I cannot say enough about this place!
If you want customer service and personal attention, there is nothing else like it.
Big chain pricing with the attention you can only get from a smaller store.
The size should not fool you as they seem to have plenty of inventory for anything musical and certainly can get it if not.
I and my children are beginners, so have a ton of questions that would have most sales representatives rolling their eyes and counting the time but not a single one of my weekly trips has been that way here.
Very personable and helpful staff with extended personal teachers in a variety of categories.
I would not go anywhere else for my musical needs and I do a ton of research before I buy! So, trusting them to get what I will be happy with, is pretty defining.
Keep up the great work and we will be life long customers! Thank, Kurt
I love this place! From the friendliness of the employees to the rental instruments, not once have I visited this store and left disappointed.
Staff is very helpful and friendly.
I brought my daughters here, ones in high school and has been playing for a while and one is going into middle school and just beginning. While I would give the guys more stars they were amazing!! They had great service and went the extra mile to make sure my daughters were comfortable especially my new band student who is playing sax!!
The reason why I gave the music store 3 stars was because of the woman who works there. She comes off as pushy, bossy and gets really into peoples private business.. She had me really mad the day I went there.. I feel for the men who work there.
Great place to find IEMs, headphones, Guitars, Speakers, Pianos, and more!
Good variety of musical instruments.
The customer service is awful I definitely won’t be back there every again
Had to make a quick stop to grab a few things. I know it was closing time. I was trying to make it quick. When they started harassing my husband reminding him when they close he left and we took our business somewhere else. Customers want to feel welcomed, not reminded how unfortunate you are to have to lock the door right at 5:00.
3. Town Center Music
Address: 4072 Suwanee Dam Rd NW, Suwanee, GA 30024 , Tomiño , Georgia , United States
If you need guitar repairs, this is the place to go. Town Center was a pleasure to deal with, all around. Honest, communicative, lightning-fast and first-rate quality work at a very competitive prices. My repair was relatively minor (install a 3-way switch), but they nailed it. Beautifully clean soldering and the turn-around time was 24 hours! You can tell a great deal about a business by how they treat minor jobs. Through every step of the repair process, it was clear to me that the guys at Town Center valued my business.
Additionally, they have an impressive selection of guitars and amps. If you’re a gear lover, their huge pedal collection is truly a sight to behold!
TCM is the jam! Anytime I go in there… Problem solved. It’s like the Ace Hardware of music stores!
Everyone here is extremely helpful, experienced, and knowledgeable. I am a near complete beginner on guitar and was helped exceedingly by the very kind and nonjudgemental staff in which equipment would be good for me. The staff here is devoted to helping you get quality equipment that is best suited for your needs and takes times out of their day to listen to you and help. In addition, the teachers I have worked with have been extremely credited and helpful and the technicians skilled. Thanks!
Taught my kids to play guitar
Good
Much better store I not been here in a while the past manager was not a music guy or a manger known as a air head I will be back
Wow. Just called Town Center Music. Someone answered. I started asking about a guitar I’m looking for and got cut off mid-sentence by the guy talking loudly to a co-worker. When he stopped talking I said hello? Hello? Nothing. A few seconds later he hangs up.
Took down my review. Owner ultimately seemed to care about his customers. Too bad everything is so politically incorrect. Anyone still remember Archie Bunker?
But to clarify what idiot would try to exchange something opened, like a reed.
Amazon prime still winnnning.
AVOID AVIOD
High prices not helpful run by a guy who looks 40 and still in a garage band no music
background not open late any place better then here. Manger is clueless.
4. Music Authority Inc
Address: 123 Merchants Square, Cumming, GA 30040 , Tomiño , Georgia , United States
My daughter have been taking music lessons at Music Authority for over 3 years now. It’s a great place to learn music for any age group. Highly recommend MA!
Our daughter has played guitar at MA for almost 4 years now. She has loved her instructors and each of their teaching styles. Music Authority offers so many wonderful opportunities to their students such as a spring show and a fall show where they are able to work together as a band and be able to perform on a big stage in front of a live audience. They offer a couple of different Rock Camp options in the summer that are not only entertaining but the progress they make in one week’s time is astonishing. The encourage the students to come out and support local arts and support your fellow musicians. They also have Its not only about the instrument or the music but its a huge confidence booster. We are proud to be a part of the Music Authority Family. Our daughter would spend 7 days a week there if she could! Check them out for all of your instrument purchases & all types of lessons!
