I went in there looking for some speakers for our computer to replace ones purchased for Christmas at a local mall. They asked me what I was looking for and hooked me up with a knowledgeable customer service person to help me in this endeavor. They even opened the box and hooked them up so we could hear them first. Not only that, they were infinitely better quality than the mall speakers AND cost less too!
Very friendly from the time you walk in. Always helpful and honest about products.
Always great service and conversation at New Haven Sam Ash. Fair Prices For Buying AND selling gear.
I’ve been coming here for 23 years and hope to continue hangin/shopping there for another 50 !
O hope I can work there as a greeter some day
Good store, they low ball on prices for buys thou.
I was in a pinch. I needed a bass to cram some songs for a Monday rehearsal. I had a budget and they had me walking out with a bass that I didn’t have to hide from my girlfriend! They understood my budget and didn’t try to “upsell” me on a higher end model I couldn’t afford anyway. It was a quick close in and out. I didn’t tell them but I had just walked out of that “other store” because they started getting antsy about not me buying a bass that cost 3x more!
My experience with Sam ash music was very bad there service down right sucks there staff is not business oriented what so ever they have no clue in what there looking at I would strongly recommend guitar center because they are the real deal located off RT 1 orange CT thank you
the strings section is very little, and the person who is supposed to help is very unprofessional. didn’t even know what case size to use then decided that there wasn’t actually a case. don’t recommend for string instruments like violins
Terrible experience barely any guitars and they were dirty

Great creative resource for the community! Music, art, gaming, community outreach. Something for everyone!
Great place for local bands to play
Great venue space
This is meant to be strictly as a venue rating rather than the hangout spot itself. The stage is pretty sweet, sound systems great, and the lighting solid. Cozy lil place with a bunch of video games around.
(Show on 2/24/17) During my band’s set, I realized that whoever was running FOH was clearly not invested in making sure the mix sounded good. And that applied for every band that played before and after. Bass was extremely muddy, vocal mics were clipping/distorting but far too quiet, guitars were mixed in extremely loud and trebly…
To top it off, the floor monitors did not have any feed whatsoever. At one point, I was extremely tempted to take over at the FOH to fix the issues going on, but the FOH guy was busy doing bottle flip challenges/playing catch with his bud during that set.
I don’t mean this to offend the dude who did FOH that night, but rather to seriously consider seeking improvement in his skillset. Bands depend on that dude to make their mix/set sound good. I watched a really great band sound amazing 2 nights ago at Brighton Bar, and sound like beginners at this venue tonight.

More than 5 stars. Skool mixed it up like the most savory salsa. Very much appreciated. Great price. Done in one 4 hour session. Thank you.
Sound Lounge is a great studio atmosphere, the energy is always positive and Skool the engineer has a great ear for mixing/production!
Excellent work done by a skilled, conscientious individual! Highly recommend!
A true craftsman and master! His guitars rival and surpass any name brand guitars I have played. Was able to diagnose and fix issues on my vintage arch top guitar on the spot. Will recommend! Best luthier in CT.
Very nice people, they don’t have a violin luthier, but they DO work on guitars.

Always super friendly and helpful! Ask for Mark! Always knowledgeable and happy to help!
Very helpful neighborhood hardware store.
Friendly and helpful counter guy. For odd hardware you can get stuff here that you won’t find at the big box places.
Good local hardware store.
Feels like a hometown hardware store even though it’s corporate. They have just about everything you need to take care of projects around the house.
Its messy, unorganized ,and over crowded
Never shopping here again. I purchased an internet cable for my home. Brought it home and tried it out on my computer and TV, it did not work. Tried it several more times without success. I returned to the store to return it the same afternoon, the cable, packaging and receipt. The guy behind the counter refused to take it. Saying, “I can’t take that you’ve opened it”.
They sell products that don’t work and won’t honor a return of purchase.
Not a very good neighborhood hardware store walk in there 5 minutes to close and they won’t help you out
10. Guitar Center
Address: 50 Boston Post Rd, Orange, CT 06477 , Woodbridge , Connecticut , United States
I like the store, and playing the piano there as well.
I was looking for harmonicas for my 17 and 19 year old nieces who play guitar and ukelele, but are novices with harmonicas. One helpful rep led me to a second rep in another section of the store. Both reps taught me that the most versatile harmonicas are those set up in keys of C and G; the 2nd rep helped me find these and suggested a more inexpensive set of 4 harmonicas in different keys. This was my second visit to this store and I will visit again to buy more musical accessories or instruments for gifts. They have a good selection of various percussion instruments besides drums, as well as guitars and all accessories for these.
Good experience
It was ok, but the sales associate in Pro audio wasn’t as helpful. Usually the service is much better.
Very attentive and helpful staff they did not have what I needed but one of their members referred me to another company that can hopefully suit my needs
Good attention…
Go to samash music in new haven.
Watch out for this company and this particular store. I ordered a brand new Squier CV Jazzmaster recently and the guitar that I received from the Orange, CT store was very far from new. It had scratches on it, stickers peeling, there was nothing in the box besides the guitar and the vibrato bar, and it was simply wrapped in bubble wrap and tossed into a plain cardboard box.
Calling Guitar Center customer service was an absolute NIGHTMARE as well. I was constantly put on hold and passed around to different representatives. It seemed like nobody has any idea what they were doing or they just did not care. It was an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience. Eventually I got hold of a lovely customer service representative (who somehow worked for Musicians Friend and not Guitar Center which was weird) and she was able to refund me just $50 for my troubles which I accepted just to put an end to this awful situation.

