me.
Lots of old albums to choose from.
Great selection. Most of the fun is searching through the bins and finding a gem.
A quaint little store on the outskirts of the UD campus. The buy your records back, but they need to be in excellent condition.
I’m prefacing this by saying the people there seemed really nice but – the record selection is abysmal and it kind of looks like a bomb went off in there. I assume they sold more in the past and specialize in just glass nowadays but if they cleaned up their record selection and updated their back catalog, I could see things changing. They should also try advertising their recording studio.
While I was there, the person behind the counter didn’t even aknowldge my existence.
This review is strictly for the recording studio, not the storefront.
The owner assured me he has experience with mixing and mastering and has had many artists come into his store to record. Taking his word on good faith, I followed suit.
The entire time he was trying to figure out his system while we were recording and it was clear he had no idea what he was doing. He also claimed that he was very good in particular at recording the drums, but used only 2 SM57 overhead mic’s to do the job.
The recordings not only sounded amateur and disorganized, but it took weeks to finish. Not only that but I had to assist him throughout the entire process. I would NEVER go to him for recording again.
Date of performance 06-19-21: One month prior to our wedding date, we contacted Adeline on Gig Salad to perform the ceremony music for our Wedding. I cannot say enough good things about Adeline and her performance!! Throughout the planning processes, she was prompt to respond to all of my inquiries and met with us over zoom since my husband and I were novices to hiring a musician for an event like this. Not only did Adeline bring ideas to the table but she was also open to learning a new song from the recessional piece of our wedding (“Sign, sealed & delivered” by Stevie Wonder). Adeline definitely added that extra element to our wedding to make it truly magical!
13. Dave McDowell Piano Services
Address: 23 Ketcham Ct #1047, Landenberg, PA 19350 , North Star , Delaware , United States
The amount of electric guitars, acoustic guitars, drum sets, microphones, and webcams is amazing. Just about any guitar you could think of its most likely there. You can try any guitar you want and they have so many amps you can use. They have used electric guitars as well for cheaper, and they have sister-brands of famous makers.
I always shop at Guitar Center and the staff is great and friendly. I’m a singer as a hobby for now. They always have what I need at great prices and in Delaware No Sales Tax!!
Always get my DJ gear from here..the service is excellent and prices are fair..
Rocks my socks
Its a cool place it has equipment just like any music store. Id give the staff on a scale of 1-10 a 5. I understand that they have jobs to do and sometimes they’re busier than other times but it would be nice to at least acknowledge the customer instead of having them stand around for 20 mins roaming until you get off of the phone. At least let me know that you know that I’m here and you’ll be with me as soon as you get time, as I said I understand they have a job to do. Im also a paying customer though not looking to take up a lot of time just trying to get in and out. All good though!
I one day found a wallet in your store, and I mailed it to it’s owner. And all your people assume is that I kept it. Why ? Is it because I’m black. Closed minded jerks !
Went with a friend. Called beforehand about a product and were told to come into the store to get it. Ended up in the store for nearly 40 minutes while employees openly complained around us about helping other people. Will was attentive and kind, but was telling us things and then going back on his word the next minute. Employees seemed unwilling to help him with his questions.
I planned to purchase a large amount of equipment today but after asking for service multiple times I ended up leaving. Bad service!!!
I have been a customer for a long time. The one thing that remains a constant over the years is the condescending staff. Had another poor experience this weekend and I am moving on from making big purchases here.
15. International Groove Records
Address: 280 E Main St Suite 116, Newark, DE 19711 , North Star , Delaware , United States
Really cool spot, great recommendations. Have a little bit of everything from everywhere
Everyone who works here is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I always find things I was looking for and also recommended gems. Best international music selection in the area (coming from Philly).
Great record store with records from all across the world spanning multiple genres. A must stop for record lovers.
I have known Kathleen as a violinist and friend for many years. Whether she is playing solo, in an orchestra or a smaller chamber group, she has the sensitivity to change her style to help the working team. She is also an excellent business woman. Her communication skills, whether talking directly or through a written document are always straightforward and clear She is always willing to answer questions. She keeps great books and she is meticulously honest. She is available for any and all questions.
Having said that, most of what I have said could be applied to the Wilmington String Ensemble as a whole. It has been my pleasure to hear them play live many times. They are so good individually, and they blend wonderfully as a very tight ensemble. They are capable of doing a performance under almost any circumstance and making it great. Not just “filler music” in the corner at a reception, they work for love of their art, making it as fine as any concert hall performance. They are consummate musicians and their interpretations will delight you.
You will not forget their contribution to whatever you need them for. They are a superb musical group and I highly recommend them.
I have worked with Kathleen for many years – both in orchestras and ensembles. Through her experience in providing music for wedding ceremonies, she has a thorough understanding of the different rites, an extensive library of appropriate music for each occasion, and will provide personal assistance in choosing the best music for the celebration. The reputation of the Wilmington String Ensemble is golden, and it is because the performers are top-notch professionals in the field and care that the events they play create the musical ambience that will make it a truly special day.
Extremely talented and professional. I highly recommend them!
19. Rainbow Records
Address: 218 E Main St Suite 114, Newark, DE 19711 , North Star , Delaware , United States
The owners are the best! The staff is the best! The selection is the best!
Great selection of new and vintage vinyl in a fun atmosphere. Best vinyl shop around…!!!!!!!! A++++++
New location is nice as is it much larger and the inventory has been vastly increasesd. Definitely worth a browse!
Same dusty old record shop of yore! Chill vibes and groovy tunes.
Great local record store
Not coming back. Bought 3 albums, 2 new, and they were all warped. Records were shrink wrapped so you buy blind.
Was very excited to visit rainbow records but left incredibly disappointed. Went in hoping to find some great records but all they had were 40 copies of jack harlow’s newest project. Inventory was infuriatingly disorganized and overpriced. $25 new wave mystery box was a thinly-veiled scam. It’s obvious they were going to throw out some records but knew they could pull a fast one on some unsuspecting customers and chose that instead. Sadly I will not be back.
These people are very disrespectful to independent artists and other sales people. I spoke to Melissa, Todd and Austin and left several messages every couple of days after I was told to send an email and then follow up. After after several unreturned phone messages the person who answered the phone asked me if this was a sales call. I asked him if it was OK for me to make a sales call. He hung up the phone on me several times. Not very professional. I am happy I did not get my record into this place.