I’ve been at Music Authority for almost a year now, and my lesson day is my favorite day of the week. I’ve come a long way in songwriting lessons with Andrew Loggins and feel like I’ve learned not only about chord progressions and lyricism, but also about the creative process/music in general, which is exactly what I’d been hoping for. Karina Mandock is my voice teacher and she is amazing! I’ve learned more from her than I have from any voice teacher ever even though I’ve been working with her for a shorter period of time, and we have a great time and laugh a lot. Highly recommend Music Authority to anyone who is looking for lessons, performance opportunities, etc!
Mr.Mark is my son’s Piano teacher and my son enjoys his piano lessons.
I was referred to Music Authority after moving to the area and wanting to continue with my music lessons. I was a little skeptical when I arrived as I’m used to larger big box music stores like Sam Ash and Guitar Center. 2 years later I’m still a happy customer. They have great instructors all with degrees in music and actively play in places of worship and/or gig professionally which was important to me. The staff is courteous and helpful and keeps me informed on what’s happening. They do have a retail merchandise space in the front of the store that offers what I’d call a light to medium selection of quality guitars, amps, drums and equipment/accessories (NOTE: no DJ/lighting equipment, keyboards, recording or HS band equipment here). It’s very convenient after a lesson to shop and pick up those must haves. I’ve bought many things including a guitar that I’m very happy with. They’re knowledgeable, stand by their merchandise and even offer special incentives that the larger stores don’t. They have a repair and service shop that I’ve yet to use but would if needed. Don’t let me forget all the things this place does for young musicians like summer rock camps, concerts, jam nights, open mic nights and more. I wish I had access to a music organization like this one when I was a kid… I’d be a better musician today if I did. Yes, I recommend this place.
Went in for a purchase. Didn’t end up buying, but one of the owners assisted me and had a lot of knowledge to offer. People came in and out for lessons and they were all treated very well… you can see the passion. The store could use a bit of updating, which is the primary reason for 4 stars instead of 5.
I purchased a Les Paul signature from them, as well as several other things. They really are not concerned about there customers, I asked for a tech to look at the neck and fret board after a few months of owning it and got the same attitude. That was 3 yrs ago. I use to buy strings there also, But no more. Best Buy’s has great deals on strings of all types….
See ya Music authority
Over priced compared to a lot of other music stores in the area. Only worth it if you are in a pinch.
Music Authority’s website says they offer services including instrument repairs, however, this is only a half truth. When we took our daughters clarinet here for service/repair, we were told they don’t work on band instruments, they only work on guitars. Very frustrated with these guys after this interaction. I am not likely to return to Music Authority for any of my musical needs.
5. Attina’s Music Store Inc
Address: 155 Jonesboro Rd, McDonough, GA 30253 , Tomiño , Georgia , United States
They were friendly, but we kinda felt they were stand offish because my husband was asking all kinds of questions and we kinda felt that they was tired of being asked the many questions that my husband asked. They had a low selection of items and we felt that we was being pushed out of the store because he asked us a few times if we was ready to check out. So after a few times of being asked we checked out and left. Not sure if we will be going back or if we will make the hour trip to Fayetteville for all of our needs.
6. Vintage Musical Instruments
Address: 42 Public Square S, Dahlonega, GA 30533 , Tomiño , Georgia , United States
An awesome spot! The dude that runs the place knows his stuff when it comes to acoustic instruments! A nice little selection in an upstairs nook make this a very unique place to go!
Very cool spot with a great selection
Excellent shop, a lot of soul and rare items! Hope to return soon!
I was disappointed with the repair work done on my guitar. It wasn’t a horrible job but it wasn’t a good job either.
The luthier wasn’t able to polish the frets because they didn’t have any high grit sandpaper so, I had to “polish” the frets with my strings from play wear and now my frets are “polished” very unevenly.
He seemed to do an okay job with the fret leveling and crowning but there are still some noticeable corners on about half of the fret edges and especially on the higher frets where people usually don’t play. (You can tell how he had it laid on the table because one side is relatively smooth and the other looks like it barely got any attention along with the nut which is just as sharp as before)
He also got multiple dings and scratches on my guitar neck. Which I personally don’t mind on the specific guitar I sent in, but I would be quite irritated if it happened to a higher end guitar. (It’s named ‘Rawhide’ which explains the guitar well)
So, pretty much I paid for an incomplete job where if I had the proper tools I could have done it myself and probably much better.
