Arkansas Musicworks was the third party in an online transaction. Super fast shipping, but more important, I received the correct product after failing with another source. Happy to have bookmarked your site.
Great prices and nice customer service
Great selection of gear and accessories. Chris was very helpful and I was able to find exactly what I needed for a great deal!
Not very impressed with service.
Great place.
Cool people always willing to lend a hand in any instrument they have available even of its online.
They have a large selection of guitars, which were looking to buy.
The salesman was friendly, informative and happy to answer all the newb questions I had.
He was so kind that I look forward to my next visit, and share my progress.
Helloooo arkansasmusicworks,
helloooo Mrs. Christina Baker,
My name is Ümit Özkalender and I ordered on 02/23/2017 via ebay.de (germany) 3 Dimarzio Steve Vai Guitar straps. After my shippment is not arrived, I wrote an email to you. NO ANSWER! Then I get in touch with ebay custom care. They told me, not to open a case! They get in touch with you! 30 days later after purchase and payment with PayPal, they told me that a case was not opend and my money was gone! PayPal do the same, what those useless, zero function ebay custom care do! Then I wrote you a couple of emails. NO ANSWER! No Shippment tracking! No replacement! No refund! NOTHING !!!
Soo, my 1st question is. Are you a serious company? And if you a serious company. Do you have any idea what custom care is? Grab the money and out of sight, out of mind?
And, my 2nd question. I want the guitar straps! Does that mean, I must pay one more time and hope it will be delivered! This time! Maybe?
Hope you have an good answer!
Regards
I’ve got no shippment and I was not refunded! That’s a fact! Don’t matter if it’s one or two years ago!
Went through amazon to purchase a Dimarzio super distortion pick up. The sent me an openend plexi with a generic p/u. Wiring diagram did not match the p/u received. The intent was to have a 5 split shaping for the p/u. I got a pick up with no hot wire or series ground. What a bunch of con artists.
Brought my guitar into get work done on it. Neck reset and put new strings on it. They ship it out to the luthier who gives it back in worse condition than I gave it to them in. DO NOT USE!
2. Mountain View Music
Address: 123 W Washington St, Mountain View, AR 72560 , Plan , Arkansas , United States
They do their best to fit the needs of each customer and make them feel well taken care of. Great folks!
Everything you want in a music store. You can play anything in the shop. Get instruments repaired. Also listen to some very good musicians as well.
This music store is a rare find in these days of large corporate music stores. The owners are in the store to give personalized service that you just can’t find anywhere else. Scott is an experienced instrument maker and repairman who has worked miracles on instruments thought to be ready for the trash. Shay is a multi-talented multi-instrumentalist who is a wonderful teacher as well. You might walk in while they are jamming with their daughter who is an amazing fiddle player.
This is a great place to buy anything music related. They even have small gifts. A definite must-see when visiting Mountain View.
Broke a string? Lost your pick? Need instrument repairs? THE place to go!
Friendly and very helpful . big range of instalments to pick from I give it 4 stars.
Great place
Rude and very hateful people. I have been going here for more than 10 years and I will never go back, and be treated in such a rude manner.
3. The Musician’s Exchange
Address: 2221 Alma Hwy, Van Buren, AR 72956 , Plan , Arkansas , United States
Awesome. Friendly and knowledgeable. I’ve been more than pleased with their ability to recommend the right gear for me at a great price value.
Love this place I’m not the best with names but the guy there is very helpful and friendly down to earth and knowledgeable
Drove by & stopped because I’m new to the area and was looking for a music store. I’m a new drummer, so I was only curious about their drum supplies. Sadly, they had very little drum stuff, with only a handful of used cymbals for sale on display that I could try out.
The few drum sets they had were used, in bad condition & were stacked (not on stands or with heads on them). So, I was a bit disappointed.
Store looked a bit old, dirty & run down. The two guys working behind the counter were busy chatting with regular customers, but did welcome me when I entered the store. They were pleasant enough (which is why I gave 3 stars instead of 2). Wish they had more quality drum stuff to offer.
This is one of only a handful of places in the River Valley you can buy instruments and accessories from. It’s a place I can drop in quickly for new strings or sticks. They offer some set-up/repair services from entry to intermediate difficulty. Keep to the kids close (or at the house), as various instruments and/or parts are laying around in some areas of the sales floor, making for somewhat treacherous terrain and unclear pricing. Staff are generally friendly and helpful, though you may have to approach them directly for help. I prefer this myself. Glad they’re here.
