The store was a very nice inside and full of beautiful instruments and a piano out front of the store for anyone to play. They also take instruments that you want to sell and put them on consignment if you want them to sell them for you.
People’s Music use to be better, but it’s still a fine local music store for grabbing some supplies or renting a school instrument. It has the charm and “treasure hunt” qualities of a small-town music store, you can find a cheap guitar for a beginner or a full-on vintage Gibson SG, so it’s always worth a stop by.
Nice people
Feels like they’re going out of business.
Nasty and uncaring owners; Get music somewhere else! pointed out a safety hazard in the store, where someone could easily trip, fall and be injured. I suggested yellow tape. The owners got mad and told me to “leave my store!” Avoid these nasty owners.
4. Occidental Hardware
Address: 3799 Bohemian Hwy, Occidental, CA 95465 , Occidental , California , United States
The ultimate hardware store! And more, including garden center, housewares, puzzles, games and even a live piano!
Very friendly and helpful staff, its my favorite hardware store.
The staff is very helpful. We were able to get everything we needed for our wire and garden projects.
Its an awesome little country store.
Just fine.
Very convenient, and has 95% of what you usually need.
Overpriced merchandise. They don’t take responsibility for items that they sell that are damaged or missing parts.
5. Occidental Center For the Arts
Address: 3850 Doris Murphy Ct, Occidental, CA 95465 , Occidental , California , United States
Fabulous pre St. Patrick’s Day show with the Black Brothers. OCA is a sweet jewel of a place for intimate live music occasions! Don’t miss it particularly Don’t miss the Black Brothers show wherever the are playing!
For a small town, having the OCA is blessing. This place provides a venue for people to show off their artistic talents. It’s cozy plus the people there are so friendly.
This place is awesome, last dance I saw just two Gen Z kids. they were having a blast enamored with each other, but what made it possible was the music the band Rocked it! There must be a way to bring in more millenials as well as GenZ. I was thinking a gallery show targeting Millennials (ages 23 to 38 ) and one targeting Gen Z (ages eight to 23). Simply called “Milenial Art Show” and “GenZ Art Show & Dance Party”, (dance open to all generations of course).
At a Halloween show and memorial for a friend: very nice place.
location great, would love radiant heating in the yoga studuo
Charming town … lots of good places to eat. The occidental art center has art and entertainment.. The scenery is spectacular.
6. The Altamont General Store
Address: 3703 Main St, Occidental, CA 95465 , Occidental , California , United States
This upscale eatery blows my socks off every time I go there.
Today I had such an exquisite chicken melt sandwich that was so good I had to call them after and thank them for doing what they do.
The owners oversee the magic and the staff is super friendly & adorable always making sure you feel the Occidental love.
Charming atmosphere, delicious, well crafted food with masterful flavor profiles.
Don’t miss this gem!
Nice space
Super cute store, nice snaks and coffee. Please to relax.
Yummy goods, both edible and homewares.
Nice spot for a coffee and snack! Also has a good variety of items to choose from as well.
This place is a treat I recommend there eat your greens salad and the pork melt the burger wasn’t bad either I e eaten here about a dozen times since I’ve been in town and I haven’t had a bad meal yet from there
Pretentious, overpriced, and complicated ordering and delivering food. If you like that sort of thing this place is the place for you.
Ordered an egg sandwich. first one in. Last one out. No cohesive flow to the ordering of food and where to pick it up. I was asked to leave because my breakfast sandwich was given or taken by another customer. How nice.
I suppose that would have been the appropriate response for a $2 hot dog cart. Not a $13 breakfast sandwich.
To be fair I was in the restroom when my name was called. However there should be a contingency for that.
Those sandwiches are quite sub par and highly overpriced. For all the effort they put into their house made brioche and “bann mi bun”, they’re really just bearable. The hotdog is mediocre, found a long hair in my pulled pork, and I’ve had better chicken sandwiches in fire camp. If you want a sandwich, just get a torta from el mariachi or something from bohemian market. The coffee drinks are good and the staff are nice enough, I’ll give them that. All in all, it takes some pressure off people wanting to get hung over brunch at Howard’s (which has also kind of slid off as far as quality goes) so I won’t complain any more.
Matt’s work is absolutely amazing. I am incredibly fortunate to get to work with him. He is incredibly knowledgeable, skillful and patient both in his teaching and in his recording work. His studio too is a delight to work in: spacious, clean, very well equipped and very comfortable. I look forward to getting started on the next project.
Matt is a high vibe guy with great talent as an engineer and producer, who inspires all those he works with. He will survive & Thrive
Matt is by far one of the most talented producers I have ever met. He is very easy to work with through out the whole process. Matt and his team always brings positive energy to the atmosphere. I highly recommend you to take a listen to his work. I guarantee you will not need to look any further.