As a sceptical online purchaser that lives in another country, Craig is a straight up business person and is very trustworthy and goes above and beyond. I will only buy from calistro music.
The guy is amazing, what more can I say.
Craig is top-notch. I’ve only made one purchase from him so far, but now I’ll be going back to him any time I can.
12. Starbucks

Efficient, well-run, very friendly; don’t have to wait forever for your latte like other Starbucks
Good Starbucks. Free parking
Typical Starbucks
Nice place to hang
I was in this location yesterday, 8/28/23, and saw a staff member vomiting into one of the trash cans then walking back to help customers in drive thru. As someone who used to work in food services, this is such a health code violation! What are you doing keeping sick staff members working with food? Do you not care about your customers getting sick? Nicely done. The only reason I have continued to come back to this location is because of two baristas, a woman with glasses, Tory? Cory?, and a young man whose name I believe is Ryan. Top notch service from them but others are iffy lately, good job with hiring Tory and Ryan… but vomiting employees? That’s a no from me. Highly doubt I will be returning after witnessing that. But please do acknowledge those two wonderful employees you have.
Horrible service. Teenage servers sitting on their phones, laughing and talking to each other while making the drinks as slow as a turtle. Two small coffees took 15 minutes to make, ridiculous.
Poor Customer Service. Many occasions, I’ve had to go inside due to wrong order. Never apologizes for mistakes, just get rude response as if the problem was mine.

Fantastic spot for all sorts of records, mainly used stuff. Chris (the owner) is very knowledgeable and will usually have a recommendation if you ask for it.
Glad I took the time to come here because I came away with a lot of records that have been on my want list. There’s really something here for everyone: rock, jazz, R&B, world music, etc. The owner is super friendly too, and gave me a good deal on everything I bought. Definitely will be back!
Great selection of experimental and modern electronic music! Owner is super cool. Stop by!
Cool place, hands on owner, great selections in vinyl. Prices start about $5.00, and up. This is where you might find that rare or off the worn trail recording, as well as main stream. Check it out and see. Just leave my bike alone,
Great record store, diverse selection with a particularly strong selection of rap/hip hop albums. Very friendly and knowledgeable owner.
Varied selection, lots of cheap records on bottom shelves, fair prices on all the rest. Large international and Bollywood sections. Friendly and knowledgeable owner who has a great taste in music
Probably my least favorite record shop in the state. Heavily scratched records are priced at collection levels. I would not personally shop here, especially with Redscroll so close. If you want to check out a good small shop in state, Records The Good Kind is a MUCH better quality store.
The guy who owns this shop is a decent dude. He likes to talk music and that’s cool. Be careful not to let him gas you up on records you’re looking at, though. He will absolutely tell you that albums are cleaner than can easily be observed.
I buy/listen to/ review hundreds of records a year so this is not coming from a place of lack of knowledge of the industry. Also be very sure to check for bootlegs as he has them unmarked in shop. Remember that the most important component to quality sound when listening to vinyl is the quality of the disk. There is very little quality in this shop.
Came down from Groton, CT. Place looks great from the outside, but not open despite hours stating they’d be open. Disappointing.
We came all the way from New York just to see this record store since it had been recommended to us. However, when we got there, it was closed even though it should have been open. We waited for another 30 minutes (Wed, 9/6/23, 12-12:30) before we left without having even gotten inside. Calling didn’t help either since no one answered the phone. Very disappointing experience…