I’m not trying to start anything and I don’t want to get the Luthier in trouble, I just want to see quality work from the Luthier so *if* I ever bring in a higher end guitar I won’t have to sleep in fear worrying about possible damage.
My recommendation for the Luthier is if someone pays you to level, crown and polish frets, make sure you have ALL of the necessary tools and really take the time to do a good job on ALL of the frets. Also make sure to keep the guitar safe in the process.
If I had known what to expect for what I paid for, I would have pressed the Luthier to finish the job, but at the time I didn’t know what high quality frets were like.
Lastly, on an unrelated topic that really goes to personal preference, they require masks to enter the store, no exceptions. I don’t support being muzzled for a virus with a 99%+ survival rate and even 95%+ if you’re over the age of 70, where it’s so “deadly” you require a medical test just to see if you have it, and asymptomatic spread has been proven to be extremely rare, if not just another myth to keep us living in fear.
But to each their own.
Went to store this morning at ten after 11 and no one was there.
I’m very disappointed in this “business” we had taken a family heirloom to him to be repaired, he said it would take two weeks. Hey, great you got a deal. Let’s go ahead and pay for it so you will have the money on hand to pay for the parts and your time. Three weeks later we have to call and the guitar still isn’t finished. Four weeks later we call once again it’s still not done. I go to the “business” to see if it’s even been touched, and low and behold it had not. He had already told us that sales from other people come first with it being around the holidays. Wait wait so a sale that was already made gets placed last?! That was my daughter’s Christmas present as well to hear the guitar play once again that her papa had gave to her 10 years ago, then he pasted away. I will never trust this place again repairs or to buy from!
7. Ken Stanton Music
Address: 6010 North Point Pkwy, Alpharetta, GA 30022 , Tomiño , Georgia , United States
I highly recommend this store, their customer service is awesome. I got an error online order, but Mike helped me solve the problem instantly. Plus, I got my breath builder exerciser in just 2 days.
I have taken drum lessons there for over a year now. The staff is wonderful. Glen and Chaney have spent a lot of time with me when it was time to buy a new drum kit and hardware. Mitch Kiley is one the best music teachers I have experienced. He teaches drums and helps me with my band pieces as well. I do all my music business there.
I am visiting from Las Vegas and found Cheney Brannon, in the drum department to be friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to spend a few minutes with me. Cheney will be getting a call from me next year when I will be ready to buy my new Tama Star or Starclassic kit……
Friendly, very helpful
I’m not saying I’m being racially profiled, but every time I walk up in there, I always have older white gentlemen talking down on me. It’s disrespectful and unprofessional to a growing musician like me and I feel very unwelcomed. I know it’s Marietta, but nobody likes your white boy confidence, so please keep your employee’s attitude in check, even if you’re going through a hard time yourself
There is a reason why I have only been in this store twice in ten years very unfriendly staff. It would get zero stars if possible but one is as low as it will go.
I bought a flute here then a month later it breaks while doing an E flat I am upset because I went again got it repaired then 3 days later it breaks
8. Firehouse Guitars & Music
Address: 612 Medlock Rd, Decatur, GA 30033 , Tomiño , Georgia , United States
I called to get information about Guitar Lesson
Pete was so helpful signed up for Saturday classes
And the prices are reasonable ❤️
I have bought from this place many times and have taken lessons and I am happen without the service and the instructors have passion about what they teach.
Selection of guitars is limited but they have everything you need for maintenance. The staff was very helpful as well
This is a pretty good little store. I bought my guitar and amp here
Rip off.go elsewhere. I use to really like bringing my daughter here but they must be under new management. Prices have gotten ridiculous!!!
9. Atlanta Musicians Exchange
Address: 2619 Lawrenceville Hwy, Decatur, GA 30033 , Tomiño , Georgia , United States
I purchased a complete Pearl drum kit from this shop. Excellent everything! Fantastic customer service! Would purchase from again!
I stopped in because I had 2 issues with a trumpet. Because of a tight timeline they could only fix one issue. I was still happy they were able to fix one issue, but they refused to take any payment because they didnt get it perfect. These are some honest guys and I am truly thankful for the work they do. You can’t go wrong with AME.