Had a hard time trying any of the basses or bass amps….nothing was even plugged in…..had to run extension cords all over the place . Then the basses and amps were so crowded could not move to even try the gear out. Didn’t feel like rerunning power to the whole department to try any other amps out. Shame would have tried more gear out….but just wasn’t expecting to hook it all up myself. Sorry guys you lost a sale….take ten minutes plug In couple bass amps everyday instead of sitting out smoking…..dude you know who you are….you shut the door on my wife as you went back in after your cig break….seriously….Shame store has potential
Dropped a guitar off for the owner to look at. He told me over the phone he’d give $150 for it and only a few hours later when I came in to get the money he prints me a ticket off and hands me $100. I reminded him that wasn’t what we agreed on and all he said was “that’s all I can do unless you want me to undo the transaction”. Not good business in my opinion. He lost a customer over 50 bucks. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
And now he’s calling me a liar. This isn’t some story I made up when I was bored, it actually happened. Remember the guitar was dropped off so it could be appraised. I don’t enjoy writing bad reviews but this one was earned.
Dropped my guitar off before Christmas was told it would be ready 2nd week of January. Called 3rd week was told not yet. Called 1st week of February was told it was being repaired. Called 4th week was told it would be ready today or tomorrow. Still not ready. Called March 2nd was told still not ready had not started on it had no idea when they would start on it or when it would be ready. Then the smart ass says if I am in a hurry I could just come and get it he did not care.
Unfriendly staff
4. Palmer Music Company
Address: 1131 Front St, Conway, AR 72032 , Plan , Arkansas , United States
I have been doing business with Preston for a long time. I’ve even taken guitar lessons from the man in charge, LOL. I’ve bought new equipment. Sold them used guitars for a fair price. Just yesterday the service dept helped me with some wiring issues on a fiddle pickup( thanks Bear). ALL of the staff makes every effort to make sure that you are satisfied! You will be much happier trading here than you would be if you went to the big box store. The company gives back to the local community through numerous promotions/collaborations and by supporting local artists and the community orchestra! Definitely 5 stars!
Awesome store!!!! Very knowledgeable staff and friendly!!!!
Very helpful, knowledgable, and welcoming staff. Good selection of quality acoustics, electrics, and pedals. A+
Usually busy because they’re good at what they do!
I was looking at electric guitars and they didn’t offer to let me plug any of them in. How are you truly going to know if you like one or not if you can’t hear the sound.
My guitar was in for repairs for about 4 months. Almost no communication was provided about status of the repair work. It’s understandable with Covid making it difficult to have parts shipped, but the lack of adequate communication was uncomfortably disappointing. I don’t blame the young individual who was working on my guitar, but rather leadership who should have provided direction on appropriate and timely customer service communication. It doesn’t matter to me that it would have taken considerable time for repairs. But the lack of communication stating that due to a backlog in parts, and it was just a waiting game, would have been enough. A 30 second phone call every couple of weeks or so to advise a customer that no progress has been made is better than nothing…it would have been enough to have left my guitar there for months longer. The ironic thing about all this is that I really like the store and the people at Palmer Music, so I will most likely continue to purchase my music supplies from them and I hope my experience there was a one-off….
Went in expecting to buy a new guitar on 01/26/2023. The man behind the counter was very unfriendly & unhelpful.
I found one I wanted to buy but I just didn’t really want to give my money to a person who didn’t know how to smile.
Another employee walked by and was even more emotionless than the other guy. I left feeling very unwelcome.
I will not be back.
Go to GUITAR CENTER instead (you can actually have FUN there).
5. Guitar Center
Address: 160 E Joyce Blvd, Fayetteville, AR 72703 , Plan , Arkansas , United States
Guitar Center has all the music supplies for all your needs with good prices too.
Good, average priced selections
I’m interested in a keyboard. Next time, I’m going to buy a keyboard.
Valli very nice and helpful .
Aron Baker drop the ball twice .when running promotions and not following up.
I paid, and the dude just shoved my brand new cymbal in a plastic bag, with all the other stuff I bought. After doing some research, it seems this is SOP for GC. Sucks they are pretty much the only game in town. Their prices are good, though.
Very unprofessional and unknowledgeable luthier. Nearly messed up my guitar. Paid 20 dollars for a simple strap button install. He paid no attention to where I told him to place it and instead just put it in a general area where now the strap and button interferes with playing any high notes. He Didn’t even know you were supposed to put something like a felt underneath it and blistered my finish. It used to be an old man working there that did top quality work now it’s this punk. I DO NOT RECCOMEND THIS LUTHIER! The staff is cool tho.