9. Bohemian Market
Address: 3691 Main St, Occidental, CA 95465 , Occidental , California , United States
Mostly I get Sandwiches they do a great job daily.
Great little store!
This Farmers Market is absolutely amazing is wonderful gardeners and Farmers from the area bring there Garden down for sale at very reasonable prices very friendly
This is a great health food store, lots of organic produce and products that you would expect to find in an authentic health food store. The deli sandwich we got was not particularly great, unfortunately, but they have an awesome chocolate selection.
Health food market
Formerly – the Occidental Market – (look over the front door as you come in) , now called the Bohemian Market is a real healthy looking place with a very active coffee bar, good looking vegetables, a very nice meat counter and lots of choices for fresh bread. The baguette that I had was fresh and wonderful. I couldn’t wait and started munching on it in my car. It was top flight. I can hardly wait to come back for a sandwich at lunch some time.
This is looking good real good and I will be back. Thank You.
My sandwich is never right and the woman who makes then with the short dark hair is incredibly rude to my daughter and I, is it because my 13year old daughter wore a Trump face mask in the store or is it she is just a rude woman ?!?!
Lost my business
3/5/17 I ordered a turkey sandwich without mustard. I reminder her twice and asked if they have those order your sandwich papers. She said NO my memory works fine. Well we went on hike and found the sandwich had tons of spicy mustard on it, our dogs wouldn’t touch it. The meat was 2 thin slices. Duncan Mills Deli store has real food. Never going here again.
Going to Gino’s workshop and meeting him is like traveling back into the time when there were master craftsmen in the world! They do still exist and Gino and his daughter are living proof. It’s no wonder his customers come from all over the world.
It’s out of the way, but well worth the effort if you want your wind instrument repaired!
Thank goodness his daughter and her son are learning the trade from Gino. He reminded me of Geppetto in Pinochio!!!
I called and left a detailed message about a fluke that I wanted repaired. They never returned my phone call.
Best music store in Sonoma County! Top notch service and great selection of used gear.
Simply the best! I am absolutely addicted to this store and it is by far the best shop I have ever been to. Neville, Matt, and Sara to name a few are so down to earth and knowledgeable! I brought in an old amp about a month ago and after hearing that it was not fixable from their great tech guy behind the shop, I immediately was looking for a replacement and in no time I went home with a gorgeous Bugera v22 and now I am always in there looking for new pedals, gear, and anything else that will better my guitar playing experience. Their knowledge is priceless and have no problem answering any question I have! Thank you folks for everything!
I love Loud and Clear Music. Wonderful selection of gear and superb customer service.
Great little music shop. Lots of electric guitars, sheet music. Knowledgeable and friendly staff.
Good place to consign music gear, they sold my Roland Guitar Synthesizer for a better price than expected.
Nice people good selection of items.
So, I’ve been in here twice since I’ve moved from East Bay to Rohnert Park last year. On both separate occasions the staff watches me like I’m going to steal every item in the store somehow. Very, very, very uncomfortable to look up and have every worker in the store staring at you from across the room, yet not one word of helpfulness or a ‘hi’ or anything. I wont be stepping foot in ‘this boy’s club again’.
They’d rather make $50 or so than lose a customer and get a negative feedback. Not sure that’s a winning business strategy in the long run, but best of luck.

My apologies to this store. I accidentally posted a negative review here that was to be for another store. So….please accept my deepest apologies and any review showing from Mike F (myself) here is by complete accident and should not be held as truthful. Thanks you…and again, I am sorry for the mix up.
Staple for all your music needs
Fantastic service from their repair department from Steve.
They’re always so helpful.
I went in looking for harmonicas and their variety was not good. I was very disappointed but they had a large selection of guitars.
Easy parking lot of guitar’s and more stuff.went there for one item.very helpful sale personal.
I love the environment in this store and is my preferred music store for my brass needs. The only complaint is the repairman in the back was very rude to me and I could wait to get out after he talked to me.
I was pretty amazed by the amount of instruments that were in the store, it was pretty cool. I walked in, only greeted by a man behind the counter, facing towards the wall, raised his hand with a half-attempt “Hey.” I was there to pick up some tenor sticks for marching band, so I walked over to the stick rack. There was almost no marching percussion sticks, but a really good variety of other sticks. I found some tenor sticks, poorly packaged and plastic with some cuts and tears. There were only 3 pairs, so I picked one up to see the price… Sad, I must say at the least. I spent $30 on ONE pair of Promark TS8’s. I didn’t want to buy it, but I had no choice. Probably won’t be buying from there anymore, I’m better off getting 4 pairs of TS8’s on Amazon for $30 !!!
