Every time I walk into this store, I am absolutely blown away with how kind and knowledgeable the gentlemen behind the counter are. I am VERY new to the bass and drums- I came in for a strap lock, which they took the time to put on for me FREE OF CHARGE and chat with me about what I was learning, who I was studying and listening to, and gave me pointers as to what I should practice to get better. On a separate occasion, I came in for a drum key and drum pad and had been in the store for all of 5 minutes and was given great pointers on what exercises I should become proficient in. I’ve never felt talked down to for being new like at some corporate music stores and they were genuinely excited for me to start learning my instruments. A breath of fresh air.

I was looking for a pair of drum sticks ( more less i had been thinking about when i get around to a music store and i was sitting at a a craft and drink / dessert place and saw the MAD MUSIC sign & desided to trot over and peek inside it was. pretty interesting and I got my drum sticks so now that I am retired living with my adult daughter 38 and 15 year old son its operation pay back time but I took it at the. Gee that would be a really enjoyable healthy way to keep my wrist limber ! who said aging wasn’t going to be fun!

I purchased a FENDER frontman25R guitar amplifier from the owner .He told me it was a red leather special edition. I traded the FENDER 25R in at a local music store they showed me online the amplifier Mad Music sold me sells for $90.00 I got $40.00 the amplifier. I’m very upset that I trusted the owner of Mad Music he grossly overcharged me I will never recommend anyone to buy from him. Mad Music totally screwed me over!

Called store and Customer Service is non-existent, felt like I was bothering the guy. Spoke as if I was annoying him. This attitude just cost them a sale. If I could go as low as 0 stars, I would.

sorry to have to report this… Following a $1100 guitar purchase at MadMusic, got home plugged it in and realized I had a switch problem, called MadMusic and was promply told I didn’t know what I was talking about when comparing the guitar to one of the same make & model two years apart. I reluctantly opened the pickup cavity to find electrical tape failing Solder joints and floating bare wires, explaining the crackling clicks pops and inconsistent sound coming from the switch.

Not willing to even entertain the possibility there might be a problem with the instrument I just purchased, i’m left with the opinion, and I must report… these folks are liars and misrepresent the products they sell. What a drag, seemed like such a cool place.

actually talked me out of some ” mod’s’ I wanted ( or thought I wanted) on a guitar and in the process ” cut himself out” of more money! Who does thar? Honest, reputable people that’s who. The set up and ” mod’s” were all 1st class. The turn around was lighting fast and the price was right! Super Cool Cat As good as it gets 5 Stars!

I called Rick about a Mandolin that I inherited from my father. Despite the fact it was damaged I was committed to finding it a good home if it was salvageable. I sent him pictures and he agreed to restore it. Several days later he sent follow-up pictures of the restoration and it looked great! Fixed the pickup, broken wires and glued the cracks. He tuned it and passed it on to a friend’s son who was interested. I was so pleased that it was being put to good use and continues to make music! Excellent service, a kindly attitude and obviously a skilled craftsman!

I was recommended to Rick’s by several friends. I called and scheduled an appt.with Rick to have him check out a used acoustic, electric Martin guitar that I bought. He checked out the guitar, cleaned it, adjusted it and put new strings on it. I can play it easier and it sounds wonderful. He showed me how the pick up and tuner work on it. Rick was fantastic and I will be taking my electric guitar in to him for setup. I highly recommend Rick.

David Hosler, the owner of Seven C, has created a gem of a guitar shop right here in the warehouse/ arts district in St Petersburg Florida. Integrating a live room w stage, events, coffee/ espresso bar, wine bar with state of the luthier gear and world class luthiers. A limited but diverse and well chosen selection of guitars are always in stock. Used and new. I have a 2015 Taylor t5z classic used on over 1000 gigs. It plays like brand new every time I get it maintained/ set up here. I highly recommend visiting the location whether you are a tourist or local. 2nd Saturday art walk they have an indoor/ outdoor event with a food truck.

I took my strat in for finish repairs after dropping it. It looks great and price was very reasonable.

Great shop, owner has literally trained Taylors techs. Went in took the time to explain grounds to me, learned something new and fixed my Jack for free. Got a set up and it plays great. They got it done super fast.Great shop.

Went over the weekend to check this place out with my son. Who is an avid guitar player and has a pretty impressive collection. Went in to get some help/ tips on a guitar he just purchased and one of the gentlemen (the one with the skully in the pic) that work their is just snobby and was such a downer no help at all. Thank god my son didn’t really listen to anything he said or was discouraged cause that guy didn’t really know what he was talking about because we actually ended up finding what we needed somewhere else who was a more educated guitar player. Definitely don’t recommend this place for anything else other than nice location. I was truly disappointed. Do better guy.

Very vibey store and unwelcoming. No one really ever spoke to us. We came to spend money but decided to take our business elsewhere. They had a lot of nice stuff but no one ever asked if we wanted to play something. By the way, I think this may be my first review.

Took my Taylor NS32ce here about a year ago at other location, I was having some buzzing and tuning issues and thought it needed an adjustment, Owner agreed and took a look at the guitar and decided it needed a new neck joint shim, he asked to complete the job in store right then, I thought this was weird, but had read reviews that it was a good shop and I believe that they were affiliated with Taylor working there in the past or something so I trusted his judgment. This was a poor decision on my part, I watched him do the entire job in front of me in about a hour, I tried to tune up and play the guitar in store seemed OK at the time, but couldn’t really get a good listen inside a busy shop. When I got home the guitar was trashed, would not stay in tune for anything and felt like the neck was completely out of place from the new shim. Deflated, I took it to Sam Ash in Clearwater and had the tech take a look he agreed with the faulty work and kept it for a couple weeks and when I got it back it played like a dream again. I wasted a $100 at this place. I see the good reviews and wish the shop the best of luck, but wanted to tell my experience.

Great place to record and rehearse. They have strings, picks, sticks, cables and other stuff for sale also. I was there today.

Great place to play and practice music

Took my guitar in for repair. The guy was real nice and offered several solutions and prices. I got a nice loaner for cheap while he worked on mine. He did more than he quoted including polishing up my guitar without any extra on my bill. I’m not sure what all is available for sale but good experiences go a long way. This would be my first stop for future needs

if you want state of the art gear. they have only the standard. just enough to get you through practice.

Very kind and pleasant. My daughter’s guitar strings broke and he fixed it for the cost of the sting. I called around my area and he was the only one who could do the service and be reasonable in cost. Recommend his business for sure.