Bought a saxophone and a flute for my daughter at good deal. Very humbled gentleman and easy to work with. There are a lot of other musical instruments at good quality too. Will come back.
I found the owner to be very unfriendly. I will shop elsewhere. I don’t like to feel like I am bothering someone when I’m spending my money.
The photo of the wall of guitars is pretty much their entire stock. I’ve seen low-end pawn shops that are less cluttered.
I spoke with the most racist person that I’ve come across in a long time, I think it was the owner. My child called the store on the 4th of July (several times because he is a child and did not realize that businesses are actually closed on the 4th of July). I was unaware that he called so many times. The following day I received a VERY nasty and distasteful message on my voicemail. When I returned the call, I wasn’t even given a chance to speak. He was yelling, using profanity and hung up on me. I will definitely tell everyone I know not do business here and I do not recommend doing business here (especially people of color). I will also post it on my social media pages. There are far too many Music stores that actually respect their customers.
After looking at other reviews, it seems that the owner is just a jerk by nature. I didn’t even see any responses to good reviews, only negative ones. So apparently you enjoy tounge wrestling. I feel sorry for the people that have to deal with you daily. Bless you anyway sir.
Update: Every business was NOT closed. I didn’t call my son did several times. You left a nasty vm on MY phone. And who has no class?? It’s definitely you…
10. Guitar Center
Address: 2480 Briarcliff Rd NE Suite 13, Atlanta, GA 30329 , Tomiño , Georgia , United States
Just received great customer service at this Guitar Center. I called to have them hold something and spoke to Tia. However, when I got there, someone else had grabbed the item when she wasn’t looking and was about to sell it online. She rescued it for me and I went home happy. Tia rules!
They are just hustling for a check. Don’t really care about the customers needs.
Hard to find an associate (not surprising) and VERY limited percussion supplies if you need actual acoustic material and not electronic. Disappointing, as this is supposed to be one of their “premier” percussion locations.
The rudeness & disrespect of this establishment is next level
11. McDonough Music
Address: 184 John Frank Ward Blvd, McDonough, GA 30253 , Tomiño , Georgia , United States
They had it, if you are not a pro. They had it. If you are pro in search of something especific, they may have it.
I’ve been going to Guitar Centers all of my life, but this one is wonderful, not just because of the excellent selection of equipment, but the awesome people who work here who are always willing to help, and make sure you’re finding everything you need. If you’re unsure what you need, they’re quick and informative to help you figure it out and take time to make your time there a superb experience every single time. Rusty knows how to find and hire the best people. When I ever I come in, he is always very helpful and kind. Keep up the wonderful work!
These location is great, they have a lot of great good stuff on the left side of the store(pianos and pro audio) sick drum room, too
Excelente local com grande variedade. Mas o preço é bem elevado.
I had to purchase a vocal mic and was impressed by the sales associate willingness to help and patience.
They have nice collection of guitar. Wide variety of electric guitar but when it’s come to acoustic I think the collection is little limited. But still the collection will satisfy everyone.
Worst experience I think I have ever had in a Guitar Center. I walked into the store, wasn’t approached by any salesmen, until about 30 minutes later after asking multiple people, and having everyone point to someone else. The whole time the staff was nowhere to be found, or laughing hysterically or avoiding customers. I’ve spent thousands of dollars over the years at multiple locations, and this place is a laughing stock. Not only is the staff worthless, but their knowledge on what they have in the store is quite embarassing. Do yourself a favor and shop at Ken Stanton, Maple St. Guitars in Atlanta, Earthshaking Music, or other local shops. Never spending another dime at this place.
Service after the sale , it’s a no go. Ask for a repair on a guitar, that was just recently purchased and was quickly referred to the manufacturer because I had not paid for their extended service warranty, I suggest not to buy from guitar center
UPDATED found another service provider, checked , repaired, out the door in 30 minutes, take note Guitar Center
Bought a 2013 Taylor here. Overall my first experience was pretty good. Went back to see the trade in value and was offered 250 when I paid 675 just 2 months previous. Sales Manager wouldn’t even look me in the eye. I recommend you stay away from this store and buy used if your an enthusiast. I’m shocked at how they treat loyal customers.
