The owner of Sun Valley Guitars went out of his way today to help me get a mandolin. He’s an awesome guy and did what he could to help me get started.

Brian was great at communicating with me, very easy to work with, and found the best mandolin based on my needs. I would recommend anyone looking for a mandolin to reach out to Brian, he’s the best there is.

I came in here to browse guitars and ended up purchasing a brand new Taylor. Mikey was the guy that helped me out with the purchase and if it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t have pulled the trigger. He is very knowledgeable, extremely helpful and has excellent customer service skills. Honestly the guy is a badass and deserves a fat raise. Mikey if you’re reading this thanks again man.

Chill spot, some nice axes and isn’t full of every random guy in town like some other name brand stores.

I needed a few things for an upcoming sound gig and wanted to check out the used gear too. I found a mixer board that had some miles on it but it had 16 inputs and I could really use more inputs (who can’t?). The salesman helped me test everyone one of them, which gave me the confidence to buy the board. It was a great price too! Great job everyone at Sam Ash!

Took an hour and a half to buy a guitar, poor Sam (his real name) was swamped due to under staffing. Everytime he tried to cut a deal he had to call some young guy to put in a code at the register. Young dude fought with me over a measly $50 discount, pretty ridiculous seeing that SA owns Michael Kelly guitars. Still happy with my purchase and past purchases at SA.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Staff is very rude. I complained to the manager, who lied regarding staffs behavior when speaking to me. I have never been treated so rudely in any store. They lost a customer for life.

Terrible service at the store my advice would be to order online,online they are very helpful and courteous,the in store employees are novice at best and the guitar service center is right next to being laughable,I’ve had my guitar in their shop for just a shade under a month for a single pick up replacement and to be re-strung on the so called service plan I regretfully purchased for $170.00,mind you I have spent upwards of 3 grand at this place and I gotta tell ya I’m kinda regretting the choice I made to purchase anything at all from Sam Ash!
1-11-17 so to follow up on my review,when I was finally called to pick my guitar up the manager was called to come and see me,so at that point I knew it was about the review,first of all if wanted to speak to this manager face to face I would have hence the reason I left the review in the first place,so after I clearly stated I had nothing to say to either the manager or the guitar shop guy”Phil”phil then proceeded to let me know his feelings on my review again I am here to pick up my guitar only not to have a confrontation abt a review I left,having said that I do wish to admit a mistake by not excluding Michael the sales manager from my previous review, that guy has always been very helpful and knowledgeable and was going the extra mile to save me a few bucks so I do appreciate that other than that when I asked what could have made my pick up go bad the response from Phil the guitar guy was”it’s coated in epoxy so we’ll never know”.

You have been warned. They talked like they knew the product very well to build trust. They overpromised and underdelivered when I got my guitar back and still wanted to make excuses???, the work I asked for was clearly stated in the receipt.

A great place to get a custom made guitar

I bought a charvel jake e lee model that supposedly was built by someone at atomic guitars and it was the worst thing I’ve ever played, held or experienced. Everything about it was off from the neck pocket to the fingerboard and frets. I was told that it was built by the guys at atomic guitar and I hope that wasn’t the case at all.

I took a mid-level Martin to them with a crack. They humidified it to where the crack closed. They told me it was repaired but to be sure and keep it humidified. The fact is they humidified and the crack closed they didn’t do the repair but they charged me for it.

The guy who answered the phone was a jerk. I took my guitar to someone else.

Haven’t been there yet, but I know The RedHeadedDevil when I hear him. Looking for a versatile acoustic for beginners, but able to hit low E for Waylon and other nostalgic classic rock, along with nirvana plateau.

Went to buy a guitar but no assistance from the clerk was offered and large sign indicated you can’t touch them without assistance so we left. Makes it difficult to make a purchase. To be fair the clerk was waiting on another customer but just continued to ignore us and didn’t even bother to say “hello” when we entered the store. Not much available there in the way of instruments unless you need used amps, guitar stands, cheap guitars, or ukuleles.

I’ve been there quite a few times before. As a child the owner was alright but somehow he just became rude after a while. There was a time when I was 19(9 years ago) and there was an 800 dollar Jackson on the wall that I really wanted. I brought $850 dollars with me and jammed out on it for about 5 minutes, the owner came up to me and said “If you put one scratch on this I’m going to make you pay for it, do you understand?” I know I look young and I looked about 15 at the time but there have been several times(like yesterday{let me play for 4 minutes and told my party to leave when I wanted to buy a practice amp}) that I brought money in to make a purchase of over 300 dollars and he makes me uncomfortable or says something rude. If you need a reed, or if you need a rental, this is a good place. If you’re a musician, and you want to try stuff out, drive 40 minutes, the owner has been rude to me for 15 years. I swear he hates musicians.

Came in for guitar picks and strings and was thinking of buying an acoustic guitar on the wall. I asked if I could play it he said “yes”. I played a couple chords and got kicked out for playing it to “hard”.
